What was the point in your life where you knew and did the work to heal with your past? Divorce, etc?
The Sexual assault took a toll on my life. I became hypersensitive to my surroundings, completely withdrawn, and entered into a deep hole of depression. When my best friend recognized a major shift in my behavior and approached me about it, I knew that it was time for me to make a decision." Would I allow my experience to define me or would I use it to as a source of empowerment?"

Marriage is great but it doesn't make a bad relationship better. Many women daily are in relationships that include cheating, disrespect, abuse (mentally, emotionally, and physically). However; the moment the question, "Will You Marry Me?", is asked, quickly the answer is Yes. Women in this position need to know that marriage is not the answer. The answers she is looking for marriage to solve are found within her and not anyone else.

Have you ever stopped to realize you are experiencing the same reaction to the same thing over and over again? Have you figured out why? In order to stop repeating cycles, you must get to the root of why it is happening. It's empowering to understand you have the power to stop the cycle, but you must first get to the core of it. It's time to take your voice back.
Highlights:
4:37 What is that thing that you continue to face with different people
5:47 The little girl that I was back then, was stuck back there
6:04 Yes those words... they show up in your mirror

In this solo episode I decided to talk about a passage I read in my book, In Search of Me: A Journey To Self Love, Self Worth & Purpose. Low self-esteem is a wound internally. Low self-esteem, like all negative emotions and mindsets, is a symptom. These negative emotions need your attention. You can no longer run these wounds because they show up in your attitude, perception, understanding & relationships. It's time to deal with the internal so you can live your best, authentic self in your life. You are the only one who can start and do the work. It's in your hands.
Notes From Episode
:17 Low Self Esteem is a wound
4:17 Hurt people hurt people because that's all they know how to do
9:07 I gave myself permission to keep doing the work
9:23 While you're denying the wounds you carry, you are wounding other people
10:21 When you deal with that stuff, you show up differently

In this solo episode, I'm sharing how your mindset impacts your life. In order to change your beliefs, you must check your thoughts. I have found that my life failures and decisions have been based on the thoughts that were filled with pain. Those choices would continue until I decided to challenge my thought process.
Points From This Episode:
2:17 Have you ever questioned where did those thoughts come from
3:01 Sometimes we become a victim in our own lives because we haven't challenged our thoughts
10:23 Your sub-conscious hold memories

Today I have the pleasure of speaking to Mrs. Tonia Lewis. Tonia says she is a "small-town country girl from Selma, Al, a mother of 5 who understands the struggles of overcoming obstacles by exercising my faith. I am motivated, resilient, and humbly grateful."
Tonia's life took a huge shift when her brother passed away. She was married for a really long time and dealt with domestic violence. Her brother's passing gave her the courage to walk away from the marriage and begin to do the work to face and heal her past. She shares with us the journey that allowed her to discover who she is and gain her voice. She is an author and business owner. Her story is powerful.
Tonia's Responses?
How was not healing your heart showing up in your personal life/business/relationships?
In my relationship, personal life, and business I was allowing the same type of toxic behavior characteristics from others to consume me mentally. Things I allowed I had the choice to mot allow
How has your life changed by dealing with the hurt and releasing it?
I’m more focused on my spiritual, mental, and personal well-being now. I’m focused on my self-care and not consume with how others feel about how I feel. I decided to take back my power and save me from me.
During our conversation, Tonia talks about:
3:37 I actually have a voice now
4:54 I felt like I was obligated to put everybody before me
8:51 I had to save me from me
29:41 God said, "Tonia when you were about to lose your mind, I was already there."

In This Solo episode, I'm sharing 3 of the steps in my 12 Step process to forgiveness. Forgiveness is a hard word for many women. I'm breaking down 3 steps you can begin today to address unforgiveness in your heart. Unforgiveness shows up in your speech, your relationships, and how you relate to others.
When you hear the word forgiveness, what do you feel? The desire not to feel is why you have ignored the issues of your heart concerning forgiveness. The time is now. You have held on for too long. It's Time! As you listen to this episode, I hope you hear something that resonates with you and helps you to begin and/or continue your process of forgiveness in order to heal your heart. During our conversation, I talk about:
3:03 Definition of Forgiveness
4:04 "Holding on to unforgiveness is not a payback for the person that has hurt you"
5:27 "They are fine, you are the one carrying around all that baggage"
8:03 "What's really going on inside of you?"
13:02 "I want you to know that forgiveness begins in your heart"
16:01 "Give yourself permission, to be free for you"

For many women, friendship is a hard thing. For some, they believe other women are their enemies. The experience of each woman is what determines their willingness to be open to true friendships. I found for myself, I have to learn to be a friend to myself. My past experiences told me I wasn't worthy of friendship, women can't be trusted and I couldn't trust them. I'm sure this resonates with many girls and women. I grew seeing and hearing family members say and show this action.
In order to have healthy relationships, you have to address your heart. The heart holds pain and truth. It holds the truth of the pain you carry that hinders you from being vulnerable. Relationships require vulnerability, but only to the right people. As LaVal shared with us, the world needs to see women working in unity. Let that world begin in your home with yourself, your daughters, your moms. It's not always easy, but when you start healing within, you are better able to see the intentions of others with a clear view.

That is until December 1, 2015. On Dec. 1st neither her education, her top-level administrative position, or her six-figure income could help her. Welcome to In Search of Me Now Podcast (formally HER Reconnected Podcast). Same message-different name. Empowering women to embrace who they are in the mirror, heal their hearts, and transform their lives, relationships, and businesses.
New Weekly Episode-Thursday
In Search of Me Now Podcast is a companion to my Best-Selling Book, "In Search of Me: A Journey To Self-Love, Self-Worth & Purpose. Who am I, now? This is the question women ask themselves after the rejection, the divorce, the toxic relationships, job loss, etc. When asking this question you can begin to reconnect with the woman in your reflection. In doing so, you have the opportunity to redefine who you are by owning your truth, healing your heart, and get to know who you are now. Embracing the woman looking back at you in the mirror is brave and necessary. The time is now for you to awaken your confidence and live life boldly and confidently.
On the podcast, Lynette shares her journey after divorce hearing in her spirit, "Who am I and then asking God the question, "Who Am I Now?" As a woman, she has had to get off the victim bus and own her own truth to heal her heart and transform her life. As an author, speaker and coach, she has had the pleasure of helping other women go in search of the woman they are after divorce, after the no, after the deception, after the business failed, after the friends betrayed and embrace the woman in the mirror.

In This Solo episode, I wanted to address the heart and what needs your attention. There are experiences you have gone through that have caused you to shut off your heart to God, others, and yourself. In order to get to your next BEST, those doors of your heart must be opened. God has delivered you from many things that you must choose not to regain access or risk putting yourself back in the place you worked so hard to leave.
However, there are some doors of your heart you must be brave enough to open in order to heal. It is what's hindering you from reaching your next best version of yourself.
