Recognizing RHS
As students, we saw from first hand experience that there was a lack of student and staff recognition, especially in regards to smaller sports and clubs. We also recognized that the students that are doing online schooling through Riverside are not as unified and connected with the students and staff in school. In attempt to tackle the two issues with one solution, we decided to create a student and staff recognition podcast! The podcast gives the school a platform to recognize and congratulate the students and staff on their achievements. In addition to being accessible by the students and staff online and in school, it will be accessible to parents and community members as well! We will have the opportunity to make informing the community a fun experience while spreading positivity.

In this episode, Lily and Ryan talked with Mrs. Poje, one of Riversides amazing teachers, about her various roles not only in the Riverside community, but for the state of Ohio. She walks us through many different processes and how projects become successful. Mrs. Poje is an amazing example of great leadership and it really shows based on how students respond around her. In this episode, Ryan and Lily sit down with Mr. Freeman, a great educator with years of experience not only in the classroom, but as a student himself. They highlight on the balance Mr. Freeman has to manage while being a teacher, student, and also being involved with the Riverside community. Join Lily and Ryan as they interview Dr. Christopher Basich our LaMuth Middle School Principal. While sharing about his experiences, he highlights SIDE's SIDE by SIDE program and the need for student mentors.
Join Seniors Lily & Ryan as they examine the layers of leadership within Riverside Local Schools. Members of RHS's SIDE Leadership Class, they both have a strong interest on showcasing what makes Riverside excellent. SIDE Leadership is a year long class composed of 66 juniors and seniors who work together to guide various events and groups on campus and off.
For their first episode, Lily & Ryan feature SIDE's SIDEkicks program. An interview with Riverside Academic Coach Richard Schmidt follows an overview of the program and commentary by kindergarten teachers within the program. Mr. Schmidt is a former elementary teacher and is assisting as co-teacher on SIDE this year.
