Have you ever wondered why runners always seem so positive, connected, and fulfilled? It's not just the endorphins – there's something much deeper happening in the running community that transforms lives in profound ways.

The runner's high is real, but it extends far beyond the biological rush of feel-good hormones. Running creates a unique lifestyle centered around three core elements: positivity, community, and personal wellbeing. Every step becomes a form of moving meditation, clearing your mind and shifting focus toward gratitude and possibility. Each completed run builds upon itself, creating a positive feedback loop of accomplishment that spills into every area of life.

What truly sets running apart is the remarkable community that forms around this seemingly individual activity. Running clubs welcome people from all backgrounds with open arms, creating instant connections that often evolve into deep friendships. This community provides accountability, encouragement, and a genuine sense of belonging that's increasingly rare in our digital world. From celebrating race achievements to supporting each other through life's challenges, running groups function almost like extended family.

The personal transformation runners experience might be the most profound benefit of all. Beyond improved physical fitness, runners develop mental resilience, discipline, and self-love that transfers to everything from career advancement to personal relationships. Running becomes "therapy on the move," managing stress while boosting mood and mental health. The consistent practice of setting goals and tracking progress creates a template for success in all areas of life.

Whether you're an experienced runner or contemplating your first steps, this episode reveals the ten compelling reasons to join a running community: instant support, built-in accountability, positive energy, meaningful connections, expert guidance, motivation to push limits, improved mental health, exploration of new places, celebration of milestones, and sustainability in your fitness journey.

Ready to experience the runner's high for yourself? Lace up, find your tribe, and discover why runners are living their best lives – one step at a time. Share this episode with someone who needs that extra push to start their own running journey!

Stepping beyond the familiar isn't just about adventure—it's about transformation. Ronnell Blackman dives deep into how our most meaningful growth happens when we dare to experience life beyond our comfort zones.

Drawing from personal stories like his exhilarating cliff jump at Rick's Cafe in Jamaica and completing the grueling Dopey Challenge (running a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon on four consecutive days), Ronnell illustrates how these moments become the cornerstone memories that shape our identities and connections with others.

The science is compelling. Research from the National Institute on Aging confirms that challenging ourselves with new experiences increases brain function and neuroplasticity while reducing cognitive decline. Studies show people who invest in experiences rather than material possessions report significantly greater happiness, and those who regularly participate in social activities live an average of 2.5 years longer than those who don't.

But perhaps most powerful is the podcast's central message: "Your best life is waiting on the other side of your comfort zone." Ronnell explores how embracing new experiences allows us to develop broader perspectives, build stronger relationships through shared adventures, and minimize the regrets that haunt so many later in life. As he wisely observes, "Life is a one-time offer, so we should be making it unforgettable."

Whether you're contemplating a major life change or simply looking for motivation to try something new, this episode provides the inspiration and practical wisdom to transform from merely existing to truly living with passion and purpose. The choice is yours—will you play it safe or embrace the unknown?

In this episode we discuss the importance of having compassion and recognizing self-compassion as being a source along the journey of life that will help in many personal and professional situations. Let's reach those goals and understand that perfection isn't the goal but completion is!

Bible verse: Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

I am : I practice compassion towards myself and others

  1. I deserve compassion, tenderness, and empathy from myself.
  2. I release myself with forgiveness from today and move forward with self-love to tomorrow.
  3. Every day is a new opportunity. I won’t let self-doubt or judgment hold me back from the future.
  4. I forgive myself and accept my flaws because nobody is perfect.
  5. I’m not the first person to have felt this way, and I won’t be the last, but I’m growing.

Some self-compassion techniques and tips

  1. Let yourself make mistakes and treat yourself as you’d treat your best friend.

Welcome back to the Holla Black Podcast where we strive to encourage and build community through Conversation. We strive to aspire you to be better today than you were yesterday and taking each opportunity and making the most out of them. Personal and Professional development is the goal that we strive to hit and look forward to hearing from you on your journey towards becoming the person you've always believed you had the potential to be.

Today's Topic Confidence with guest Norman Scales :
Definition of Confidence - The Feeling or Belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.

  • The state of feeling certain about the truth of something.
  • A feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.

Confidence means feeling sure of yourself and your abilities - not in an arrogant way, but realistic, secure way. Confidence isn’t about feeling superior to others but more of an inner quiet knowledge that YOU ARE CAPABLE.

4 TYPES OF CONFIDENCE:

  1. “Unwarranted” Confidence
  2. “Pasted on” Confidence
  3. “I’ve already done it” Confidence
  4. “Effort will lead to results” Confidence
  5. Avoid the arrogance of “unwarranted” Confidence
  6. Use the “pasted on” confidence sparingly, and only to spur you into taking that initial, scary step forward.
  7. Don’t get comfortable in the confidence of “I’ve already done it” or you will cease to improve
  8. Deliberately, INTENTIONALLY, cultivate the most useful type of Confidence - A CERTAINTY THAT “EFFORT AND TIME WILL LEAD TO RESULTS”

Please give this podcast a rating and review and let us know what you think and help others in their journey to grow consistently.

In this podcast we will dive into some manifestations and talk about how to correct the courses that we are on. In life we travel a path that are lead by decisions but some of those might not be the absolute best, which is where course correction comes into play.

Many times it's our own emotions that will take us off of the course that we would like to be on. Life's a journey that we have to make choices and decisions that have outcomes. Checkout the podcast and enjoy the Manifestations for the week and signs that we maybe emotionally reactive. Also I've shared six tips that should support the mindset and help us to be less reactive and emotionally driven towards our environments and circles or outside influences.

Manifestations for the week
1. I am achieving a calm mind as I breathe out my worries.
2. My brain has more important things to do than being stressed out.
3. I am Stronger than my problems.
4. I know this feeling will not last forever.
5. I remain positive even when a situation feels negative.

Welcome to the Holla Black Podcast where we have a desire to build community through conversations. Speaking about key topics that help us build Brave Leaders that are Accountable to Communicating Knowledge.

What you do has a stronger impact on people than what you say. Oftentimes, people will say one thing and do another; the phrase actions speak louder than words means that people are more likely to believe what you do rather than what you say, be there is a difference between the two.

I Am statements/manifestations for the week

  1. I am Human and it’s okay to make mistakes.

  2. I will focus on the things I can change.

  3. I am more than my emotions.

Actions vs. Words (subtopics)

Relationships / Jobs or duties / Time management (Tardy for the Party)

The Holla BLACK podcast is focused on creating conversations that build community. Being a Brave Leader that is Accountable to Communicating Knowledge is the focus on all of our episodes and in this episodes we ask the question, Are You Worth It? If you stop and take the time to ask yourself simple questions it will allow for you to see and align with the actions we constantly take towards our future. Even not making a decision is still a decision.

I discuss ideals from the book Purpose driven life and would love to know if you yourself have asked the question of, am I living a purpose driven life? We also speak about things that happen in relationships and if the bad was a lesson to be learned have we identified our role and part in it.

I hope you enjoy and begin asking yourself am I doing the things that align with where I want to be and am I becoming the individual that I hope to be in the future.

The time is now so take advantage of the "right now" and go after it.

Serving all with excellence, and Holla Black!!!
