Through the help of his dad, he became an athlete and started competing at the world championship level for over nine years. He is very thankful to his father for taking him away from bad influences and instilling a limitless mindset. Now through injury, he is no longer an athlete but is still providing value by coaching kids and providing mentorship opportunities as an independent marketing agency.

Mike has been teaching and giving keynote addresses on leadership, civic engagement, international development, non-profit leadership and social responsibility for over 30 years and has taught thousands from all over the world while traveling to over 25 countries to develop service-learning partnerships focused on hunger policy, healthcare, education, substandard housing, water quality and sanitation, interfaith dialogue, gender and environmental issues, and civil rights.

Mike’s believes anyone can be a leader if they understand their values and the influence these values have on their leadership vision. Muhan Patel is a physical education teacher finishing his degree at McGill University. His interest in physical education began at a very young age but recently learned to use his abilities to give back to the community.
In 2018, Muhan and his friends ran across the country to raise money for cancer.
Later that year, he became a basketball coach for an adapted basketball team.
In 2020 He founded Power Buddies Mtl, an adapted physical activity program for neurodiverse young adults.
