Start your side business the right way with My First Business
Hello! This week, I'd like us to focus on being realistic in our pursuit of financial freedom.
Often, we compare our journeys to those of people who have been in business for much longer than we have, which drives us to set goals for our business that are simply unattainable within the timelines we set and/or the experience we have to achieve them. This can lead to disappointment even when we believe we've done everything right but still fall short of our goals.
In this episode, we'll explore some easy ways to set achievable financial goals for your new business.

When establishing your business, it's essential to have a safety net or cushion in place to facilitate a smooth transition from full-time employment to becoming a fully-fledged business owner.
My recommendation is to have a readily available 6-Month Expense fund for yourself.
In today's episode, I share my strategies for building your fund or safety net so you can get into your business fulltime asap.

While doubts, risks, and fears are valid, we also possess the strength and confidence to be successful business owners.

I can’t stress enough when I say, 'Being an entrepreneur can change your life for the better.'
That may be a bit hard to believe given the challenges that will come with starting your own business, especially when you have the safety and structure of a full-time job.
But once you complete your transition to being a business owner, You'll feel how fulfilling it is to be in control of your life’s expression, making decisions about how your day goes and what purpose each day will serve.
It'll show you the abundance of opportunities through the people you'll get to network with, broadening your understanding of things, or the new and interesting ways your business can help those around you.
And of course, it feels amazing to feel financially fulfilled, to value yourself as you deem fit, being empowered to earn however much you want.
Join me on today's episode and let's reflect on the great things being an entrepreneur can do for you, and know that when I say it’s all possible -- just like my client who recently closed on almost $5K in a single deal whom we'll discuss in the episode, as well!

Can I share a little secret with you, something I recently discovered?
I've come to realize that I'll never feel completely prepared for those significant moments in life, and you know what? That's perfectly fine. In fact, I believe it adds a deeper sense of meaning and grandeur to those occasions. This revelation hit me when I took on the role of a celebrant at my friend's wedding a few weeks ago. Initially, I didn't feel entirely ready for the responsibility, but I chose to fully embrace it.
I refused to let anything hold me back; I dove headfirst into the task and did everything necessary to ensure her wedding became a truly wondrous celebration of love.
I learned that starting before you feel ready can help you overcome fears and doubts, build momentum, and seize exciting opportunities in both your career and personal life. The truth is, those big moments don't wait for anyone.
If you wait around until you feel completely ready, you might miss out on the magic!
Join us on the latest episode of the Get Confident podcast and learn how to seize every moment!

Hey, beautiful! Welcome back to another episode of the Get Confident podcast.
I've picked up a good read recently, "The Diary of a CEO" by Steve Bartlett. This inspired me to dive deeper today into one concept he shared 'Filling your essential buckets as an entrepreneur'.
The 5 Buckets or as I like to call them, Pillars, in building yourself up as an effective entrepreneur.
1) Knowledge - the more you have of it, the more opportunities will be available to you.
2) Skills - knowledge is nothing without action.
3) Connection - your network is your net worth.
4) Resources - what's available to you and your cause.
5) Reputation - this one's simpler than you thought.
Join in on today's episode as I share tips on how to best fill these buckets, and solidify your pillars as you become the entrepreneur you're meant to be!

Hey, Beautiful! Here's a quick survey I'd love for you to fill in, so I can continue to bring you immense quality and value in my upcoming content and courses.
Today we discuss how Cara turned her nights with a drink in hand into a transformational change as she quit alcohol — a decision that not only sparked an increase in her confidence but allowed her to pursue new life opportunities unencumbered by the haze of alcohol.
We'll be diving into societal expectations, the power of personal choice, and the journey of self-discovery with our insightful guest, Cara—a serial entrepreneur with an impressive 23-year career in sales and a story that resonates with many.
Cara shares her transformative choice to quit drinking as a means to forge deeper connections and prioritize genuine relationships, kindness, and her passion for her work. She opens up about how societal drinking culture pressured her to use alcohol as a crutch for stress and anxiety and her path to overcoming the need to fit in through the bottom of a bottle.
If you've ever found yourself questioning your relationship with alcohol, if you've felt pressured by societal norms or are simply curious about what lies on the other side of a drink-free lifestyle, this episode is a must-listen.
Welcome to what I think is a transformative episode of the “Get Confident" podcast. Today we're diving (pun intended) into leaps of faith.
We'll talk about fighting that voice inside your head — that tells you to stay where you are, don’t get yourself hurt, or take the easy path. I’ll share about my own experience of doing exactly the opposite of what that voice says, leaving the "comforts" of my full-time job in order to go into my own business full-time.
Risk was present when I jumped.
And will be present too when you're faced with whether or not you should take your own leap of faith. I'll share how I turned those unknowns, into calculated risks, and eventually reaping the rewards on the other side. You'll also learn about how to come up with an MVP (minimum viable product) for your business, setting up your support system, and of course, finding your WHY for it all.
Tune in now to join our journey of self-discovery and empowerment as we step boldly into the unknown with open arms and an eager heart to be great!

I want to share an incredible insight that came from a recent client session. As a career and confidence business coach, I help individuals overcome their career challenges, and this particular client was on a journey of self-discovery and growth. During our session, she shared a fascinating experience of giving herself a four-week break from her busy schedule. However, halfway through, she started feeling restless and guilty for wanting to get back into her normal routine sooner. That's when I shared with her my belief that we can change our minds at any moment and have full permission to do so.In this episode, I delve into the power of changing our minds and granting ourselves the freedom to pivot and pursue what truly feels right for us. This episode shares exactly how I've done this for myself multiple times in the past and how you can too.
Let's connect:
We have an incredible guest named Danielle Vann who shares her powerful journey of finding her own voice and giving herself permission to live her life authentically. Danielle opens up about her experiences, from asking for permission from others to the transformative process of giving herself permission. We'll dive into the five areas where we seek permission - emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and financial - and how they impact our well-being.
You'll hear about Danielle's personal struggles and how she recognized the need to let go of relationships that no longer served her. We'll discuss the challenges of building new friendships as adults and the importance of nurturing a supportive circle around us.
Additionally, Danielle shares her own health journey, including both her personal struggles and her daughter's harrowing experience with kidney failure. We'll learn how she used these experiences as catalysts for her own self-discovery and healing.
This episode will leave you feeling so empowered and ready to take on whatever challenge comes your way.
