"...and the gates of Hell..." what the devil does that mean? Join us as we continue our journey through Matthew's journal.

What does it mean to be a superhero? It's easy for us to forget our roles as Christians... and maybe being a super hero isn't just about breaking some "bad guys" elbow the way that Steven Segal does... but something as simply as simple as being a friend to someone who is lonely. Maybe it is more heroic to befriend the lonely than it is to save a falling tower.

Passage: Matthew 16:13-28

Enjoy.

Join Sean, Miranda, Kate, Chris, Natalie, Maisha, Brad, Zack and Steve as we discuss life, love, cars, sex, friends and more!
We will talk about relationships and sex in high school and college and also will talk about what "sexuality" means. We also talk about how the church in the past has responded to questions of sex.

"If we take this understanding of our natural state seriously, we have to rethink what sexuality is. For many, sexuality is simply what happens between two people involving physical pleasure. But that's only a small percentage of what sexuality is. Our sexuality is all of the ways we strive to reconnect with our world, with each other, and with God."- Rob Bell, Sex God, p. 42.

Again special thanks to Stephen Coonan for his sweet track. Check him out on the podsafemusicnetwork.

Matthew 15:1-20
Join us as we continue our journey through the life of Jesus according to Matthew.
Sometimes I go for four or five months without cleaning my bathroom… and I share it with three boys so it gets pretty nasty and you can’t help but to wonder, “is that what my soul looks like?... because it has been a while since I’ve done anything to take care of it.”
Well this passage made me reflect on the status of my own soul. Come with me as I give you a look through a secret window in my life.

Show Notes:

A short dialogue on how we can be the answer to peoples prayers. Sometimes I find myself wondering why God doesn't respond to prayer... but all this time God is waiting for us to be his response.

A reading from Matthew 14:1-21 (The Message)

"The Kingdom takes place in Real Life"

Whether we are sad, or happy, stressed or frustrated, joyful or in mourning we are still called to be disciples of Jesus. It is one of the bitter sweet truths of the Christian faith... that we are called to be followers all the time.

In the times in which we feel like there is no possible way for us to keep going... those are the times we can see God move the most.
