When you’re busy running your business, it’s impossible to find time to be active on every social media outlet out there. Narrowing down your choice to just a select few platforms will allow you to focus your efforts and get the best return on your time investment. So how do you choose the best social media platform for your business?
Identify who your audience is. You want to be as specific as possible since it will make your decision easier. Write down the answers to the following questions:
Before ever creating or sharing content, think about your audience: ask yourself if it's something they would like to see and share with their friends. Once you have some ideas, you can even poll your audience to generate comments and perhaps initiate debate.
Are you overwhelmed with social media marketing?
If you’re not careful, it can get out of hand.
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, Snapchat, Pinterest — they’re all powerful tools for marketing your business online, and you might be tempted to pursue them all.
Before long, you’ll have half a dozen accounts, hundreds of people to respond to on each website, and a sense of dread about what’ll happen to your online reputation if you can’t manage it all.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
