Noah and his family have left the ark. They are embarking on a new life blessed by God, as the human race starts over from a cataclysmic flood that had destroyed everyone and everything on earth. But, shortly after Noah's departure, he involves himself in some serious moral decisions that render his compromised, which then opens the door for one of his sons, Ham, to act immorally. After Noah finds out what his son did to him, a curse is announced against Ham's progeny, which will turn out to be a further moral problem for the nation of Israel later on. Noah ends up living until he is 950 years old, but the infamy of his decision neutralizes any further word about his success as a man of God, for nothing is heard about him during his final 350 years of life.
The earth and all its inhabitants have been destroy with the exception of Noah and his family. God has re-positioned mankind whereby the extreme corruption and violence has been judged and it can now start-over. That said, God also has determined that because of the inherent wickedness in man due to sin, "the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth" (Gen 8:21). Yet, God will not destroy the man and the earth with a flood again. So, he establishes a covenant with Noah, communicating His intent (Gen 9:11). Evidence that God will remember his covenant with Noah will be seen in the sky when it rains. There will be a rainbow. Not only will the rainbow be beautiful for its physical appearance, it will be beautiful for its promise that God, who is rich in grace, mercy, and long suffering, will not immediately, nor totally, punish man's sin with another worldwide, cataclysmic flood. It is not to say that God's wrath will not be exhibited on the earth, or that man will not suffer from God's wrath, but simply that it will not be as all-encompassing as it was before. That will be reserved for later, as the Apostle Paul predicted in 2 Peter 3, when judgment comes by fire.
In Genesis 7, God warned Noah of an impending flood that would destroy all of humanity, as well as every breathing thing on the face of the earth. He gave Noah 120 years to build an ark, and only those within the ark would be spared the wrath of God's judgment. Noah builds the ark and then came the flooding deluge. In Genesis 8, Noah and his family ride out the tribulational waters, but eventually, after several months, the waters recede. Noah keeps checking to see when the ground was dry enough to exit the ark. Finally, after over a year on the ark, God instructs Noah, his family, and all the animals to leave. They were commanded, as Adam and Eve were, to "be fruitful and multiply on the earth." It was a re-creational moment. A new beginning for humanity. Noah's first act, though, was to worship God, which led God to covenant with Noah that He would never destroy the earth again with a flood. Why? Because God knew that "the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth," which is an indictment in itself, given the infection and influence that sin would still have over the human race. In the meantime, as long as the earth remains, "seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease" (Gen. 8:22).
The earth has become corrupted to the point where God has decided to destroy all of mankind and all breathing animals and creatures. The only exception is Noah's family; eight individuals in total. It is a sad day, but an inevitable day, lest God in his person and his justice be mocked to the degree where God denies himself. And yet, God is not mocked, nor will he tolerate the evil that mankind has descended. Therefore, a flood of catastrophic proportions deluges the earth, thereby wiping away all the mockers, perverts, and demon worshipers. God will start over with Noah, his wife, and his son's wives, as the remnant from a society of humans gone terribly wrong.
Mankind has become so corrupted and violent that God has decided to destroy it and everything else He has created upon the earth. The exception being Noah, whom God has not only "found favor," but is seen as righteous and blameless before God. Through Noah God is going to re-do what He created in the beginning, except this time God is going to leave it up to Noah and his family to fill the earth. Of course, in order to get through the impending catastrophe, Noah will need to build a really large boat—an ark. Only those on the ark will be allowed to survive the worldwide flood that God is about to let loose upon the earth. The ark becomes a type of Jesus Christ, or the only place of refuge to escape God's wrath, whether personally, corporately, or cosmically. Because of Noah's faithfulness, he builds the ark according to specifications: "he did all that God commanded him" (v. 22).

It would not be long after the human race began to fulfill God's command to be fruitful and multiple that it would descend into the darkness of depravity and rebellion against God. Mixed marriages between "the son of God" and "the daughters of men," as well, "every intention of the thoughts of [man's] heart was only evil continually," serve as prime example of the corruption. Attack the sanctity of marriage and before long the whole human form of government devolves into tyrannical dictatorships ("giants in the land) and oppressive governments, whereby God is only left with having to destroy humanity. Genesis 6:1-8 gives us a glimpse into the human condition even today. Humanity, today, would be doing itself a favor to pay attention to the narrative, as it continues to repeat its sordid history without learning it.
Let's talk about Adam's family. No, not The Addam's Family with Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, and Lurch. But, Adam, as in Adam and Eve. A very truncated discussion of Adam's progeny is found in Genesis Chapter 5, starting, obviously, with Adam and ending with Noah. Mainly, it is the godly side of Adam's lineage that is in view, as opposed to the ungodly side found in Genesis Chapter 4. The account extends for about 8,000 years and discusses the main characters that will ultimate show up in the Messianic genealogy found in Luke Chapter 3. One recurring theme is pointed out in Genesis 5 and it is this: "and he died." Although all the characters mentioned are fairly prolific in producing children and living extraordinarily long lives, each character dies. That is, except one, who is Enoch. Enoch "walks with God," as a fire and brimstone preacher, and manages to escape God, for God "took him." Other than that, every "father" dies, which hearkens back to God's warning that if Adam chose to disobey God in eating of the fruit of the tree of good and evil, "dying you shall surely die." That said, and even though Genesis 5 records the godly lineage of Adam, sin is still having a dire effect upon humanity and Noah is looked forward to as a reprieve. That "rest" will come, although probably not in the way hoped, for later things will get so bad on earth, morally, spiritually, and civilly, that God will have to destroy the human population, minus eight individuals.
Sin is not done in a vacuum, and the extent of sin's effective is often long-lasting and diverse. Such was the case of the first murderer, Cain. After being convicted and judged by God, he leaves the realm of the Eden, starts a family, builds a city, and then manages to influences his offspring to commit further acts of perversion against God, starting with an attack up the sanctity of marriage. Lamech, one of Cain's great, great, great, grandson's takes after him by becoming the Bible's first recorded polygamist. He would set the tone for later and even more perverse attacks upon human relationships, but upon human religiosity, as well. How so? By obligating God to do for him in a seventy-fold way what God did to preserve Cain, even though God was not obligated to Lamech at all! In this short passage, Genesis 4:17-26, are a plethora of examples and lessons we can all learn from, as we all often attempt to obligate God to do things our way, many times under the misconception of "love."
Soon after the fall of man, and God's judgment placed upon creation, a manifestation of the ugliness of sin takes place in Adam's posterity. Adam and Eve begin their family, bearing Cain and his brother Abel. Cain was a farmer. Abel was a sheepherder. Both knew the religious obligations taught to them by their parents, which is why we read of the account of their religious offerings in Genesis 4. Cain's mind, though, was not upon worshiping God, but upon worshiping himself. From God's rejection of his offering, Cain's sin consumed him, and instead of doing what was right, he became enraged toward his brother, Abel, and killed him. God passed judgment upon Cain, even though he apparently never learned his lesson. It is a lesson we can all learn from, whether willfully or amid our own religious departure from the presence of God.
In the previous podcast, Dr. Paul began an exposition of the trial of Adam, Eve, and the devil, and that after Adam and Eve fell from their originally innocent state into sin. In this podcast, Dr. Paul finishes that up that trial by looking at the judgment that God passed on both the woman (Eve) and the man (Adam), which will eventually be passed on to every human being since. It is not a pretty picture, but one that is necessary to understand, if one is to truly understand what the sin nature is, that all humans possess, and the ultimately remedy found on the Gospel, culminating the death of Jesus on the cross at Calvary.
Shortly after Adam and Eve rebel against God, a trial takes place where God acts as the judge, jury, and executioner. Adam and Eve try to avoid attending the trial by hiding themselves. The snake (i.e. the devil) makes no such move. Four key questions are asked, which are relevant even today, as the rest of humanity has followed Adam and Eve's leading in trying to run and hide from God, rather than run unto Him in a contrite and repentant spirit. Such is the nature of sin and what it does to everyone and everything affected by it. Ultimately, though, amid all the questioning and shifting of blame, there is a silver lining in the sense that the Gospel is proclaimed by none other than God himself. One day, the devil himself will be crushed by one of the Eve's offspring, which will finalize what it means by "good news" to those privy to acknowledge what God does in the person of Jesus Christ at Calvary.
In a pivotal and key portion of the Bible (Genesis 3:1-7), Dr. Paul discusses the Fall of Man and how it came about. Satan, as the serpent, has used the same strategy since his successful exchange with Eve to cause humanity to act autonomously from God and carry on it rebellious ways. It all starts by questioning God's Word, which ultimately leads to questioning God's authority and then integrity. When all is said and done, those who subscribe to the devil's wiles ultimately see him as a great liberator and God as the "bad guy."
In Genesis 2:4-24, the writer returns to the creation narrative and adds a few more details that are not found in Genesis 1. Those details are "generations" or "histories." Moses, as is frequently credited with writing Genesis, tells us that man's constitution was physically made up of "dust" ore elements common to the earth, as well as "the breath of life" from God, thereby making him a "living creature." As Dr. Paul points out, the combination makes it clear that humanity had a beginning at a point in time, and credits God as the supernatural person who brought it to be. It is something that no atheist has an alternative explanation.
Probably the most important part of Genesis 2, even though all that is discusses are important, is the recognition of man's loneliness, and the steps God took to dispel it. From Adam's literal, physical side, God took one of his ribs and formed his "wife." The two would not only reflect the image of God within their marriage relationship, any loneliness that man might suffer, as a human being, would be dispelled. The woman would become a fitting helper, not only as a companion in work, but as one who would help the man fulfill God's commands to be fruitful and multiply. It would be a beautiful relationship that would go right along with God's description of his creation being "very good."
Dr. Paul finishes up his commentary on the last four verse of Genesis 1, which addresses the subject of God charging mankind to "get busy" and fill the earth with human beings and the subjugation of the created order by them. Then, Dr. Paul turns to the subject of God resting on the seventh day. Was God tired from exerting himself too much after creating the heavens and the earth or was God establishing a model to be followed by humans in their work-worship pattern of life?
On the sixth day of creation God finished inhabiting the earth with all the animals, birds, and creatures. But, it was also on that day that he created human beings: the crown jewel of his creation. Not only did the creation of humans give a glimpse into the Trinitarian nature of God by stating, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness," it has left theologians and philosophers with a subject that has been discussed voluminously for centuries. What exactly does the image of God entail? It in this podcast that Dr. Paul touches upon the final aspect of God's creation, namely the image of God, that will have a later effect upon all other doctrines that God will reveal later, and will differentiate the God of the Bible from all other false gods and goddesses created by man.
Secular scientists and philosophers frequently opine about the existence of all that is, but rarely traverse their way back to the origin of existence. It is not that they do not speculate about the age of the universe or perhaps even the age of the earth. It is that it is impossible for the to speak authoritatively, since none of them were around when the universe began, nor were they any human beings around at all! Therefore, they prefer to jump into the middle of the evolutionary model they have created and explain how they believe human beings originated, and then leave the "mythology" of creation origins to others to wrestle with.
The Bible, though, makes it quite clear who created the universe, the earth, and all that inhabits both. It gives a timeline of the order of events, which culminates in the creation of the greatest creature of them all, humanity. In this particular episode, Dr. Paul takes a look at the first five days of creation and what came to be out of nothing on those days. More importantly, Dr. Paul credits God with speaking everything into existence, as he prepared the heavens and the earth for the arrival of mankind; God's crown jewel of creation. It is something that certain secularists are willing to keep an open mind, while others repel amid their hostility and vanity, as they suppress the truth in unrighteousness.
One of the best ways to understand God's creation and man's place in it is to go back to the beginning when God created all things and then follow the progress of how things went from "very good" to "every intention of the thoughts of [man's] heart was only evil continually." Dr. Paul's new study in the Book of Genesis does just that. He not only credits God for all that is created, but will explain how God managed to recreate fallen mankind later through the sacrifice of His Son—the Second Adam. Until then, the opening episode addresses not only the exclusivity of God in the creation story, but Trinitarian aspect of creation, which argues that God the Father, Jesus, Christ, and the Holy Spirit were present before the foundations of the earth and universe were spoken into existence out of nothing.
In Romans 16:17-27, the Apostle Paul closes his letter to the Roman Christians with instructions that are clearly at odds with today's ideas about diversity, equity, and inclusion. Paul warns the church in Rome about certain characters who would be divisive and scandalous. Those individuals were not only NOT Christians, even though many of them most likely wanted to be thought of as such, they were deceivers who would use Christian talk and flattery to trick the Romans into believing their deceptive, false "gospel." Naivete was something that the Roman Christians did not need to be, but instead, they needed to be wise. By way of application, Paul's instruction needs to be trumped from the roof tops today, in an age where false prophets and teachers abound, and have taken many well-meaning individuals hostage through cunning and deceit.
Lastly, the Apostle Paul offers a short doxology, glorifying God through the Lord Jesus, and especially for the gospel message that was a "mystery," but is now fully revealed in the person of Jesus. Thank God for his grace! Thank God for his revelation! Thank God for his Son, who willing paid the sin debt of humanity in-full, so that sinners "may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in" Jesus. Amen!
As Paul begins to close his letter to the Romans, he takes timeout to greet his many friends and fellow co-workers in the Lord. Paul lists 26 individuals by name, along with several others not named specifically. It is further evidence that even though Paul had not founded the church in Rome, his personal influence was acknowledged over the course of the years, as well as the thousands of miles he traveled sharing the "good news" of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. They were his pals, in the vernacular, and those whom Dr. Paul points out are the Christian's only real friends in the world, namely fellow Christians.
As the Apostle Paul approaches the end of his letter to the Roman Christians, he reiterates his plans to visit them prior to journeying further to Spain. There was no more work for him to do, and finally the opportunity had arisen whereby he could now take the gospel to "the end of the earth" (Acts 1:8). Dr. Paul, though, points out that the Apostle's Paul journey was filled with difficulty and intrigue that he probably did not fully anticipate, as was recorded in Acts 21-26. So, Dr. Paul takes some time to discuss those difficulties by alluding to one of the most compelling chapters dealing with Paul's journey just prior to him boarding a ship and sailing for Rome, Acts 26. It is part of the reason why Paul would write the Romans, "I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ" (Rom. 15:29). Amen.
As the Apostle Paul winds down his letter to the Christians in Rome, he reminds them of his call to the Gentiles. That his ministry and priestly service was to spread the gospel to those who had not heard, so that their converted lives would be acceptable to God. Paul was sold-out on his mission, and serves as example to those who claim to be Christians, but seem content in their apathy and complacency.
In Romans 15:8-13, the Apostle Paul stresses the fact of Jesus' servitude to the Jews, as well as the Gentiles. The purpose was to not only reveal the truth of God in a real, tangible way, but to, as Paul wrote, "confirm the promises given to the patriarchs" and "that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy." Paul then resorts to showing from the Law, Writings, and the Prophets how the Gentiles were now a part of God's chosen people, alongside those ethnic Jews that were redeemed by the same principle of faith, through grace. Ultimately, such conversion on the part of God should instill joy and peace, through the Spirit of God, as the believer abounds in a hope that he/she otherwise was without prior to God's grace act of redemption through Jesus Christ.
All kinds of groups these days are clamoring for unity, whether in sports, politics, or even moral standards. The problem with their pleas is that none of them have an objective standard by which to validate the unity effort. In Romans 15:-7, the Apostle Paul addresses the subject of unity within the Christian faith. There were apparently some within the Church at Rome who were mature, except in the area of recognizing their obligation to help the less mature. Paul makes it perfectly clear that we, as Christians, are to bear one another's failings or burdens with the express hope of building others up, rather than tearing them down. Ultimately, though, by preferring other's welfare over ourselves, to the glory of God, an establishment of camaraderie or unity that takes place within the Kingdom of God. The mature become that much more mature, and the weak are matured, as well, as they grow in the image of God unto the glory God.
Fresh off instructing the Roman Christians to cease judging one another, the Apostle Paul drives home his instruction by telling them to refrain from placing any stumbling blocks before each other as well. Instead, they were to focus on what matters in the Christian faith, which is to live by faith and build one another up in the faith. Why? Because not all Christians are equally mature, and some take more time and nurture than others when it comes to understanding the faith they profess, as God works in everyone's lives to form and shape each individual to be God-honoring servants of Jesus Christ. Those who refuse or fail to comply with Paul's command are considered to be acting unfaithfully and hence destroying God's work.
In Romans 14:1-12, the Apostle Paul warns the Roman Christians about condemning fellow Christians regarding the eating of certain foods or worshiping on certain days. In one instance, the condemnation is legalistic, while in the other it is libertarian; both of which are self-indictments when considering the maturity of the Christian who engages in them. Let God do the judging and let the Christian focus on the main things involving the Gospel. For everyone will stand at the Judgment Seat of God one day, and not one Christian will be sitting on God's throne to help Him decide who is deserving of what.
In Romans 13:8-14, the Apostle Paul stresses what Jesus had talked about when asked about the greatest commandment. The exception is Paul addresses human relationships, specifically within the church. Christians are to love one another, and then by way of extension, love others. They were not to be like the world, whereby illicit sex and drunkenness were the order of the day. But they were to exemplify Jesus Christ, refrain from lusts of the flesh, and fulfill the law through the principle of love.
Romans 13:1-7 is probably one of the more controversial passages of Scripture when it comes to Christian conduct. In it the Apostle Paul instructs that all Christians should be in total submission to civil, government authorities. Why? Because Almighty God is the one who has ordained civil government to keep orderliness in society and evil at bay. What God has also done by issuing such an ordination is erase the idea that Christianity should have no part is conducting civil government. It is a major blow to those who believe that government should stress the oft-quoted "separation of church and state" and thereby set up a purely secular state. What God has in mind, though, is that a government that is run in "good" order is the ideal over one that is godless and lawless. For in the former there is orderliness and life, that ultimately glorifies God, while in the latter there chaos and death, that ultimately glorifies the "god of this world."
In Romans 12:14-21, the Apostle Paul continues his practical instruction on the Christian life, and especially that of avoiding hypocrisy, by taking a somewhere different course of action when it comes to dealing with evil. Rather than curse the persecutor, bless him. Rather than act arrogant toward the lowly, commune with them. Rather than taking out one's own vengeance upon evil people, if they happen to be hungry, feed them; if thirsty, give them something to drink. It is similar to what Jesus taught when he told his disciples to "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" and "do good to those that hate you" (Mt 5:44; Lk 6:27).
In Romans 12:9-13, the apostle Paul emphatically stresses the need for all the Christians to exercise their gifts (previously mentioned in Romans 12:6-8) in a non-hypocritical manner. Their love for each other, as well as the Lord, was to be done without compromise or in a two-faced way. Their walk, as Christians, was to be done with zeal, not in laziness and apathy. They were to rejoice in hope, stay patient during times of trouble, and to be constantly in prayer, whether during the mountain peak moments of life or during the valley of the shadow of death times. Paul's admonitions are a prelude to other characteristics consistent with being a true Christian, rather than one who wears his Christianity on his sleeve.
In Romans 12:3-8 the apostle Paul stresses the need for Christian unity amid the diversity of all the members in the body of Christ. This is achieved through humility, rather than haughtiness, and exercising the individuals gifts that have been graced to the individuals, as they serve one another. It is a practical teaching that is an extension of the transformation of the Christian mind, which differentiates his worldview from that of the world.
The Apostle Paul transitions from his discussion about the Jews being placed on the back burner in God's salvific plan to practical discussions in the rest of the Book of Romans about how Christians are to think and live. He begins by looking at the sacrificial lives of the Christians versus the schematized world of unbelief. Too many Christians have yielded to the nonsense of the secular world that Christianity is not something to be personally contemplated; that a great gulf is fixed between faith and "science," which can never be bridged. That, though, is not what Paul argues in Romans 12:1-2. He points out that Christianity is not only a thoughtful faith, but completely logical and reasonable, with the starting point in the will of God, as opposed to the world, which ultimately resides in fallen humanity.
In Romans 11:25-36, the apostle Paul reveals that something mysterious has happened to the Jews that has led to the salvation of the Gentiles. The Jews have been "hardened" or made unreceptive of God's "good news." This came about through their rejection of their Messiah, and now God has turned to the "other sheep" that Jesus spoke about just before his crucifixion. Those "other sheep" are now those to whom the apostle Paul has been appointed, the Gentiles. God's ministry to them, although not totally exclusive of some Messianic Jews who will be redeemed, as well, is His focus until "the fullness of the Gentiles" is complete. That will be followed-up by a mass conversion of Jews at the end of human history on earth.
Although the Apostle Paul had commended the Christians at Rome for their faith (Rom. 1:8), there was a problem that needed to be addressed. Pride had crept in and caused some to look down on their Jewish counterparts. Such pride was not indicative of a true Christian faith and Paul had to issue a warning to remind those at Rome that it is only because of what God had done, by grace, that they were now a part of what was, at one time, exclusive to the Israelites. It is a warning that even Christians today should take heed; to make sure that if a person claims to be a Christian, that that assurance is based solely on God's grace through faith, and nothing else. Lest such boasting lead to being "cut off" or cast out of God's presence later when giving an account to the Lord Jesus Christ (see Matt. 7:21-23).

In Romans 11:1-12, the Apostle Paul explains what has happened to the Nation of Israel when God turned from them to the Gentiles. Is Israel finished, now, as God's covenant people? God has not rejected the Jews, has he? Of course not! So, what happened? They're currently occupying the land called Israel, but they're having so many problems. And what about the Gentiles? They were not God's people before. Why are they now? In this podcast, Dr. Paul explains the Apostle Paul's responses to key questions, and how that even though it might seem that Israel is kaput, due to their rejection of Jesus Christ as its Messiah, there is still a remnant; a remnant that will only get bigger when God is done dealing with the Gentiles.
Too many in contemporary Christianity have a warped view of evangelism. To them, they are the means that the Holy Spirit uses to reach the lost through the latest technological wizardry or emotively driven hoopla, oftentimes leaving out the gospel altogether. The apostle Paul makes it perfectly clear that saving faith comes through hearing the proclamation of the gospel, which entails telling the "dead" the truth about his/her deadness. That the gospel is centered in sound biblical teaching as the final authority, or something that Paul's Jewish brethren were very aware of, yet completely missed out on amid their obstinacy and hardheartedness.
In Romans 10:1-13, the apostle Paul continues his discussion and concern for his Jewish brethren, expressing how they managed to miss what God's righteousness is all about, even though they were quite religious otherwise. Jesus Christ is the goal of that righteousness, and the law is what drives a person to it. Those who try to circumvent that reality with their own brand of "ignorant" or "idiotic" righteousness will only leave them ashamed one day, as they stand before God in judgment unable to excuse themselves.

As is the apostle Paul's writing style, he repeated interacts with objections and arguments that he had experienced in the immediate context or from those throughout his ministry. Romans 9:19-33 is another classic example of Paul dealing with those who would object to God's absolute sovereignty in matters pertaining to the election of God's children. In fact, Paul broaches the subject of double predestination, whereby a remnant are chosen for "honorable use," while others are left to themselves for "dishonorable use." The latter of which are for a demonstration of God's power toward those receiving the riches of His glory.
Starting in Romans Chapter 9 and running through Chapter 11, the apostle Paul begins to address the plight of Israel. Israel had been provided so much, but still were incapable of fulfilling what God had promised to it. In this episode, Dr. Paul addresses the apostle Paul's revelation that God is absolutely sovereign in His selection over who receives His mercy and compassion, and those who don't.
The apostle Paul concludes his argument for eternal security in Romans 8:28-39 by not only assuring the reader that regardless of life's events, everything works to the good to those that love God. He then turns to asking three questions concerning who was able to condemn those who were previously declared incapable of being condemned. In each case, although Paul did not necessarily need to provide an answer, he does anyway, and the conclusion is nobody! In fact, there are no circumstances, whether death or life, angels or rulers, things going on right now, nor in the future, will be able to separate one of God's children from him. It is a message of hope that blood-bought Christians need to hear, given that many still believe it is incumbent upon them to secure what God had already accomplished before the foundation of the world.
Christianity is a long walk and with that walk comes much suffering, struggle, and pain. But, there is hope. Hope that only God in his infinite wisdom, love, and care can instill in those who are destined for glory. In Romans 8:18-27, the apostle Paul addresses the hope laid out for not only the Christian, but for all of creation that was subjected to the effects of the fall of mankind way back in the beginning of man's existence upon the earth. To assist in the realization of that hope, as the Christian strives, one step at a time, toward his/her consummation as a child of God, the Holy Spirit intercedes with his own "groanings too deep for words." It is part and parcel of the assurance that the Christian is no longer condemned, and is indeed one of God's own.
After the apostle Paul's previous exposition on the prevalence and influence of sin in his Christian life, he now turns to the security he, and other Christians, has because of his position "in Christ." Romans 8:1-17 is a classic statement, in other words, on the doctrine of eternal security. That regardless of the effects of continued in sin, that Paul talks about in Romans chapter 7, in a person's life, as the flesh and the spirit wage "war," no one will lose their familial standing with God as His children. It is something that all Christians need to know and embrace as part of the "good news" that God wrought when He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to "condemn sin" in the flesh.
In probably one of the most important sections of the Book of Romans, at least from the Christian perspective and trying understand why a Christian commits sin or continues to commit sin, is Romans 7:13-25. Although the genuine Christian is blood-bought from the slave market of sin, sin continues to indwell the Christian, as it wars against the spirit. Those who fail to understand this often end up being led astray into various forms of thought that assert the Christian MUST do this or MUST do that to retain his salvation. Such is not what the Apostle Paul taught in this passage as Dr. Paul explains.
In the Apostle Paul's quest to explain the place of the Law in the Christian's life, he uses the ordinance of marriage as a metaphor to show difference between living under the law and living by the Spirit. So, long as a person is married, they cannot marry anyone else. In turn, as soon as the spouse dies, then the spouse that is still living is free to marry another. The Christian or person who has been born of God is no longer under the covenant of marriage by law, but has died to it and is now under the covenant of grace through Christ via the Spirit. That is not to say that the law is unholy or unrighteous. It is to stay that it only serves to expose sin for what it is, and as a moral guide, not to exact grace or salvation from God, but to teach of of our need for God's grace that is given freely.
Many cults argue that unless a person keeps the law, even though it is something the cult has created and has nothing to do with biblical law, then that is an effective argument against being saved by grace alone. The Apostle Paul answers this challenge in Romans 6:15-23 by counter-arguing that (1) even though a person is living by grace, that does not give him/her license to sin; (2) the law is of no effect, since the Christian should use it as a moral standard for moral living; (3) a person is a slave to the person/thing he is obedient toward, whether toward the law, which brings death, or toward God, which brings eternal life. Ultimately, the law is to lead a person to Christ, whereby the Christian is introduced to God's grace, which is unmerited, not merited. Moreover, depending on where a person puts his/her allegiance, he becomes enslaved thereby and garners the fruit of that allegiance amounting to eternal death or eternal life.
Up until Romans 6, the Apostle Paul has addressed the depravity of man, and then the solution to that depravity, culminating in the teaching of the justification by grace through faith alone. That said, Paul had his detractors and challengers then, as there are many, some even claiming to be "Christians," who disagree with him. Oh, it's not that they may mouth the words grace, faith, and salvation. It's that they disagree, based usually on a faulty understanding of James 2:26: "…faith apart from works is dead." They believe, in other words, that reconciliation, redemption, or regeneration is a co-oped effort on the part of the sinner and God. God does his part, and when it comes to salvation, the sinner does his part, too, by working certain works or keeping certain strictures or laws that the sinner believes will be enough to merit God's favor (i.e. grace). The Apostle Paul meets that challenge in Romans 6:1-14 by making it clear that just because grace is the means leading to salvation, that does not mean the Christian has an open license to do what he wants to merit more of God's grace. That would include include attempting to establish one's own righteousness via law-keeping, which is completely at odds with what Paul had already revealed, "…that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law." It is a message that everyone needs to hear, especially among many well-meaning Christians who are living contradictory or dismal lives under the assumption that they must do something to gain what God said was free.
The first human being, Adam, sinned against God by disobeying him and then set out to be his own autonomous, free agent. Adam's rebellion brought condemnation on all of his offspring, including you and I. Christ, conversely, by obeying God, even to the point of going to the cross, brought reconciliation, forgiveness, justification, and eternal life to those who trust in him. Whereas Adam, fell short of God's glory, as the first man, Christ, who was incarnated, was God's glory, and has restored what real humanity was intended. By failing to understand the first Adam only leads to failure to understand the last Adam.
The Apostle Paul makes a shift in his argument in Romans 5:1-11. Having finished his exposé of human depravity and the basis for godly justification through the example of Abraham, he now turns to the results of being "justified by faith." The believer has peace with God, access to God's grace, and hope in the glory of God. And all of it was because of what the Lord Jesus Christ had done on the cross. Of course, in the coming chapters, there will be some that present arguments to challenge Paul's version of the gospel, but for now his focus are on the results, and they are assuring to say the least.

Following up on what God revealed to the Apostle Paul concerning Abraham as an example of faith, he now turns to the promise made to him and his progeny. Not only would Abraham be promised many children, even though he and his wife Sarah were well beyond their child-bearing years, he would also become the father of many nations that would occupy a certain trek of land that would later be deemed the Holy Land. Later, the blessing to the world would come through the person of Jesus Christ, who be born through a lineage leading back to Abraham. Those who place their faith in Jesus are guaranteed the very promise of eternal life that was extended to Abraham when he was declared righteous by believing in God.

The Apostle Paul has made it clear than no person will be justified by keeping the law or performing personally satisfying works. Instead, only those who are blessed with salvific faith from God, as a gift, will be justified. In this podcast, Dr. Paul examines the Apostle Paul's prime example of real faith in the Old Testament person of Abraham. In Romans 3:21-31, the Apostle Paul turns from his lengthy exposition concerning the depravities of humanity to how God has moved to overcome them. After pointing out the failure to keep the law, mainly because the point of the law was to expose sin for what it is, namely abject rebellion against God, Paul turns to the principle of faith. Unwavering, dependence, and reliance upon the person of Jesus Christ, apart from the law, is what appeases God and delivers the sinner from death unto life. That said, however, the law is still relevant as a moral guide for the saint. This is something that is sorely missing in contemporary Christianity, where it is often taught that because the Christian is "saved by grace," the law is now somehow obsolete. Such is not true, as both the Apostle Paul and Dr. Paul make clear.

In Romans 3:1-20, the Apostle Paul wraps up his lengthy discourse on the natural man by not only accounting for the benefit of being a Jew, but by delivering a scathing 14-point indictment again both Jew and Greek for ALL being under sin. Why? Because even though the Jew had the "oracles" or very words of God, he was unable to keep the law—perfectly. His sin, like that of the Greek or pagan, kept him from being able to perform what God required in order to live the virtuous life while on earth, as well as to be able to earn himself eternal life in heaven. Conversely, the depravity that ALL men, women, and children are infected with have left them with no righteous stance before God, without understanding, or even wanting to seek God. Ultimately, all human beings face the indictment of having no fear or reverential respect for God. It is a dire condition that makes the gospel all the more necessary in order to escape God's wrath.

Romans 2:12-29 is the focus of this podcast, where Dr. Paul looks at the Apostle Paul's revelation concerning those who hear the law, if they happen to be under it, which the Gentiles were not, and the doers of the law, which involved the Jews, who never kept it. All are under God's judgment, in other words, and between the law and the gospel, the "secrets" of all men, women, and children will be revealed. Why? Because all are sinners. In fact, just because someone claims to be what Dr. Paul calls a "true Jew," and has all the outward hallmarks of circumcision, or baptism, if a person is a Christian, does not mean that that person is one. Circumcision of the heart through spiritual regeneration by the Spirit, and not through the works or "letter of the law," is what makes a Jew/Christian true.

Everyone who is not a Christian is a rank-and-file hypocrite. He or she has set himself up as a moral arbiter of the truth while suppressing the truth about God, sometimes without even realizing that that is exactly what he or she has done. Others have actively denied or suppressed the truth about God and then set themselves upon as judges of what is right and wrong, moral and immoral. Yet, by doing so, they end up committing the same "sins" that they condemn. The Apostle Paul, in his continuing exposition of the Book of Romans, spells this out quite clearly. It is all the more reason why the gospel is absolutely necessary to free the natural man from his hypocrisy. Otherwise, the best that the lost or "dead in trespasses and sins" have to look forward to is God's wrath and fury, the former of which the natural man continues to store up, day-by-day, until the Day of God's final Judgment arrives.

Romans 1:24-32 provides a dire description of the natural man who spends his time "suppressing the truth" about God, and then thinks he is wise for doing so. Those "dead in trespasses and sins" (Eph 2:1-2) go from dishonoring God to dishonoring their own bodies via one sexual perversion after another, and then on to the anti-social sins, which include being filled with "envy, murder, strife, deceit," and "maliciousness." And the Apostle Paul is just getting started! Moreover, his description is seen today, in all its blaze and glory, in movements like the LGBTQ, Antia, and BLM. Too many people wish to think of God as purely a God of love. He would never be angry, much less would he even hurt a fly. As fluffy as such thinking is, it is not what God has revealed about himself in Scripture. Oh, yes, "God is love," alright (1 Jn 4:8, 16), but, he is also a God of wrath; wrath against sin, ungodliness, and unrighteousness. Romans 1:16-17 is the overarching theme for the rest of Paul's letter to the Christians in Rome. In fact, it is the definitive statement about Christianity. In it the Apostle Paul emphatically declares his lack of shame over the gospel, since in it contains the righteousness of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Of course, the gospel could be understood as (1) God's "good news" for those "dead in trespasses and sins," that they can now be forgiven, redeemed, and regenerated because of what Jesus Christ did at the cross, OR (2) the person of Jesus Christ himself. He IS God's righteousness and "good news" for lost humanity. By placing one's faith, which is given by God (Rom 12:3), in the gospel, the Christian can begin to lead an eternal life, already promised from before the foundations of the world, even though he still walks the earth with all the struggles and blessings that come from everyday life. So, come take another step with Dr. Paul, as he unfolds another powerful passage that God has graciously given to those eager to hear from Him.

The Apostle Paul had made numerous plans to visit Rome, but had been thwarted each time. Paul makes it evidence that, perhaps, this time, he was going to make it. He longed to see the Roman Christians, even though this was one church that he never started. What he wanted to do while among the Christians in Rome was to strengthen them, as well as be encouraged. He was obligated by his call as a "slave" and an apostle carry his mission to everyone: both Greeks and barbarians, to the wise and the foolish. This section of Romans is easily applicable to Christians today, even though oftentimes those reading it, blow past it, without giving it much thought. Dr. Paul hopes to encourage the podcast listener to slow down just a bit and consider the heart-felt conviction of the Apostle Paul in these seemingly insignificant opening words about what Christian ministry is about.

The Apostle Paul was one of the most prolific writers in the New Testament. His greeting to the Romans Christians in Romans 1:1-7 is the most outstanding of any of his letters. It is literally chocked full of theological information and personal insight unseen anywhere else. Second, Dr. Paul examines the Roman Catholic idea of the gospel. Time permitting, he will show how tradition corrupts both.

Dr. Paul reconstructs the deconstructionist ideology by pointing out the many fallacious presuppositions the deconstructionist has adopted to try and make it sound plausible. By pointing out the fallacies of assuming that person rearing in a Christian home makes one a Christian, that everyone inherently possesses unbridled, unhindered "free will," and that personal experiences or church membership makes a person a Christian, Dr. Paul shows from Scripture that none of those things are true, and hence the deconstructionist has deceived him- or herself.
Also, Dr. Paul turns relationship counselor toward the end of the program when a young man calls in for advice. Who would have thunk it? Dr. Paul supplants Dr. Phil.
It is becoming a growing fad among many who seem to think they were once Christians, and now because they are enlightened, reasonable, or logical, they are no longer Christians. Christianity is a ”myth” to them. They are rational and no longer religious. But, have any one of them truly ”deconstructed,” much less ”deconverted” from Christianity? Or have they simply been fed a line of diabolic nonsense from some secular humanist philosophy professor, coupled with egregious discipleship at their former churches, and are now useful idiots (in the biblical sense) for the "Liberal" (a misnomer) agenda?

Another article was published recently describing the apostasy that is prevalent in the "Church." The idea conveyed by the author is that apostasy is leading the way for the Antichrist to be successful in duping many people upon his arrival. Dr. Paul contends that apathy among many of those same churchgoers is rife, as well, and will only add to the misery they will experience. So, what can be done? Complain to our political leaders? Pass more laws to allow prayer in school? Ask God to rapture everyone that's worthy of being raptured? What?
The Book of Revelation is choked full of mystery and intrigue. But, according to the Apostle John, those who read, listen, and put its words to practice will be blessed by it. So, why would anyone despise it? Dr. Paul takes a look at some of its themes, including the ransom by blood of the Lamb of God, the spurious rapture doctrine, the stubbornness of the wicked, the mark of the beast, the coming of the Lord, the Great White Throne Judgment of the "dead," and the new heavens and new earth.
Did you know that Christians still sin, but that confessing sin is something that God will forgive (and forget) and wipe the slate clean? Did you know that the devil has children too? Did you know that one definition of love is to live a life that obeys God's commandments? Did you know that a Christian is NOT to imitate evil, but to imitate good? Did you know that Christians are to contend for the faith, because certain ungodly people have crept into the faith and are perverting the doctrine of grace? Did you know that Jesus and the apostle predicted that scoffers of Christianity would come, and that to suffer persecution by them is actually a good thing? These are only a few things found in the Letters of John and Jude. They are some of the things that cause some to love the Bible and others to hate it. The Apostle Paul's final letters, otherwise known as the Pastoral Epistles, become the objects of Dr. Paul's continuing survey of what is in the Bible that causes some people to love and others to hate it. What did the Apostle Paul have to say about getting rich quick? Is money really evil? What is the end result of those who attempt to serve money and God?
Also, what did Paul have to say about sound doctrine and the end times? What compels people to reject the Bible, especially among so-called "Christians," and what is their end for doing so?
In Paul's letter to Titus, there is mention of that controversial, at least to some, doctrine the "Trinity" that has cropped up in association with salvation. Why is it that most Evangelical churches fail to discuss the Trinity with those they are attempting to share the gospel with? Are they ashamed of it or are they simply oblivious as to its importance?
Lastly, slavery was a common practice in New Testament times, and Philemon was a slave owner. Paul considered Philemon a "brother" in Christ, but Paul was also housing and mentoring Philemon's slave, Onesimus. In a day and age where slavery and "reparations" is hot and heavy, what does Paul's letter to Philemon have to say about the Christian attitude toward slaves, and how, by way of application, can Paul's commentary serve in the ongoing discussion of slaves, slavery, and perhaps even employment, in general?
Dr. Paul surveys, briefly, the contents of the Apostle Paul's letters to the Philippians, Ephesians, and Thessalonians to find a possible answer the question of why some people love them and others to hate them.
Dr. Paul continues his survey of the Bible, particularly the Apostle Paul's letters to the Galatians and Ephesians. He looks at the legalistic challenges the Galatian believers faced, as well as the important of grace that the Ephesians were seemingly neglecting. Then Dr. Paul wrestles with how the law (or works), God's "unmerited favor," and autonomy are such stumbling blocks for both believers and unbelievers, and they oftentimes misinterpret what God has revealed in their quests to love or hate God.
Continuing his series on the love/hate reaction some people have toward the Bible, Dr. Paul looks at his letters to the Romans, Corinthians, and Galatians. While trying to interact with listeners to the LIVE version of the podcast, Dr. Paul points out that there is no such thing as an atheist, based on what the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 1:19. From there, Dr. Paul deals with the problem of "sin within" ALL persons, but especially Christians, and why recognizing it for what it is can help those same persons overcome repeating them. From there Dr. Paul addresses the morally struggling church at Corinth and why unregenerate ("natural" people cannot understand the things of God (1 Cor 2:14) and why it is absolutely imperative that the Christians "destroy" the arguments and religious edifices that the unregenerate erect against God and Christ (2 Cor 10:4-6). Finally, Dr. Paul deals with the dire consequences of accepting or preaching a false gospel (Gal 1:8).
Dr. Paul continues his series dealing with the contents of the Bible, in a survey type way, to answer the question of why some people love it, while others hate it. In this podcast, he looks at the Gospels and Acts of the Apostles. Specifically, he defines what the Gospel is and why it is "good news." Also, he discusses the abuse of Matthew 7:1 ("Judge not that ye be not judged"), the reality of eternal hell (Lk 16:19-31), and the deity of Jesus found in John 1:1-3, 14. Dr. Paul then looks, briefly, at the Book of Acts and addresses the exclusivity of Jesus' name (Acts 4:12), the abrogation of the Old Testament dietary laws and the Apostle Peter's vision (Acts 10:14), and finally the importance of Scriptural authority and the Bereans in Acts 17:11.
In Part 3 of this series on the love/hate relationship some people have with the Bible, Dr. Paul takes us through the rest of the Old Testament from the nation of Israel's entrance into the Promised Land to the minor prophets. Along the way he stops to point out what are irritants to the autonomous and blessings to those who willing to obey God. Also, he draws the comparisons of Israel's rebellious history to what is currently happening today, as God's people, especially in the United States, are living in abject rebellion against God, whereby God is now rewarding them with the fruits of their rebellious labor.
Dr. Paul continues his survey of the Bible's contents by looking at the devastating effects of sin that led to the building of Noah's Ark and the eventual establishment of God's covenant with Noah and the resulting rainbow sign. Then Dr. P discusses the Tower of Babel, the call of Abraham and his precedent-setting faith. Also, a story that many non-believers, secularists, and sexual perverts hate, Sodom and Gomorrah, is discussed, and how it provides an example of what happens when people turn their backs on God. Finally, Dr. P looks at the Ten Commandments and how they are still relevant today for both believers and non-believers.

Those who have not tend to despise it, simply because they either think it is a fanciful fairy tale or that it is totally irrelevant, and no one is going to tell them what to do. A whole new onslaught is taking place these days upon the Bible. Why? Because it is being compared to the illicit and salacious writings of those fostering a perverse agenda that wants to target young children. That said, the overall view of the Bible among Christians and Christian leaders is at an all-time low. Fewer and fewer so-called "Christians" have a biblical worldview, which is helping Bible critics, pagans, and sexual deviants to push their propaganda and lead American society off an immoral cliff.
Dr. Paul not only knows that the Bible is defensible, but who it is that should be making the defense. In this podcast he points out some of the flaws of those who presuppose the Bible is errant, irrelevant, or pornographic and unfit for young children's attention. He then challenges the Christian to get off his/her lazy backside and get busy challenging those who make such charges. The alternative or consequence is face God's judgment, much like the nation of Israel did when it chose to not to "listen" to God and then forsake him altogether.
The Apostle Paul made it clear that, "All Scripture is inspired by God, and is profitable" for a wide variety of things pertaining to faith and practice. So, why is it that a growing number of people are in abject disagreement with Paul's assessment? Why are they presupposing that some liberal "scholar's" opinion is more authoritative than Paul's? Why do they presuppose that their own implicit authority in all matters pertaining to life, morals, and reality trumps what God has said about each? Could it be that as each day lived in these "last days," we are seeing the very thing promised by God through Paul taking place, and yet those involved in all the rancor and hostility toward God, the Bible, and Christianity are unable to see, much less understand, that they are fulfilling prophecy found in the very book they say is not inspired by God? That "the time is coming when people will not endure [tolerate] sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions"?

In this podcast, Dr. Paul concludes the two-part series by discussing systematic theology, apologetic/polemic theology, ethical theology, and practical theology. Although all of the "cures" are intertwined, and are subject to sound systematic theology, they are distinct in what they have to offer by assessing and solving what ails mankind.
American and the world is facing an emergency, as Dr. Paul et al have pointed out before. Morally, ethically, spiritually, economically, etc., the Christian church has lost its way and the end result is a developing tragedy whereby it has invited the judgment of God. In the first of two parts, Dr. Paul discusses eight theological cures for the emergency, or departure from God and godliness, by discussing exegetical, biblical, historical, and philosophical theology.
In the previous podcast, Dr. Paul broached the subject of the theological emergency that besets humanity. It is an emergency that has been going on for almost a hundred years, if not longer, and the "abyss" that mankind stands over is not getting any better. Humanity is on the verge of facing a catastrophe, if not simply the wrath of God. It is something that Dr. Paul wishes to avert.
In this podcast, Dr. Paul begins to address the emergency by answering the following questions. Why is theology necessary? Who does theology? Where is theology done? How is theology done? And, when is theology done? By answering these basic questions, it is hoped that the listener will become more cognizant of the importance of doing theology correctly, and that by doing theology correctly the emergency will cease and humanity can, perhaps, start honoring God, as he deserves, and humans will treat each other as the image-bearers of God that they are.
J. Gresham Machen identified an emergency taking place within American society nearly a hundred years ago that is still ongoing today. That emergency is theological error. It involves many, if not most, "Christians," who trust in a false god, a false Jesus, and a false worldview, which ends up promoting a false worldview. Such a promotion births byproducts such as all the political turmoil we see today that many believe will resolve the ills and evils that effect society. Dr. Paul agrees with Machen that the real emergency is not going to be tended to by voting for the right President or throwing huge sums of money into a social program. It is only going to be addressed when God's people get back to God's Book and start learning of Him. Then, and only then, will they have an answer to ALL the problems inherent in godless politics, education, social media, et cetera. Failure to learn will eventually result in catastrophe.
Dr. Paul concludes his series on those who are occupying, and those who will occupy, hell, namely the spiritually unregenerate. His biblical reference is Galatians 5. However, the last half of the live broadcast deals with how God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit work and move to redeem those who are the sons and daughters of God. It is what the "good news" or gospel is all about. If you're not sure of your eternal destiny, then you need to listen. If, after listening, you continue in your unbelief, then at least you'll know for certain where you will end up shortly after closing your eyes in death. God have mercy.
Eighty percent of people polled believe that they are going to heaven one day. Jesus said otherwise. Dr. Paul continues his examination of the subject of the occupants of hell by discussing those who are thieves, greedy, drunks, slanderers, and swindlers. Combined with the previous podcasts and long list of vices that enslave people, it becomes quite clear that too many are relying on not only a distorted view of themselves, but a distorted view of just what hell is about, as well as its permanency for those who enter its gates.
In Part 3 of Dr. Paul's discussion about those who will occupy hell, or are already occupying it, he looks at what the Apostle Paul has to say about the subject from his first letter written to the church at Corinth. In a long list, Paul starts out with the sexually immoral, those commit idolatry and adultery, and then the homosexual crowd, all of which are prominent with approval by many today. If it is true that the current life that many lead today is the only heaven they will ever know, then the way they live it amid the variety of sexual perversion they embrace will be forever regretted once they pass through the gates of hell.

Uvalde, Texas parents cried out to Joe Biden to "Do something," about their children being shot. It is a cry that is being heard all across America. But, just what can he do? Nothing. Ted Lieu, a leftist congressman from California, recently took the the House floor in Washington, D.C., and argued that Jesus had nothing to say about homosexuality. Of course, he, like so many on the left, as well as in the LGBTQXYZ crowd, have concocted a fictitious Jesus to appeal to, as their idol has nothing to do with the Bible. So, after a few short seconds of making appeals to the Washington Post to condemn those on the Right for their efforts to try and a damper on the perverse effort to recruit our children into their perversion, Ted stood silent for 23 seconds to make his specious point. Jesus said nothing about homosexuality! But, is Ted correct or was he simply demonstrating his ignorance of who Jesus is and what the Bible, as the Word of God (who happens to be Jesus), really says about the homosexual "abomination"? Dr. Paul points out that it is the latter. Jesus, as God, had plenty to say about homosexuality, and it is in direct contradiction to everything Ted and the LGBTQ crowd contend.
In Ames, Iowa, another shooting just took place. It follows on the heels of the Uvalde, Texas school shooting, which followed the recent rampage in Buffalo, New York. Politicians are scrambling to do something to appease the hurting and angry crowds, but are their solutions really addressing the real problem centered in the heart of humanity? Dr. Paul says, "No!" There is an even bigger problem, and there is only one solution. It's not popular and it certainly will be mocked. But, unless the problem and solution are addressed, then hell awaits a country already under siege by those intent on completely destroying its biblical foundation.

Although tornadoes are not necessarily new, and most people will never see one in their lifetimes, when they occur it often leaves many wondering why. Why me? Why my hometown? Why at all? And if it is not a tornado that turns life upside-down, it is something else. A sudden death from a heart attack. A friend or family member is stricken with a debilitating disease. Or may it is something as simple as the loss of a job. Why is there so much pain and suffering in the world? It all seems so senseless at times. One of the characteristics of New Testament churches, perhaps even more so during the last days prior to the return of Jesus Christ, will be how lackadaisical they will be or will become. John the beloved points this out in the Book of Revelation. Apathy, though, does not please God. In fact, it makes Him sick; sick to the point of vomiting such churches out of His mouth, which is an unusual expression to describe just how full of contempt God gets towards congregations that become so complacent that they believe that have it all, when they have nothing. That said, God still invites such churches to repent, even though His patience will eventually run out, as is evidenced by the fact that the Laodicean church has long since been deserted. Jesus's message given through John is a dire warning that many contemporary churches fail to heed.
It this episode Dr. Paul talks about the heightened sense of demonism or demonic behavior that seems prevalent throughout society. Mean-spirited comments, insults, or simply physical violence toward those attempting to express themselves, especially about the recent election, is common these days. What is the solution, particularly if a person claims to be a Christian? Put on the whole armor of God and then stand, argued the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6. For the ultimate source of all the hostility is not those wielding the weapons of violence, or holding political offices and imposing tyrannical rule. It is the demonic hierarchy that exists in the heavenlies that influence the minds of those under their control.
During the Press Conference in Washington, D.C. on November 19, 2020, one of the lawyers by the name of Jenna Ellis, who has been hired by President Donald Trump issued a challenged to the press to read The Federalist Papers, Number 68. It is a short essay written by Alexander Hamilton on The Mode of Electing a President. In it Hamilton explains the safeguards taken to protect the integrity of the Presidential election, which clearly in the most recent election were undermined. Several, during Hamilton's day, thought that the process they had put into operation, which included the Electoral system, was "pretty well guarded." Not only was the electoral system effective at keeping foreigners from stealing an election, but Americans, who might be disgruntled, from doing the same by creating factions to do the same. Dr. Paul, therefore, spends the podcast hour reading the actual text of Federal Paper Number 68, affirming along the way the very argument that Jenna Ellis made during the Press Conference.
As was expected, there are all kinds of problems now occurring with the U.S. Presidential Election. In fact, as of this program, we do not know who the President is. And why is that? Is it because of the expected rioting in the streets? No. Is it because Donald Trump refuses to conceded defeat? No. Is it because Joe Biden cannot be found, because he's found a hollow log to take a nap in? No. It's because of all the alleged corruption that is now taking place in key states. Whereas at one time it appeared the Donald Trump would be re-elected, there is now the appearance of ballot harvesting and tampering that is stalling the process. It looks like Joe Biden could win, which in Dr. Paul's opinion is going to invite the judgment of God on the nation.
Well, it's finally here: Election Day. While many stressed out, almost to the max, worrying about how the election might go, Dr. Paul cruised in and out without any problems. Now, what may happen later may cause some angst, but as far as the voting process itself, it was as breeze.
Today, Dr. Paul was asked by someone who was hostile to his stance on Joe Biden, "What are you going to do IF Joe wins?" Weeping, prayer, and confession of sin, much like those found in the Book of Nehemiah (ch. 1) and 2 Chronicles 7. It's just that the hostile would never understand those responses (1 Cor. 2:14), but would mock them. So be it. The response remains the same. Dr. Paul is hoping and praying that God's favor will continue to be upon the United States by reappointing Donald J. Trump to the Presidency, but he also understands that God will give the U.S. the leader that it deserves. And if the U.S. deserves judgment, then Biden will win. It is an ominous thought, but a very real one too. Either way, to God be the glory.

Continuing on with the study of the Book of Revelation, Dr. Paul addresses churches five and six of the seven listed by the Apostle John. Sardis's claim to fame was nothing to brag about, as it looked like a Christian church outwardly, but it was dead within. In other words, it resembled what many liberal churches look like today, having the "reputation," or at least the name "Christian" in their name, but are filled with heretical teachings that caused their deaths. A warning to "wake up" was given to at least some who had not stained themselves with all the heresies floating about. It is a warning that few heeded then, as they continue to refuse to heed today.
Then, there was the polar opposite Church at Philadelphia. As an enduring church, it would not put up with those claiming to be Jews, much like the Church at Smyrna. The church loved Jesus and kept God's commands with the assurance that one day it would be protected from having to face the wrath of God yet to come for all the liars dwelling on the earth. This is a broadcast/podcast highlighting two different churches with distinct messages that are very much relevant today.
Dr. Paul continues his examination and analysis to answer the question of why we are seeing so much corruption in human behavior today. Although those among the Democrats are definitely leading the way when it comes to sinful behavior, several among the Republican Party are making a competitive showing at trying to outdo their opponents when it comes to lying, cheating, and stealing. And in some cases, the Republicans are even more guilty of sinning against God because of their cowardice to do anything about Democrat improprieties and illegalities. Again, only an exposition of the Word of God, the Bible, provides an answer to the question of why there is so much corruption going on all around us.
Have you ever wondered why there is so much corruption going on these days. A friend of Dr. Paul's did. Democrats are constantly engaging in all kinds of lying, cheating, and stealing, and seemingly so without so much as anyone doing anything about it. The same, to a lesser degree, occurs among Republican, as well. The only way to understand the human condition and why corruption is abounding in all walks of life is to turn to God's Word, the Bible, to see what God has to say about unregenerate, if not degenerate, human behavior. It is not something most people want to hear, but it is true nonetheless.
Continuing with the study of the Book of Revelation, Dr. Paul takes a look at the tolerant or liberal church: the Church at Thyratira. As was typical of at least four other churches that John the Apostle addresses in the Book of Revelation, Thyratira had many things going for it, while also garnering severe criticism for its tolerance of false prophecy and false teaching. That said, some of the members in this small city and church did not succumb to the "deep things of Satan," and so were encouraged to hold fast to things it had learned. If anything this letter to Thyratira is an indication that the alleged rapture that many modern-day Christians and/or Evangelicals are anticipating will happen, will turn out to be something wholly other. Therefore, let those with ears to hear, pay attention to what the Spirit is telling not only the Church at Thyratira, but all Christian churches in existence today.
Supreme Court Justice nominee Amy Coney Barrett informed those on the left that she takes her faith seriously; that being a judge was not a means to an end, but something that was about building the Kingdom of God. But, just what exactly does Justice Barrett's faith consist of, being that she is not only Roman Catholic, but a Catholic involved in the charisma of the Pentecostal movement? Dr. Paul discusses the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement and the People of Praise Christian Community that she admits to being a part. It her "dogma lives loudly within" her, then what exactly does that mean and how will it affect her decision-making if confirmed to serve on the Supreme Court? Is she involved in a cult or is her allegiance to something that is simply another offshoot of mainstream Christianity? The answers may surprise you, as well as all of us, if she indeed does have the votes to take Ruth Bader Ginsberg's place.
In this final episode exposing the beliefs and ideology of "Hardcore" Leftist Supreme Court Judge Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Dr. Paul takes a look at her position on stricter punishment for crime, gun ownership, illegal immigration and making it easier for the illegal alien to obtain citizenship, voter registration, green energy, and marijuana use. Despite all the lauding and eulogizing many have done to make Ginsberg out to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, clearly she was no friend of the Constitution and she certainly was no friend of God's. She was "hardcore," if not simply hardened by her feminism, and did more to destroy the Constitution than to uphold it. Good riddance!
Continuing on with the previous episode, Dr. Paul exposes the "Hardcore" liberalism of former Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Again, denouncing the Leftist's fawning over her passing, Dr. Paul points out that persons of respect do not exclude God from the public square, they do not wish to expand the ruse of Obamacare, oppose school vouchers, oppose stricter punishment for crime, and assert that gun ownership is a collective right, rather than an individual right. Although some might accuse Dr. Paul of stomping on Ginberg's grave, the real intent was to talk about something that few wish to address, which is just how disgusting Ginsberg was as a Supreme Court Justice. That God did everyone a favor by removing her from the bench.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg is dead. Many thought she was God's gift for women. That because of her "hard core" liberal ideas that she imposed upon American law, she should be venerated like a patron saint. Dr. Paul takes exception to all the genuflecting to point out her record as a "Hard Core Liberal." Not only did she sanction the murder of the unborn, but she had no problem embracing the perversion of same-sex marriage, and keeping God at-bay in the public realm. That when the Almighty called her into judgment, she was anything but a saint, and is now suffering for all eternity because of her hard and unregenerate heart.
Unless you've been living in a cave, beneath a rock, in a secluded jungle somewhere in South America, then you should be familiar with the name Jacob Blake. You know, the guy who was shot by police officers for, among other things, rape, violating a restraining order, car theft, resisting arrest, and the what looks like attempted murder of a police officer with a large knife. The latter charge is pending.
What is missing from much of the narrative going on about Jacob Blake is his father, who some assume to be just a grieving individual over what has recently transpired with his son. James Blake, though, is no paragon of moral virtue and it is become of his bitterness and rage that likely rubbed off on his son that has now bloomed to the charges now waiting him in his hospital bed. For James Blake, Sr. is not only an anti-Semite that frequently spits venom in their direction that Louis Farrakhan would approve—probably because Blake supports Farrakhan "100%"—but is a foul-mouthed "Reverend" of the most hypocritical order.
Dr. Paul takes Senior Blake to task in this episode of Dr. Paul Live! for not only Blake's embittered racism and anti-Semitism, but goes on to argue that proper parenting starts early and often by disciplining children in the fear and admonition of God—and not "Allah."
Throughout history Christian churches has demonstrated a wide variety of characteristics, with some good and some bad. Previously, it was observed in the study of the Book of Revelation that the Ephesian church was quite orthodox, while also losing its love for God along the way to orthodoxy. The Church at Smyrna was a persecuted church and despite the Roman government's harassment, stay true to its convictions. In this episode, Dr. Paul looks at the Church at Pergamum, which had compromised itself by teaching heresy and acting in a heavy-handed fashion by lording it over its congregants. The dire warning, as it is for all who claim the name of Jesus Christ as their Savior, is to "repent" or else.
Dr. Paul begins by addressing the miserable ratings that the NBA (National Basketball Association) is receiving lately and the reason why. It has climbed into bed with the Marxist teachings of the Black Lives Matter movement and Americans do not want to hear it. The proof is, they have turned the channels on their television sets to something else. Not only are they sick and tired of being bullied into something they do not believe in, so is Dr. Paul, who gave up on the NBA years ago because of its narcissistic, sloppy play.
But, the real subject in this episode is Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, who is now being forced to move from his current Portland condo. Why? Is the mortgage or taxes too high? No. Have the California wildfires caused so much pollution that the Tedster can no longer see the ocean? No. Then why would he be on the move? The answer is his own corruption. Corruption that has allowed the Antifa/BLM criminal elements in Portland to finally come home to roost on Teddy's doorstep. They are demanding his resignation and until he does, their intent is to remove him by force, even if that means to burn down the building wear he lays his head at night. Dr. Paul points out biblical principle here and it is something that everyone should consider, regarding if Antifa/BLM comes knocking or not.
The hypocrisy surrounding the career of House Democrat Nancy Pelosi is legendary. As a member of Congress, and more recently the House Speaker, rarely a day goes by where Nancy does not fail to do or say something to expose her as the devious hypocrite that she is. Recently, she managed to make a trip to a local hair salon that she visited "for years." Now, some might say, "Yeah, so. What's the big deal about a woman getting her hair done?" The answer is that the salon was supposed to be shut down because of California's draconian mandates handed down by the Governor (Gavin Newsom), which meant that if Nancy was to have her hair done, it was to be at home or maybe far off on a distant planet. To make things worse, though, Nancy is caught on video without her mask on, while getting her hair done. All Californians are supposed to be wearing their masks, especially in businesses—that are open, not closed! Dr. Paul addresses her blatant hypocrisy, even though shortly after program Pelosi is now touting that she was "set up." More on that tomorrow.
Then, there's the illustrious Dr. Fauci, who has suddenly surfaced with the revelation that the CDS's most recent data showing that people are not dying in the manner that Fauci wants them to. As reported on August 27, 2020, the number of people actually dying from the China virus was only 6%, while the remaining 94% had an average of 2.6 other maladies that when combined with the China virus caused them to die with it. This has upset the good doctor and so he has set out to refute anyone who would dare to read the CDC's report for what it is: and exposure of fraud. Of course, with such an exposure, that makes Dr. Fauci a fraud, and worse yet, a liar. He has been lying to the American public all along and Dr. Paul makes that even more emphatic in this latest China virus update.
The Apostle Paul wrote, "all who live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted" (2 Tim. 3:12). Such was the case at Smyrna, where a Christian congregation loved and obeyed Jesus to the point where it suffered dearly for its devotion. Jesus, through the Apostle John, informed them, though, that despite its tribulation and poverty, that it was rich; rich in the sense of spiritual expectation that eternal life was theirs. That said, they were to remain faithful unto death, because the devil was going to put them through trial and testing, probably the likes they had not seen before. The church at Smyrna is one of the seven congregations that John addresses that did not come with a warning from Jesus due to immorality, lack of love, or apathy. Nevertheless, the suffering was worth paying attention to, since to live a godly life entailed being hated by the world, some of whom even claimed to be God's people, the Jews.
Starting in Revelation Chapter 2, verses 1 through 7, is a message from Jesus Christ to the pastor (angel/messenger) of one of Asia's most prominent churches in Ephesus. While the Ephesian church was careful to spot fraudulent apostles and endured the persecution of outsiders for its stance in the name of Jesus Christ, it still fell short in one important aspect of the Christian life. It has lost its first love. No longer did it love God with all its heart, soul, and mind, but had been focused on dead-cold orthodoxy and it needed to repent. The Ephesian church, though, is reminiscent of many churches who have done the same thing. Straight as a arrow doctrinally-speaking, they perform their duties in legalistic fashion and not out of a love for God, even though they may feign a dedication to God that is empty and cold. The message to the Ephesian needed to be take seriously, lest Jesus remove the congregation from existence. It is something all churches today need to consider, as well, lest they soon vanish and that without remedy.
The CDC just tipped its hand lately to let everyone know that the China virus charade was exactly that—a charade. Compiling data from all across the United States, it showed the the actual numbers of deaths directly related to the China virus is not 180,000+ people, but a paltry 9,000+ people. Only 6% of all persons who have contracted the virus have died "from" it, while the remaining 94% of the casualties died "with" the virus. The main causes of death for the vast majority were due to comorbitities or from other maladies on the average of 2.6 of them. All of this is a far cry from the 1 to 2 million deaths that were being forecast by various "experts" only a few months ago. This begs the question of why there is a continuing shutdown of schools, businesses, and entertainment venues. The now exposed charade makes it evident that none of the destruction of American society had anything to do with a "invisible enemy," but a carefully orchestrated plan to attack and unseat a sitting President up for election. In other words, it is more the same coup seen previously, when Leftist Democrats rolled out the Russian collusion hoax and subsequently impeached him based on that charade.
Jacob Blake is a convicted criminal with a rap sheet longer than most people's left arms. Offenses include not only third-degree felony sexual assault, but trespassing, domestic abuse, violating a restraining order, and disorderly conduct. And then there is resisting arrest and assault with a deadly weapon that may or may not be pressed as a result of his run-in with police officers. He was not a nice guy. The greatest thing any Christian will ever see, when he/she reaches the portal of heaven, will be the person of Jesus Christ. John, though, is commanded in the opening verses of Revelation to write down what he sees and it managed to terrify him. The Son of Man with white hair, eyes as a flame of fire, and a sword proceeding out of his mouth, along with a booming voice. The scene, however, is mitigated by the Lord, as he comforts John to let him know that the "Living One" is the loving One and to continue writing what he sees. That the One standing in midst of the churches is the same one who is graciously letting John know He is about to come and that He has as message for all the church leaders that needs to be passed on for everyone to be ready.
Jerry Falwell, Jr. and his wife have fallen into the snare and trap of the devil. As has been reported, they were both involved in sexual impropriety and without getting into all the hearsay, have now been forced to resign their association with Liberty University. But, before both the Christian and non-Christian worlds start dog-piling on them, Dr. Paul points out that but for the grace of God, there we go too. Moreover, despite the glee coming from the secular world over another fallen leader in the Christian world, to be saying anything amounts to absolute hypocrisy on its part, since as the Apostle Paul points out, it is guilty of the very same sin that the Falwell have involved themselves in. The only different being that the Falwells have been forgiven by God and the degenerate world in abject rebellion against God has not. Therefore, we all need to lay down our stones, quit our gossiping, and pray for the Falwells restoration and healing, as James 5:16 points out. Otherwise, what will we do, should the devil come calling to sift us like wheat one day and we end up committing an egregious act of sin that we boastfully asserted previously could never happen to us?

We often well-wish those who have departed this world with the sentiment to, "Rest in Peace." That said, a question has been ask, "Well, if we can wish someone to 'Rest in Peace,' then why cannot we live in peace too? It is a good question. Why cannot human beings, as long as they are alive on earth, live in peace with each other? Why must there be so much fighting, fussing, finagling, just to get an advantage over our neighbors? What do you get when educational, legal, governmental, or even familial settings or systems are based purely on one human being's opinion versus another human being's opinion? That's right. You get absolute chaos and ultimately destruction. In Dr. Paul's discussion on The Problem of Human Autonomy, he briefly goes back in time to a point where human beings started to believe that they could solve their problems with minimal involvement and/or inaction with God's "opinion." He goes on to show how human self-governance apart from godly intervention has always led to decline in civility, if not simply rationality, among humans. From there, in an effort to fill the void, humans then prop up their idols—an act of rationalism—only to turn right around and reject them—an act of irrationalism, culminating in the need to return to God and His Word for guidance.
Mask-wearing is all the rage nowadays. Whereas at one time people grimaced over the thought of having to wear a mask out in public, with designer masks and a whole lot of social conditioning brought on by China virus paranoia, it have become an accepted, although very unhealthy, practice. A case-in-point, as to the unhealthiness, was recently seen in a Duke University study on masks and their efficacy. Fourteen mask were evaluated, with only one—the N95 Medical Mask—believed to do any good against contracting the China virus. Of course, the surgical mask that many wear was #2, but upon further consideration as to how the mask was worn and why, it along with the remainder of contraptions placed on people's faces was determined to be basically useless.
The findings come as no surprise to Dr. Paul, who has been pointing out all along that wearing a mask—along with "social distancing" measures—was an act in futility. The Duke University study only further solidifies that position.
Both amateur and professional critics of Bible have been with us for millennia. Most of the time their criticisms, whether its alleging that books of the Bible are missing or that somehow the biblical text has been corrupted, and therefore, it is no longer reliable or authoritative, are either weak or rehashed. And typically only those unfamiliar with the Bible or the arguments made against it, tend to fall for all the shenanigans. Dr. Paul addresses how the Bible came to be and why it is completely reliable and trustworthy for all matters pertaining to faith and practice. And that anyone who picks it up to read it may rest assured that he/she has within his/her hand the inspired word of God, which is fully capable of making the man or woman of God "…adequate, equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:17).
As if the stupidness of what is transpiring in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Miami, Atlanta and elsewhere is not bad enough. Losers from all across the city of Chicago converged on the downtown area and started looting and destroyed stores. And why was that? Because of a false report over another black being shot by an officer. Where these thugs get off stealing from others makes no sense to Dr. Paul, which he makes plainly evident.
And just when you thought Bill Gates and Anthony Fauci would go away with their universal vaccine plans for the China virus charade, along with a doctor, who is getting paid handsomely by Big Pharma, who wants to make vaccinations for the virus compulsory. In fact, with the exception of having each and every person alive branded or "marked" with a special name on individual foreheads or right hands, the doctor is adamant without the vaccine, the individual rebel will have a difficult time getting by in society. That said, Dr. Paul makes it clear he would rather go to jail than receive a vaccine that is tainted with animal parts and would lead to even worse maladies later on in life.
The China virus keeps piling up casualties. Today it is college football. Tomorrow. Who knows? Maybe the China virus will start demanding that it wear a cheesy mask. Whatever the case, Dr. Paul points out another inanity in a growing list of inanities connected to the farce.
Also, six years ago, yesterday, August 9, the infamous Michael Brown knocked off a convenience store by stealing some items and then roughed up the store owner a bit, before leaving with a buddy of his. When he was confronted by Officer Darren Wilson, Brown tried the same tactic and lost his life before attempting to murder Wilson. While many continue to whitewash the whole event that turned Ferguson, Missouri into a smoldering heap of debris and ash, Dr. Paul gets out the actual footage of Brown's criminal escapade and does a play-by-play recall. Then, he breaks out the statement Wilson made to a detective, along with Brown's autopsy report, to reveal the real Michael Brown. Low and behold, Dr. Paul points out that Brown was everything but a model citizen or paragon of moral virtue.
Ever since 1973 abortion, the legal sanctioning of murder toward an unborn—and most recently, even the born—child has been the law of the land. The Helms Act kept abortion, though, at an arm's distance by preventing the taxpayer from having to public fund the carnage. Today, however, Leftist Democrats want the Helms Act overturned and not only have taxpayers fund abortions nationally, but to extend financial support to the global slaughter of the unborn, as well. Dr. Paul is not even remotely close to agreeing with such callousness and explains why.
And just when you thought you heard it all coming from the petty tyrants and dictators all across the land, otherwise known as governors and mayors, as they hand down dictates, mandates, and ordinances to keep the dreaded China virus was spreading, California Governor Gavin Newsome has decided to overstep the bounds of the Federal Constitution to shut down all churches. One major church in his cross hairs is the Grace Community Church, pastored by best-selling author John MacArthur. Pastor MacArthur has essentially told Governor Newsome to take his mandate and take a flying leap. Tis better to obey God than man, in other words. Dr. Paul applauds Pastor MacArthur's stance and then warns Newsome to keep his hands off the church or else.
Almost all of us get them every day; scammers who call us on the phone attempting to rip us off with some kind of phone scam. In the first part of this broadcast, Dr. Paul goes over how he has handled phone scammers and has a little bit of fun doing it!
In the second part of the broadcast, Dr. Paul addresses the recent leaked George Floyd body cam video. The video, taken from one of the Minneapolis police officers participating in the arrest of George Floyd, tells a whole different tale than the one the Leftist media, Black Lives Matters, and Antifa groups are telling. Should it matter or should we all simply roll over and let a bogus prosecution proceed, while Americans are duped into thinking that George Floyd was some kind of patron saint?
Recently, the Marxist-inspired group, Black Lives Matters, started making demands consistent with it overall philosophy, which including defunding or abolishing the police, placing moratoriums on landlord rents and mortgages, and abolishment and replacement of the U.S. Constitution. Should Americans concede to the demands or stand up and challenge them based on an objective revelation of just where the BLM leaders are coming from and then broadcast it to anyone willing to listen?
A growing number of Teacher's Unions all across America are making what amounts to Marxist-Socialist demands upon school districts with the threat that unless the demands are met, then the teachers will not be headed back to the classroom in the fall. Of course, the China virus ruse is being used as justification. Should the schools districts kowtow to the demands or should the teachers be fired for breach of contract?
Also, many Christians subscribe to the teaching that upon commencement of the "Great Tribulation," they will be "raptured" out of the world. However, is that doctrine really taught in the Bible or have those same Christians bought into a system of thought that has no biblical warrant?
Attacks against God's Word are as old as the first one engaged in by the devil back in the Garden of Eden. Throughout history, although some of the attacks have been more sophisticated, the tactics are still the same, with the endgame to cause the listener to doubt that God has said anything. Dr. Paul takes on a few of the old canards in this episode, as he addresses whether or not any books are missing from the Bible.
TCU Head Football Coach was recently called-out for allegedly using the "n-word" in the presence of one of his red shirt players. Is the coach being unjustly condemned? Dr. Paul thinks so.
