Meet Linda Wheatley! Over the past seven months, Linda has taken on the role as my editor for my first book, A Single Droplet (coming out on Audible and print within just a couple of months!). Not only have I experienced Linda's exceptional editing skills, and ability to amplify my voice in the book and sharpen the messaging, but I've gotten to know Linda personally. As soon as I began to learn more about Linda and what seems to be her many lives in one, I knew she would be someone who I would admire in life. In this episode, you too will witness the treasure that Linda is, and likely become inspired by her stories and insights. You know those anxious moments when your mind takes you on a rollercoaster ride of scary "what ifs"? For much of my life, I've chased the next thing, always wondering what that grass on the other side smelled like, felt like, looked like! I've struggled with this inability to accept the present and my current reality. It has caused me a great deal of suffering and confusion over the years. But through daily practices, and a whirlwind of a year so far, I've felt something unfamiliar. Could that really be you, contentment?

Back in November of 2021, I published two podcast guest episodes with the magical Diana Leone. In these conversations, Diana shared her wisdom and knowledge about the female body; we specifically covered birth control, pregnancy, labor, and releasing pregnancy. As a full-spectrum doula and educator for the female body, Diana's work has touched many lives and will continue to ripple out. Sadly, Diana unexpectedly passed away, which is why I've combined both recordings so we can listen to over two hours of her dreamy voice and soak up the passion and love she had for women and their bodies. Please share her work with anyone who you feel would be interested, and if you feel inclined to donate to Diana's family, please use the following link: https://gofund.me/470bbbe9

In this episode, we discuss how bad it can feel when we are constantly nagging at ourselves. Through our own judgement, criticism, shame, and rejection, we can forget how hard we are on ourselves every single day! This harsh self-reflection feels awful and is something I've been exploring within myself. Here, I open up about my personal experience with self-judgement and offer some insight on how I'm handling it.

I've always believed that the opposite emotion is always there. For example, there is joy behind pain and peace behind anxiety. At times, one feeling may be more alive than the other, but the opposite is always attached to the end of the other. I feel this to be true, but never understood how to get to the other side, that is, until I experienced deep emotional pain and joy in a single moment recently. In this episode, I talk about how I got to the other side and how to squeeze every drop out of life's offerings.

If you're anything like me, you spend most of your days up inside of your mind, which can be a loud, judgmental, and even confusing place to live in! Although this is completely normal, to spend the majority of our time thinking, it can be problematic, as our wisdom and intuition rarely stems from this space. In this episode, I offer a way to balance the mind's activity and give you ways you can begin today. I also mention my free meditations, which you can find by visiting my website: https://www.toreyhill.studio/

In January of 2022, I finally committed to a regular meditation practice and since then my entire life and self has strengthened. I have never felt so clear, connected and mentally healthy. Ever. But it took me many years to warm up to even trying it. I always thought that I was someone who just couldn't meditate; like some people were born with the ability to meditate and others not. Because of the impact it's had on my life, I've spent a lot of time thinking about how I can talk about it with others in a realistic and approachable way. I believe that all living things can benefit from meditation, and would even go so far to argue that meditation is an instinctual practice that the human race has lost, but it can be difficult to know where or how to start. Here, we discuss the many types of meditation and how you can begin doing it.

And before we can even begin we've got to address any resistance or hesitation because these are the very things that keep us from even trying! This is why we're starting here, in this mini meditation series on the pod, addressing the reasons why we aren't meditating. From here, we get to there.

You know those days where you have something planned and other things just get in the way? Where you're left with the decision to either rush or force the original plan or postpone it, leaving you frustrated, resentful or irritable? It's hard when we expect to do something, where we set the intention, and life just doesn't happen the way you thought it would. In this episode, I share a personal example of this happening to me and offer another way to look at days like this.

You know those things that you avoid like the plague? For some it's public speaking, driving in a city, answering a phone call, reading directions, or asking for a refund. It's the thing that makes your heart flutter and palms sweat, keeping you from sleeping the night before. This episode explores a personal example of mine revolving around the idea of doing the things that scare you. And if you're reading this, you're ready to listen. We're in the middle of the holiday season and while this is a special time of the year, one to be savored and grateful for, it can also leave us feeling scattered and off. In this episode, I share my personal pep talk that helps me feel a little more grounded and calm.

When I was a young girl, my imagination would turn dark as the sun went down. I'd lay in my bed, paralyzed with fear thinking of scary creatures lurking around my room. Eventually, I'd muster the courage to scream for my dad. He'd come in and turn the light in. Instant relief would flood through my little body as I returned to reality, out of the thoughts that so easily swallowed me whole. And over the years, they continued to do so. Over and over again, always returning. And they still do, but I have a secret weapon; one that allows me to befriend my thoughts and mind. One that invites harmony. It is the simple idea that I am not my thoughts. And that is what this episode is all about.

Have you ever craved a relationship with something bigger than you? Perhaps you wish you could trust life more instead of gripping it so tightly? Or, maybe you desire to feel more connected with the world around you?

I found myself with these thoughts in 2018 after I hit my rock bottom. I was at a point in my life where I had found a way to approach my anxiety, but still felt like something was missing. I was so scared of the future and unsure about my past decisions. I felt like I was being blown in the wind, fearful of knocking into anything unwanted. Then, I realized what I needed: spirituality. When this realization hit me, I immediately searched for something that could help me strengthen the spirituality that had become lost in me. This is when I found the Here to Thrive Podcast by Kate Snowise. Everything changed after that... and when you hit play and listen to Kate, you'll understand why.

Kate is an Executive Coach, Podcaster and Speaker. She is the host of the Here To Thrive Podcast. In early 2021 I decided to dive into the belly of all beasts and hire someone to guide me through my shadows. Since then, I've worked with two incredible women (listen to episodes 8 + 14) who held the space and support for me to explore the dark pieces lurking deep within me. Since this work, my life has quite literally never been the same. I am able to sit in the darkest corners of myself and feel safe, loving and curious. Shadow work is extremely powerful and when you hit play, you'll understand why.

Note: Shadow work is beautiful and intense. Please find support if it becomes too overwhelming to explore on your own.

In this episode, I spill how I've been able to transition from a life of daily anxiety (panic attacks at work, strain on my relationships, feeling unsafe in my own body) to living the life of my dreams.

Over the past year I've created a business from scratch (launched my website, fostered a 100-person email community, worked with almost 40 individuals, made actual profit this calendar year), was asked to be a guest teacher in 3 different programs, created my own podcast that is listened to by over 20 countries, interviewed 3 out of the 4 women who were on my “dream podcast guest list”, hosted my first retreat, invested $3,777 in MYSELF, got promoted as a senior-level at my corporate job, married Jake, traveled to two of my bucket list destinations (Alaska and Kauai).

If you told me that I'd be doing all of these things a few years ago I'd laugh in your face. I could have never expected this! Have you ever measured your worthiness by an action, thought or status in something? Maybe you've felt more worthy when you finally hit that pay range, receive that compliment or get that exclusive invitation? Many of us have been taught that we need to earn worthiness and in this episode, I call BS. If constantly working towards being more worthy plays a role in your life, take a deep breath and hit play. As always reach out to me and let me know what resonated. I love hearing from you.

In this episode, I get to interview Hayley Fien about her journey hiking The Long Trail alone. For those who are unfamiliar with The Long Trail, it is a hike, just shy of 300 miles, that runs through the entire state of Vermont. I was not only curious about Hayley's experience doing this hike solo, but I also wanted to know what she gained from the trip. From gratitude, to trail names (if you know you know, if you don't you'll find out), to trusting the timing of life... we cover so much! I can't wait for you to hear all of the wisdom and insights that Hayley brings to this podcast. Make sure to message us on Instagram letting us know what resonated:

I believe that commitment outweighs capability and if you want something, you can have it. In this episode, I break down the term "commitment" and give you realistic ways on how you can begin taking action towards that thing that you desire. Maybe it's a feeling, tangible item or experience - whatever it is, you are capable, as long as you're committed. I also touch on jealousy and the idea that some people have that thing that makes them more suitable or deserving of the thing you desire - I lovingly call BS on this idea and when you hit play you'll find out why.

P.S. The retreat coming up in less than 1 week (EEEK!). If a day retreat at a private yurt with a small group of women in Vermont sounds appealing to you, email me or DM me to see if there are any openings left or to get on the Spring 2022 Retreat Waitlist. As always, I love hearing from you. Reach out regardless and let me know what you thought about this episode.

I recorded this episode on a day where I was feeling heavy, and instead of hiding under a rock, I decided to show up and share this side of me with you! Here, I give a warm reminder that growth is not linear. Growth doesn't always feel incredible and, at the same time, it's part of the entire process of what it is to be human. Take a deep breath. Press play. And be oh so gentle with yourself today, and every day for that matter. If this resonated, please reach out to me and let me know.
