Sometimes., I feel weak.
Scared.
Alone.
When this gets out of hand, I recommend gettting professional help, but, just to ease the way I deal with these feelings, I have come up with a practical list of things to do.
Sharing them all here, hopefully, to ease your day, in these times.
Do try them out, and let me know how it goes.
Your product or service does NOT have a definite USP.
It has a list of features, but the USP doesn't depend on you, your company or organisation.
So, who does it depend on?
Watch this video to find out more.
Scared of Sales Talks?
Don't worry.
Most of us are.
Listen this video to learn some definite pointers that will change the way you talk, and send you laughing all the way to the bank!
Before you post on Social Media, WAIT!
There are different things you need to do if you want to achieve specific results on social media.
Perhaps the most important is choice of platform; which platform to post on, for what result.
This should help!
I may get a bit of flak for this, but I believe that social media is the most important invention of my lifetime.
The internet is certainly a Great Enabler.
But Social Media is the Great Equaliser.
A child in a remote village in Nepal has access (at least in theory) to some of the most brilliant minds of the world.
There is unbelievable amounts of Democratisation that social media has brought to us.
Also, earlier, if you wanted to share your story with the world, you needed to rely on traditional media.
Which is not only expensive but also has a host of gatekeepers.
You need either money, or an invitation to be a part of the benefits it afforded.
Today, all you need is some skill, a camera and a microphone, and you are ready to go.
So, here is my question:
What are you using social media for, to consume?
Or, to connect and share?
Most people are scared of Sales.
They would rather not get involved with having to face potential customers and have to have the talk.
Yet, it's one of the most important fundamentals of business.
Here is how you can make the basic sales talk easier for you.
Imagine Nepal was definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
As I look back, I can’t help but smile.
Here is a quick look back at the entire journey, as I finally complete the recap.
New stuff coming up from tomorrow!
Do you celebrate often enough?
What do you celebrate?
Why is it important to celebrate?
In this video, you will see the importance of celebrations and why they are an absolute necessity in the corporate world.
“I can’t do this.”
I can’t even explain how many times my brain said this to me.
I can’t even explain how many times I wanted to run away.
Yet, I didn’t.
How?
Listen this video to find out.
I cried making this.
More than once.
Because, while I have the most supportive and loving social media family, at times, I get comments that shake me up.
And, I feel, that if a 37-year-old, seemingly happy and secure person can get rattled with these comments, what about teenagers?
So, here I bared my soul, and spoke about my experiences on dealing with bullying on social media, as I experienced it on Imagine Nepal.
Have you ever been bullied? What did you do about it?
As a child from a cricket crazy family, competition was a part of our daily lives.
We hated ‘them’, whoever they were.
We wanted to win.
But, over the years, I have realized that there is a more meaningful way to look at our competition. And that thought gives me so much of respect for everyone around.
I learnt this through the discomfort at Imagine Nepal, and I am sharing with you all here.
Television! Glamour! Fame!
Sounds wonderful, right?
It is.
But, in perspective.
It is extremely important to understand both sides of the coin, before you jump into this field.
Because, any kind of shooting IS NOT EASY.
I repeat, any kind of shooting professionally, IS NOT EASY.
It is meant to look deceptively easier than it is, which is what makes it to much more time consuming and magical.
I loved being on television for Imagine Nepal, but watch this video, in which I share a lot of BTS shots, to help you make better choices whether this field is for you or not.
I wanted to cry on stage.
It seems trivial, but for me, it was not.
This was the heights of discomfort for me and reiterated something I have always believed in.
Listen to learn a very important thing about being confident on stage.
Is travel ALWAYS fun?
Not necessarily, as these BTS clips will prove.
As a team leader (or mentor, if you prefer that word), I had to travel through tough terrains, over a long period of time, for Imagine Nepal.
I don’t want to say much, but this was the personification of the word DISCOMFORT.
So take a look and see how things can be, for yourself!
CHEERLEADERS ARE NEGLECTED!
Yes!
Cheerleaders can be the most important external asset an organization has, from early adopters, to the delighted ones that work as your brand ambassadors.
But, I realized that the job of cheerleaders isn’t just to help spread the word about your organization externally.
Their bigger role is, when they actively emotionally support teams, through their words, their actions and their existence.
These were the cheerleaders for me, at Imagine Nepal.
This video isn’t just to thank them, but also to let the world know how important it is to have these people whose words can brighten up a bad day.
To all my cheerleaders, I LOVE you.
And, I need you to know it.
Is shameless asking for help, a bad thing?
No!
Like any living organism, a team too, needs external energies to survive.
In the case of Imagine Nepal, we were a team of 8, but needed a host of mental and physical supporters.
Any leader would need to turn to outsiders, non-core team members, at times, in order to delegate, brainstorm or even get help.
I realized that there is no shame or embarrassment in calling up family, close friends, or even sort-of-friends and asking if they can help.
And, the support I received was unbelievable.
How I balanced these various people in my life, for all those months and how their invaluable contributions meant so much to me, are all enlisted here.
Do you focus on your strengths or your weaknesses? Is a long project, a marathon, or a sprint? How important is it so delegate tasks to team members? I learnt the answers to these questions in my life, the hard way, through my experiments with leadership and communication on Imagine Nepal. Working with a team of remarkably different individuals is not easy, yet, getting a long, demanding project right can be extremely fulfilling. I experimented a lot, regarding how I would get these different people to cooperate, and how much of the decision making onus should be on me. I changed my strategy a couple of times, until I found something that worked. I have made a list of all that it took, from start to end. I crystallized my thoughts here on video, so you can learn much faster and more efficiently than I did. Do watch and let me know what you think.
Ethics, Professionalism or Skills?
What is most important?
I was working with a lot of unknown people for Imagine Nepal.
As expected, it was not easy.
It was uncomfortable.
And, this experience taught me what I cherish the most in others.
What do you cherish?
"I hate the people I am working with!"
Have you ever felt this way?
If so, please understand that working with the right people and managing teams is one of the most important things that leaders need to do, on a daily basis.
I wanted to experiment with leadership, so, as I embarked on the journey of Imagine Nepal, I learnt and documented many things about Leadership.
I have shared them all in this video here.
Do let me know know what you think.
Announcing Project #ChooseDiscomfort
This is a leadership project, based on all that I experienced in Imagine Nepal, as I stepped out of my comfort zone.
Watch this video to learn about my secret of growth.
Sometimes., I feel weak.
Scared. Alone.
When this gets out of hand, I recommend getting professional help, but, just to ease the way I deal with these feelings, I have come up with a practical list of things to do.
Sharing them all here, hopefully, to ease your day, in these times.
Do try them out, and let me know how it goes.
A few months ago, in a Panel Discussion, I had the opportunity to ask a couple of very accomplished authors about what they thought was the MOST important skill for professionals in the world today.
The unanimous answer?
“Delayed gratification.”
I was shocked.
I knew painfully little about this topic, and was eager to find out more.
Here is my understanding of something that I agree, is one of the most vital abilities to develop and grow.
Do watch, and let me know, if you too, delay your gratification often!
Self-Discovery isn’t easy, but it’s vital.
In fact, if you aren’t adequately aware of yourself, any kind of success becomes meaningless.
So, people think of all sorts of different things to discover themselves; travel, meditate, paint, write.
All of these are wonderful methods, but my favorite is talking to myself, and asking myself difficult questions.
Yet, I realized that when I ask myself abstract questions, I come up with abstract answers.
So, I came up with a list of very specific, unusual questions that can give one in roads into their own mind, unlike any other!
I WANT TO BE CONFIDENT!
I WANT TO BE CONFIDENT!!
I WANT TO BE CONFIDENT!!!
I hear this a million times a month.
So, I HAD to make an episode on my take on this topic.
Do listen, to understand the secret behind this simple, yet, not completely understood word.
What 3 things are common to Malvika Subba, Anil Shah, Mahabir Pun, Raj Khetan, Rajesh Hamal, Bandhana Rana, Anuradha Koirala, Ani Choying Drolma, Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, Himalaya SJB Rana, Dr. Asha Singh?
I have interviewed them all for, ‘If I Had Not Failed.’
Their words were all super inspiring.
Who they are, behind the camera, is even more inspiring, than who they are in front of it.
I learned immensely from my interactions with them. And today, I am presenting a short episode of the things I picked up along the way.
I often find myself stuck.
I don't feel productive.
I don't perform as effectively.
My mind is overworked.
I was recently having such a phase.
After weeks of trial and error, I chanced upon a strategy that worked.
Every single time.
And I'm sharing it with you here.
Here is the 10-50-5 Rule of Success!
THE WORD 'PASSION' IS MISUNDERSTOOD.

The word has a much deeper meaning that we don't know anything about.

It has a wonderful secret that can help us understand how to make better choices in our careers, whether we are students or working already.
Do listen to this piece, where I share a very insightful concept I came across recently.
My grandfather had a huge impact on my life.
He was my mentor, cheerleader and most doting family member.
We lost him in 2013. As the years pass, I realised that through his life and words, he passed on some thing more to us that we never realised then: WORK AND CAREER LESSONS.
People may say that they are archaic now, but here is what I feel: I have consciously or subconsciously been following his lessons for the last 15 years in my career, and they have had an unimaginable positive impact on me.
Life is Short. I have always known this, and I have always worked hard towards my goals, sacrificing sleep and my sanity. However, I recently realised that I was getting it all wrong. I was managing my TIME, and not my FOCUS. Such a simple, yet powerful insight. The problem with measuring each better use day is that it is not sustainable, and it burns you out. is video. Then, I came up with another strategy to make better use of my time, which I have highlighted in detail in this video. This will help all sorts of professionals to get their work done in a more meaningful way, and still have time left for play. Do let me know if you think this strategy can change your life, just as it did mine.

The term "Milk Curdle" defines my life. It is to stir the milk until and unless you get a desired result. Despite of any circumstances, I never stopped.
Life taught me to be determined and unstoppable in spite of all the impediments that came on the way.
Here I share "My Life, My Choices and My Timeline".

What is a New Year?

And, I'm sure you'll enter the year with more positivity and mindfulness than imagined.
Most of us have things that we want to change about our lives.
They could be small or big, but change is not easy.
However, there is one secret thing that makes all change easy.
In this podcast, I talk about that secret, through a story I heard about a king.
Tough times come and go.
They break some people, and they make some people.
The people they 'make' are the ones who know how to stick to their goals and never give up.
In this podcast, I provide 5 simple steps that will result in a shift in your thought process that will make it easier to stick to your goals, no matter how tough things seem.
For years, I lived with self doubt. I was unsure of everything.
My ability to excel.
My aptitude.
Myself.
And then, I remembered this story that I had heard in school. While I'm not sure if I remember the whole story correctly, I do know that I have a more profound understanding of it now, that I did, at school.
In this podcast, I will share this story which will certainly make you feel better about yourself and more confident, no matter who you are and what you do.
Please watch it till the end, as I share my 6 takeaways from this wonderful story.
Music: Bensound
Today, when I look back, I realise that maybe this accident was the eye-opener that I needed? few important lessons, with regard to Leadership and Life.
When my mother saw the pictures of the damaged car, she was shocked and she thanked God that we were all safe.
I was scared and pained for a while, but later, I realied that this accident had taught me a few important lessons, with regard to Leadership and Life.
Today, when I look back, I realise that maybe this accident was the eye opener that I needed?
A year on, have we learnt anything?
Exactly a year has passed since the dreaded virus intruded into our lives.
So much has happened, so much has changed.
Yet, so much remains the same.
Winston Churchill once said, ‘You must never let a good crisis go to waste.’
My question is, “have we learnt?”
If not, is this virus enough to make us learn?
I'm taking this occasion to share my first post from my YouTube channel, that I wrote a year ago, entitled, 'Is this Virus Enough?', where I seek to question where we, as a species are leading, and if this virus could be our potential catalyst to change.
Is this virus enough?
Love.
The simplest, most basic human emotion.
Yet, isn't it strange how so many of us sometimes get it all wrong?
In this video, I share my opinion on a particular type of Love; my most favourite type. I made the video because most people I know, need to be reminded of this. Do watch, and do share if you can think of people who need to be reminded as well.
We are generally taught that goals should be S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable. Achievable, Realistic and Time Bound).
While I can't stress enough on the fact that we MUST set goals if we want to experience success, I do NOT agree with 2 of the words above.
What are they?
And why are they important?
And how can they change the way we perceive the whole process of working towards our goals?
What does ‘Being a Woman’ mean to you?
Is it about a fight you’ve had to have, each day, for your identity?
A fight to be what you want?
A fight to love who you want?
A fight to fulfill your big and small dreams?
If so,
This is your story.
This is my story.
While this video seems to be about these 12 women, in reality, it is about each one of us, in some way or the other.
In my quest to work towards a more gender just world, I wrote this poem, to start dialogues about certain issues, irrespective of how uncomfortable they may be. If you relate to any of the words in the poem, just comment ‘#justletmebe’ and I will know that we are in this together. Express your solidarity, so we know we aren’t alone.
In my quest to work towards a more gender-just world, I wrote this poem, to start dialogues about certain issues, irrespective of how uncomfortable they may be. If you relate to any of the words in the poem, just comment ‘
Also, this poem is my note of gratitude to all those women before me, who did things differently, challenged norms, and fought relentlessly to make this world a better place. Please tag one woman who has inspired you, to let her know that you appreciate her!
Most people want to be successful. However, few have an actual, vivid idea of what success means to them.
Saying you want to be 'Successful' is like going to a restaurant and ordering 'Whatever.' You won't get what you really want and you may even dislike what has been presented in front of you. In this case, it becomes extremely important to understand exactly how we can set ourselves up for success, from the word go, and build on a foundation that puts us on the right path.
Words can Hurt.
Words can Sting.
Words can Crush our Souls.
Words can Wound.
Sometimes, we carry old, old pain in our hearts. Words said years ago continue to haunt and pinch. Yet, we must be able to overcome the sting from those words and move on.
However, this is easier said than done. I was one of those who used to get extremely bothered about others' words. However, a few years ago I heard a story that made it so much easier for me to deal with unkind words.
In this video, I share not just that story, but also my 3 takeaways from it, and the strategy I use, to deal with hurtful words.
Listening is one of the most fundamental parts of Communication. Yet, as a Communication Skills trainer, I am shocked by how little people think of this skill. I have never come across someone who genuinely wants to work on their listening skills!
However, in this video, I share some basic tips that can make you a better listener, and help you greatly with your overall communication.
So, here it is, Communication Series, a series of videos that are meant to give tips on enhancing communication skills.
In this first edition, I talk about 'Appreciate to Motivate'. While most people I know are aware of the importance of appreciation, very few actually know how to implement them.
The tips shared here are as relevant in a board room, as they are in your dining room!
"You aren't good enough."
"Your work sucks!"
"You will never be able to make it!"
Brutal feedback hurts. And it hurts bad. Yet, so many managers and leaders continue to give this, because they may not be aware of exactly how real encouraging feedback needs to be given.
In this video from the Communication Series, I talk about the importance of feedback and how we can inculcate a habit of giving feedback that elevates our organisations.
I have failed.
Not once, not twice; multiple times.
But, 'Failure' means different things to different people.
For some, it is the end. For others, it is but a new beginning. The perception makes all the difference.
The video I am uploading today is important because it talks about the importance of 'Failure' and how we can convert each such incident into something rather magnificent.
While the entire world is talking about mental health, this video seeks to explore the origins of certain self degenerating thoughts.
Also, as a bonus, at the very end, I have added 'My Grand Failure Story' as I would like to call it.
Do watch, and share, since we can change lives if we truly imbibe all that this video means.
Of all the videos I have ever made, this one is the closest to my heart. I shared a lot, bared my heart.
And most importantly, I love the little twist in the story!
I have felt pain. You have felt pain.
Each one of us has.
In this video I will talk about the purest form of love and the most crippling pain that accompanies it.
Do watch it. It is the video closest to my heart, and this was the third time I shot it. (In the first 2 I was choked with tears).
In this video, I share my story.
As a woman, I have faced several hurdles in my life.
I struggled with Self Esteem and Confidence, and here I give a tip to overcome the same.
It is the concept of Ikigai.
It caused miracles in my life and I urge you all to try and understand it, in order to change your life.
