Maud Cotter spoke with with Domo Baal, Director of DOMOBAAL Gallery, London on the opening day of the exhbition.
a consequence of – a breather of air was a solo exhibition by Maud Cotter which was shown in the three galleries at The Dock. It was the second iteration of a body of work developed through three leading venues over three years; The Limerick City Gallery of Art, in 2018, The Dock, 2019, and Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane in 2020.
Maud Cotter lives and works in Cork. She is co-founder of the National Sculpture Factory and a member of Aosdana, and has exhibited Nationally and Internationally. She is represented by DOMOBAAL Gallery, London.

The Dock's Director Sarah Searson in discussion with Mary Ronayne and Anishta Chooramun on the occassion of the opening of their exhibition in The Dock. The exhibition ran from the 25th May to the 18th August, 2019.
The Past Is A Foreign Country an exhibition by Anita Groener showed in The Dock from the 19th January to the 9th March, 2019.
On opening the exhibition we invited Anita to speak about her work.
The Past Is A Foreign Country asks what is it to be human today. Through drawings, large scale installations, film, and animation Anita Groener explores the tissue of trauma and loss rooted in this question. She makes work for what still needs language, experimenting with both figurative and abstract geography. The deliberately modest means of the work (twigs, paper, pins, twine and gouache) speak to the fragility of life and society that refugee crises expose. Her art asks questions about the ethics of witnessing atrocity and aesthetic response.
The exhibition received an Arts Council Touring and Dissemination Award, and was initiated by the Limerick City Gallery of Art, and will tour to, The Lab, Dublin and Uilinn, Skibbereen after the Dock in 2019.
