This is Rev Valerie Austin's last day as Associate Pastor of Mountain Rise United Church of Christ and the community is forever grateful for her ministry, kindness, sense of humor and spirit.

The reading from Jonah 3: 1-5, 10 [inclusive bible]. In his day, Jonah, like us, had a call to preach the word of truth. like so many of us, tried to run away - but God's grace prevailed in his life and in the lives of the people of Nineveh.
Matthew 25: 1-13Jesus' parable about 10 wedding guests burning midnight oil, meant something different to the first hearers. Now, we understand it as an invitation to always be ready to welcome divine love into the midst of our lives and relationships.
