Faith Hope Love is based off 1 Corinthians 13:13--"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
The purpose of Faith Hope Love is for us to grow together in our faith, be inspired to greater hope, and learn how to better love God and others.

"You're not good enough." "You need to try harder." "Everything's fine!"
These are the sorts of voices that we all have in our heads, and they often push us to act in ways that are both unhelpful and unsustainable. How do we quiet these narratives? More importantly, amid the chatter, how do we hear the voice of God?
Gem Fadling helps us identify the competing voices and shows how they hinder our personal transformation. Drawing on years of spiritual direction and leadership at Unhurried Living, she shares her wisdom of how we make sense of inner voices and settle down enough to find our true voice.

It's no secret that we live in an increasingly isolated world. The pandemic has only exacerbated what was already a startling trend: loneliness and disconnection have been on the rise for a long time in our society. We long for a deep sense of meaning to make sense of our lives, but we don't know how to find it. Even worse, we often search for it in unhealthy ways that hinder the very thing we're desperate for: genuine relational connection.

A little about Amy: I'm a recovered worn-out-frazzled-striving mom of three who is living her best life now coaching other moms to live vibrant, wholehearted lives as well! It didn’t take me long to discover that the insights of the Enneagram, combined with the transformational truth of the Gospel, give a clear and unique path to living a wholehearted life. Now, I want to spend my days coaching other moms through the process of not only learning the depth and complexities of their Enneagram Type, but also teaching them how to effectively use the Enneagram as a transformational tool for their spiritual life first, then their life as a mom and finally in all of their other relationships and life endeavors!

Would you like to live into your yes? Christine Wagoner invites us to be attentive to the movements of the Spirit and offers practical tools for living a life of openness to the invitations of God in our lives.
"There can be healthy and unhealthy reasons to say 'yes' or 'no' to opportunities: fear of failure, feeling inadequate. I need to pay attention to those emotions and do some honest reflection. A 'yes' said in freedom is so much better than a 'yes' said in fear." Christine Wagoner, Author of Finding Your Yes @cewagoner
Bio: Christine E. Wagoner is an associate regional director with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, where she directed their national women's leadership development program. She received her master of arts in counseling ministries from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Christine is married to Kurt and lives in Indianapolis, Indiana.

How does faith in Jesus provide love to a desperate world?
"Hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us... but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:5, 8 ESV
"Love is not based on our abilities, attitudes, or actions. We can receive the unmerited, loyal love of our Father God, in spite of our sin, through the loving sacrifice of Jesus. We receive the Holy Spirit and enjoy the fruit of His love, which overflows into our lives as expressed as love toward God and others."

How does faith in Jesus provide joy to a heartbroken world?
"Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope." Romans 5:3-4 ESV
"Joy is not based on the happiness/comfort of our present circumstances. We can have joy in the midst of pain, suffering, and heartbreak because of a future hope of God’s glory and His promised restoration of all that is broken."

What are some practical ways to support kids in the foster care system?
Emily Smithhart shares her experience as a foster mom in California and her family's desire to support birth moms and promote reunification in situations when it is possible.*
"I started fostering because I loved kids and had a heart for vulnerable children. But the reason why we're going to continue fostering longterm is because God surprised me with a love for biological parents. If that first mom can get to a place where she is healthy and safe, that is plan A. Restoration is what God is all about. If we can restore that original relationship, that is what will be the best thing for these kids." Emily Smithhart @emily_smithhart
Bio: Emily is a biological and foster mother who lives in northern California with her husband, Bennett. Emily is also pursuing her masters in Child/Youth/Family Ministry. She is passionate about serving the local church as well as the foster care community.

Who am I? Does God see me? Does God love me? What is my purpose?
So much is tied up in our longing to know who we are: our worth, whether we’re loved, what we’re meant to do with our lives. But there’s a powerful truth: God has named us, and the names he has spoken over us settle every question and pain we have ever experienced in our search for identity.
"God has said that we are clothed in righteousness because of Christ. We are a new creation, becoming more Christlike every single day. We have to embrace who God says we are. For those who are in Christ--forgiven, made new, empowered by the Holy Spirit--it is time for us to begin speaking good words over ourselves that God has already spoken over us." She is an award-nominated author, a contributor to Propel Women, the co-host of The Common Good Talk Show and the Nothing is Wasted Podcast. How do we use our gifts in ministry?
Josh and Heather Lieurance share that our spiritual gifts grow best while we are actively pursuing Jesus and loving others. We are all called to ministry and using our gifts isn't as complicated as it sounds.
"It doesn't have to be this complicated, 'try to find out your gift' sort of thing. If we are just willing to be ourselves and be available to love people and serve in the ways God presents us with, that's really what using our gifts is." -Heather Lieurance @quietonpurpose @fbc_cambria
Bio: Josh & Heather Lieurance have been serving at First Baptist Church of Cambria for the past 5 years. Josh is the Lead Pastor and Heather works in an Administrative role. They both love to walk alongside people as they take the next steps of faith in their relationship with Jesus. Josh was previously a minister of youth and worship for 15 years. While serving in that capacity, he began to notice the many small churches without a pastor to lead them. Sensing God nudging him to step into this void, he returned to school and earned his MDiv at Talbot School of Theology. Heather spent many years homeschooling their children and working alongside Josh in youth ministry before her personal faith journey revealed a desperate need to learn to care for her own soul. Growing in this area then unleashed a passion in her to encourage others in caring for their souls , as well. One way she strives to do this is through her podcast “Quiet on Purpose.” On weekends, and as often as they can, they love to get outdoors, finding ways to make use of their bicycles, SUPs, and teardrop trailer throughout the year. They are grateful to call California’s Central Coast “home.”

How do we use our God-given gifts to best love the people around us?
Let's study 1 Corinthians 12-13 to learn a few of the spiritual gifts, including the most excellent gift: love.
"Let us run with perseverance with our eyes on Jesus. It's this idea that we don't run our race alone. We are called as the body of Christ, as the Church, as Christians to run our race together." Melissa Moore

Parenting is challenging, especially as a single parent.
In today's episode, James Dowdy shares about how God walked with him through those early years after the divorce and how the Holy Spirit works within us to transform us into the people we were created to be.
"The Holy Spirit will get you through anything. The real power is in the Holy Spirit. That's who Christ sent. He said, 'I'm going to send Him to you. He's going to be with you. You can pray to the Father through me but this is the guy that's going to be here.' We have to make use of that. We can't let Satan beat us up when we make mistakes or when we realize we're not perfect. God told us we're not perfect. We're not going to be perfect." James Dowdy

Melissa shares about how to move forward with endurance and gives practical tips on how to daily put our eyes on Jesus.
"Now as we are taking that baton, the people behind us are pointing us forward to the pioneer and perfecter of faith--Jesus. He already helped us take down our burdens and untangled us from the sin that had so permeated our lives and now He is beckoning us forward to run with endurance, run with perseverance toward Him." -Melissa Moore
How do we practically put our eyes on Jesus? 1-Read and Study the Bible 2-Memorize Scripture 3-Pray 4-Worship 5-Plug into a Church Community
Verse: Hebrews 12:1-3– “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Talking Back to Purity Culture: Rediscovering Faithful Christian Sexuality
What is Biblical purity and how has purity culture misinterpreted the heart of God? Rachel Joy Welcher reviews the purity culture movement, examining its teachings through the lens of Scripture.
"Purity culture depicted the pursuit of purity as something that would gain you personal rewards once you succeeded and got to the marriage altar. What Scripture teaches is that we pursue purity for the glory of God and love for our brothers and sisters. The goal of purity needs to become much more selfless than it was taught in purity culture." Rachel Joy Welcher, Author of Talking Back to Purity Culture @ivpress @racheljwelcher
Bio: Rachel Joy Welcher (MLit, University of St. Andrews) is a columnist and editor at Fathom magazine. She is the author of two books of poetry: Blue Tarp and Two Funerals, Then Easter. Redefining Normal: How Two Foster Kids Beat The Odds and Discovered Healing, Happiness and Love
What is it like to grow up in the foster care system? Justin & Alexis share how they found healing, happiness, and love after their childhood experiences with trauma & toxic relationships.
"I struggled with anxiety, depression, PTSD. I tried to commit suicide a few times... layers of trauma. It wasn't until I met my foster, now adoptive, parents that I got to start on that healing journey with them. I could go to counseling and actually work on things and not just focus on surviving each day." -Alexis Black

Part 2 of the Momentum Series: Moving On, Moving Forward, Moving Others
Hebrews 12:1-3– “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.
"The more that other women see that it’s possible to overcome things like mental health issues and addiction, the more women will be able to find freedom." -Melissa Moore

“When the gospel is presented in a way that respects teens' decision-making, it eases a lot of the tension, hurt and insecurities that they carry. They learn that God is a safe place to turn when they're struggling.” --Kelly Kirstein
How do you share about Jesus in the 21st Century?
Kelly Kirstein is the founder of Chicks Ministry. She began Chicks locally in 2010 to help young women have a safe place to learn about Jesus, healthy decision making, and how to navigate through the years of growing into a woman. Since then God has expanded the vision, leading Kelly to form Chicks into a nonprofit, start a website, build a community on social media, write books and create faith based curriculum. She is now sharing Christ with young women around the world.

All of Mark 3-4 is about sharing the gospel and hope of Jesus with others. Jesus’ teaching of the Parable of the Sower reminds us that good soil is not just measured by our personal life change, but by what we do with it.
Are we producing a crop? Are we sharing the gospel? Are other people becoming believers through what Jesus is doing in us? We need to not just bear fruit in our own lives, we should be planting seeds in others!

Join me as we talk about Judgment vs. Accountability, studying the contrast between Matthew 7:1-5 and Matthew 18:15-17.
My friend and accountability leader, Lindsay Reid, will also be on the show to discuss how to practically apply accountability and create your own accountability group!
"We do not have the right to look at other people and point out their sin and their flaws without first looking at ourselves, acknowledging that we too are flawed and broken, needing God's love. Judgement creates distance between us and other people but accountability brings closeness and allows us to come alongside and share the truth in love." —Melissa Moore
"Accountability breaks down shame and the power of shame. When we move into relationships where we can be vulnerable, we will be more open to bring forth our sin. that will help us in our relationship with God." —Lindsay Reid
