Martin Lewis discusses how much Energy Bills are set to rise following the hike in the wholesale price of gas from the usual 50p per therm to over 500p per therm causing twelve companies to go bust already Utilty Point and Avro Energy with over 1.5 million customers having to be migrated to a NEW supplier by Ofgem (with an "M" not an "N"). This time around customers will NOT, I repeat NOT be kept on any fixed rate deal they had with with their old "BUST" supplier (despite what Allan Beswick may say, he was wrong by the way) their tariffs will increase SIGNIFICANTLY up to 3 times the gas rate, or more depending who takes over their supply. Then on 1 April 2022 the government energy cap is set to rise still further to approximately £1660 to £1700 PER YEAR depending on how much gas a family / individual uses. Hard times ahead. Steven Fitzpatrick founder of Ovo Energy now the third largest with 4.6 million customers talks about "hedging" and why so many small companies are going BUST. Finally Kwasi Kwarteng talks to Andrew Marr about how well the government are looking after both domestic and businesses during this energy crisis with a final thought from Sonja a customer who has NEVER switched companies in 30 years of owning home with her husband John.
