The Chat is a series of podcasts from the team at Glasgow City Mission, the archetype and original model from which all subsequent City Missions drew their shape and inspiration. The Chat is hosted by Charles Maasz, CEO at Glasgow City Mission and is intended as a resource and a point of connection for anybody interested in the work that goes on at Glasgow City Mission. Our aim is to speak to people who’s passion, vocation, career, faith-journey or life aligns with an aspect of the work and the rhythm of what we do. Many will have a faith-perspective, some will not.
This Easter week we accompany Mary Magdalene to Jesus' tomb, where she makes a shocking discovery.
This week, we hear about a man who asked Jesus a question, and found the answer difficult to take.

Kate Mitchell works with Bethany Christian Trust, is a key part of the Glasgow City Mission/Bethany Glasgow partnership for employability and is co-founder of the charity Love Matters which seeks to speak into the harm that pornography causes young people.

Esther & Tim O’Connor have spent decades between them developing their craft as song writers, musicians, touring band, on-line marketers, and worship leaders, a career that has seen them travel the world and gather a devoted fan base. Together they form the country music band Ashton Lane and have released 13 albums. More recently they have become a part of our Glasgow City Mission team and we are delighted to have them along for a chat.
Wade Thomson hails from the USA and has been active in Glasgow church life for over a decade. He has been a long standing servant of Glasgow City Mission volunteering with us in the earliest days of his arrival in Scotland, he is a qualified white-water rafting guide and has been involved in a ministry of reconciliation, change-management, healing and Church revitalisation through his work with www.vitalchurchministry.org
Pastor Darnell Starks has been a pastor and preacher in Scotland for 17 years and was a trustee alongside Charles Maasz at The Haven residential rehab and training centre at Kilmacolm, before moving back to his native USA in the Autumn of 2020. Pastor Darnell offers his unique insight and perspective on church and mission in Scotland.

Paul McGarry is currently the Vice Convenor of the Scottish Liberal Democrats and spokesperson on Housing. Paul talks housing, homelessness, and personal testimony with Charles Maasz.
