Market update! We are off and running to start 2024! The S&P 500 wrapped up a strong quarter with a gain of 10.2%, marking its strongest first quarter performance in five years.
Four sectors notched double-digit gains. Led by energy (13.5%) The only sector that declined in the first quarter was real estate.
Bankman-Fried convinced on all seven counts of fraud, conspiracy and money laundering. Sentenced to 25 years in prison and ordered to forfeit 11 billion.

On Friday, March 10, 2023 the United States Government (FDIC) took control of Silicon Valley Bank after it collapsed amidst capital crisis. It marks the second largest bank failure in US history (Washington Mutual in 2008). What happened? Is this failure a cause for concern for investors and the financial markets? According to the Federal Reserve, outstanding student loan debt for American borrowers reached 1.7 trillion dollars as of March 2021. Doubling its previous balance in just a decade. Student loan debt is the now the second largest outstanding debt Americans hold passing auto loan debt and second only to mortgage loan debt. How did we get here and what are the underlying problems causing this figure to balloon so rapidly? What possible outcomes may come from the current administration as they look to address this issue.
