We're having a good old expression session! What’s REALLY annoying you about #sport right now?

Andrew & AJ tell it like it is, and listeners get their sporting angst off their chest too. Points of contention include:

  • Sports 'journalists' who don't know anything about more than one sport
  • Crowd violence and the d*ckheads who start it
  • Eurosnob football fans who don't go to the A-League
  • Blowouts in the NBA playoffs
  • The AFL treating AFLW as an afterthought
  • Refs faulters and umpire blamers... What is wrong with people?

This, plus plenty more. Got some sporting angst you want to unload? This is the place to get it said. Follow A Sporting Discussion on Facebook and Twitter, join us every week on YouTube and you can even leave a voice comment at the link below. Join in and be part of the fun!

A Sporting Discussion returns after an injury-enforced break! In this episode:

  • AJ enthrals with the heroic, epic tale of how he ruptured his achilles and his post-surgery recovery

Plus much more, including the latest round of listener questions!

In a special episode of A Sporting Discussion, Andrew and AJ speak to author Martin Lenehan about his book 'The Ashes'

Martin Lenehan is a sports writer and author who was formerly editor of Inside Edge magazine. He has covered the game in print and on radio for more than 25 years. He is also the author of ‘110 Years of Rugby League’ and ‘Baggy Green Legends’.

His book 'The Ashes: 140 Years of Rivalry, Rituals and Respect' is a collection of behind-the-scenes stories and hundreds of images showcasing the skill and talent of the men and women who play for their country and the history, prestige and rivalry of the clashes between Australia and the old enemy, England.

The foreword of the book is written by Ian Healy, one of Australia’s finest glovemen, and Martin spoke to a huge number of Aussie cricketing greats including Greg Chappell, Doug Walters, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazelwood, Mike Hussey and Christina Matthews.

It's a great chat about one of Australian sport's most enduring and stirring contests!

This week Andrew and AJ welcome back 'good friend of the show', cricket writer and broadcaster Adam Collins.

It's always a great chat with Adam - he covers more ground than Jonty Rhodes and is as forensic as a spell from Anil Kumble.

He talks about his experience getting home and quarantining in Australia, working out of hubs in the English summer and how COVID-19 affected the cricket world.

We also get stuck right into the Australia v India test series, rejoice in the Indian pace attack and weigh up the pros and cons about whether Australia should give Will Pucovski his test debut in Sydney.

The A-League cops a bad wrap from some corners of the Australian sports community and recent poor pay-tv ratings were used to give it another whack. Are things really that bad though?

We need someone who knows what they're on about to set us right, so in this episode of A Sporting Discussion, Andrew and AJ talk with The Age's Chief Soccer Reporter Michael Lynch about where the A-League sits in the Aussie sporting scene, how it got to this point and what if anything can turn things around.
