Proverbs 3:5-6
James 1:16-18 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth
“brought us forth” Greek word apokuéo means to produce, to breed. James is referring to our new birth, spiritual birth (eSword) John 1:13 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
“the word of truth” Jesus is the symbol of TRUTH John 14:6 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus is the one who sets us free John 8:31:32 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Joy Greek word chara (khar-ah’) Extend favor, joy (“grace recognised). Joy because of grace
James 1:2-8 count it all joy when you fall into various trials; V5 any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God,
HELPS Word study

“pure joy” = other translations use the word “All joy” Greek word for all is pas means – all, the whole, every kind of James is telling us not to fake it... make it the real deal, put your heart into it

Mark 4:15 When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word
James 1:12-16 v13 Let no one say “I am tempted by God”; nor does He Himself tempt anyone. v14tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. v15 desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;
Galatians 6:7-8 a man sows, he will also reap.
Sow means through the idea of extending; to scatter. Like a farmer who sows his crop Reap means to receive a thing by way of reward or punishment, harvest
Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send
portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for
the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for
Whatever you put out, you get back – if you do bad, then people respond and do bad to you If you are nice to people than people are nice to you
Sayings that sum up Sowing & Reaping - You can’t have your cake and eat it too What goes around comes aroun
You’re not always the one the sows and reaps
John 4:35-38 v36 he who reaps receives wages, gathers fruit for eternal life, he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
Both the sower and reaper receive the reward – eternal life Beinging the sower involves a lot of trust in the Lord to know another person will come and finish what you started. The sower may never see the fruit of his labour but receives payment for his part.

Ps Dean leads Sandy and Glenys in today's (25/07/2021) bible study from the comfort and warmth of Sandy's lounge room.
Notes for today's study....
Jn 16:8 ESV And when he comes [“the Spirit of truth” – see Jn 15:26], he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment...
HELPS Word-studies: “Convict” – greek ‘elégxō’ – to convince with solid, compelling evidence, especially to expose.
The Holy Spirit creates inner conviction in those who don’t know God by acting upon their conscience to expose sin and guilt, bring conviction concerning judgement for ungodliness, and compelling them to seek righteousness.
This work of Grace by the Holy Spirit is intended to lead people to repentance so that they might be saved.
2 Pet 3:9 ESV The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
1 Tim 2:1-4 ESV First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Saviour, 4who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Isaiah 55:7 ESV ... let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
For the believer, the Holy Spirit will also bring conviction of sin to lead us to repentance, but He also gives us the inner conviction of righteousness – affirmation of being in right standing with God.
Romans 8:16 ESV The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God
Confidence Before God
1 Jn 3:19-24 ESV By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; 20for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. 21Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; 22and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
The Voice of Conscience
2 Cor 1:12 ESV For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you.
Strong’s Concordance: “Testimony” – greek ‘marturion’ – “witness, evidence, testimony, proof”.
Sin Consciousness
Heb 10:1-2 ESV For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. 2Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins?
Seared Conscience
1 Tim 4:1-2 ESV Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared...
Good Conscience
1 Tim 1:5 AMPC Whereas the object and purpose of our instruction and charge is love, which springs from a pure heart and a good (clear) conscience and sincere (unfeigned) faith.
1 Tim 1:18-19 ESV This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith...
“Good Conscience”: Biblico-Theological Lexicon of New Testament Greek, “The word [“good”] expresses in its use... that the thing spoken of is perfect in its kind, so as to produce pleasure, satisfaction, and a sense of well-being. The fundamental conception of the word is that of well-being, pleasure.”
1 Cor 4:3-4 ESV But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. 4For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me.
Acts 24:14-16 ESV But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets, 15having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust. 16So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man.
Cleansed Hearts
Heb 9:11-14 ESV But when Christ appeared as a high priest... he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. 13For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
Heb 10:19-22 ESV Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Heb 4:14-16 ESV Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
1 Jn 1:9 AMPC If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].

Ephesians 2:13 NKJV 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Matt 5:13-16 NKJV 13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

1 John 5:4-5 ESV 4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Why we do Communion
1 Corinthians 1:9 9 God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Why we should repent before taking communion
1 Corinthians 10:21 ESV 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.
1 Corinthians 11:27 AMPC 27 So then whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in a way that is unworthy [of Him] will be guilty of [profaning and sinning against] the body and blood of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 11:28-31 AMPC 28 Let a man [thoroughly] examine himself, and [only when he has done] so should he eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discriminating and recognizing with due appreciation that [it is Christ’s] body, eats and drinks a sentence (a verdict of judgment) upon himself. 30 That [careless and unworthy participation] is the reason many of you are weak and sickly, and quite enough of you have fallen into the sleep of death. 31 For if we searchingly examined ourselves [detecting our shortcomings and recognizing our own condition], we should not be judged and penalty decreed [by the divine judgment].
What the Bread and Wine represent…
1 Corinthians 10:16 16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
1 Corinthians 11:26 ESV 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
1Corinthians 11:23-24 ESV 23 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
Partake the Bread
1 Corinthians 11:25 ESV 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
Partake the Wine
2 Corinthians 13:14 NKJV 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

1 John 4:1-4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Invite Jesus into your life today by saying out loud this simple prayer or put it into your own words
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before you as a sinner,
I thank you for your son, Jesus.
He took my sins, illnesses and iniquities to the cross
Leaving them in hell
Cleansing me with the power of the blood,
He rose again to sit on the righthand side of you, Father.
Eternal life is mine,
As I take up my cross and ask Jesus into my heart.
I praise you Father, Amen

Zach 4:6
Matt 4:18-20 18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
Mark 1:30 30 But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once. 31 So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them
Luke 5:4-6 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
Luke 5:8 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”
Matt 14:28-3128 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Matthew 16:16-19 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Mark 5:37-43 37 And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. 38 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult (ESV uses commotion, Other translations use uproar) and those who wept and wailed loudly. 39 When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead but sleeping.” 40 And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi, ”which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.”42 Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. 43 But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat.
Mark 9-2-6 2 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. 3 His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them. 4 And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. 5 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”— 6 because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid
Mark 14-32-42 32 Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”33 And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. 34 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” 35 He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. 36 And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” 37 Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour?38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 39 Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words. 40 And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him. 41 Then He came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.42 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”
Mark 14:29-31 ESV 29 Peter said to him, “Even though they all fall away, I will not.”30 And Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”31 But he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same.
Mark 14:66-72 66 Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came. 67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with Jesus of Nazareth.” 68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are saying.” And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed. 69 And the servant girl saw him again, and began to say to those who stood by, “This is one of them.” 70 But he denied it again. And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again, “Surely you are one of them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.” 71 Then he began to curse and swear, “I do not know this Man of whom you speak!” 72 A second time the rooster crowed. Then Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And when he thought about it, he wept.
Luke 24:12 12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marvelling to himself at what had happened.
Acts 4:8-14 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: 9 If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, 10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marvelled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. 14 And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
Acts 4:18-2018 So they called them (the priests) and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
Acts 10:28 28 Then he (Peter) said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
Acts 10:34-36 34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. 36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all—

It's time to Receive - Sandy
Luke 18:28-30 NKJV 28 Then Peter said, “See, we have left all and followed You.” 29 So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,30 who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.”
The 2 men on the cross with Jesus
Luke 23:41 AMPC 41 And we indeed suffer it justly, receiving the due reward of our actions; but this Man has done nothing out of the way [nothing strange or eccentric or perverse or unreasonable]
Colossians 3:24 AMPC 24 Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward. [The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ (the Messiah).
2John 1:8 NKJV 8 Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward
Luke 18:40-43 NKJV
40 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, 41 saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” 42 Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.”43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
Luke 9:11 NKJV 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.
Luke 9:4-5 NKJV 4 “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart.5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
Acts 28:30 NKJV 30 Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him
1 Corinthians 11:23-29 ESV 23 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord.28 Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.
1 Corinthians 15:1-3 1Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
Hebrews 12:28-29 NKJV 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.
Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV 6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Obedience to the Lord - Sandy
HELPS Word Study
Obedience Greek word hupakoé (hoop-ak-o-ay')
From akoúō = "to hear" and hypo = "beneath"
i.e. obedience – literally,
"submission to what is heard"
Hebrews 5:8 ESV 8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered
Romans 5:19 NKJV 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 6:16 ESV 16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness
Romans 16:17-20 NKJV 17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. 18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. (ESV uses innocent)19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortl
Ephesians 5:15-21 15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God
THAYER’S GREEK LEXICON
Fear Greek word phobos (fob'-os)
reverence, respect (for authority, rank, dignity)
2 Corinthians 10:5-6 NKJV 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
2 Corinthians 10:5-6 ESV 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,6 being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete
1 Peter 1:13-14 NKJV13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;
QUOTE From Robert D. Hales, American businessman & a member of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Sains
“There is nothing that we are enduring that Jesus does not understand, and He waits for us to go to our Heavenly Father in prayer. If we will be obedient and if we are diligent, our prayers will be answered, our problems will diminish, our fears will dissipate, light will come upon us, the darkness of despair will be dispersed, and we will be close to the Lord
1Peter 1:2 TPT 2 You are not forgotten, for you have been chosen and destined by Father God. The Holy Spirit has set you apart to be God’s holy ones, obedient followers of Jesus Christ who have been gloriously sprinkled with his blood. May God’s delightful grace and peace cascade over you many times over!
Colossians 3:17 TPT 17 Let every activity of your lives and every word that comes from your lips be drenched with the beauty of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. And bring your constant praise to God the Father because of what Christ has done for you

Ephesians 1:17-23 (I have paraphrased)
Dear Heavenly Father,
Grant me a spirit of wisdom & the revelation of Jesus.
Open the eyes to my heart and make my heart at one with the Holy Spirit,
So, I can fulfill my calling in Christ & receive my inheritance.
Give me the wisdom to understand the powerful greatness of Jesus,
When you raised him up from the dead & set him on your right in Heaven,
Above all principalities, powers, might, dominion & every name that is named here on earth and in heaven.
You put the enemy under my feet so that I am the head of my being,
And I am in covenant with Jesus Christ.
Because I believe he gave his life for my sins setting me free of all unrighteousness.
God is now forever in my heart.

1 Corinthians 1:9 9 God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 10:21 ESV 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.
1Corinthians 11:27 AMPC 27 So then whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in a way that is unworthy [of Him] will be guilty of [profaning and sinning against] the body and blood of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 11:28-31 AMPC 28 Let a man [thoroughly] examine himself, and [only when he has done] so should he eat of the bread and drink of the cup.29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discriminating and recognizing with due appreciation that [it is Christ’s] body, eats and drinks a sentence (a verdict of judgment) upon himself.30 That [careless and unworthy participation] is the reason many of you are weak and sickly, and quite enough of you have fallen into the sleep of death. 31 For if we searchingly examined ourselves [detecting our shortcomings and recognizing our own condition], we should not be judged and penalty decreed [by the divine judgment].
1 Corinthians 10:16 16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
1 Corinthians 11:26 ESV 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes
1 Corinthians 11:25 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
2 Corinthians 13:14 NKJV 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
“The God of the Old Testament” – part 2
Recap on Part 1
• For I the LORD do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed. Mal 3:6 ESV (see also James 1:17, Ps 102:25-27, Ps 90:2)
• Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face. Ps 89:14 NKJV AMPC - mercy and loving-kindness and truth go before Your face.
• Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 106:1 ESV (repeated 11 times throughout Psalms, Chronicles, Ezra and Jeremaiah).
• When God speaks for Himself - (see also Romans 9:14-15, Exodus 33:15-23)
Exodus 34:5-8 - “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”
AMPC - mercy and loving-kindness and truth go before Your face. Sample Old Testament – New Testament tie in:
Ezekiel 33:11 ESV - As I live, declares the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live
2 Peter 3:9 ESV - The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
If all these things are true (and they are), why does the way God dealt with humanity in the Old Testament look so different to how He deals with the world in the New Testament?
Prior to Christ, people throughout the centuries sought God and established relationships with Him that set them apart from the world and they were called righteous.
Heb 11:4-7 ESV - By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still
5 speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken
6 him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to
please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek
7 him. By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for
the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
Abraham entered into a blood covenant with God and became the father of the Hebrew people who later became known as the people of Israel.
As God’s chosen people, the Israelites received the Law of God and experienced His power, His presence and His miraculous intervention in their lives.
People from outside the people of Israel could turn from the idolatry and pagan practices of their own people and turn to the God of Israel and join themselves to the people of Israel, and when they did they were accepted into the people of God.
Ruth a Moabite woman is one outstanding example of this as we see in Ruth 1:15-16 ESV –
And she said, “See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” 16But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.
Ruth married Boaz and became grandmother of King David, and she was included in the genealogy of Jesus.
Rahab the prostitute from the city of Jericho, who gave protection to the Israeli spies, is another one – she married Salmon and became the mother of Boaz, and is also listed in the genealogy of Jesus recorded in Matthew chapter 1.
So from the time of Abraham, God’s dealings with Humanity centred around Israel – His covenant people – and those from outside this people group who entered into the covenant and joined themselves to God’s covenant people.
This is one of the primary distinctions between God’s dealings with Humanity in the Old Testament and the New Testament. But there’s another factor that is even more in its importance and impact, and that lies in the intrinsic nature of human kind.
Human nature outside of God is dominated by two main instincts:
These traits centre around self, and this self-focus is the birthplace of all sin. Left without restraint, these driving forces cause people to behave like animals and defile and degrade themselves.
2 Peter 2:9-14 ESV – then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, 10and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and wilful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, 11whereas angels, though
12 greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord. But these,
like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which
they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction, 13suffering wrong as the wage for their wrongdoing.
They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, revelling in their deceptions, while they
14 feast with you. They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts
trained in greed. Accursed children!
Jude 1:3-4, 10 ESV – Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it 4
necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
10But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively.
How do you deal with these traits, how do you manage a situation like this?
Well, it’s a lot like training a pet or a little child – it’s the system of reward and punishment.
And this is just what God did during this period, He gave His people the Law and commandments to guide and govern their behaviours for their best interests, and then set in place rewards and punishments to go together with the commandments.
16 Deuteronomy 30:15-20 ESV – “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. If you obey the
commandments of the Lord your God that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his
ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the
17 Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. But if your heart turns away,
and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them, 18I declare to you today, that you
19 shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess. I call
heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
Deuteronomy chapter 28 is the entire list of both the blessings and the curses – the rewards and punishments – that belong with the commandments that God gave the nation of Israel.
Romans 7:12 ESV – So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.
So if the people had God’s Law, and the Law is holy, righteous and good, then what went wrong?
Hebrews 8:7-12 ESV – For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a 8
second. For he finds fault with them when he says:
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and
with the house of Judah, 9not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the
hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern 10
for them, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,
declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and
11 they shall be my people. And they shall not teach, each one his neighbour and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know
12 the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will be merciful toward their
iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”
13 Romans 7:12-13 ESV – So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. Did that which is
good, then, bring death to me? By no means! It was sin, producing death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might become sinful beyond measure.
The Law of God was perfect but yet was unable to bring a person into righteousness because of the operation of sin and self at the very core of Human nature.
The Law of God was given for 3 major purposes.
Ezekiel 36:26-27 NKJV – I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out 27
of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
The fulfilment of this Old Testament promise is what makes the Old and New Testaments so radically different, because Jesus brought this promise into being by bringing us the forgiveness of our sins, the cleansing from all unrighteousness, the New Birth – being born again by the Spirit of God, and the indwelling God’s Holy Spirit as a result.
John 3:16-19 ESV – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not 17
perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that
18 the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe
19 is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment:
the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
This represents a major shift in the way judgement is administrated compared to the way it was before appearing of Christ Jesus.
John 5:22-23 ESV – For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honour the Son, just as they honour the Father. Whoever does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who sent him.
John 3:18 AMPC – He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation—he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ’s name.]
Anyone who rejects the mercy of God through Jesus Christ is already in and under judgement. So what does this judgement look like?
• Alienated from God – Eph 4:17-18 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
• Without God and without hope – Eph 2:12 ESV remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
• Dead in sin – Eph 2:1-3 ESV And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
• Hateful and hated – Titus 3:3 ESV For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.
• Domination by the kingdom of darkness – Colossians 1:13 AMPC [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love
1 John 5:19 ESV – We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. John 16:11 AMPC – About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is judged and
condemned and sentence already is passed upon him.
(See also 1 John 3:10, 1 Tim 3:6)
There is also a final Judgement that will be executed by the Lord Jesus Christ following His second coming.
Heb 9:27 ESV – And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment
Acts 10:42-43 – And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to 43
be judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.
2 Cor 5:10 ESV – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
(See also Acts 17:30-31, Matt 25:31-46, 1 Cor 4:5)
The New Testament is the revealing of an entirely new era in the history of mankind with the introduction of a better covenant based on better promises, and this covenant is permanent and unchanging.
Heb 8:6 ESV – But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.
23 Heb 7:22-25 ESV – This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant. The former priests were many in number,
because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, 24but he holds his priesthood permanently,
25 because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God
through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
It’s essential that we understand and that the revelation of the God’s eternal covenant of grace and salvation through Jesus Christ DOES NOT represent even the smallest variation in the character, nature or majesty of Almighty God.
The revelation of God’s plan of redemption in New Testament DOES NOT IN ANY WAY represent a dumbed-down or watered-down God – He cannot and will not change, and He never compromises His standards of righteousness, truth and justice, not for anyone, not ever.
Heb 10:24-31 ESV – And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25not neglecting to meet
together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for
27 28 sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has
29 set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse
punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
(See also 1 Cor 10:1-12, 1 Pet 1:14-19)
We are truly privileged to live in the era of the New Testament and the covenant of grace, but with great privilege comes great accountability, and the urgent demand that we walk in the fear of the Lord, and live our lives to serve and please our Father God.
Titus 2:11-14 ESV – For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, 14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Phil 2:14-15 ESV – Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world

Luke 7:2-10 ESV 2 Now a centurion had a servant who was sick and at the point of death, who was highly valued by him. 3 When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and heal his servant. 4 And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy to have you do this for him, 5 for he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue.”6 And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. 7 Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed. 8 For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me: and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’and he does it.” 9 When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.” 10 And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well

Acts 19:11-15 AMPC11 And God did unusual and extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,
12 So that handkerchiefs or towels or aprons which had touched his skin were carried away and put upon the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them. 13 Then some of the traveling Jewish exorcists (men who adjure evil spirits) also undertook to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, I solemnly implore and charge you by the Jesus Whom Paul preaches! 14 Seven sons of a certain Jewish chief priest named Sceva were doing this. 15 But [one] evil spirit retorted, Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you? 16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit dwelt leaped upon them, mastering two of them, and was so violent against them that they dashed out of that house [in fear], stripped naked and wounded. 17 This became known to all who lived in Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks, and alarm and terror fell upon them all; and the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled (means to pray enthusiastically) and magnified. 18 Many also of those who were now believers came making full confession and thoroughly exposing their [former deceptive and evil] practices.
19 And many of those who had practiced curious, magical arts collected their books and [throwing them, book after book, on the pile] burned them in the sight of everybody. When they counted the value of them, they found it amounted to 50,000 pieces of silver (about $9,300).
20 Thus the Word of the Lord [concerning the attainment through Christ of eternal salvation in the kingdom of God] grew and spread and intensified, prevailing mightily.

Abide in the Vine & Love
John 15:1-17 ESV
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

Acts 28:25-27 25 So when they did not agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had said one word: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, 26 saying,
‘Go to this people and say: “Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand; And seeing you will see, and not perceive; 27 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.” ’

Acts 28:26 And seeing you will see, and not perceive;
Matt 13:13-17 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; 15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed,Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’ 16 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; 17 for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
Acts 28:27 For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Eze 36:26 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Acts 19:11-12 11 God kept releasing a flow of extraordinary miracles through the hands of Paul. 12 Because of this, people took Paul’s handkerchiefs and articles of clothing, even pieces of cloth that had touched his skin, laying them on the bodies of the sick, and diseases and demons left them and they were healed.

LOVE
Matt 22:36-39 Passion Translation 36. Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest.37. Jesus answered him, “Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being and with every thought that is within you”. 38.This is the great and supreme commandment. 39. And the second is like it in importance: “you must love your friend in the same way you love yourself.

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,3. unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self- control, brutal, despisers of good. 4. They will be traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God 5. having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away.

It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered not easily irritated, itkeeps no record of wrongs, not quick to take offence. 6. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It joyfully celebrates honesty. 7. It always protects, it is a safe place of shelter, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never takes failure as defeat for Love never gives up. So guard your heart.

PERSISTENCE WORKS
Luke 18:1-8 TPT
18 One day Jesus taught the apostles to keep praying and never stop or lose hope. He shared with them this illustration:
2 “In a certain town there was a civil judge, a thick-skinned and godless man who had no fear of others’opinions. 3 And there was a poor widow in that town who kept pleading with the judge, ‘Grant me justice and protect me against my oppressor!’
4–5 “He ignored her pleas for quite some time, but she kept asking. Eventually he said to himself, ‘This widow keeps annoying me, demanding her rights, and I’m tired of listening to her. Even though I’m not a religious man and don’t care about the opinions of others, I’ll just get her off my back by answering her claims for justice and I’ll rule in her favor. Then she’ll leave me alone.’”
6 The Lord continued, “Did you hear what the ungodly judge said—that he would answer her persistent request? 7 Don’t you know that God, the true judge, will grant justice to all of his chosen ones who cry out to him night and day? He will pour out his Spirit upon them. He will not delay to answer you and give you what you ask for.8 God will give swift justice to those who don’t give up. So be ever praying, ever expecting, just like the widow was with the judge. Yet when the Son of Man comes back, will he find this kind of persistent faithfulness in his people?”

I am able to stand up against all evil today,
I wear my loins gurt of truth,
The breast plate of righteousness,
My feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel.
And above all, I hold onto the shield of faith to absorb all of the fiery darts from the wicked.
I have the helmet of salvation on,
And my sword is spirit of the word from God

Salvation Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for being so patient with me,
I have wronged you and my life is going down the wrong path.
I repent now for coming into agreement with the enemy
I ask for your forgiveness
As I acknowledge Jesus died for me
Taking my sins, illnesses and iniquities to the cross
Leaving them in Hell
I declare, Jesus is my Lord and Saviour
Because he rose again into Eternal life in Heaven
Ensuring my place in Heaven
As I pick up my cross and walk in your likeness.
In Jesus Name, Amen

John 6:53-58 53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is [k]food indeed, and My blood is [l]drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

Breaking of the bread…
23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, [a]“Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Romans 8:1-11
8 There Is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit Is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Deuteronomy 28:1-14 Prayer - Paraphrased.
I listen carefully and obey the voice of my Lord Jesus, I am observing and acting on his commandments, That he commands upon me today. Jesus sets me high above all nations on earth.
All blessings have come on me and overtake me because I am listening to his word. I am blessed in the city, and I am blessed in the field. My children, the food I grow, the offspring of my pets and livestock are always blessed.
Blessings are on my baskets and my stores. I am blessed when I come in and blessed when I go out. Jesus will cause my enemies that rise up against me to be defeated before me. They come out against me one way and flee before me seven different ways. Jesus commands the blessing upon me abundantly and all I set my hands too; Jesus blesses me in the land that he gives me. I lead people to the Lord, as I have sworn to do, keeping the commandments and walking in his ways. People see I have been called to preach and they are afraid of me, now that I am in Christ. All people find me approachable and in Christ, likeable for his favor, rest’s on me. The Holy Spirit gives me the word in season that those I’m speaking to find them palatable, inspirational, empowering, encouraging, directional and they want to spend time with me to grow in Christ. Since I have found my liberty in Christ the people that come into my presence have been sovereignly invited. I am abundant in prosperity, fruitful in the flesh; my livestock and the ground multiply, which I am given. Jesus gives me good fortune; Rain shall nourish my ground each season and bless my hard work. I lend to others, but I do not borrow. I am a leader not a follower. I rise up and I am beneath no one, because I listen and act on the commandments. I do not waiver from the word commanded upon me today, from the right or from the left. Following only in God Almighty the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name, Amen

Power in Prayer
Psalm 24:1-2 The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, 2for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
Psalm 115:16 The heavens are the LORD’s heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of man.
STRONGS: Given – give, bestow, grant, permit... commit, entrust
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Luke 4:5-7 And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, 6 and said to him, “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. 7 If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.”
STRONGS: Delivered – to hand over, to give or deliver over, to betray NASB “handed over” / Berean Study Bible “relinquished” / AMPC “turned over”
1 John 5:19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
‘GOD is in control’ – No He’s not in control of the things that He has delegated.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
STRONGS: ‘aion’ World – a space of time, an age (NKJV/BSB – age)
Gal 1:3-5 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
1 Corinthians 2:7-8 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
God works out His purpose in this Earth through human agencies – that’s why even Jesus had to become a human man born of a woman in order to be God’s agent for the salvation of men – He became “the son of Man”
Amos 3:7 For the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.
God constantly referred to His prophets by the term “son of man” establishing that He had vessels on earth who would hear His voice and obey His command, bringing His purposes into effect on the Earth.
Matt 6:9-10 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Heb 3:1-2 Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, 2 who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house.
STRONGS: ‘homologia’ (noun) confession - an agreement, confession (verb) ‘homologeó’ – to speak the same, to agree Thayer Definition: to say the same thing as another, i.e. to agree with, assent
1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
2 Pet 1:20-21 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
2 Tim 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
God’s purposes are revealed in His Word, and He’s looking for us to come into agreement with His will, and to pray and confess His will so that He can bring it to pass.
2 Cor 1:20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.
2 Pet 1:2-4 May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us toc his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
Two Prayers that God doesn’t answer – When we ask God to do something that He’s already done, and when we ask Him to do something that He has told us to do.
Phil 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
The thanksgiving comes because we already know God’s intention to hear and answer our prayer and that He has already made provision for what it is that we seek, so we know that it’s a ‘done deal’.
Rom 8:32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
1 Tim 6:17 As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
God is not withholding any good thing from us, He desires that we reach the place where through our relationship with Him we confidently ask and receive whatever we need or desire.
John 15:17 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
So always lead your prayer with the promise of God.
WISDOM – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (James 1:5)
GUIDANCE – When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth... and he will declare to you the things that are to come. (Jn 16:13)
PROVISION – And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:19)
HEALING – He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. (1 Pet 2:24)
The goal is always to end up in the position of ‘the prayer of faith’.
James 5:15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Praying in the Spirit
Eph 6:16-18 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints
We need to come into partnership with the Holy Spirit in our prayers, relying on Him to reveal God’s heart and will for a person or situation, and from that position of revelation to then pray ‘the prayer of faith’.
1 Cor 2:11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God
1 Cor 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. 1 Cor 14:2 For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one
understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. Mysteries – what can only be known through revelation (HELPS)
Rom 8:26-27 So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.
27 And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God’s will.
