Sunday Night Worship Explosion: Recent Episodes

Marita M

This program is geared towards spiritual encouragement with the motivation of uplifting people. It has more of a Christian based focus but it can be inspiring and encouraging for all types of open-minded people. All different types of life issues are discussed and Marita breaks it down for people in a way that relates to God and the Bible story. This isn't your "typical" religious show as Marita is not your stereotypical "Christian". She believes in God and has a relationship with Jesus but she does respect all different types of spirituality and her main goal is to encourage people to tap into their own individual faith and relationship with God, whatever that looks like.

Christian music is also a big part of this program, as that's how the program started out when Marita inherited it, but she put her own twist on it by engaging with her listening audience through encouraging messages mixed with uplifting music.

Although this has a Christian-based theme, Marita would encourage people to look past your bias opinions and be open-minded into possibly what some of the bible teaching were trying to get across. She is in no way trying to convert anyone. If anything, she encourages people to find their own unique relationship with spirituality in whatever love language it plays out in. Christianity just so happens to be the language Marita relates to the most and is able to analyze.

This is a courageous one! For those of us that are shy, the spirit of timidity is a real and prevalent thing in our lives. It challenges us and makes us timid. Well what if you challenged it back? What if you got sick of it and decided to break free of the spirit of timidity? What if that's what God was calling you to do all along by pressing you with this spirit of timidity, to show you that you have nothing to feel timid about all along? What if God wants you to take a stand and not be timid? Stand up amongst the crowd and speak out for what's right! This episode covers just that and talks about a testimony of Marita's about overcoming the spirit of timidity. It's message for people is to overcome the spirit of timidity in your own personal life.

This episode breaks down the façade that we sometimes put on and encourages you to drop it! We sometimes put on this mask of who we think we should be and who we think God wants us to be but it's okay to be yourself and maybe we need to have the courage and strength to break out and not be afraid of who we really are and not be afraid of being accepted. God can see through your façade and he knows who you really on so you don't have to put on an act with him either. How many times do we put on an act in our prayer life, pretending to be thankful when sometimes we don't "feel" thankful, and we are angry or upset? Well it's okay to go to God angry and express yourself, he understands. Maybe he just wants you to be honest with him and not phony. After all he can see through your façade so drop it!

It's all about Identity! Who am I? This is an emotional one. In this episode, who you are in Christ is the topic covered. It encourages people about their identity, it shows people that they are somebody and that they are loved. A lot of us wonder who am I really? We think we have to be this big superstar in human standards to be somebody but in reality God already created somebody in you. We struggle with trying to figure out what's my purpose, but what if your purpose is just to be?

Marita continues to break down the issues of "Christian" bondage and law. This may seem a little radical to some conservative Christians, but Marita talks about the importance of having that personal relationship spiritually with God and that that is what is most important. It's not about the religion you practice or the laws you follow with that. The most important thing is having that relationship with God. This talks about the difficulties of separating relationship over religion because a lot of walk that fine line and it's hard to differentiate. Marita shares her own personal opinions on this and her own experience and relates it to the topic discussed.

On this edition of the Sunday Night Worship Explosion, the topic of freedom and the free will we are given is discussed. It starts hinting at Marita's realization that we all do not need to fit into this "cookie cutter" mold of what a Christian" should be like and a lot of us get that confused. She mentions that some of us get stuck in "Christian bondage" and that God doesn't call us to be stuck there and that we are indeed free to live our lives and make our own choices. He gave us free will and make us uniquely so this program breaks down the Christian stereotype a little and encourages people to fit into their own spiritual mold.

This is part 2 of the topic on "Fruit of the Spirit". This particular program gets more detailed on how we need to learn to have self control and that we don't need to limit ourselves from engaging with others that are not on the same spiritual path, but learn to have self control and do things in moderation when it comes to going to parties, and socially engaging with others. This program talks about how Jesus didn't keep himself locked away in the synagogues away from the general population and neither should you. It hints at being slightly radical from "main stream" religion or Christianity. It uses Jesus as an example to follow after.

This particular program is about the topic of "Love". Although it's a broad topic, Marita gives a couple scripture examples but she mixes in there tips on how to showcase love in your life. How to love yourself and love others. This program might be a little "lovey dove-y" for some but see the progress from where Marita starts off with these programs as she goes deeper into other subjects as the show progresses forward.

All the music heard in this program has the theme of love.
