“That my friend is what the f*ck a roast is supposed to be — hard-hitting, relentless jokes of no consequence,” Hart said.
He also praised the performers who participated.
“You go hard, you go home. Shout out to every comedian that came on that stage because they all understood the assignment.”
When challenged about whether Hinchcliffe went too far, Hart suggested that pushing boundaries is built into the genre.

Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett unleashed a fiery defense of Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett on Thursday, arguing that Republican efforts to censure the delegate over text messages with Jeffrey Epstein were driven by hypocrisy and racial bias.
Speaking during a livestream, the Democratic congresswoman claimed Plaskett was singled out because she is a "black woman," contrasting the scrutiny Plaskett faced with the GOP's support for Donald Trump.
The comments followed a dramatic scene on the House floor where Plaskett narrowly avoided censure. “The audacity to decide that you want to strip a black woman of her committee assignment because she was texting with Epstein, but you don’t even want to dig into the nitty-gritty about what the president of the United States was up to,” Crockett said. “That’s where we are? Okay.”
Crockett also took a candid approach to the ethics of the situation, suggesting that communicating via text is simply a reality of modern politics rather than a sign of corruption.

A football player from the University of Alabama at Birmingham is now in custody after allegedly stabbing two of his teammates just before the game kicked off.
The attack occurred Saturday at the Football Operations Center, the training center, just hours before the Blazers were scheduled to play the South Florida Bulls at 3 p.m ET at Protective Stadium in Birmingham.
The names of the players have not been made public due to patient privacy and an ongoing investigation, a school spokesperson told The Independent.
However, Jefferson County Jail records show that Daniel Mincey, a 20-year-old redshirt freshman, was booked at 12.40 p.m. Saturday. He faces charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder.
The two injured players are now in stable condition, the school said. The injured players were reportedly transported to UAB Hospital, Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service told AL.com.
“We’re grateful to report that two players injured in an incident this morning at the Football Operations Building are in stable condition. Our thoughts are with them and their families as they recover. The suspect – another player – remains in custody, and an investigation is taking place,” a university spokesperson told The Independent in a statement.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas Metro police released videos Friday of the aftermath of a road-rage shooting that left an 11-year-old dead.
The department released several body-camera videos after NewsNation affiliate KLAS requested the videos. The Metro officer happened to drive by the shooting scene while on another task. Henderson police are in charge of the investigation.
Tyler Johns, 22, is accused of shooting and killing Brandon Dominguez on Friday, Nov. 14. Dominguez was sitting in his father’s vehicle while on the way to school.

Jones fired his gun on the 215 Southern Beltway near Gibson Road after he and Valente “engaged in a road-rage exchange,” documents said.
The videos show officers talking to other witnesses who said they saw the two drivers committing road rage.
“Between these two, I saw it way back at Gibson,” one witness said. “And they were just doing this [expletive] all over [expletive] in and out, in and out, passing each other in the emergency lane.”
“Road raging, he came up around the side on the merge,” Johns said as the officer put him in his cruiser. “It’s 100% my fault, I shot at him. I didn’t know that he had a kid in the car.”
Clark County prosecutors said Johns’ actions were premeditated, leading to a murder charge. Justice of the Peace Barbara Schifalacqua denied bail, saying that Johns endangered the public when he fired his gun on a public roadway.

Seven teenagers, including a child as young as thirteen, have been shot following a riot at a Christmas tree lighting event in the US.
The chaos unfolded last night in Chicago's Loop, just hours after city's official Christmas light ceremony in nearby Millennium Park. The teenagers, all aged between 13 and 17, were shot at around 9:50pm, near the intersection of State and Randolph streets, the Chicago Police Department said. Alderman Hopkins, who represents the district of second ward, told how "multiple police officers" were also attacked and injured with mace and stun guns, with at least one hospitalised.
The free event was reportedly stormed by as many as 300 young people, Hopkins added. He wrote on X:" 300 juveniles rioting in the Loop now, at least 5 victims shot, one critical with life threatening gunshot wound to torso. Multiple police officers attacked and injured with mace and stun guns, at least one PO hospitalized."
Courtney Spinelli, a reporter with WGNNews, said officers saw a large group appear on the streets and then heard shots being fired near the Chicago Theatre. Spinelli also confirmed that the youngest victim was a 13-year-old girl, who was shot in the leg and is in a fair condition. The only other female victim was a 14-year-old who was shot in the hip. All the remaining victims are boys who suffered gunshots to the leg or a graze wound, with all said to be in a good condition.
Witness Linda Dixon was leaving the Chicago Theatre as police flooded the scene. "We're coming out of the theatre, and everybody just start running," she told CBS. "We almost got knocked in the street, because everyone was running that way from down here.
"I'm not exactly sure what happened. It is very disheartening to see this, you know? Holiday time, everybody wants to celebrate and enjoy the evening, and something like this happens."

The estate of Ta’Kiya Young sued Blendon Township and its police chief over her August 2023 fatal shooting in the parking lot of a grocery store in the Columbus suburbs. She had been suspected of shoplifting bottles of alcohol when Officer Connor M. Grubb and another officer approached her car. Young, 21, partially lowered her window and the other officer ordered her to get out of the vehicle.

A man has been arrested after authorities said he made social media threats just hours before students and community members gathered for a vigil honoring Charlie Kirk at the University of Texas at San Antonio, according to reports.
Xaelyn Dunbar, 19, has been charged with making a terroristic threat by intentionally and knowingly threatening to commit violence. Senate GOP bill would form public transit violence task force after Iryna Zarutska’s murder on Charlotte trainWASHINGTON — Sens. Tim Scott (R-SC) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) introduced a bill Tuesday to establish a federal task force to address violence on public transit and boost reporting of those incidents to Congress, weeks after a young woman was horrifically stabbed to death on a Charlotte, NC, light rail train.
The Transit Crime Reporting Act would establish a 12-member task force chaired by the head of the Federal Transit Administration to compile a report within two years providing recommendations on how to halt violent acts on public transportation.
The four-page bill would also require Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to inform the committees overseeing public transportation issues in Congress about “all crime occurring on federally funded transit systems that transit agencies are required to report to the National Transit Database.”

Trump Pal And MAGA Influencer Attacks Rep. Jasmine Crockett With Racist TermRepublican political activist Laura Loomer used a racially charged term to insult Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) in a post on social media this week.
On Thursday, the far-right activist quoted a post on X that referenced Crockett’s alleged treatment of her staff. Loomer then took it as an opening to hurl her own set of insults.
“Why are people surprised?” Loomer asked. “This is typical DEI Shaniqua behavior.”
Loomer’s usage of “Shaniqua” was widely interpreted as a racist dig — the name is commonly associated with Black women and has often been weaponized as a derogatory and demeaning stereotype.
But, she didn’t stop there.
In a follow-up post, Loomer doubled down and tagged Crockett directly.
“In the dictionary next to the word Shaniqua is a photo of Jasmine Crockett,” she wrote.
Users on the platform quickly rallied behind Crockett, calling out Loomer’s language.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) hit back at President Donald Trump after he called her “low-IQ,” arguing the president uses the insult to target people of color. (See her response in the video above.)
The congresswoman said Tuesday during a CNN interview that she doesn’t “care how many Black MAGA out there” are wearing Trump-supporting hats, the president “has a problem with people of color.”
Crockett was responding after Trump mocked the idea that the Texas Democrat, whose star has risen quickly since she was first elected to Congress in 2022, is one of the leaders of her party.
“You have this woman, Crockett. Very low-IQ person,” Trump said during a CNBC interview on Tuesday. “Somebody said the other day she’s one of the leaders of the party. I said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding.’”
He also, bizarrely, questioned whether she is related to 19th-century frontiersman Davy Crockett.
“I wonder if she’s any relation to the late, great Davy Crockett, who is a great, great, a great gentleman,” he said. “I wonder if she’s got any relationship to Davy Crockett, the great old Davy Crockett.”
Appearing on CNN’s “The Source With Kaitlan Collins,” Crockett said Trump has “nothing of substance to contribute when it comes to critiquing me.”
After pointing out Trump seldom engages in the substantive point of an argument when hurling abuse, she added: “It’s a common insult when it comes to people of color. He just threw the same exact insult at Charlamagne tha God, and so I want people to see him and understand who he is.”
“This is a person that has a problem with people of color, period,” she added. “I don’t care how many Black MAGA out there with they hats.”
She continued the “low IQ” gibe could easily be applied to Trump’s “incompetent” Cabinet, citing the scandal surrounding Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s inadvertent sharing of highly sensitive national security information with an editor at The Atlantic on the messaging app Signal.

USS Carney, another Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, was operating in the Mediterranean Sea after making a port visit in Sicily last week when the attack happened.
Also equipped with the Aegis Combat System and accompanying interceptor missiles, the warship assisted in downing the Iranian-launched ballistic missiles.
Like it's sister ship, the Carney is also fitted with a multi-function, 3D air search radar and Phalanx Close-In Weapon System (CIWS), an automated, rapid-fire gun capable of engaging with anti-ship missiles and other close-in threats.
The Carney has also played a key role in shooting down threats launched by Iran-backed Houthis on commercial shipping vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The warship is one of four other guided-missile destroyers accompanying USS Dwight D. Third-worlders killed three Americans in Jordan over the weekend, and our political establishment is ready to start World War III. Which is more of a national security threat: terrorists 6,000 miles away, or our wide-open border?
People have different ways of evaluating threats, but the most basic test is: Which one kills more U.S. citizens?
Americans killed by Islamic terrorists in Islamic lands so far this year: 3.
Americans killed by third-worlders who entered our country illegally so far this year: 150.
I’m not even counting the 100,000 Americans who die annually of fentanyl and meth delivered by Mexican drug cartels. That’s 270 deaths a day right there.
But overdose deaths, I’m told, can’t be blamed on Mexico because Americans voluntarily took the drugs. I note that this is the only circumstance in which we’re allowed to blame the addict. In every other context, it’s not the druggie’s fault. It’s a “disease"! Just hand us your checkbook so we can fund the addict’s lifestyle and endless stints in rehab.
So we’ll ignore those dead Americans, just like open-borders enthusiasts do.
How about Americans murdered by illegals? Every year, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests nearly 2,000 illegal aliens who’ve committed murder in this country. Last year, for example, ICE caught 1,323 illegals with homicide convictions and 390 with homicide charges pending. (They’re all guilty.)
That’s about 1,700 Americans murdered by illegals every year, or five a day.
Three Americans on a military assignment in Jordan are killed by foreigners during the month of January, and we’re sending in the Marines. More than 150 Americans in America are murdered by foreigners that same month -- and we send in the social workers.

Rose Brown alleges in the lawsuit, filed last month in the U.S. District Court for North Carolina’s Middle District, that some faculty members at the university’s Kenan-Flagler Business School belittled her competence, scolded her after she was sexually assaulted, and encouraged her to underpay Black research participants, all before pushing her out of the school’s Ph.D. program, according to the lawsuit.
“It was torture in a lot of ways. I was ostracized from a faculty standpoint. I was continuously berated with various comments,” Brown, 28, told NBC News. “ It was humiliating. It was disheartening. It broke me down every day. I had panic attacks every time I went to school.”

Brown was accepted into the school’s five-year organizational behavioral program in March 2020 and dismissed from the program in July 2021, the lawsuit alleges.
Along with the university and its board of governors, the suit names professors Shimul Melwani, Sreedhari Desai and Michael Christian. Christian and Desai were Brown’s principal advisers, and Melwani, a coordinator of the Ph.D. program, was responsible for her annual student review, according to the suit.

white professor at an elite university has been nicknamed ‘Professor Karen’ after getting into a battle with a black professor who was against her plans to modify a math curriculum.
Stanford University education professor Jo Boaler, 58, drew opposition from UC Berkeley computer science professor Jelani Nelson for supporting a new math program for schools in California.
The California Math Framework would involve making the curriculum less rigorous in order to boost ‘equity’. Critics say it would ‘question the concept of student giftedness’, according to the Daily Mail.
Nelson claimed that Boaler was charging $5,000 per hour to push the framework theories and that black academics like himself were being ignored. The UC Berkeley professor retweeted a filing indicating that Boaler collected $40,000 total working with a school district in Oxnard.
Nelson also retweeted a user who made Boaler’s address public, though the person later deleted it. Boaler grew upset.
On Tuesday, Nelson shared a screenshot of an email Boaler sent him from the prior week.
The message from Boaler to Nelson stated: ‘As a courtesy to a fellow faculty member I wanted to let you know that the sharing of private details about me on social media yesterday is now being taken up by police and lawyers.
‘I was shocked to see that you are taking part in spreading misinformation and harassing me online.’
Nelson also said that Boaler ‘threatened me with police’ and likened the situation to white women calling cops on black people

‘Public advisory: don’t call the cops on black people for no reason. Black people disagreeing with you on Twitter is not a crime.’

Meanwhile, Nelson told the media: ‘The accusations came immediately after a sentence invoking police and lawyers, a sequence that could only be read in context as a threat against me specifically.’
The conservative Stanford Review then started calling Boaler ‘Professor Karen’.
Boaler has claimed that Nelson was lying about her making $5,000 hourly and continued to deny Nelson’s accusations.
‘I would never even think of threatening a Black man with the police, I know how serious that is in our society and there could be nothing further from my intent,’ she told SFGATE on Thursday.
‘It goes against all of my life work which has been to support and elevate the needs of marginalized students. I have publicly stated that I am sorry for the way it read – that I did not intend it to be threatening.’
Boaler later apologized to Nelson, while noting that his posts lead to her getting ‘threatening, hateful and misogynistic emails and texts’ and death threats to her daughters.

A Russian anti-satellite missile test created "at least" 1,500 large space objects, the US said, worsening the potentially deadly problem of orbiting space junk.
International Space Station (ISS) astronauts and cosmonauts had to shelter in spacecrafts on Monday as the station moved out of the path of an object Insider previously reported.
NASA later confirmed the object came from the satellite breakup caused by the Russian strike.
The fragments "will significantly increase the risk to astronauts and cosmonauts on the ISS," US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said at a press briefing on Monday, Insider previously reported.
