Pastor Paul resumes on John's teachings on discerning truth, error, and the role of the local church. We are to distinguish between true and false teachings, the battle between light and darkness, and the importance of aligning with Scriptural truths. As called out people, we as a local body should be committed to sharing the truth of Jesus Christ and being faithful to His Word and realize that greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.

God's forgiveness is greater than our failures. When we struggle with imperfect obedience, we know that we can be forgiven and we know that our prayers can be answered. The genuinely saved person can live securely in their salvation.
As believers, God has made us free, given us liberty in Christ, so that we could use our freedom to serve each other in love. That's what the body of Christ is all about, and if there's no evidence of that in our lives, if there's no action behind our love, we need to get moving. Because love does. The world will know that we are of God through our love for one another.Scripture: 1 John 3:11-18
As believers, we are to remember who we are in Christ. We are children of the King, God is our Father, and there are indicators - God loves us, He died for us, and He gave us a new nature. These truths changes everything for us. We are to pursue a life of holiness and put on our new self.Scripture: 1 John 3:1-10
In this latest installment of the 1 John series, we are reminded that God wants us to understand the truth and we have to be determined to pursue it. We have to be determined to live a life that is formed by being led by the Spirit and conformed by the Word of God.
There is a spiritual battle going on, and our adversary, the devil, is the one that is in charge of the system, the world. The love of the world can consume us and will never satisfy us. As believers, we are to live holy, set apart, from the world but it's a decision we have to make. True satisfaction and contentment can only be found in the presence of God.Scripture: 1 John 2:12-14
Worldliness is defined as anything in a Christian’s life or mind that causes us to lose the enjoyment of the Father’s love, or our desire to do the will of God. Pastor Paul discusses the three worldly traps - lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life, that we need to be wary of. Do we love God more than the world?
The focus of this latest message on 1 John is on identifying the genuine marks of a Christian's life. We are challenged as believers to reflect on the authenticity of our faith through our obedience, our love for others, and our commitment to walking in the light, rather than in darkness. The scripture encourages us to walk in the overwhelming light of our Heavenly Father. But the truth in doing so requires us to face the darkness of our sins. We’ve got to recognize this inner darkness, confess our sins, and seek the merciful forgiveness our Father offers us so freely through Christ. By confessing our sins and earnestly seeking God's forgiveness and cleansing, we inch closer to God, build genuine bonds of fellowship, and truly live out our faith.Scripture: 1 John 1:5-10
We begin a new teaching series though the book of 1 John. In our first instalment, we focus on joy and how it can be experienced through the presence of Jesus in our own lives. True joy is something that can never be taken away, and it is something that is offered to us daily. The presence of Jesus, fullness of joy.
Last Sunday, we were reminded of the dangers found in compromise. Even when faced with a crisis, trial or difficult season - we must not come to a conclusion of Who God is and what He is doing. Rather the falling away, we should remain true to the truth of God's Word and give Him our full attention. Do you have a wrong conclusion or Who is and what He is doing? Choose surrender. Choose to be still.
The next instalment of "David: The Life of a King" focuses in on repaying evil for good. Forgiveness is something we can see exemplified throughout David's life. Blessing those who persecute us requires self denial - but it is a practice that will result in joy and peace as a result of following Jesus' way.
Last Sunday's message reminded us of the power and protection found in the presence of God. Most often, the pre-requisite to the promises of God are His commands. Our first response should always be to turn to the Word and prayer, and to practice His presence each day.
As we returned to our series on the life of David, we receive an invitation. A call to return to the joy of our salvation. To receive the perfect peace, found only in knowing and trusting the Saviour. Whether you find yourself in a difficult season or feel bitter, angry or alone - there is salvation in the Name of Jesus, and He is the keeper of peace.
As we journey on with David, we come to a story of him receiving great hope and courage in the face of fear. David was facing opposition from his enemies, and he finds himself trapped in a cave. However we see David cry out to God and express radical dependance and trust in Him. David was able to experience God as His Shepherd and faithful Father. No matter what season we may find ourselves in, we must remain steadfast in trusting our Father. Even in our greatest time of need, we can find peace and see that God is doing something beautiful through our brokeness.
The latest instalment of "David - The Life of a King" brings us several Biblical principles on how we can have clarity, peace of mind and make wise decisions in times of crisis.
Last Sunday's message reminded us of the seriousness of sin. God can see our hearts, and we must repent before the consequences of our actions come our way. Rather than trying to figure things out on our own, we must cry out to God and turn to Him. Trust Him, trust His wisdom and lean on His strength. We must forsake our sin, and cling to Christ.
Last Sunday's message challenged us to re-commit ourselves to Jesus. To commit to being wholly-devoted followers of Christ, pursuing truth no matter what season of life. From Jonathan's commitment to David, we are challenged to pattern our own selves in this way. Being committed to following Jesus and being devoted to seeking Him.
Last Sunday's focused in on jealously and how detrimental it can be in our journey of following Jesus. King Saul became jealous of God's favour upon David, and we must guard our own hearts from this mindset. We must uncover the root and cause of our own jealously, and remember that we are all free in Christ.
Last Sunday's message continued our study through the life of David. As we examined his friendship with Jonathan, we are reminded of the importance and power found behind meaningful relationships in the body of Christ. God has designed us to go on this journey of following Him together, and our greatest friendships should be in the local church community.
Last Sunday's message brought us to the familiar story of David confronting Goliath. Despite the great difficulty before him, David displayed courage and declared that the "battle is the Lord's". Jesus absorbed the wrath of God in our place, and with confidence, we can face any challenge in life knowing that God is with us and the battle belongs to Him. We can overcome, because He has overcome. Any victory we experience is for His glory to be revealed in our lives.
Last Sunday's message began a two part study on the familiar, yet transformational story of David and Goliath. The greatest obstacle we may face in this journey of life is unbelief. Whether it's God revealing His will or speaking to us - it is so easy to be held back in fear and doubt. Unbelief can also cause us to cast shame on others, who may be boldly stepping into the will of God. Fear can paralyze us, but we must renew our faith in the One Who goes before us. What is causing fear in your life today? God is on your side, and as He did for David, is with you and will go before you.
Our message last Sunday focused in on David's season of preparation to be the King of Israel. This season was definitely one of trying and difficulty, but God was sovereign through it all and was using every circumstance to grow David and lead him towards His purpose. The application is a question we should ask ourselves. How is God preparing you? What does He want to do and how can we give Him free rein in our hearts to have His way?
The message from last Sunday introduced us to David, and we were reminded that the Father is after our hearts. David may not have appeared as a mighty king should, but God knew His heart and had appointed Him to be the next ruler of Israel. The humble Shepherd boy was greatly used of the Lord and would play a significant part of revealing God’s love and grace to the people. Man always looks on the outside, but the Father searches deeper within. He sees our hearts, and is after them.
Our time in the Word last Sunday was both challenging and thought provoking - but a reminder we desperately need. Saul, the first King of Israel, went down a dangerous path. He lived with a pattern of sin, that eventually lead to destruction. Sin will always take us farther then we want to go. The enemy wants to destroy us, but we must remember that Jesus is stronger. His death on the cross and resurrection has paid the price for all sin, and there is healing and victory available in His sacrifice. We can always return to His love and grace.
Last Sunday we began a brand new sermon series that will go through the life of David. We begin with the Israelites longing for a king. Samuel warned the people of what would become of this, but the people were set in their ways. They wanted what they felt was best for them in the moment. The application is a reminder for us to trust in the Lord no matter where we find ourselves. Our own present desires and agenda may not always align with His, and we should seek to trust what His Word says for us.
Guest speaker Levi Tyrell brings a meaningful challenge on stepping into the "risen life". From Colossians 3, we focus in on seeking first the Kingdom, and setting our affection on things above. Choosing to pursue Jesus and His presence in our lives - this is how God intends for us to live. Following Him and experiencing victory as we seek Him first.
The final message from "King of Heaven, Come" focuses in on Simeon and Anna. Throughout this study we have been focusing in on our response to the arrival of our King. Jesus entering the human story and the Word becoming flesh. His birth ushers in hope, peace and joy - but it is not only available during the Christmas season. Our response to this should be daily, and we should walk in faithfulness and obedience to His voice. We are reminded to surrender to His will and trust His plans. Bringing an offering of worship to Him, with our very lives.
Last Sunday's message was from our Christmas Day Gathering, and we focused on the response of the Shepherds regarding the arrival and birth of King Jesus. The Shepherds received the good news and proclamation of the angels. They were anticipating the arrival of the Messiah, and received the peace and joy of this glorious news. The Shepherds then went to see baby Jesus. This is the Word made flesh, God dwelling among us - and this Christmas season we join in and behold His glory.
For the next instalment of our Christmas series, we see Mary and Elizabeth's response of joy. They responded with joy because of what God was doing through them as they anticipated the arrival and birth of the promised Messiah. The challenge for us is simple - this Holiday season, does the news of His coming, fill you with joy? The same Holy Spirit that caused them to proclaim what God had done is the same One that fills and empowers us today. His coming invites us to partake in His joy and share it with others. We say "King of Heaven, come."
Last Sunday's message began a new Christmas series entitled "King of Heaven, come." In this study, we will be revisiting the Christmas story and pressing into the hope, peace, joy and love that this found in the birth of our Saviour. We begin with the story of Zacharias and Elizabeth. In this first instalment, we are reminded that even in the waiting, the Spirit is working. We ought to be busy doing His work, and believe that nothing is impossible with Him. Busy serving the King, with a heart of hope, expectant for what He will do.
Last Sunday's message brought our EVIDENCE series to a close. We are challenged to stand firm on the truth of God's Word and to be fill our minds with His Word. As we do so, we can walk with confidence, and with one another in boldness. Seeing the Word lived out in our lives will reveal our faith, and it is a foundation that will last.
Last Sunday's message continues on the theme of experiencing victory as an evidence of our faith. Because Jesus has overcome, we can overcome. He has defeated sin and the grave - and His victory also belongs to us in Jesus Name and by the power of His Spirit working through us. Stepping into this realization can drastically change our walk, and we again are reminded to surrender to His Spirit. We are overcomes!
Another way to prove our faith is to experience victory that is found only in Jesus Name. To do this, we are reminded to walk in the Spirit and choose to intentionally surrender to Him. We should also remember Jesus' promise to never let us face any temptation or trial we can't overcome in His strength. Because of Who Jesus is and what He's done, we can and should experience victory here and now.
Our message from last Sunday continued on the topic of serving. The more we become like Christ - the more it will impact how we serve one another. This effect will be seen in our families, communities and local church body. We are reminded that we must return to a place of surrender, and serve for Jesus alone - a heart’s place of service to Him, as King and Lord of our lives. Serving is evidence of our faith.
Last Sunday's message began a two-part study on the topic of serving, and how this can be such a powerful way to reveal our faith. God has given us liberty, and we should seek to use it to serve Him. Not for the approval of men, but only because of our love for Jesus. When our hearts are surrendered in this way, His Spirit can work through us and glorify the Father.
Part 2 of EVIDENCE focuses in on spiritual growth. Our own spiritual formation is such an impactful way to prove our faith and our growth is something that can point others to Jesus. We are challenged to reevaluate the steps we are taking to experience growth.
Last Sunday's message began a brand new series entitled "EVIDENCE". As we move into this new season, we ask a simple, yet meaningful question - "What does a difference-making faith look like? How can I truly show the evidence of my faith?" We will be studying through Hebrews 11 to answer this. Our first instalment lays the foundation for our study ahead as we must ensure we place and prioritize our faith in Christ alone.
Jesus has been revealing Himself as the Good Shepherd, and we have been re-discovering the contentment that is found through a personal relationships with Him. The final instalment of our study focuses in on the commitment He has for us. He will always be with us, faithfully by our side through every season of life. As a result, we should be committed to Him. We are His sheep, and He loves us. His plans are always best.
Last Sunday's instalment of My Shepherd focused in on verse 5 of Psalm 23. Even though the enemy is present, God's presence always overcomes. He is preparing a table for us, and will always supply our needs. We are again brought back to the common theme of finding contentment solely in Jesus as our Shepherd. His presence brings us peace and satisfaction, whether we have little or much.
The next instalment of my Shepherd focuses in on the protection that He brings. Simply acknowledging His holy presence in our lives can result in His peace and comfort surrounding us. We should seek His presence - through meditating on Scripture, prayer, and personal worship to Him. There is protection found, in His presence.
The next instalment of My Shepherd continues in on verse 3 of Psalm 23. This time, we focus in on the phrase "He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His Names sake." We are reminded that the Shepherd has a perfect plan and path for all of us to follow. Regardless of His unique leading, His desire for us is to know Him more, as this is where true fulfilment lies. Overall, the ultimate purpose is to bring glory to His Name, as we find contentment in Him.
The next message of "My Shepherd" focuses in on verse 2 of Psalm 23. We look at the statement "He restoreth my soul" and unravel the desire the Father has for all to return to Him. No matter how far we may stray, the Shepherd is longing for us to return to His fold. Sometimes the path of restoration may not be what we expect, but His plans are always carried out in love and the Shepherd knows what is best for His sheep.

As we go into verse 2 of Psalm 23, we continue on the theme of finding contentment in the person of Jesus. The presence of the Shepherd offers rest, and in this place is freedom from fear, conflict and hunger. His presence leads us into green pastures and still waters, so we can find true rest in Him alone.
Our second instalment of "MY SHEPHERD" focuses in on the second phrase of Psalm 23:1 - I shall not want. The key to understanding this next declaration, is in surrendering your will, to the Shepherd's will. In letting Him take the lead and resting in His perfect care. Our agenda doesn't always line up with His, but God makes no mistakes. He cares for us, and because of that, we can find true contentment in Him

Last Sunday, we began a meaningful new sermon series from Psalm 23. Our first message lay the foundation for the weeks ahead and we focused in on a familiar verse with a powerful truth. "The Lord is my Shepherd." This declaration relays a total dependancy on Him - as our Shepherd, Guide and Lord over our lives. He is a personal God and wants to be Your shepherd. As a result of His ownership and our surrender to Him, we can follow Him boldly, resting confidently in His care.

Our final time of teaching from 1 Peter ends our series with a word of hope. We are reminded that we exist to bring God glory and should seek to glorify Him in all of our actions. He is full of grace, and is pouring this grace on us even when we don't see it. As we journey on with Jesus, we are challenged to be more aware of His grace, and seek to bring Him the glory due unto His Name.
Our message last Sunday continued on the path of discovering Spiritual Attitudes essential to knowing Jesus more. We now focus in on the reality of the spiritual warfare we are all in. We should seek to always be on guard, as the enemy is seeking to devour. Peter reminds us that we already have the victory in Jesus Name, and this battle has already been won. We should posture ourselves in this way as we remain steadfast in the work of the Lord.
Our message last Sunday was a great continuation from the week before. This time, we focus on the subject of our spiritual attitudes and the spirit of submission we should have towards those in spiritual leadership. We also deeply looked at humility, and how it leads to a spirit of total dependance on the Lord. Humility is how we should come before the Lord, and it is a beautiful and scriptural way to pursue Jesus.
The next instalment of Strangers and Pilgrims focuses on the responsibilities found in Spiritual Leadership. To have the role of a pastor, or leader in ministry is truly a privilege, but not one to be taken lightly. God's unique call into these roles does carry weight and those in spiritual leadership should seek to honour the Lord in their deed and conduct through their ministry. Our message visits some of these truths in 1 Pete, and gives all of us things to consider should God call any of us in this direction.
As we continue our study through 1 Peter, our message last Sunday reminded us of how to respond in seasons of trials. Trials are apart of our journey, and we will all face them as we follow the Lord. God, in His sovereignty, allows us to go through difficult seasons. He has a special purpose and plan for everything we might face. We must look for the beauty within, rejoice in our circumstances, and seek to know how God wants us to draw closer to Him through it.
Like our message last Sunday, we established the truth that Jesus is coming again, and how in these last days we must pattern our lives in a way that will point others to Him. Two ways we can do this, is by loving others and showing hospitality. Hospitality is not about entertaining, but by sharing what we have. It is having the mind of Christ, and loving others as He has loved us.
The past couple messages in our series have all had a common theme - renewing our minds through the Word and by the Spirit. This will result in genuine transformation, which is God's desire for all His children. We rediscovered this truth in light of the thought that Jesus is coming again. We must always be ready for His return, as it could happen anytime! We can do this by living a life that is in full surrender to the Spirit. This will allow us to step into His will as we know Him more.
As we return to our study in 1 Peter, our next message focuses in on the mind of Christ. We can have the mind of Christ through renewing our minds daily by the Holy Spirit and in God's Word. Sanctification is a life long process of following Jesus and being transformed daily to become more like Him. We must pursue holiness and grow in our knowledge of Jesus. It is then when we can truly step into His will and experience the full life He intends for us.
We had an amazing Easter Sunday Celebration, and Pastor Paul brought a message surrounding the many proofs of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We also focused in on experiencing the power of the resurrection in new ways, and truly living in the victory it brings every day. He is risen, indeed.
The message last Sunday brought us a reminder to hold onto as we are moving into the Easter season. As we continued in 1 Peter, we study the triumph and victory found in Christ's suffering. Our victory is found in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is exalted over all, and this is what we should proclaim in our words and through our lives. Through His suffering, we have victory.
The next instalment of Strangers & Pilgrims revisits the reality that we will all face persecution in our journey of following Jesus. However as we last heard, we can face life boldly. To do so, we must make Jesus the central focus of our lives. When Christ is magnified, our difficulties will become so much smaller. As a result, the Spirit will give us opportunities to share our faith as we magnify Christ.
Last Sunday we heard a challenge on the reality of persecution. This world is not our home, and as we follow Jesus we will indeed face opposition. Despite this truth we must remember we have God's Word, and His Spirit to illuminate our steps. He has never forsaken us and the gates of hell won't prevail against His church. We are encouraged to despite persecution, continue on faithfully for the Lord.
Last Sunday's time of Bible teaching continues our helpful study through 1 Peter. We are brought a powerful challenge once again on the theme of seeking peace and unity amongst our brothers and sisters in Christ. The diversity found in the Kingdom of God is a beautiful thing, and we are called to love each other and serve together with our unique gifts. We are also reminded to "turn the other cheek" - and to repay evil, with good. These are more principles we must live by in order to find and follow Jesus.
Last Sunday's time in the Word once again touches on the theme of submission. Submission is a Biblical principle, and we now focus in on God's model for this in the home. It must be practiced between a husband and wife, so that they can together submit to God. Living a life patterned after Biblical submission is a way that God can use us to reach others and further the Gospel. In order to truly submit to God, we must die to ourselves.
Last Sunday's message picks up in chapter 2 of 1 Peter. We continue on in the theme of submission to the God-given authority in our lives. We are reminded that in whatever setting or situation, God has placed authority there for a reason. We must also remember the unique and powerful impact our Godly testimony can have for the gospel. Whether in the work place or at home - submission is a Biblical principle we must receive.
Last Sunday's teaching was a deep challenge for all of us to consider. As we continue chapter 2, we receive a reminder to submit to those who God has placed over us in authority. 1 Peter gives us a Biblical road map on how we can live impactful lives, and submitting to our God-given authority is a way to show to others that we are Christ's disciples.
Our message last Sunday continues our study through 1 Peter. We receive a motivating reminder on the impact we should have on our journey of faith and following Jesus. We are strangers and pilgrims in this world passing through, but we must not pass through unnoticed. To make a lasting impact for the gospel, we must remember our position in Christ. We must also remember our calling, to reveal His light and glory through every aspect of our lives.
Our message last Sunday kicked off chapter 2 of 1 Peter with a hopeful reminder. God is building His spiritual kingdom through Bible-believing local churches. As we minister and serve His will, He is establishing this through us. We are reminded that as His church, we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a peculiar people. We are called out of darkness and into His marvellous light. He is for us, and will accomplish His perfect will in each of our lives.
Last Sunday we returned to our study through 1 Peter. As we continue on in chapter 1, we now focus in on the pathway to spiritual transformation. We must cast off the world, and instead crave the Word. Only God's Word and being filled with His Spirit can allow us to move in this direction and be sanctified every day.
Our Vision Sunday message was a needed challenge to set the tone for the year ahead. We receive a word from Hebrews on the need for spiritual maturity. Spiritual growth is so essential for us, and this year will be one for us to pursue it together. The pursuit of spiritual maturity is the simplest and best way to live the Christian life.
Our first message of the new year challenges us to walk in the Light of Jesus - to walk in Christian fellowship and unity. To seek His face, and enjoy His presence. To walk in this way together is how we are meant to live. To be in fellowship with God and to be right with Him is a place of blessing and joy. As we expect great things over this upcoming year, we must walk in this way. There are unique blessings and joy that only come from walking in fellowship with God, and this is something we must experience together.
The conclusion to our Christmas series focuses in on our response to the gift of Jesus. How can we effectively share the gift with others if we ourselves do not experience the joy it offers? The arrival of Jesus brings true peace with God and our response to it should be praise. We must let this renew the joy of our salvation! May we respond by joyfully sharing the light of Jesus with the world.
Part 2 of our Christmas series brings us to the arrival of our Saviour. As we look at the Nativity story, it may seem at times that things were out of control. However, our message reminds us that everything was according to God's divine plan for the arrival of Jesus. Anything out of our control, is in God's hands. We are once again reminded of Mary's response to the words given to her. A response of surrender to God's will, and willingness for Him to have full control.
The first message of our Christmas series focuses in on the announcement of the birth of Christ. Christmas is a time to reflect on the hope, joy, and peace that only Jesus can bring, and His birth truly ushered this to mankind. The angel's announcement to Mary was specular and supernatural. Mary's response was one of surrender. We see how these opening events pave the way for the Word being made flesh, and entering our world.
The next instalment in our study of 1 Peter reminds of our calling to live with a reverent fear of God. He is our Father, an impartial Judge, and has redeemed us. The fear of God is something we must hold in our hearts and is a way to honour and live in surrender to Him. We are also reminded to deeply love others, with a fervent and pure heart.

The next instalment of "Strangers & Pilgrims" focuses in on pursuing holiness. To pursue holiness is to pursue Jesus. We must walk in obedience, and strive to be more like Him in every aspect of life. We are strangers and pilgrims in this world - we are in the world, but not of it. Our message reminds of the call every believer has on their life - to become more like Jesus through obedience to His Word.
As we continue our study in 1 Peter, we receive a message on the joy of our salvation. Salvation is a beautiful and eternal gift from God. It was foretold by the prophets, and fulfilled by the Person of Jesus Christ. As we look at 1 Peter 1:8-11, we are reminded of some of these specific joys that are ours to claim. Salvation is something we must receive, be reminded of, and proclaim to the world.

Last Sunday's message was an intro to our upcoming Missions Emphasis Weekend. From Matthew 28:19-20, we focus in on the heart of God's Church - His church sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world. From our message we are reminded of God's power, purpose, and presence, that is always with us. This is what will enable us to fulfil His mission in our everyday lives.

Part 3 of our study in 1 Peter focuses in on God's purpose for trials. Trials purge us, and are permitted by the Father to mold us into His image. Many times God will also leave a trial in our life, which results in a deeper trust and knowledge of Who He is. In seasons of trials, we must continue to trust and remain sensitive to the work He wants to accomplish through it. Trials are apart of our journey of faith, and God will always work these situations for His good and glory.
Part 2 of our study in 1 Peter touched on the powerful truth of how there is Living Hope found in the person of Jesus. This Hope offers us an assurance of God's unending power and that our faith can always be placed in Him.

Last Sunday's message began a brand new teaching series through the Epistle of 1 Peter entitled "Strangers and Pilgrims". The first instalment sets the stage for the uniqueness of the book and for what we will learn throughout our study.
Last Sunday's message was one that challenged our community to be all in. From Luke 5, we see the story of how Jesus commanded his Disciples to whole-heartedly follow Him. As our church begins this new chapter, we celebrate all God has done and unite our hearts in moving forward by faith. Surrendering whole-heartedly does require sacrifice, but when we choose to follow Jesus first, His blessings poor out and are better then we could ever dream. God opens doors for a greater purpose than we see right now, and we must be all in and go "into the deep.
There is nothing sweeter than unity in the body of Christ. Last Sunday's message reminded us of the many blessings found in Christian fellowship. We are challenged to bear the Fruits of the Spirit through our relationships and to show grace to each-other exactly where we find ourselves today. God designed us to do life together, and we can experience his blessings through seeking unity in the body and experiencing Godly friendships.
Our message last Sunday was titled "The Future is Friendly", and gave use beautiful and challenging reminder - If I trust God with my future, I can focus on living for Him today. From Abraham's life, we are reminded that we can claim and believe God's Word over our future. By resting in what He says in His Word, we can focus on glorifying and being faithful to Him in the now. All around, we are given Biblical principles for trusting God regardless of what it seems the future holds.
Part 2 of Ground Level continues on the theme of faith and obedience coming together. In this message, we study on what God requires from His people. God commands us to fear Him, walk in "all" His ways, love Him, serve Him, and simply obey His commandments.

Todays message kicks off a brand new mini-series titled “Ground Level” where we will be focusing in on Biblical truths on how faith and obedience meet and must coexist. Out first message of the series confirms to use that a relationship with God begins by faith, but is grown through obedience. We look at Micah 6:8 and summarize God’s three commands to “do justly”, “love mercy” and “walk humbly.”

As we wrapped up our "Church Defined" series, we were challenged on the simple truth of serving the church. God has uniquely gifted each and every one of us! No matter what season of life we find ourselves in - there is something we can all do to serve through the local church. From our study, we were challenged to discover these gifts God has given, and to seek out how we can put them to use here and now. All around, we are reminded that we must have a passion for the church and make it a priority. But we also must play our part in helping to build it, and as a result see God glorified through our service to Him.
Our message last week was a challenge in our passion for the local church. We're reminded that we should make the church an overarching priority in our own lives. As the body, there is a desperate need for us to have connection and community with other believers and gather together to worship. With other points brought to light in regards to this, part 3 of “Church Defined” moves us to search our hearts - to determine whether we are truly seeking first “the kingdom of God.” God loves the church, and we must have a passion for it.
Part 2 of Church Defined focused in on the purpose of the church. Local called-out assemblies are to uphold and proclaim the truth of God's Word. As the body, we are to live out the truth, which will result in God's glory being revealed through our lives.
Our message this week begins a brand new collection of sermons that will study God's purpose and plan for the local church. Jesus is and must be the head of His church. He is the One Who defines it, and will continue to build it through every season. He deeply loves His church, as it is His vehicle today to make disciples and share the Gospel. We are challenged to love the church also, and to ensure we are striving to build it with the right motives and heart.
Our next instalment in "I AM" covers Jesus' statement "I AM the True Vine." From our study we are challenged to understand that in order to truly know Jesus, we must apply His truth into our lives. God's commitment to our fruit-bearing, is greater then your commitment to comfort. Are we fruit-bearing Christians, and is there evidence of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives?

The next "I AM" in our study declares Jesus as the Resurrection and the Life. In John 11, we see the miraculous story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. From our message, we are reminded that there is no situation in which God's glory cannot be revealed. We are also challenged to not let our emotions shape what is true, but rather the truth of God's Word shape our emotions. Our hope is placed in the Person of Jesus, Who holds the power of resurrection and offers eternal life.

The next "I AM" of Jesus is "The Good Shepherd". From John 10, we reveal some very encouraging truths - the Good Shepherd indeed knows His sheep and has given His life for them. We are the sheep and He is the Shepherd. This can fill us with hope, peace, and confidence for the journey ahead as we follow our Shepherd's leading in every season of life. We are also reminded that Jesus died not only for our sins, but to bring ultimate glory to the Father.

The next declarative statement given by Jesus is "I AM the Door". He is the Door to eternal security and a truly abundant life here and now. From John 10, we continue our study and find encouragement in the truth that Jesus came to give us life and freedom found only in Him.

For our second instalment in "I AM", we see Jesus declare that He is the Light of the world. From this declarative statement, we are encouraged and challenged. We too must bear this light and let it shine to others. We are in the world, but not of it! Jesus is the Light in the darkness and the only hope for this present world!

We had such a special time in the Word last Sunday beginning a brand new collection of sermons in the Gospel of John. In our new series titled “I AM”, we will be seeing how these descriptive declarations made by Jesus reveal His character, and how He and the Father are truly one! Our first “I AM” in John 6:35 is the Bread of Life, and this declares His sufficiency and ultimate satisfaction for the human soul.

As we continue on in chapter 3 of Revelation, we now see the church of Laodicea. This church was called "lukewarm" and in desperate need of revival and repentance. They had a deep rooted problem, and were in need of a loving correction. The challenge and application for us today is once again, an examination of our own heart. The Holy Spirit is knocking at the door of our own hearts as we must forsake a "lukewarm" approach to our relationship with Jesus. There is an eternal invitation for repentance, and to allow the fire in our hearts burn again in service to Him.

In our study through Revelation we now come to the church of Philadelphia, which was a faithful church. This church had held fast to sound doctrine and was faithful to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples. We see that Jesus took notice of this, gave them hope and reminded them of His promise to come again. It is so encouraging to study this church as they are an amazing example of the church we are called to be today. Looking to God's Word can also provide us hope and peace, as we continue on in our mission to help others find and follow Jesus.

The next chapter of our study through Revelation brings us to the church of Sardis. This church was spiritually "dead" and a warning was given to them in this regard. No church is exempt from entering this state - however, there is always hope for spiritual renewal! The challenge from Sardis is this - are you spiritually dead? Are you in need of a renewal in your heart? We must ask the Holy Spirit to examine our hearts, and through His power reveal that underneath our outward expression is a genuine faith. God is moving here and now, and we as His people have an opportunity to join in what He is doing! He is calling us to repentance!
Scripture: Revelation 3:1-6
Last Sunday we continued our study in Revelation by looking at the church of Thyatira - this was a church deeply rooted in false teaching and many other ungodly practices. From studying this church, we again receive a strong reminder on our mission to uphold sound doctrine, and that there is no place for ungodliness in the church. But this same principle can and must be applied to our own lives! We are the temple of the Holy Ghost, and many times we can tolerate practices and belief systems that have no place in the life of a believer. We must remember that God calls us to repentance, and there is always unending grace and mercy offered to those who come in need.
As we continue our study through the book of Revelation, we heard a strong challenge from the church of Pergamos. This was a church that had allowed all sorts of false teachings, doctrines and horrific practices to infiltrate their church. Whilst more subtle, this can sadly be the case today for local bodies who don't consistently teach the foundational truths of God's Word. As the church and bride of Christ, it is our mission to uphold sound doctrine and proclaim the true Gospel of Jesus. We must guard our own hearts from ungodly influences, and allow the Holy Spirit to enlighten us to the truth of His Word. We can know God will continue to build His church here and now, and with that knowledge, continue to proclaim and live out the Gospel.
Scripture Revelation 2:12-17
Our Easter Online celebration was a phenomenal time. Pastor Paul brought an encouraging message on experiencing the hope found in resurrection. Because of the resurrection, we no longer need to fear. When we receive Him, we die to our old selves and are raised to life with Him and in Him! But this hope also gives us a mandate - a commission to share this same living hope with those in need. The gospel is for everyone, and we all must share it with the world!
Last Sunday we continued in Revelation chapter 2 and studied the church of Smyrna. Smyrna was a persecuted church, but not abandoned. As the church today, persecution is indeed part of the christian life. But as God's people, we can confidently know He will never abandon us. His promises of provision and protection reign true today, and we can know His gospel message will continue to spread here and now. As we fulfill our God given purpose, we too will be persecuted - but never abandoned. We must be faithful in being the church He has called us to be.

Part 2 of our Revelation series challenged us to return to our "First Love". We mustn't let discouragement cause us to loose our passion and commitment for the ministry and furthering of the Gospel. We should ask the Holy Spirit to search our hearts, and reveal what must be removed. Regardless of the season, we are the church - and our mission and purpose remains true.

Last Sunday, we began a brand new series that will go through the book of Revelation. Our first message solidified that understanding the truth of this unique book can give us a confidence and purpose as we follow Jesus even through uncertain times. The book of Revelation is God's future plans revealed to us!

Last Sunday, Pastor Paul brought a message full of hope and encouragement. This season we all face has definitely been discouraging in many ways, but from the life of Elijah we receive God's answer to this. We must submit to His wisdom and sovereignty, remember His love and grace which is always over our lives, and confront the lies we believe. We must always remember God's promises and know that in every season, He is with us and faithful. We can choose to trust Him and receive His love, grace, and peace.
Last Sunday's message closed off our Renew series! To end off our study, we were again reminded to find renewal through repaying evil with good. This is a way of life that will set us apart from all others. Because of who we are in Christ and what He has done for us, it is possible to live in this way. This is a reality of the Christian life and essential to experiencing the full life God has for us. Forgiveness is a key part of Christian behaviour, and living in this way will advance God's kingdom and the gospel here and now!

Our message from last Sunday continued focusing in on finding renewal through serving others! We were challenged in the command to "love your enemies" and repay evil with good. We also were reminded to identify with those in need, and to "weep with those who weep". Like Jesus, we need to serve others by rejoicing with them in victory and weeping with them in times of trial. All around, our message points us again to unity within the church and truly loving others as Jesus loves us. By showing this love even to those who may not seem to deserve it, we can find renewal that only comes through serving Jesus.

Our message last week focused in on finding renewal through serving others. As we continue to look at Roman's 12, we're reminded that we are called to love one another. As we saw last week, we all play a special part in the body of Christ, and so we must be attentive to know the needs of other! This is how we can live out the grace of God and be a light even in this difficult season. You may have a special way to encourage and strengthen someone that no one else could! The world will know we are Jesus' disciples by our love, and this love is for everyone.

As we continue our Renew series, we are reminded of the spiritual gifts God gives us and challenged to use them in our service to Him. If we are part of the body of Christ, we have purpose, destiny and a part to play in advancing the Gospel. Our gifts are given to us to glorify God and shine His light into others. We must have a humble heart, strive for unity in the body of Christ, and exercise our spiritual gifts in service to Him. This is how we can live a fulfilled and abundant life in Jesus.

Week 2 of our new series continues our study in Romans 12. We now focus in on the need for our lives to be transformed by the Gospel and through the Holy Spirit. We are challenged to look at what we consume into our hearts daily, and if it is causing us to become more like Jesus or fill our minds with a worldly influence opposed to His Word. The message from last Sunday is a strong challenge once again, reminding us to surrender to His Spirit, and let our minds be renewed through Jesus to be transformed into His image.

The first message of 2021 kicks off our new series, Renew. We begin our study together in Romans 12, and the power found in renewing our hearts and minds through Jesus and His Word. Often times, renewal requires a removal of something. We must surrender every part of our lives to Jesus, and allow His peace and Word to rule in our hearts.

Last Sunday was the final message of our Christmas series! In the past weeks we have seen why Jesus came and Who He is - now we see what He confirms to us. His coming gives a hope and a perfect peace that nothing else could ever give us. He came to pay the penalty for the sins of mankind, and offer His gift of love. Because of Who He is, we can confidently face the future, knowing His love and faithfulness will never leave us.
Part 2 of Behold was a powerful reminder of Who Jesus is. In the midst of chaos, remembering Who Jesus is brings perfect peace and comfort to our hearts. As followers of Jesus, the story of His birth reminds us of His never-ending love and the redemptive power of the Gospel.
Our sermon last Sunday kicks off our 3-week Christmas series for this Advent season! Together we focus in on the miracle and significance of the virgin birth of Christ. Jesus is God made flesh, and this amazing truth of His birth reminds us of His incomparable love for us and why He came.
As Church on the Move comes to a close, we receive a final, powerful challenge. Chapter 28 of Acts ends on an unresolved note - and this is because the story continues today! We are the "church on the move", and we are continuing the Book of Acts. Are we willing to write the next chapter? Are we purposed to let our lives shine the light of the Gospel, and remain faithful to be the church we are called to be? As the church, we need to let our lives show the transformative power of the Gospel. No matter the season we face, God is with us and for us. We must be bold, and continue to follow and trust our God! You are the "Church on the Move"!

As we near the end of "Church on the Move", we are reminded of the power found in togetherness. As the church, there are so many blessings found in friendship with other believers. Community and encouraging one another has been a common theme in our journey, and in Acts 28 we are reminded of this yet again in a new light. We are the church, and we are not meant to do this life alone. Encouragement and friendship is essential to live out our God given purpose, and essential for a child of the King.

Our message from last Sunday continues the story of Paul and the storm. God's presence and peace was with Paul and He faithfully delivered the whole crew. They ended up on the Island of Malta and here we see Paul work through some uncertain circumstances. Paul had some special opportunities here to share the Gospel, and make the name of Jesus known in this unfamiliar place. As we continue Church on the Move, we are reminded to not be "weary of well-doing." We must be faithful to God whether in a storm, or on safe land. No matter the season we find ourselves in, we must remain alert for the enemy's attack, and know God is always with us.

Our recent message from Church On the Move gives us hope and faith. In Acts 27, we have the familiar story of Paul in the storm with the Roman fleet. Everyone was full of despair and fear in the midst of this chaos, but Paul was of faith. Paul knew Who He belonged to and had God's promises, presence and purpose. We also have a God given purpose over our lives, and His promises are ours to claim. As the church very much on the move today, we should always remember these truths in troubling times. We have His presence, promise and purpose.

Our message last Sunday focuses in on when Paul stands before Agrippa in Acts 26. We are reminded once again of the power of the Gospel and how we are commissioned to share it with those in need. The church is God's primary avenue of revealing this to the world, and we are challenged to have a renewed passion and focus on reaching those who are lost.

Church on the Move continued as we see the Apostle Paul facing an incredibly difficult situation. As a result of continuing to faithfully preach the Gospel, 40 men had sworn an oath to kill him. With other events conspiring against him, Paul was truly in a difficult season. However, our message reminds us that difficult situations reveal God's control and our own faith. From these scenarios, we see another common theme from our series: God is always in control! As His church, we are called to be a witness and share the Gospel. In doing so we will face some opposition, but in those moments we only need to trust, and watch God faithfully move on our behalf.
We loved having guest speaker Pastor Eric Leveille bring the Word at our Missions Emphasis Sunday. We heard a powerful message on suffering for Jesus Christ. At times it is essential to suffer, in order for others to hear the Gospel message. Jesus suffered because His love was infinitely greater than His suffering. Any suffering we face for the cause of Christ could never compare with what Jesus went through to save us from all our sins. As His followers, we must be willing to suffer for Him and with Him, so that others can receive the same gift as we have.

God truly had an amazing plan for the Apostle Paul's life, and used Him in an unexplainable way. Our message last Sunday reminds us of the special purpose and plan He also has for us. Until the work of God is done in our lives, we have no reason to fear. God is always in control of our world, and our times are in his hands. He has a special purpose and will for our lives, and as His church, we can confidently know every trial and test is part of the story He is writing in our lives. The Father has work for us to do, and we can know He will finish what He has began. As we faithfully follow Jesus, we will see God miraculously work on our behalf - because He loves us, cares for us, and is with us. We just need to trust, and follow Him.

Church on the Move continued last Sunday with simple, yet powerful truths from Acts 21. We must never underestimate the power of our faith in someone else's life. Our own faith can also move others to following Jesus. It is by our faith that we also follow God's will for our life - and following His will leads to fulfillment and peace that nothing in this world could ever replace.

Church on the Move continues on with a Word centred on following the will of God. From Acts 21, we see that God's will for our lives can be known. Being in His will does not always mean life will be easy, but it does mean that we will experience His promises, blessings, and the great things He wants to do through us. Our message gives us powerful truths on how to discover God's will, and pursue it in our lives.

We heard a powerful and unique reminder from the Word last Sunday. Our message reminded us of the responsibility and importance for the pastoral role and leadership God gives in the church. The pastor is a shepherd, and must be so sensitive and listen for the Spirit of God to give discernment in leading the flock. We also see the need to pray for our church leadership, and the blessings that our found in encouraging the man of God.

Our message last Sunday comes from our 6 Year Celebration. Pastor Paul brought a powerful challenge for us to embrace from Acts 20 as we kick off a new season. We are reminded that we exist to glorify and serve Jesus Christ with a passion! We must boldly prioritize the Gospel in all we do, and persevere in faith towards the great things God has in store! When we look back we can marvel at God's faithfulness and goodness. However, we must always look ahead in faith and anticipate what He will do next. Our message challenges us to persevere full of faith for the future, in anticipation for what God has in store!

As we continue to follow the early church, we come to the story of Eutychus. We are once again reminded of the necessity in encouraging one another and the power found through serving God together! We are also reminded of the importance in gathering for worship and how we can be prepared for meeting together and with God. All in all, our message last Sunday once again shows us that we as the church must be unified in sharing and living out the Gospel through encouragement!

We received a powerful Word from our message last Sunday. Continuing on the theme of the Gospel's transformational power, we see its results on display. Gospel transformation will bring persecution, but God's constant protection is promised! God is far more in control and powerful than any opposition we can face in this life. To advance the Kingdom of God is to preach the Gospel and watch God work on its behalf! We are the church of Jesus Christ and are a representation of the power of the Gospel. We must continue to magnify Christ with our voices and life, and watch the transformational power of the Gospel work in those around us.
Scripture: Acts 19
Ephesus was a city deeply rooted in idolatry and wickedness. However, Paul body preached the Gospel as the Spirit lead him. The people of Ephesus realized many things that were drastically holding them back in bondage. It is amazing to see the transformation of Ephesus as God once again works through the power of the gospel. Many times in order to move forward in our own walk with God, we must remove certain things so that His Word can truly prevail in our lives. Our message reminds us that we must allow the Gospel to continually transform us and take root in our own hearts. We must be carriers of its transforming truth and remove barriers in our own lives - so that we as the church can allow others to experience this same power.

Our message from last Sunday pointed us back to the importance of discipleship and investing into the lives of others! In Acts 18, we see the importance of redeeming the time God has given us. We must show grace to one another in different area never underestimate the power of influence in someone else’s life. God uses His people to reach others in need, and your story or testimony could be exactly what someone needs to take a step of faith or growth in their walk with God. We need to be like Aquilla, Priscilla, and Apollos - being willing to grow and allow our lives to disciple others and point them to a greater knowledge of God.

Encouragement is such an essential aspect in our walk with God. As we continued CHURCH ON THE MOVE last Sunday, Acts 18 showed us the timely encouragement Paul received to continue on during a difficult season. True encouragement comes from fellow believers and above all, from Jesus! The words of encouragement He speaks reminds us to not fear, know He is with us, and grasp that the work we do for Him is never in vain. As followers of Jesus, we must allow Him and others to encourage us, and encourage others the same.
Pastor Josh Towns brought the Word last Sunday. Many times in life, we can question as to why it seems that the wicked prosper and the righteous face many trials. But from Psalm 7, we see a powerful reminder of how God has a special plan and purpose for your life. Every trial we face is so Christ may receive glory and honour! Rather then facing life with doubt and anger, we should respond with praise and know God's purpose is revealed through every circumstance we encounter!

Our message last Sunday continues in Acts 17. From the previous week, we saw how Paul's heart was stirred by what he saw. But now, he boldly declares the Gospel. We see Paul declare that God is the Creator, the Sustainer, and in control of all things. But he also declared to the people that this all-powerful God is knowable, and wanted to have a real relationship with them. This is the beauty of the Gospel and why God sent Jesus. His gift of love and forgiveness will overcome all our sin and is key to having this relationship with Him! The application for us is simple: the gospel must be lived out and shared with those around us each day. Whether in word or deed, this is how we the church must reach others today!
Scripture: Acts 17
From Acts 17, we see Paul in the city of Athens. However, his heart was strongly stirred by the culture that had fully embraced idolatry. It is clear that our world today holds many values and ideals strongly opposed to the Word of God. It is so important that we look at our own hearts and evaluate how we view the world around us. We are to be in the world, but not of it! As followers of Jesus, God has placed us where we are for a reason. We must fulfil our God given purpose, and allow our hearts to be stirred by what we see. The Gospel is what will change those around us, and our mission is to share that with those in need. This is our identity and who we are in Jesus.

Church on the Move continued with a timely reminder for us from Acts 17. Learning to study the Word of God is absolutely essential to sharing our faith. In this current day, there is much deception about the truth of the Gospel and Who Jesus is. We need to be like Paul, and firmly know in our hearts what God’s Word says about His Son. We must be bold in our witness and allow God to place a desire in our hearts for the truth His Word.

In our message last Sunday, we see the power of the Gospel transform lives throughout Philippi. From saving a wealthy business woman, freeing a demon-possessed girl, and opening the eyes of a Roman jailer: in Acts 16, we see the Gospel give life and healing to those in need. The Gospel must always be at the centre of everything we do, and His love is how others will know we are His disciples.

Church on the Move continued last Sunday with a powerful truth for us all! From Acts 16, we are reminded that things do not always go exactly as we plan. If we stay surrendered to Him, God will always guide us. This could be through closed doors, circumstances we face, and many times though His Word! But wherever He may lead, He promises to be with us. We can firmly trust that the Father's way is best. Confidently following the will of God will open doors and opportunity we never could’ve imagined. This is the life God has designed for us to experience in pursuing Him!

Last Sunday, we heard a powerful message on grace. We are saved by grace, and the abundant christian life is experienced through growing in that grace. Because of God's amazing grace, we shouldn't place our non-biblical preferences on others, nor should we allow our liberty in Christ to cause others to stumble or create division. Embracing God's grace will always unify and cause others to grow in their knowledge of Christ. From Acts 15, we learn that God's grace must be defended, demonstrated and declared in our lives. Jesus plus nothing, equals everything!

As we dive back into "Church on the Move", we get a powerful challenge from Acts 14! Despite Paul and Barnabas facing persecution, together they stayed determined and made a declaration to follow their Lord. They were constantly knocked down from different situations, but through the Holy Spirit, they continued on with hearts full of joy. God wants to see faithfulness and determination in our own hearts. No matter what we face, we need to stay strong, take courage, and live for Him.

As we continue moving through the Book of Acts, we are reminded of the reality of a spiritual battle we face everyday. As the early church grew and fulfilled the great commission, the enemy retaliated. But the church of Antioch fervently sought the Lord during these times and trusted God's leading in every situation. We are the church today and in different ways the enemy sends opposition to us. But as God's children we need to let Him strengthen us. Like the church in Antioch, we should intentionally seek God's leading and claim the victory that He has already given. We must be faithful, courageous and let Him lead us, rather then fight in our own strength. From Acts 13, we receive this powerful and encouraging reminder of the victory we must proclaim through Jesus Christ!

Last Sunday's message brings hope in the midst of any uncertainty we face. In Acts 12, we see Peter locked up in prison. He is moments away from his possible death - but rather than breaking out in fear, he sleeps. How could Peter possibly respond this way in such a crisis? From this passage we see the power of assuming God's presence even in the midst of chaos. When we choose to respond this way, God is able to work through us and mightily display His power. No matter what we face, His presence will always give us peace.
Scripture: Acts 12
As we continue our journey in the Book of Acts, we see God begin to show His transforming power through the early church. In Acts 11, we see this is because the church of Antioch had a heart of evangelism, discipleship, and genuine compassion for others. They were unified together in their passion for the gospel, and as a result their city was tremendously impacted for the cause of Christ.
Acts 11:19-30
Our message from Easter Online was a powerful declaration of the living hope we have in the resurrection of Jesus Christ! This hope turns our tears to joy, fears to courage, and doubts to belief. With this hope, we can boldly share the gospel and Christ's love with those around us! This is the hope for eternity we as believers have - because our Saviour is alive.
Scripture: John 20
Our message from last Sunday firmly reminds us of the victory we have through Jesus Christ. We are certainly in a battle, but that battle belongs to the Lord. This is a battle He has already won for all eternity! From Ephesians 6, we see that in order to receive this God given victory, we must day to day put on the armour of God.

Human expectation will always create doubt. But heavenly experiences create an unwavering confidence rooted in the Word of God! Our past experiences with God should determine our expectations of what He can and will do. From Luke 7, Pastor Paul brought this encouraging blueprint to find victory over doubt.

We are truly in the midst of a different season, but our message today reminds of the victory we already have in Jesus Name. In our times of worry, the Father offers His peace. God wants His people to have faith and to believe His unchanging Word. His peace and promises will always bring worry to it's knees. To have this victory, we must walk by faith, trust the Father, and always put Him first.

Our message last Sunday was a timely Word of encouragement. In seasons of desperation, we the church are called to edify and encourage - in times of worry and anxiety, Jesus offers His rest. The Spirit is what gives us peace and a right response to any situation we face. All in all, we are reminded to not fear, but choose to trust His Word no matter what.
Scripture: Acts 9
We heard an encouraging and powerful message from last Sunday's message. Acts 9 gives us the familiar story of the Apostle Paul's conversion. Paul called himself the "chief of sinners", and yet God used him in an unexplainable way. Comparing our inadequacy to Paul's truly eliminates any doubts of God's ability to use us. The Father glories in our weakness and wants to turn our brokenness to something beautiful. Once again, we are reminded that God wants all of His children to serve Him, and is only looking for a surrendered heart to display His power through.

As we return to our study in Acts, we have the familiar story of the Ethiopian Eunich. The Spirit of God spoke to Philip, and with a heart of surrender, he responded. Like Philip, His Spirit also prompts us. As His church, we must have a surrenederd heart and be a willing servant. God's love is for everyone, and we need to obey when He is calling us to share it.

Last Sunday, we were privileged to have Tobi England, from the faculty of West Coast Baptist College, bring the Word! We received a very helpful message accurately showing how scripture has been historically and archaeologically preserved. God will always preserve His Word, and this builds our faith, equips us as disciples, and gives hope for the future.
As we continue our journey with the early church, we see the encounter with Simon the Sorcerer. Simon wanted to buy the ability to give the Holy Spirit to others. From Acts 8, we learn that the power of God can never be bought. There are no shortcuts to God’s power. We can only attain this by truly surrendering to Him and His Word. The Holy Spirit can then work in our hearts and God’s true power can be displayed as we live in a way that points others to Him. The believers were scattered to make in a strong difference everywhere they went. We too are scattered every single week and can show the message of the Gospel through our very lives.

In our message last weekend, we see the powerful story of Stephen. Stephen was a true hero of the faith. He lived and spoke like Christ and courageously pointed others to him. But Stephen also sacrificially gave His for the Lord, and as a result, God transformed countless others. From the life of Stephen, we can remember to ask ourselves if we too are giving our own lives as a living sacrifice to reach others with the Gospel.

As we continue to see the birth of the early church, we are reminded on the value and importance of serving together. As God grows His church, the enemy will always try and retaliate. But when such problems arise, the solution is to always go back to what truly matters: serving the Lord together in unity. God always has greater things ahead, and in order to receive such blessings His people need to faithfully serve together in what He's called us to do.
In last Sunday’s message we receive a timely warning from Acts 5. Ananias and Saphira allowed pride to overtake them and this internal attack caused them their lives. What the enemy cannot conquer, he corrupts. We must be beware of theses internal attacks that could be brewing in our very hearts. Whether performing for the eyes of men or pride stirring in the heart: we receive a needed reminder that there are consequences for sin.

In our message last Sunday we see the start of persecution against the early church. However, Peter and John have a response full of courage and faith. Because of this response, others could see strong evidence of their genuine faith in Christ. From Acts 4, we are shown that a result of salvation will be a change in our hearts and will. Peter and John give a powerful example of what our response should be when we face persecution today!

As we kick off a new sermon series, we see the power of God work an amazing miracle through Peter and John. Acts 3 reminds us that the message we proclaim must call others to repentance and point hearts to Christ. This is the hope of the gospel we preach!

Last Sunday's message is from our special Vision Sunday celebration. As we kick off a brand new year, Pastor Paul brought a powerful challenge. A new season brings new blessings, and we are reminded from the book of Acts to faithfully continue in the Word, community, communion, and prayer. God wants to do great things over this new year, and we must stay committed to His call.
At our special Christmas Celebration service, Pastor Paul brought an encouraging message on God’s gift of peace. For every trial we face, there is a promise of peace. But it is only through Jesus Christ that we can receive it. Whether relational peace with others or eternal peace with God - we are reminded this Christmas season that when we come to Jesus, only then can we receive the peace He offers His children.
Last Sunday's message gives us a helpful reminder as we enter the Christmas season! It is so easy to get wrapped up in the business of the holidays and miss out on the special work God wants to do in our hearts! Pastor Paul brings a challenge from God's Word to remind us that it is in the moments where we be still and remember why Jesus came, that we truly can understand what Christmas is all about.
The final message of our sermon series was a fitting conclusion. At the end of Joshua's ministry, he reminds the people of God's unfailing promises and gives them a powerful challenge - "will you serve the Lord?" Because Joshua's life was committed to this, it had a lasting effect on the Israelites. We cannot serve both Jesus and our worldly desires. In order to fully follow Him like Joshua, we need to whole heartedly be committed to the Lord and allow our lives to make a lasting difference in the hearts of others.

Last Sunday's message sheds light on a powerful Word we must live by. In Joshua 14, we see how Caleb was fully committed to God and claimed His promises. This foundational belief in God's promises gave Him courage and truly renewed His mind. The promises of God still stand for us today! We must claim them over our lives, and whole heartedly be committed to His call.

As we dive back into our sermon series on the book of Joshua, Pastor Paul brings a powerful reminder from chapter 7. The life of Achan reminds us of the seriousness of our sin. Our God is full of love and mercy, but He is equally holy and just. He does not take sin lightly and many times there is a consequence for an unrepentant heart. His love and justice truly work hand in hand. Because of this, we can always confess to the loving Father and claim His restoration and healing.

The final message of Missions Month is brought by Pastor Josh Towns. From the book of 3 John, we are brought back to God's heart for world missions and reaching all with the Gospel. Not everyone is called by God to leave their homes to serve Him in a foreign land. But we can all do our part in sharing His love with those we interact with each day, and faithfully give of what we have so that others can reach those we never could.

Our second message of Missions Month was brought by guest speaker Adam Pearlstein. From the life of Jonah, we are reminded that to answer the call of God requires faith. Our opinion of others means nothing in God's desire to see all come to know Him. His gift of love is extended to all, and He opens doors for His children to share that with those in need. We He calls, we must have the faith to answer with "yes".
Our Missions Month begins with a Word brought by guest speaker, Micah Bosworth. From 2 Timothy 3, we see that each and everyone of us is called by God to some kind of ministry. But this "ministry" is referring to our very lives! No matter our calling, our lives ought to point people to Jesus and glorify Him! We must continue to surrender every area to Him and just like Paul, stay faithful to the end.

Pastor Paul brought a powerful truth as we continue our study in Joshua. The familiar story of Jericho gives us something to truly hold on to today. Every obstacle we face in our walk should be approached with a position of victory that is found only in Jesus. Just like Joshua, we need to have faith regardless of our current situation. By doing so, in His perfect timing He will bring the walls down. We need to claim His promises and watch Him overcome our Jericho!
Last Sunday's message was brought by Pastor Matt Farinella and gives us simple yet challenging truth from Exodus. God loves us exactly for who we are just as we are. But do we truly love Him for Who He is? Once we understand this, it changes everything.
Last Sunday's message reminds us that we must be a spiritually prepared people if we are going to glorify God and serve Him with joy. In Joshua chapter 5, we are reminded of God's covenant, goodness, and control of every situation the people faced. In our own lives before there is conquest, there must be consecration.

In last weeks message, we received a reminder that brings a challenge and immeasurable hope! Joshua tells the people to "sanctify" themselves in preparation for the wonders that God would do. Many times we as God's people can hold back these blessings from ourselves. God wants to do great things in our hearts. Whether certain things must be removed from our lives, or we truly need to take a step of faith - Joshua reminds us to sanctify ourselves to the Lord, and be ready for what He will do.

In last Sunday's message, we continue our study of Joshua with a n amazing event. Rahab the harlot was the most unlikely of individuals to be used by God. Her life is a powerful reminder that the Father can take the most broken situation, and turn it into something beautiful. No one is ever too far away to receive God's forgiveness. His redemptive grace can truly change us, and each day make us more like Him.

As we start a new sermon series, we see some foundational truths as Joshua begins his ministry. As we pursue God's will, His presence gives us power. Just as Joshua followed God's Word, we must do the same and allow it to lead us to a life full of faith and obedience.

Last Sunday's message is from our 5th Year Anniversary Celebration. Guest speaker Pastor Ryan Thompson brings a powerful message from the book of Acts on the original church. The blueprint is simple - the Person is Jesus, it's priority is the gospel, and it's power is the Holy Spirit. As we faithfully serve Him, we must hold onto the promise of His soon return.
For our final message on our study in the Book of James, we are given some encouraging reminders for when certain difficulties come our way in the journey. In our times of suffering and sickness, we should turn to God in prayer - and when a brother in Christ strays away, we must reach out in love and strive to restore those in need.

In today's message we are reminded on the importance of patience. No matter the circumstance, test, or whatever situation we find ourselves in - James reminds us to wait on the Lord and deeply trust His perfect timing in all things. God wants His children be people of patience, knowing the Father's will is best.

Today's message was one that brings a special truth for each and every one of us. Money is not evil - but when the accumulation of wealth and prosperity becomes our main focus, it takes the rightful place of God in our hearts. Jame's reminds us our hearts can easily be corrupted by riches. We need to practice Biblical stewardship and have a heart ready to give back to God and to those in need.

Last Sunday's message is brought by Pastor Dennis Fountain and gives a powerful truth from the life of Shamgar. There's no room for excuses when it comes to serving God. All He asks for is a surrendered spirit and heart full of faith. It is then when He can truly use us and display His power in our lives! No more excuses.

Many times, we tend to find fault in the lives of others. In pointing out other's failures, we strive to fulfill a need that is found only in Jesus Christ. Last week's message reminds us that speaking evil of others is not what God intends for His children. We need to acknowledge Jesus in every decision we make, and avoid the spirt of pride and self-glorification.

In last Sunday's message, guest speaker Pastor Mike Hollen brought a great challenge on grace! We get grace, to give grace, for God's glory! As receivers of God's grace we should share it with those in need.
Scripture: Hebrews 4:16
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." - James 4:6-7
Sin is a serious thing, and only by submitting to God can we truly overcome the desires of our flesh. As we continue this challenging truth from last week's message, James gives a blueprint to do just this: submit to God's authority, draw close to Him, and truly repent.
God gave us His Spirit to help us live a life that is separated from the world. Last Sundays message challenges us to remember that being a friend of the world is like an "enemy of God." Rather being a friend to the world, we should be a light and source of love that points others to Him!
Scripture: James 4:1-5
"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." - James 3:17
God promises to give us wisdom as we pursue and ask Him for it. We desperately need this wisdom, in order to live a life that will point others to Him. This past Sunday's reminder is that true wisdom is found only in Jesus Christ.
"Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell" - James 3:5-6
James reminds us that when ruled by our flesh, the tongue can truly be a destructive thing. But when we allow the Spirit of God to take control, it becomes a way for us to edify, encouragement, and share His love with others. Only in Jesus Christ, can we get our tongue under control!
"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." - James 2:26
Last Sunday's message gives us a challenging truth. Our faith must be shown by our work Our works for the Lord are a result of an overflow of our faith and love in Jesus Christ. Faith without works, is dead.
"My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons." - James 2:1
James chapter 2 starts with a challenging truth. God's unconditional love is extended to all - no matter the background or situation. Just as He has freely shown love to us, we ought to show it to whoever is in need. We look on the outside, but God always looks at the heart.
James main concern for the scattered believers was that their faith would result in action. As Christians, God's foremost desire is that our belief in the Word of God, would be revealed in our willingness to live out the Word.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves..
Our study of James continues as we see how the outside trials of life, will often move to an inward temptation. James gives us some warnings and encouragement to face temptation, with a victorious attitude that only comes through our relationship with Christ.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:5-12 is an important passage when facing unexpected trials and temptations in life. The good thing is, God has and answer for you, and it can be found in today’s message.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
In this first sermon of a new series in the book of James. We begin by looking at James encouragement to live joyfully, even in the difficult situations of life, because God is working through that situation for your good.
James 1:2-3 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Having Spiritual Vision, or seeing the world and your circumstances with a spiritual lens is an important aspect of living the victorious Christian life. In the middle of uncertain circumstances, we see Elisha encourage us to remember that if God is for us, who can be against us.
2 Kings 6:16-17 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
God’s power is something that every believer needs in their life. In today’s message, we look at how we can get back to seeing God’s power in our lives through a familiar story in the life of Elisha.
2 Kings 6:6-7 And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim. 7 Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.
This teaching series is all about people that God can use in an extraordinary way. In 2 Kings 5, we see the story of how God used a servant girl, to change a mans life forever.
2 Kings 5:2-3 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife. 3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
A temptation that many believers face is that we so easily resign ourselves to believing that God cannot use us any more. When the opposite is actually true, God wants to do great things with your life, however, we have to approach Him with a heart that desires His work. Not because of their own strength, or wealth, or ability, but because of Christ within us.
Psalm 40:4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
As the mantle of leadership is passed from Elijah to Elisha. We see in Elisha’s response to God’s call, examples of how we can approach the will of God for our lives. When we surrender to His will, holding nothing back, that we can truly experience a greater eternal impact.
1 Kings 19:19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
The showdown at Mt. Carmel was complete, the fire from heaven had fallen, the false prophets had been removed from Israel, and even the rain had returned by the miracle of God. You would think Elijah would be thrilled, but things were not perfect, and soon great discouragement came to his life. In today’s message, we look at encouragement when we are in a difficult place.
1 Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
As Israel continues to struggle with their commitment to the one true God. Through Elijah, God orchestrates a showdown on Mt. Carmel to prove once and for all that He is the one worthy of worship. As the people are confronted with this truth, their hearts are challenged to make a decision, either serve God, or serve the false idols they had been giving themselves too.
1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
As we pick up from last week, we continue a new series at City Baptist Church about the life of Elijah and Elisha, ordinary people who God used in a remarkable way. In this weeks message, we continue the story of Elijah, and how God prepared him for service, through some trying and difficult circumstances.
1 Kings 17:23-24 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth. 24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.
In this first sermon of 2019 from City Baptist Church. We take a look at the first mention of the Prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 17, and how that before he became the mighty Prophet that we know and love, God had to take him to a place of total dependance. As we look to 2019, the challenge is that we would be a people who are completely dependent upon God, which will then open the door for Him to use us for His glory.

In this new series at City Baptist Church, we will look at the simple truths of Christmas, and the personal impact the birth of Jesus can have in our lives.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
A heart of thankfulness is at the core of a life of worship. In this final message of our series, Pastor Paul encourages us with a challenge to be a grateful church, that allows our heart of thankfulness to God make a sincere impact in our lives.
1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
Commitment to God and one another is an important aspect in the local church. Not only does it play out in our determination to live for God, but in the way that we view our involvement in what God is doing. In Acts 20, the Apostle Paul gives to the leaders from the church in Ephesus some reminders on God's desire for His people to remain faithful and committed, even in challenging times.
Acts 20:24-25 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. 25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.
Since the beginning, mankind has struggled with our desires to be elevated above each other. Yet when Jesus outlined His desires for believers, it included the aspect of putting others interests and needs above our own. As a local church, our desire is to see God glorified through our pursuit of serving one another.
Mark 9:35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
Unity is a key element to the forward movement of any church family. In week two of "This is Us", we see three elements of unity that are essential to any church that desires to make a lasting impact for the Lord.
Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
