Following Dani's own unexplained fertility struggles, and wanting to create a narrative around it, Dani shares support and her personal journey with others who are new to infertility treatmentsand also trying to conceive.
Listen in full as we discuss how Dani has learnt to advocate for herself and change fertility clinics, due to unprofessional bedside manner and poor fertility treatment from specialists she trusted. We also chat through -
Fertility treatment options were not discussed in Dani's initial appointments with her fertility specialist, limiting their choices. Due to being new to the process, it is with hindsight that she realises the error of misinformation on the clinic's part may have caused their cycles to fail.
Fertility treatment costs in the USA can be high, so when a medical practitioner fails to properly inform their patients, they are potentially risking this huge and maybe only opportunity for the patient to conceive. Factoring in the misinformation, cost and the pandemic, it is understandable why some of the excitement of the process for Dani has been spoiled and why taking a break was the best option for her and her partner.

When Searching For The Best Male Fertility Supplements, There Are Certain Aspects To Look Out For. For Example:* Avoid Herbal Remedies – they have been found to have a negative effect on fertility * 200 mg of CoQ10 – this should be provided in the fertility supplements * The quantities of each ingredient – these should be clearly listed on the packaging * No unnecessary ingredients – like sugars, artificial colours, fillers etc * Antioxidants are beneficial to fertility. As sperm is subject to oxidative damage, it has been researched that antioxidants can help sperm quality. Therefore, Vitamins C, E, Zinc and folate have been mentioned as beneficial as they all possess antioxidant properties. * Coenzyme Q10 is an additional nutrient to the ones mentioned above that can provide fertility help.

The Intricacies of Fertility Preservation with the UK’s Leading Fertility and Family Lawyer for Modern Familieswww.louisaghevaertassociates.co.uk | @louisaghevaert
We had a brilliant chat this week with fertility lawyer, Louisa Ghevaert, whose pioneering legal practice has won multiple changes and improvements to law and policy in the UK for fertility patients, parents, children and families.
Listen below as we hear about why people preserve their fertility and some of the heart-wrenching fertility preservation cases she has dealt with. We discuss how the demand for fertility preservation (egg freezing) has increased due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact this has had on the fertility treatment sector.
Louisa is also in the know on fertility preservation (egg freezing) costs, success rates and she tells us about the legal implications people should think about.
We look at 2021 and how some old-fashioned law needs to be updated and how this will affect those looking at surrogacy in the UK, for example. Another hot topic is of course the length of time frozen eggs, sperm and embryos can be kept, especially with Covid fertility treatment delays.
If you’d like to discuss your personal situation with Louisa, then feel free to contact her directly here. Her specialist legal expertise includes: international and UK surrogacy, donor conception, fertility treatment law, posthumous conception, co-parenting and known donor arrangements, adoption, legal parentage, complex assisted reproduction disputes, children and family law disputes, divorce and finances, cohabitation, modern families and international family law.
It’s a very informative and interesting chat. Listen in full below or via your favourite Podcast app…Simply click ‘view in browser’ on the image below or listen via any of the following podcast apps:

Dr Willendrup had ICSI herself and her third child naturally, after adopting various lifestyle changes. She talks about her own story and what men can do generally to improve sperm quality (maybe together with the female partner), to optimize their chances when trying to conceive.

This week on our Fertility Springboard Podcast, we had the pleasure of being joined by guest, Shannon M. Clark, MD, MMS, FACOG, a double board certified Obstetrician, Gynecologist and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist in Texas, to discuss the implications of having babies after 35.
Dr. Clark has taken a special interest in pregnancy after the age of 35, which according to age alone, is considered a high-risk pregnancy. She was inspired not only by the experiences of friends and patients, but also by her own personal experience of trying to conceive at the age of 40. Dedicated to her education, training and career for 15+ years, Dr. Clark married at the age of 39 and began trying to start her family at age 40. After five failed cycles of IVF, she was able to become pregnant via an egg donor and delivered twins Sydney Renée and Rémy Vaughn in September 2016.
Listen as we discuss Dr. Clark’s personal story of having babies after 35 via an egg donor and what women should consider when trying to conceive later in life. Dr. Clark also gives her thoughts on celebrities who’ve had babies after 35 and whether this gives false hope.
As a women’s health writer, she has written for The Huffington Post, Mind Body Green, Glamour, Houston Moms Blog, Self Magazine and The Washington Post.

Just in the UK alone, a shocking 60,000 babies are born prematurely each year, accordingly to Tommy’s Charity and it’s estimated that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in baby loss during pregnancy or birth. Raising baby loss and miscarriage awareness is a massive part of the trying to conceive community and for this reason, we share stories of loss frequently on Fertility Help Hub, so that others can realise they’re not alone in their feelings, suffering and grief.
One wellness blogger who caught our attention for her voice and honesty on this subject matter, is Linny from @linspired.living. Linny is a marriage therapist from LA, California, who openly talks about her personal experience of recurrent miscarriage.
Listen to this episode below, as we talk about Linny’s personal journey, including:* How common miscarriage is * The chances of miscarriage and recurrent miscarriage (more than one baby loss) * Signs and symptoms of her miscarriages * Causes of her recurrent miscarriages * Miscarriage / recurrent miscarriage tests, investigations and treatments available
Linny has words of encouragement and hope which will inspire anyone trying to conceive. She’s a hero, thanks for your honesty Linny!

Having been there personally, we wanted to dig deeper for some fertility advice and embryo transfer tips, to pass on to all of those going through or about to embark on the IVF process.
Hear Kristen Talk us through Fertility Treatments and Behind the Scenes in the Lab
What happens after fertilisation with the ‘embabies’ when they start their adventure in the lab?
How do the embryologists pick the ‘best looking’?
What makes them strong contenders for IVF transfers and hopeful implantation?
How are embryos graded? What does embryo grading mean for IVF success rates?
Embryos not making it to blastocyst stage
How many Day 3 embryos make it to Day 5 (blastocyst) and what are the survival rates?
Does transferring two embryos increase the chance of IVF success and pregnancy or the chance of having twins? What happens when 2 embryos are transferred? This one blows our mind!
And the burning question as an IVF warrior - is it better to transfer an embryo on Day 3 or Day 5, as a blastocyst? We all want to be the best prepared possible for embryo transfer day, both mentally and physically, so let’s hear all about the embryo transfer process and more...
