After 21 years I will move back to India. I was a teenager when my family emigrated to the Silicon Valley. I leave New York in December 2018. Chronicles of this change is this podcast. Episodes are recorded during travel on different modes of transportation, beginning with the G that connects Brooklyn and Queens.
The title are the words of the 15 year old guide Arun who accompanied me on the trek to Triund. Weeks after this experience I feel the need to go even higher and to the next trek. Arun was an excellent guide and a very bright young man from Dharamkot.
making a record of whenever I feel happy and light and calm ... when I do what I promised myself.
I want to remember great days. I want to remember who I am on great days. Creative process is the key for me.
I want to remember how these past two weekend days made me feel happy because I was productive, I gave my 100% attention to things I wanted to do. I was exhausted in a good way.
daring to go a little further may show you a new path that takes you exactly where you need to be.

Been in the bay since July and had not come by to Ocean Beach in SF. Also first visit to SF this visit. October, I'm here with water touching my feet.
Clouds and mountains play here. Unfortunately the kind of people you want to avoid end up in the place you arrive in.
Blasting rain after a hot humid week is what is needed all the time. Going to the bay soon.

Fontwala is getting its first reading tonight for my ears and for some creative friends whose feedback I value. Nervous excited and looking forward to it a lot.
I get worked up in this one, but I whole-heartedly believe we need these conversations.
continuous light show from the sky with almost no sound. somewhere it is thundering but we don't hear it... till much later. Also sorry about audio in the last episode, got jacked up in the middle ... ugh. The episode image is actually that brief clip from a video of lightening at midnight.
rain surprise. you wish it rains for days and then in the middle of the night it arrives ... waking up to rain.
The lockdown in India is opening up. The cases are rising and #blacklivesmatter is rising and rising in the United States. Here is some reflection about what solidarity means when you are far from the country you've lived most of your life in.
The time before the sun rises. I wake up at that time nowadays. Recounting what the last two months have been about.
Two months have passed since the lockdown was announced in India. More detailed episodes coming soon. I will be foregoing the requirement of recording only on transportation modes, as I have all the episodes in the past, due to the limitations of these strange times.

no more sleeping till the last station, which was home.
In the bay area this month, happen to visit San Francisco and find a clear day. blue sky. no fog. Was there to watch a rehearsal. I always find a theatre and I am happy I was there to eventually find my way into a theatre.
Short but much needed respite in the mountains. I thought I was exclusively a beach person, Dharamkot let me witness the beauty of mountains.
Picking it up after supposedly losing last recording and then finding it and still posting both episodes.
I am exhausted. I refuse to spend time packing anymore. Yes to ice skating. Yes to the movie at The Metrograph. Yes to friends. Procrastinate the packing and that's ok.
Things. Things over six years that must be done away with. Because only two bags allowed on this flight. Therefore FML.
Post this recording I witnessed my fellow passenger sell pot to another passenger on the BART. The sale didn't go through because they didn't have the money he wanted. But that is not part of the episode. To know what is... Just listen.
