Conrad Aiken was an American writer and poet and a contemporary and friend of T.S.Eliot. His story, Mr Arcularis, is considered one of the finest short ghost stories of all time. Part one, although gentle is uncanny and unsettling. You get a real sense that things aren't quite right.

Neruda was a chilean diplomat and poet. He won the Nobel prize for literature in 1971. A staggering talent, Neruda could translate longing into words and words into longing. His poetry has become popular as readings at weddings, and for good reason. I hope you enjoy this episode and I would dearly love to hear what you would like me to read next.
