This is the final episode of Jim Corbett's adventure for the Man-Eater of Rudraprayag. We follow Jim on his last few days hunting the leopard. It seems that Jim has had non stop bad luck since he started his hunt... then on the last day he was set to be there, a little luck finally went his direction. We have multiple more missed opportunities, and the final human kill the leopard made. Jim waits in a mango tree for 11 days and on this 11th day he finally gets his shot in the dark that finally kills the "evil spirit" that haunted the villages for eight long years.

This episode is part 2 of Jim Corbett's hunt for the man-eating leopard of Rudrapryag. In this episode we look at many missed opportunities and failures from the hunt. This man-eating leopard proves to be an extremely difficult animal to kill as it escapes cyanide poison, bear traps and bullets. It's a real life Houdini leopard. At the end we learn exactly why so many villagers believed this leopard was an evil supernatural spirit out to get them. Leopards are amazingly cool animals... But in this case they can also be scary monsters.

To celebrate our 100th episode we bring you one of Jim Corbett's most famous stories... The Man-Eating Leopard of Rudrapryag. This will be part 1 of 3 and is the set-up for Corbett's hunting story. We learn all about the leopard and how it became a man-eater as well as learn about some of the kills it made. This leopard brought terror to the local villagers for 8 long years. They almost killed it multiple times, but the leopard became an escape artist to continue it's taste for human flesh. With over 125 kills this leopard is a heavy hitting serial killing machine.

This episode we cover the largest snake on the planet... the anaconda. Anacondas are native to South America in the Amazon Rainforest. They are very large snakes with sharp teeth and tons of strength, enough to constrict and kill large mammals. Their top size is heavily debated, some believe they've seen anacondas up to 60ft long. Anacondas are subject to the most extreme size exaggerations of any living animal. They are more likely to be at a max size of 20ft and 210lbs ish. Large enough to be man-eaters though? We also talk about the cult classic movie Anaconda film from 1997. Learn all about these snakes in this constrictor of an episode.

This episode we look at the longest sled dog race, the famous Iditarod. Every first Saturday in March mushers and sled dogs participate in a 1,000 mile race from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. It is a race of endurance that can last 9-13 days through the treterous terrain and weather of Alaska. We go over the interesting history of how the race began and how it works now. We also talk about 2 very good self dog films Togo and Iron Will. And of course all the dogs are "good boys".

Have you ever wondered how a pug came to be? Well we have some answers for you... Originating from ancient China the pug dog breed was made for royality. Basically bred to show status while sitting in their lap. They are definitely good boys. This episode is dedicated to Lola, our families recently deceased pug.

This week we cover one of the rarest and most elusive animals on the planet... the snow leopard. These big cats inhabit crazy high elevations in Central Asia. They are one of the coolest animals we have covered yet, and man are they impressive. Extremely adapted to the high altitude, cold weather living. We also have Dave react to probably the most insane wildlife footage we have ever seen... a snow leopard dives off cliff with goat in mouth and tumble down hundreds of feet, escaping with no injuries and a full dinner. Check out these beautiful and amazing big cats.

This week we will be covering an animal that you never knew you wanted to learn all about. An animal synonymous with Thanksgiving and the holiday season... the turkey. The turkey surprisingly has a deep history with American culture, and was almost our national bird. We learn all about the wild turkeys and their history, then maybe the most interesting part is the domestic turkey and how they are farmed to feed the country. Around 240 million turkeys are processed every year in the US to feed our fat faces. We share information all about the turkey meat industry. A very interesting episode where you will learn a lot.

This week we look into the very strange and bizarre animal known as the Tasmanian devil. This is the most iconic animal and thing to come out of the Australian state of Tasmania. A lot of people don't know where Tasmania is, but definitely a part of Australia. Some don't even know the devils are a real animal. They certainly are. The devils are actually the largest living carnivorous marsupials in the world. But, they really aren't very big, only the size of a small dog. They get their name from the loud devil like sounds they make when feeding and mating. We dive into some of their history, facts about them and also go over the devils in pop-culture.

This week we have part two of the famous true crime like story, Night of the Grizzlies. We jump right into where we left off with both of our attack stories. We find out what goes down during the attack at Trout Lake on Michele Koons. We also find out what happens at the Granite Park Chalet where the first bear attack took place. We will meet a cast of characters from both stories. Unfortunately, both stories do end in the gruesome deaths of two 19 year old women. These are sad, but thrilling stories. The aftermath of what happened on this night greatly changed the way grizzly bears are now managed. After this night no longer were people allowed to feed bears. Nowadays we try to keep away from bears as much as possible, a lot of the reason is from this night. It still remains a mystery why on one night two bears attacked two different women. Coincidence?... Seems like it.

This week, we have one of the best true crime stories involving animals... This is Night of the Grizzlies. We go back in time to 1967, to Glacier National Park. Back then rules for bears were pretty lax, to say the least. Tourists would come from all over to watch grizzlies battle for the best garbage. From when the park was founded in 1910 there had never been a fatal grizzly attack. But on one fateful night it all changes... There are two different grizzly bear attacks just hours apart and a few miles away, both from different bears, and both lead to the death of two 19 year old women. Its a crazy story. We also learn a bit about Glacier National Park and 1967. This is only part one... There may be a cliffhanger.

This week we go to the ocean and cover attack stories from one of mans most fearful predators... sharks. These are stories that have all happened in the last few months and most actually take place Down Under, in Australia. For some reason there has been a surge of shark attacks there as well as 4 recent deaths, we cover them all. We also are joined by a special guest Dayna Bodtcher, she is an avid shark lover and related to both hosts. Dayna and Dave both provide their own stories. And we end on the very first shark fatality in the state of Maine.

This week we celebrate our 2nd anniversary episode. After two whole years doing the show we really love doing it and a big thank you to all the listeners who support us. We have some new stupid idiots of Yellowstone stories that involve sneaking into the closed park and falling into a thermal pool and people who get too close to wild, dangerous bison. Then we go over which insects have the most painful stings. Spoiler... it's the bullet ant. There are four levels of pain with four being the worst. Then we talk about a plant that if you get stung by it you may commit suicide because the pain is just too much. Then we end the episode with a few listener stories.

This week we take a look at some species that do not belong. An invasive species is an organism that is not native to a particular area. They can cause great environmental and economic harm to the new area. To be invasive, a species must adapt to the new area easily. It must reproduce quickly. It must harm property, the economy or native plants and animals of the region. Many invasive species are introduced to a new region accidentally, while others are brought on purpose.

2nd Story- Pablo Escobar's Cocaine Hippos

This week we look into one of the most terrifying animals to have ever lived... the terror birds. Terror birds were giant flightless birds that lived for 60 million years in South America. The largest species was the kelenken, which stood around 10 feet tall and around 400lbs. The most famous terror bird species is named Titanus, this one stands out for being the only one found in North America. Terror birds were apex predators with no competition on South America. Until the Great American Interchange brought other predators to compete with the terror birds.

This week we look into one of the most ferocious, gluttonous, fearless and bad-ass animals on the planet, the wolverine. Wolverines are the largest species of the weasel family and have many nicknames including; skunk bear, glutton bear, hyenas of the north, weasel on steroids and many others. These super cool animals inhabit the upper northern hemisphere in the colder regions. They are adapted to their environment, with fur that wont freeze and a specialized molar tooth that allows them to tear apart frozen animals. We also learn that actor Hugh Jackman didn't even know wolverines existed before he got the role that made him famous. All this and much more. Enjoy.

This week we tell the story of Jim Corbett and his 72 hour hunt for the Muktesar tigress that has killed at least 24 people. This is a story from earlier in Jim's hunting career. He has an exciting hunt, spending one night in a tree in pitch black darkness with the tiger 15 feet away. We learn about how other sportsmen previously failed hunting this tiger and how Jim eventually succeeds. The ending is especially crazy, with his most insane tiger kill to date. And once again we learn that porcupines may actually be behind the reason this tiger has turned to man eating.

This wee we look at the amazing Bengal tigers. Bengal tigers are the most notable tiger species and one of the most iconic animals on the planet. They are native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan and make up over half of all tigers in the world. At the beginning of the 1900's there were supposedly over 100,000 in the wild, nowadays only around 2,500 live in the wild. There may be more in zoos than in the wild. The reasons are all because of humans... poaching and habitat loss make up for most of it. Tigers are awesome animals that deserve our protection. But sometimes tigers can be scary monsters... tigers have killed more people than any other predatory mammal. There are around 100 tiger attacks a year in some areas. We also go through a list of well known man eating tigers.

We're back... This week we finish off our series on orcas by looking at them in captivity. We learn about Shamu as well as a few other famous individual orcas. Then we look into how orcas are captured and the long lasting mental stresses affect them. We also look into some orca attack stories that have happened in captivity and talk about the famous orca, Tilikum. Tilikum was the subject of the 2013 documentary, Blackfish. Tilikum is responsible for the deaths of three people, which we go over. We also learn a bit about SeaWorld. Orcas are some of the most interesting animals we have covered on the show.

This week we have a special guest to join us, Dayna Bodtcher. And the theme for this episode is the relationship between orcas and humans. In Australia during the 1920's a pod of orcas worked with a whaling team to hunt baleen whales. We also look into some legends of orcas indigenous people used to have. We look into whale watching around the globe and Dayna gives us information on how orcas have been killing great white sharks off the coast of South Africa. Then finally we look into orcas in pop-culture, including the 1977 film "Orca" and of course "Free Willy."

This week we look into the most badass predators on the planet. They go by many names the bullies of the sea, the wolves of the sea, killers of whales, killer whales and orcas. We learn all about orcas in the wild to start off our three part series on them. There are two main types of orcas, resident and transient, each type has their own ways of doing things and different hunting techniques. Orcas have some of the most complex social structures of the entire animal kingdom, second only to humans. We also go over six different hunting techniques including beaching themselves to catch seals, making waves to knock seals off ice, drowning large baleen whales and many more. Learn all about these awesome animals here!

This week we look into the largest animals on the planet, baleen whales. We learn all about these magnificent creatures and what makes them different than toothed whales. We also go a little more in depth into two species, the humpback and the blue whale. Humpbacks are known for whale watching and producing the most intricate songs of any animal. Blue whales are known for being the largest animals to have ever existed. They can get to 90+ feet long and weigh around 300,000lbs. We also share two stories of whales capsizing boats.

This week we look into the giants of the sea... whales. We go over three specific badass whale species; the beluga whale, the narwhal and the poorly named sperm whale. All of these whales are one of two types of whales, these are members of the toothed whales. The other type are baleen whales, which we will go over next week. Did you know that killer whales (orcas) are actually dolphins not whales. The sperm whale has a reason for its odd name and it involves something you would never have thought of. The sperm whale is also the same type of whale as Moby Dick. Lots to learn on this whale of a tale.

This week just in time for Halloween we look at some creepy crawlers with eight legs. This may be squeamish for people with arachnophobia. Actually arachnophobia affects 5% of the entire world. We learn all about spiders and including different species, their webs and silk, and many other interesting facts. Then we look into some of the more dangerous spiders around the world. Overall though we learn that spiders really aren't as dangerous as you probably expected.

This week we have another episode all about hunting accidents. It is now hunting season for most and to celebrate we go over some stories about what not to do. Sometimes though accidents happen out of nowhere. Someone might get shot by another person, or someone may think a person looks like a deer and shoots them, someone may be shot by their own dog, or someone may be impaled by elk antlers. All of those things happen this episode and much much more. Remember to stay safe out there hunters.

This week we look into the American black bear. A lot of interesting things about them, and they actually don't even have to be black. Some black bears are brown, blonde or even white. We learn about bear hibernation and some bear safety tips. Black bears are more predatory than brown bears and have been known to stalk and eat humans. That is why if ever attacked by a black bear you must fight back, if you don't it might eat you. And bears are known to eat while there prey is still alive. Be sure to go watch the movie Backcountry to see a realistic and frightening attack.

This week we look into the slithery serpents known as rattlesnakes. Rattlesnakes are very cool iconic animals of the old west. They live all over the Americas but are most known to live in the Southwest United States and Mexico. But the largest of them, the eastern diamondback, lives in the south. They can be as far north as Canada or as far south as Argentina. Rattlesnakes have highly developed hemotoxic venom that can kill you. We then learn about rattlesnakes in pop culture and finish on a few attack stories.

This week we look into an old pal of ours... rabies. Rabies has been an on going thing on the show since we started. Rabies is almost forgotten about here in the U.S. but in other places it is still a serious problem that kills 50,000 people a year. We do a recap on the lethal virus itself and then go into a few stories. Remember, rabies is totally curable as long as you get the vaccine before symptoms start to show... If you don't you will die, there is a 100% chance of death without getting the vaccine on time.

This week we look into one of the more famous stories we have covered, the man-eating lions of Tsavo. These were two maneless lions that wrecked havoc throughout Kenya in 1898, during the construction of a railroad. In nine months the lions killed around 135 people. They were finally killed by Lieutenant Colonel John Henry Patterson who led the construction of a bridge being built. But Patterson finally managed to kill both lions. These big males were the definition of man-eater. We also talk about the film make from this story, "The Ghost and the Darkness."

This week have more about lions. We take a look into lion conservation and tell the story of Cecil the lion who was killed by a trophy hunter. Trophy hunting is a complicated issue and this story sparked lots of debate on the ethics of it. Then we share lots of information about lions in pop culture. Lions are one of the most iconic animals in the world and are deeply rooted to many cultures. Then we talk about some famous films about lions. We talk about the new Lion King movie and give our review on it. We also talk about the most dangerous film ever made, a movie called "Roar." With a movie set having 150 big cats and over 70 people getting injured we see how dangerous it was. Then we end on telling about some of the more famous man-eating lions throughout history, including a pride of lions responsible for killing over 1,500 people.

This week we look into the kings of the African Savannah's... Lions. Lions are the ultimate apex predators. There is so much to learn about with them, this week we look into about lions and their behaviors within prides, as well as ancient lions and how they hunt. Many may not know that there are actually wild lions living in India. Only about 650 exist there. Lions also dominate over most other predators, but still have to deal with those pesky hyenas. Lions actually steal more from hyenas than the other way around. Learn a lot more here.

This week we look into the famous story of the WWII ship known as the USS Indianapolis. This ship delivered parts of the atomic bomb and shortly after was sunk by a Japanese submarine. This is a tale of survival as the survivors fight off dehydration, exhaustion and even sharks as they are lost at sea for 4 days. Many sharks came and fed on the dead and killing some themselves. This is known as the worst shark attack in history. We also talk about statistics from the 2018 shark attack report.

This week we take a look at a fearsome predator known as the bull shark. We go over all about them, from their size to their diet to their attack stats. Probably the coolest and scariest thing about them is that the can live in both saltwater and freshwater. There are found in coastal areas all over the world as well as river systems and even lakes. Then we tell the story that began the fear and hysteria over sharks that still goes on today. This story was the inspiration of Jaws. It is the 1916 Jersey Shore Shark Attacks. 12 days of panic as there were five victims with four of them dying.

This week we end our series about the cold blooded reptiles. We share a tragic story of adventuring kayakers in Africa. Three good friends go on an adventure of a life time only for one to end at the bottom of the river, or a crocodiles stomach. Then we go over some very interesting croc and gator attack statistics, some which might surprise you. We then go over some of our favorite videos on youtube, check out their links below. And we end on the very sad story of a toddler who is attacked by a gator while in Orlando, Florida for a Disney Vacation. Crocs and gators are awesome animals, but can also be scary monsters.

This week we continue our series on crocs and gators by doing a solo episode about dem gators. We learn all about alligators and where to find them, some differences between crocs and gators and many other things. While not as big as some crocs, gators are still apex predators of the swamp. A little more docile than crocodiles, but still very dangerous. We also dive into some folklore with a tale of a legendary gator called "Two-Toed Tom" who terrorized a poor farmer. And also a Native American folklore story about The Alligator and the Hunter.

Snake Island is 90 miles off the coast of Sao Paulo, Brazil and is a very small island at only 110 acres. The only people allowed to go there is the Brazilian Navy and selected scientists. Learn all about this island and it's dangerous inhabitants.

We discuss the climate and weather and how cold it can really get there. We also talk about the different wildlife that lives there, especially penguins. This week we look into the famous story of the Sankebetsu brown bear incident. This is the worst bear attack in Japanese history, a real true crime story. The bear even has his own name "Kesagake". This is a fascinating story of an angry bear who woke up too early from hibernation and unleashed terror to local visitors. In two days he killed 7 people, injuring many more and making homes look like slaughterhouses. We also get to meet the drunk hunter named Yamamoto who is a poor mans Jim Corbett, but still managed to kill the bear. At the end we also go into what to do if you encounter a bear and how to protect yourself.

This week we look into the fascinating life of Jim Corbett. You want adventure and excitement look no further than to this man. He was a tracker, hunter, teacher, author, naturalist, environmentalist and all around bad-ass. We look into his early life and his fondness for animals and the jungles that he lived in. We also look into several of the man-eaters that he hunted. Including a tiger that has killed more people than any other individual animal in recorded history (Which will be next weeks episode). Then we look into his accomplishments after hunting which are probably more important. He even was responsible for India's first National Park, which was re-named Jim Corbett National Park after his death. He was a big time conversationalist and has helped with keep the tiger alive, still today. Jim and his stories are a big part of why this podcast was made. Make sure to check this out!

On our bonus episode we go over the very recent story of a man-eating tiger in India.  A tiger has just recently been killed and linked to the deaths of 13 villagers.  Originally planned on being captured, a series of events lead to her needing to be shot in "self-defense."  Also an unlikely cologne fragrance becomes part of the hunt.  This story comes at the perfect time as later this week we will share the story of Jim Corbett... hunter of man-eaters.

This week we look at hunting and crazy accidents that can happen.  It is now hunting season throughout the U.S. and in an effort to remind people to hunt safely we tell tales of hunting accidents and death.  You would be surprised how often people accidently shoot each other, or mistake a person for a deer.  The U.S, isn't the only country with accidents, we look at a few stories from New Zealand and France.  From falling out of trees, to capsized boats, we look into bad things that can happen while out hunting.  Stay safe out there hunters!

This week we look into the most bizarre and dangerous animals we've had yet... hyenas.  They are true gangsters of the Savannah.  Normally believed to be cowardly and villianous scavengers, but that's far from the truth for these complex and highly intelligent animals.  Also extremely strange animals, the females are in charge and have some abnormal body parts.  We also learn how Scar from Lion King got his scar.
