In early 2022, Julie was named the new Executive Director of the CASA Project, a not-for-profit organization of Court Appointed Special Advocates that are committed to speaking for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the Worcester County Courts. Julie comes from a family created primarily through foster care and adoption which has impacted her passion for child welfare and healthy and happy long-term outcomes for vulnerable youth. We learn about the hard work they’re doing and the exciting Champions for Children fundraiser celebration they have coming up.

Through hard work and tough conversations, they’re continuing to create a place for learning, love, and respect, better known as The Village. This Afrocentric cultural, learning & healing center in the Main South neighborhood sounds like a giant facility, but is really just a triple decker they transform to suit their needs. The Jane Fund of Central Massachusetts is dedicated to funding and supporting abortion access in Central Massachusetts and beyond. These group of amazing people lend their time and leadership to fielding calls for help, fundraising, training volunteers, thanking donors, collaborating with Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers, keeping up-to-date with the reproductive justice movement, and maintaining relationships with activists at other abortion funds and pro-choice organizations.
