In January 2006 Stephen Staunton became the surprise choice as manager of the Republic of Ireland football team following the decision of the FAI not to renew the contract of former Irish manager Brian Kerr.
Staunton had been an outstanding servant to Irish football at one time holding the record for appearances for the Republic of Ireland. He amassed 102 caps for Ireland, scoring eight goals along the way. Most of his international career was spent playing in defence however he also played in midfield on occasions.
Ciara Breen has been missing from home in Batchelors Walk, Dundalk since the early hours of Thursday 13 February, 1997. She was 18 Years of age at the time. It is thought that she left her home in the early hours for a pre arranged meeting with an unknown person. But this has not been confirmed and no knows where Ciara went on that night.

The four lads Dean, Louis, Adam and Peter are together as a band for the last 3 years and are going from strength to strength. The band members have various influences from Led Zeppelin to The Dubliners, which culminate in their very own unique style of music.

Eileen Corcoran from Dundalk FM visited a family who entered Taaffes Castle in medieval Carlingford for a week to live exactly as they did during the period of King John in 1210
The family can be seen foraging for their food, cooking their meals, playing medieval games, milking goats and tending to their animals throughout the entire week. The general public were also invited to visit the diminutive medieval village to the fore of the castle where trades from the period will be demonstrated including candlemaking, butter churning and the building of an original Irish Curragh which will be constructed on site over the 7 days.
Taking part in the programme were Claire Cooney and Shane Brennan, Knockbridge Primary School - Knockbridge Townlands; Geraldine McCullough, Manager - history of the pond, the committee, cross border connections with the Belfast Burns Society; Shane McCollum - 40km sponsored hike and cycle on the Táin route around Carlingford, raven crafts and his work at Stephenstown Pond; Rachel McGuire and Ciara Byrne; Michelle Maguire Events Coordinator, Dairymaid Coffee Shop and Saorise and Chloe.

What a fantastic show we had today with Michael Duffy being joined by local man and international legendary singer/songwriter Liam Reilly !
Liam performed some of his best known hits Live in studio and talked very openly about his career to Michael. Liam even wrote a song in the studio made up from words that had been text in by listeners ! Michael picked a few of the best lines from the texts and gave them to Liam, who then incorporated all the words into a brand new song !!!
