The key to add realistic rain is to first have some cool rainbrushes, but then also to blur them so that they look more realistic and to change the direction of the rain.

When I got the Leica Q3 I knew it shot in 8k, and I wanted to try to shoot videos with it.
I shot most of this short at 1.7 with the Summilux 28 f/1.7. It did not disappoint. My main idea was to shoot in Low light and hope to get a cinematic result.
The only problem is that the Leica Q3 doesn't take sound, so I recorded everything using a DJI mic with my Iphone and synched everything in Davinci resolve, which I use to edit this.
I loved making this and playing around with a fiction short to promote my book.
It was a lot of work, and I hope you enjoy the result.
The only thing I had trouble with is that the Leica Q3 doesn't shoot in Log as far as I could figure out so the color correction was limited.
I shot in 8k but edited in 4k.

Shooting at the right time of the day. I was obsessed with a photographer's photo from 1936 from Brassai. A beautiful photo of the stairs of Montmartre, the oldest part of Paris.
I went there about 12 times until I came to the perfect night. I found a new framing, and I show in the video the exact workflow in Lightroom to retouch it.

There is a very specific time that will make your cityscape look great 90% of the time, it is really my best trick for cityscape photography. It is a magic 15 minutes window, called the blue hour but the best is right at the beginning, it is all about the contrast and details in the sky.
