Topics in Endurance Sports mostly is about endurance races I do, but other topics do come up sometimes. Periodically I interview someone.
I talk about three short trail races I did in early 2025. The George Rogers Clark Park 10K, Kiss the Goat 10K, and the DINO Brown County State Park 15K.
I did a couple of short running races a YEAR ago. I talk about them here. The Madison Athletic Boosters Spring 5K, and the Lincoln Memorial Garden Trail Race 8K.
We did the Trail Trashed trail races in Las Vegas. I talk about that, and some other things we did in and near Vegas.
I did four short-ish races in six weeks in Southwestern Ohio: The Chocolate and Beer Valentines Day 10K/50K, the ORRRC Frosty 14, the ORRRC Little Miami 10 Mile, and the Big Hoopla 4 Miler.
I ran (mostly walked) the Bandera 50K put on by Tejas Trails. Near Bandera, Texas. Other races were the 100K and 25K. I talk about the race, and also things I did before and after, on this run-cation.
My wife and I went to Nashville to do a turkey trot, and do other fun stuff. I also did a local trail race here in Ohio. (Note: I stated the Turkey Trot started at 7:30. It started at 8:30.)

I talk about the 1986 movie On The Edge, starring Bruce Dern, based in part on California's Dipsea race.
I provide a synopsis and review of both the book and the movie "Unbroken, A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption" about Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who found himself stranded at sea, and then in Japanese WW II POW camps. I talk a bit about the author, Laura Hillenbrand, and a little about chronic fatigue syndrome and overtraining syndrome.
I talk about a variety of events: Tour de Darke bike tour, Bill Keating Jr. Great Ohio Swim, Cincy TT Cyclocross, Newbo Half Marathon, Bite the Bullet 5 Mile Run, and Carter Park Cyclocross.
I did the Air Force Marathon, and the associated Fly Fight Win Challenge, in Ohio. Hear all about it. Great race.
I talk about the Fall Creek Falls Half Iron in TN. Also a little trip to Chattanooga, and a hike at Fall Creek Falls State Park.

I recount my day at a triathlon in Columbus Ohio. All in all a good race and one you should consider!

I "ran" the Laurel Highlands 70.5 mile Ultra in SW Pennsylvania. Did I finish? Hear many details about the race from a guy way in the back.
I ran the Tie Dye 50K at John Bryan State Park in Ohio. Also in this episode I compare the Hoka Speedgoat Wide 5's to the Topo Ultraventure 2's.
I talk about doing the Hyner Trail Challenge 50K in Pennsylvania - Rocksylvania! All the deets. After the race I went to the Corning Museum of Glass and to Presque Isle State Park.
I did the Creve Coeur St. Paddy's half marathon and my daughter did the 7K near St. Louis, Missouri. We also hung out in St. Louis. Finally I review the book "The Slummer: Quarters Till Death" by Geoffrey Simpson.
I ran the Night Owl Trail Marathon at Caesar Creek State Park in Ohio. A week earlier I made a day trip to Red River Gorge in Kentucky.

I ran the Bell Ringer Trail Run 50K near Nashville, TN. I talk about that and also some fun I had after the race.

I ran the Davenport (Iowa) YMCA Turkey Trot, again. Then I ran the Broken Toe 25K trail race near Caesar Creek State Park in Ohio.
I ran the inaugural Haunted Forest Marathon in Canal Fulton, OH. The next day I did a bit of hiking in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
I did the Run the Mill Half Marathon. Then two cyclocross races: Jingle Cross and Kings Cross.

In this episode I talk with an incredible ultrarunner who is a real rocket scientist! Blake Wood has completed the Barkley Marathons, 22 Hardrock finishes, and ran two sub 3-hour marathons 41 years apart, and can still run a 5:21 mile at the age of 60. That's just for starters. On top of that he's a real nuclear physicist at the famous Los Alamos National Laboratory. We talk science, cross country coaching, and of course some running.
