Lucha Talk returns with Dylan & Micro talking TripleMania Tijuana which was somehow less of a horror show than April's AAA offering. Jumping to CMLL we go over a number of things, largely focused on La Copa Jr. VIP & Mistico vs. Magnus, Panther vs. Hechicero with a bit of talk about FantasticaMania Mexico. Finally, Micro went to a couple of shows live in our time off! We talk about Zeuxis vs. Mercedes in AEW & his visit to MLW.

Lucha Talk is back and you know what we're talking about, AEW has arrived in Arena México! We talk about Dos Leyendas, the amazing crowd reaction to many of the new viewers who gave CMLL a chance and how hot the company feud has been. In addition we go over the followup, the Super Viernes show this Friday featuring the big time main event, Bryan Danielson vs. Blue Panther! We close the show talking about AAA for some reason, and speculate what the good people of Monterrey did to deserve the card AAA has presented them for their "TripleMania".
Talk Lucha with us! Check us out. @Viva_Zero @MICROMANFEVER @therealfredo (he's not around much anymore but he'll always be apart of the Trio!)
Lucha Talk is back, get ready for the Clone Wars! AAA had their Rey de Reyes, one of their biggest shows of the year. Things aren't great as they have multiple re-gimmkck-ings on the table as well as a terrible injury to Hijo del Vikingo, their MEGA Champion. We talk about all of their many issues and then take a turn to greener pastures, CMLL! We talk about their torneo de escuelas, a showcase for the "newer" talents of CMLL and how this year compared to last. We talk about and give a full preview of Homenaje Dos Leyendas which is main evented by AEW talents! Which leads into the discussion of the CMLL/AEW relationship and how the Luchadores have been used so far on their TV (Spoiler: We like it) as well as potentially the future of the relationship. We close out with a bit of talk on Trauma I & Wotan and Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. winning the GHC Heavyweight Title in NOAH, the first ever Méxican GHC Heavyweight Champion!
Check us out on X (FKA Twitter) and let us know all about any topics, but of course most importantly Lucha Libre and bug Fredo about him being spoiled with Ohtani to the Dodgers!

LUCHA TALK IS BACK. Dylan & Microman Fever have returned to the mic and are back covering Lucha all over Mexico and then all over the Globe. If there was a grade to give, the big companies get an A and an F, and IWRG & the indies as a whole get an I for incomplete for what's been going on. We talk about the best of the whole year in both promotions and hang out talking about some issues with AAA. We then bring it in to talk about the impact Lucha's made on the worldwide stages in 2023, with some focus on AEW's usage of Luchadores, to WWE and how they've handled Dragon Lee this year, all the way to NJPW and the FantasticaMania lineup coming up next month. It's good to be back, and good to kick off 2024 right in this laid back look at Lucha Libre and our hopes for the new year.
If you got something to say about Lucha Libre, let us know. Reach out to us:

THE TRIO IS BACK! Lucha Talk returns after an extended hiatus with a feel good show with loose outline going over some recent and semi-recent comings and goings in both CMLL like the Rocky Romero & Volador Jr. feud & AAA like with AAA's many TripleManias and the big one coming up with Kenny Omega vs. Hijo del Vikingo. Then we talk about the big spots Luchadores have gotten internationally lately and how they're used. Examples being Komander, Rush & the LWO & even Stephanie Vaquer getting the biggest match of her career vs. Mercedes Moné (AKA Sasha Banks). The format isn't steady but there's a lot of fun talk and match recs too littered throughout. We'll be back at least every month going forward so please join us in talking Lucha Libre! We missed this crazy show!
Follow the Trio on Twitter and PLEASE let us know what you think, what you're liking and what you got to say:

Also feel free to send Dylan a match from a non-Mexican Lucha company and it may get spotlighted next episode!
The Trio makes a return in the tough times of today, going over some bad news and good news and even traditional goofy news at times near the end. First we break down the recent accusations going around against Blue Demon Jr. and the horrific ones going against "son & daughter" of Sangre Chicana, then we somehow get to AAA and offer a little of the lawsuit with Lucha Libre FMV preventing growth outside of México (for now). Then we go over the entire Rey de Reyes show with big multiman matches, and a huge main event angle along with the debut of Andrade. Then we have the debut of Andrade in a debuting promotion, Federación Wrestling! Finally we talk about CMLL's latest screwups and how they blew up their relationship with ROH for dumb reasons.
Talk Lucha with the Trio on Twitter! We're always there: @DylanZeroSky - @therealfredo - @MICROMANFEVER
Lucha Talk is talking what once looked like an unlikely show at one point that ended up not only happening but ended up being good with 2 great matches to close the show out in TripleMania XXVIII! We run through the entire card, what's been going on in AAA that led up to it in this weird time period with a lack of Lucha and suddenly Micro states his displeasure not only with Molotov, but their fans on top of it while Dylan asserts himself as the true top fútbol expert in Lucha, while Fredo brags about being from LA. But mostly it's about TripleMania.
Talk Lucha with the Trio on Twitter: @DylanZeroSky - @MICROMANFEVER - @therealfredo
Lucha Talk is here for the 87th Anniversary Show of CMLL, CMLL Aniversario! We go to the show as voted on by the fans, and changed many many times based on the pandemic and positive tests, rumors, and the matches themselves where somehow Dalys still got in. How did the show do as a show and an Aniversario show? Let's go for it.
Talk Lucha with the Trio on Twitter: @DylanZeroSky - @MICROMANFEVER - @therealfredo
Today we end up looking at the the second part of the CMLL boom of the late 2000s, going through Místico's historic run all the way to his departure to WWE in 2011. We go over things in the company starting in 2007, the year where Místico had a wonderful feud with Dr. Wagner Jr. and starred in a top rated Telenovela! 2008 sees a seismic shift as major stars leave and a legend loses his mask in one of the biggest upsets is Lucha history. After that, in 2009 it's the year of Místico vs. Negro Casas & Japan vs. México with a young Tetsuya Naito in multiple hair matches! 2010 sees the true end as we talk about the dropped ball that was Místico's rudo turn, the terrible Invasores run, and the year of some of the most random cage matches in Lucha ever. We close it off by going over Místico's post-CMLL run as Sin Cara, Myzteziz & back to CMLL as Carístico in the Shadow of the 2000s boom.
Talk Lucha with the Trio on Twitter: @DylanZeroSky - @therealfredo - @MICROMANFEVER
This week on Lucha Talk we start a series based on the last boom period of CMLL, going through the mid to late 2000s. In part 1 we look through CMLL from the rise of Místico and through that peak, starting with a recap of the years 2004, 2005, & 2006. What was going on throughout the year? Who was the original plan to be the next big star instead of Místico? How great was Perro Aguayo Jr.? What about the big stars at the time who were established like Universo 2000, Hijo del Santo. The women return to Arena México after years away. Early La Máscara even gets mentioned!? Nearly everything in CMLL is covered from those years and it's only part 1!
Talk Lucha from any era with the Trio on Twitter: @DylanZeroSky - @MICROMANFEVER - @therealfredo
Hola, mis amigos y amigas. The Trio is back talking a classic and fondly remembered show in Lucha Libre history, the one that started it all for Lucha fans. AAA's When Worlds Collide! The show that drew 13,000 fans into LA and made it's US PPV debut featuring a large contingent of AAA talent along with some WCW push in America. We talk a bit about the buildup to the show and why it happened, plus why it's NOT available on the WWE Network to this day, then we break down the 5 match show top to bottom. From the minis opener to the tag team match that holds a legacy to all Lucha Libre fans to this day. Eddie Guerrero and Art Barr vs. Octagón & El Hijo del Santo. It's all covered here and the crowd along with the much hated Konnan are talked about as well in depth.

First off it's a deep dive into CMLL's Homenaje a Dos Leyendas, with universal agreement. Are there any positives to take away from a main event tag match that saw Bestia del Ring's partner injured? Find out, in addition to a better than expected undercard. On the other side of the fence we talked about AAA's Rey de Reyes with a new format this year, and the main event that saw the Young Bucks come in to film a main event angle and close the show in a twist that caused a stir online. We go over it, we go over the feedback from the fans and we go over the future plans. It's a big one this week, so kick back, relax, and enjoy some Lucha Talk.

This week on Lucha Talk the Trio are breaking out their thinking caps, discussing a concept talked about by Lucha fans for over 25 years since AAA's formation, AAA vs CMLL. Dylan, Alfredo, & Raul give their take on realistic cross-promotional matches they would want to see, the behind the scenes dealings that have prevented the companies from working together to this point, as well as the chances of this dream promotional war becoming a reality. Before that we recall the past week in Lucha including a well above average AAA TV show and a CMLL Legends show that was pretty good until a truly awful main event occurred. In addition a rare American based opening as we talk about Andrade "Cien" Almas and his big NXT Title win.

Lucha Talk returns with the debut of MICROMANFEVER! And with him we have one of its most positive episodes in history this week as we talk about a great week for CMLL with Soberano continuing the best push in any wrestling company this year with another epic performance in the Gran Alternativa Final in a truly great match, with us discussing him & what's next for the "Sovereign" of CMLL. From there we jump to Lucha Underground & talk about the Cueto Cup, as well as the effects of Cage's Power Glove in matches & Lorenzo Lamas' greatest moments as an actor after his unfortunate meeting with "The Machine". Then we go to AAA with what both Dylan & "Micro" call the best AAA Worldwide of the year! Finally we have a special segment where we talk about the best indie matches of the week featuring an epic Rush/LA Park tag, a crazy Ingobernable/Rebelión brawl, & an excellent technical display from Virus & Prayer. This week on Lucha Talk we go over all 3 major promotions and their comings and goings, including the announcement of a never before seen concept of a tournament in Lucha Libre determining a number one contender for a title shot brought to us by Dario Cueto. In addition we go over to a pretty positive episode of Lucha Underground with title matches, major angles and a ghost Vampiro! Also the big news in CMLL as they had a loaded week featuring the announcement of the return of the Gran Prix in September, two new champions crowned, and a well above average Friday show featuring a really good Block of the Gran Alternativa and the continued rise of Vangellys! AAA had a show too this week and it was definitely something. Follow the Trio on Twitter and give us a shout - @DylanZeroSky - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER
Lucha Talk is back, & Lucha Underground's back with it. The trio go over the return, "All Night Long" match and the decision to come back after 5 months with an Ironman match draw. From there we get to something many thought would never be seen again, a pretty alright episode of AAA Worldwide with AAA MVPs Hijo del Fantasma & Hijo del Vikingo getting spotlight. Thankfully things return to crazy with Verano de Escandalo results coming out and we talk about all the changes to the card, Apuestas losses & Vampiro's cake. Then things get more bizarre with an XLAW reunion, The Crash making more big moves with La Máscara & Máximo debuting on their latest show. Then even CMLL gets in on weirdness with an episode based around a Vangellys angle, as well as the Gran Alternativa tournament opening up with their Block A. After last week's insanity in Lucha, we move to more craziness as we discuss Lucha Underground coming back! On top of that, we cover perhaps the worst ending of the year on AAA TV as AAA continues to make their march towards an award winning year. Finally we scope out CMLL and their title situation, putting together our own tournaments for the titles, with different winners abounding for reasons you won't see many other companies come up with for potential champions. On this week's Lucha Talk, we help make sense of the craziest story in wrestling at the moment. We present you the information and details about La Familia Alvarado taking out their frustrations on Ultimo Guerrero's car. It's implications on the landscape of lucha libre now with two CMLL main-eventers and a possible "real-life" betrayer of Ultimo Guerrero. It makes up the bulk of the show but we also bring you the most complete coverage for news relating to Lucha Libre over the week. Aswell as full in depth reviews of CMLL and AAA's biggest shows of the week. Contact the trio on twitter @DylanZeroSky @therealfredo @LIGERFEVER
This week is a special 25th Anniversary of AAA edition of Lucha Talk, as we run down some of the most important legends of the company in their time, with everyone from Konnan to Perro Aguayo to Rey Mysterio Jr, even Latin Lover gets a mention or two, but where would AAA be without these guys & many more, with even lively discussion on some controversial choices & dissenting opinions to round out an enlightening foray into some of the company's most important players throughout time. The second half of the show is the usual rundown of this week in Lucha, with a spotlight being shown on the Taya vs Ayako Hamada street fight from AAA along with Soberano Jr. vs Rey Cometa Title match in CMLL, with some fun discussion involving the (potential) Lucha Libre World Cup to boot! This week on Lucha Talk, Fredo returns from his Cauliflower Alley Club break with fun stories about many guests he chatted with or saw make sppeches including Big Dave Meltzer, Tully Blanchard, the GLOW Girls, among others, and his take on last week's amazing mascotas match! After that we get into another sad Lucha death with one of Lucha's most prolific trainers as well as a veteran and current Trios champion in AAA, Gran Apache. Stories of his great work and him being a star of one of AAA's best & most beloved storylines. From there we talk about AAA as well as CMLL posting very underwhelming shows this week, providing the burn to viewers. (Though next week both shows have at least one promising match) The Crash however shined with their updated youtube page delivering a few strong matches shot with a unique camera angle that 1 of the 3 kinda liked, thankfully they go over all the fun brought forward by the Tijuana based group. Dragon Lee & Volador Jr. heading to Japan closes the show as the guys break down the odds for great matches, could one of the two win their block, is "The Man" trying to hold Méxicans? All are talked about on a PACKED edition of the show! Follow the Trio on Twitter and talk about Lucha, Méxican culture, Elisa Tudon, and anything you want @DylanZeroSky - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER
This week the Trios is down to a tag as Fredo is stuck in Vegas going to the Cauliflower Alley Club, and the remaining two round it out, for the first time ever it's just Dylan & LigerFever! (completing the proper triumvirate since both Dylan & Lige have missed a show in the past) Sad it was for such news that we had to lead off with as the legendary Brazo de Oro passed away Friday, so we each say a little bit about him and his career with one of the best & most influential Trios teams ever with Los Brazos! Then we talk about his son who wrestled in the main event match Friday and delivered an extremely heartfelt and memorable moment that had nothing to do with his wrestling. From there we go to the special Kids Day show featuring the heavily talked about mascots match in a match of the year candidate for FUN. Then a technical wrestling match of the year candidate happened as we go to Chairo 10, with Zack Sabre Jr. coming to México! Taking on a man very familiar with Brazo de Oro in Negro Navarro in a classic match. Finally we do to AAA who had quite an edition of Worldwide, and we take a little time to talk about Verano de Escandalo (card subject to change). Spread the word of the show everywhere social media is and talk to us about Lucha and everything else on Twitter @DylanZeroSky - @LIGERFEVER - @therealfredo
Another week of Lucha action, this time even more behind the scenes in the ring, as AAA & Impact came together in a press conference to announce some of their plans moving forward including AAA's International touring this year, and talent sharing with as of yet unannounced wrestlers agreed upon to appear between companies. Also on the American side of AAA's offices we touch on the rumors revolving around Penta El 0M (Pentagón Jr.) and his contract with LU. On the Lucha TV show side of things, we have a rare week where CMLL loses the battle with a show that we're unsure of if it was truly a Friday show or a Tuesday show in disguise. AAA sees the debut of Hijo del Vikingo and that's enough for Fredo. Of course, in between all this Dylan & Lige went over Sexy Star's boxing debut as they did watch. How did she do? Did she win on the Lucha Talk scorecards? Why was her opponent so short? Many questions, now and for her future. This week Lucha Talk focuses on the two main shows in Lucha Libre, CMLL Super Viernes & AAA Worldwide, with perhaps our most in depth show review ever of Super Viernes, running through many topics including: - The minis are going nowhere - The great La Copa Junior Block A match - Cuatrero's greatness and being one of the MVPs of not just the tournament but CMLL as a whole - The worst Hechicero performance ever that will never be talked about ever again by us - And our lead story, Niebla Roja's non-turn, and where this is going, what character he should have, and a bold Aniversario prediction from one co-host - Ultimo Guerrero & Atlantis: ONE MORE TIME And in between that show and a AAA show that was quite a mess, we briefly speak about Sexy Star's boxing debut, her opponent, and make predictions on the match. Plus Zack Sabre Jr. making his Méxican debut! As always talk to the Trios on Twitter about the show, Lucha Libre, and anything else you want: @DylanZeroSky @therealfredo @LIGERFEVER
This week on Lucha Talk, the show has a very special extended opening segment as the team reminisces about the career of the legendary Juárez Lucha Libre star Fishman. How he started, his names, his amazing mask, his rivalries and mask wins, his world touring, the end of his career and later life. It all gets covered. Sadly, the bad news doesn't stop there as we also discuss Joaquin Roldan's passing. His rise to prominence behind the scenes in AAA and his influence up to the later years. From there we go to Joaquin Roldan's former company, talking about the first show after Rey de Reyes, that Fredo defied the odds and returned again! (It might be the last week of that) The Crash had its big show, and we talk a little bit about that. A wild Cruiserweight match, a solid main event and an unfortunate DJZ injury. Finally CMLL had an excellent tournament this week with the Reyes del Aire, even with a surprise winner. It gets extended run along with a preview of next week's La Copa Jr. tournament, with the most random bottom of the barrel Luchadores around getting main show appearances and mixing it up with the future of the company. Predictions and a breakdown of the competitors follow. Lucha Talk returns again for the 29th straight week, covering all the Lucha that happened over the week in the shadow of WrestleMania Weekend. First off we reach the conclusion of the Rey de Reyes show from AAA with part 2 this week that overdelivered on all our expectations, Taya and Hamada doing well, the Triple Crown Title match and the Aero Star/Super Fly Apuestas match being 2 of AAA's best matches of the year. From there a brief rundown of Lucha Libre at Orlando this weekend including Volador Jr. making his ROH debut opposite Dragon Lee in a strong tag match, Sexy Star in Shimmer in a surprisingly nifty performance, and the former La Sombra losing in NXT as usual. The show closes out with a discussion of CMLL, their Friday Show, Matt Taven, and Niebla Roja getting turned on by the Guerreros. Follow the Trios on Twitter @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER and talk to us about anything in wrestling, including all the greatest Lucha. Another week in Lucha, another edition of the Lucha Talk podcast on the award-winning MLW Radio Network. This week the Trios goes over more talk on the Crash/Impact relationship with involvement from Pro Wrestling NOAH, contracts and who could conceivably go where from an in-ring perspective. From there the scene goes over to Impact's other partner, AAA and in particular part 1 of the big Rey de Reyes show featuring Argenis' big win, Hamada's return, & Pagano & Mesias being best friends now. The show closes up with CMLL and their latest solid Friday show including praise for two great Lightning matches. Follow the guys behind Lucha Talk on Twitter @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER and help grow Lucha Talk as well as Lucha Libre!
Lucha Talk is here for its biggest show in weeks! (Well, it's the same amount of time as usual just with more important stuff to talk about) Lucha Underground debuted on Netflix and its Méxican counterpart had one of its most notable shows in which a young star was solidified as the King of Kings in Lucha Libre, and our reaction to Lucha Talk favorite Argenis wins in a shocker to many. On top of that we talk about the creative changes in AAA and where it's going in the future, as well as the surprising and befuddling alliance with Impact Wrestling on top of Impact's association with The Crash (Dylan also tuned in to Impact and thought it was a lot better than last week with the Luchadores actually debuting) and the likelihood of it being successful. Then things close out with a review of a show that made at least 9 dollars as we all ordered it, in CMLL Homenaje a Dos Leyendas. Was the Pierroth/Diamante Azul main event the worst of all time as some predicted? Tune in to find out! Follow us on Twitter and let us know what you think of the show and your takes on all the Lucha topics: @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER and spread the word, keep things going and help grow both Lucha Libre & Lucha Talk!
Another week, another episode of Lucha Talk as the Trio hits the half-year mark of the show with a light week of Lucha Libre including: CMLL this Friday, and a last second preview of Dos Leyendas with predictions of the matches that matter and we still were unhappy with Yoshitatsu's performance even after he's gone. From there we hit up AAA and Dylan & Lige struggle to find out who is the real Vampiro character on AAA Worldwide, including a can't miss closing segment featuring Texano stumbling into Vampiro's janitor's closet. To close out the show we go over the relationship between The Crash, Impact Wrestling, & NOAH, with Fredo taking time to mention how much he hated Impact's commentary after giving it the chance he promised, then in the main event segment, Fredo & LigerFever talk about a pair of excellent matches and performances from the former Chairman of WCW LA Park, including what many are calling the Lucha MOTY against Rush. As usual follow the Trios Champions of Lucha Libre on Twitter @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER #Lucha #LAPark #DosLeyendas #TheCrash
This week the Trio returns with a lot of strange topics to put off having to talk about one of the worst main events anyone can remember in Lucha including Impact Wrestling bringing in a number of Lucha stars including La Rebelión's Garza Jr., Alberto El Patrón, & one of the OG3 of MLW, Konnan to make his return! From there Dylan & Lige go back to AAA Worldwide for a redux of the same main event we've seen a zillion times as well as a really good tag match. In addition we go over the winners from stage 1 of La Llave de la Gloria and who we think has the most potential. Then we go over the recent segment involving Conan O'Brien on his show in regards to Lucha Libre with the late night legend and his running buddy Andy Richter training in Lucha under their characters El Gallo Loco and El Bebe Malo respectively. How did they look in the ring? (Spoiler: Better than certain main eventers) Finally we finally tackle CMLL Friday as we talk about Yoshitatsu and if his performance was the worst ever seen in an Arena México ring and pity poor Volador Jr. for having to work with the Joker. (Dylan was running on empty for this episode for all sorts of reasons, apologies for any mispronounced words in Spanish or English or Coco!) Follow the Trios on Twitter @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER
A packed edition of Lucha Talk goes over all sorts of topics including: - More AAA Trouble (just like the title says) - On the flipside a good turnout for the first La Llave a La Gloria tryout. - AAA Worldwide & a Rey de Reyes Preview - La Rebelion & their new additions, + a full Crash breakdown - Alberto El Patrón & his press conferences, plus plans for FULL - A great CMLL Friday Show capped by an epic Main Event - A Homenaje a Dos Leyendas preview featuring the worst main event of all time??? Follow the Trios on twitter @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER
As always, Lucha Talk is back talking about all sorts of things going on in the Lucha Libre world in one of the more random weeks, but also perhaps the most mainstream weeks as well, with Luchadores gaining appearances on CNN, GQ, ESPN, & Conan O'Brien in the last week somehow. Dylan, Alfredo, & LigerFever break it all down. Also an extended breakdown of the controversy surrounding fire spots in Lucha Extrema after the Hijo de Sangre Chicana flaming table accident, including Dylan's failures with flash paper in his past life. (Although he still thinks it's safer than setting a table on fire) The show closes with full results and breakdown of the WWE México Title Tournament as voted on by YOU. Also the weekly Lucha shows get ran down, in the most literal way possible. Follow the Trios on Twitter @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER
The Lucha Talk podcast has the start of a very special episode as they start their quest of their version of a potential WWE tournament in México, raiding the Lucha scene. (Don't worry, CMLL will still have like 80 guys) On top of that, we give a rundown of Chavo Guerrero Sr./Chavo Classic's career as he passed away, go over a pretty fun episode of AAA Worldwide, a Parejas Increibles tournament from CMLL that Lige fell asleep during, and an incredible Maestro-style match from 4 amazing Lucha technicians. Lucha Talk returns with all 3 men of the Trios together again, talking about a lot of topics as the saga between AAA and its former talents continues, the saga between Pierroth & Diamante Azul continues, & the saga between Blue Demon and all sorts of people continues as the guys delve into topics including: - AAA's legal quests against Los Lucha Brothers - Zorro exiting AAA for The Crash - Lucha Underground's Return Date as well as getting on Netflix - Lucha Memes' Chairo8 - Luchadores/Luchadoras WrestleMania Weekend Announcements - CMLL comings and goings, including how we ended up with Pierroth & Diamante Azul as our main feud for Dos Leyendas - Torneo Increible de Parejas this week - Story Time with Carístico - Major Blue Demon Telenovela update, now with 50% more Black Wind Follow us all and message us on Twitter @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER & spread the word to keep supporting Lucha Talk & Lucha Libre!
A week after one of the biggest stories of the year in Lucha, Dylan returns for a less hectic week in Lucha, though probably an even more hectic show. Unfortunately, we weren't at full strength again as LigerFever was under the weather (though he was still integral to the show with his editing & tech skills) & didn't appear. Fredo "The Constant" Esparza & Dylan team up for a loose conversation about Lucha Libre & its goings on. - Updates on La Rebelión & their interviews since leaving AAA - The Crash's recent moves & Konnan's recent comments regarding CMLL - How hard it is to get TV in México & what the scene's like there - A minor ELITE update - An update on Lucha Memes Chairo8, card changes, VOD & general confusion - A return to form for CMLL's Friday show as we break it down and somehow delve into Ultimo Guerrero in depth, and an update on Lucha Retro - Waxing nostalgic about Super Astros and what went wrong - And finally a Blue Demon update as the Telenovela somehow gets even weirder and we again question the historical accuracy of this show Follow us all on Twitter, as we aim to return next week in full force: @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER
A show without Dylan due to some bizarre and unexpected technical difficulties that even the phone company couldn't help him on, Fredo & Liger Fever handle the load on this huge episode of Lucha Talk covering the AAA Exodus in-depth, FantasticaMania, and other stuff like the usual rundowns of weekly shows, and another brilliant update on the Blue Demon telenovela, and a lot more all on your way of episode 19 of Lucha Talk! Another week, another Lucha Talk. This time the Trios go in depth on Lucha Underground's last episode of the midseason before their break before an even more in-depth breakdown of LU's widely discussed issues of the current season including reaction to merchandising, storytelling, a potential move to Netflix and the Lucha itself. From there AAA proper in México is back with new episodes and there's some fun wrestling, mixed with a ridiculous turn and main event push, and somehow Dylan & Fredo break down who the best basketball player in AAA is after the Luchadores visited the Phoenix Suns for a day. CMLL puts on a boring show with a lack of Transformers and we talk about it, before running down the great Lucha Memes announcements and then the main event...a truly spectacular breakdown of the brand new Blue Demon Telenovela aptly titled "Blue Demon" that is must hear audio. Follow us on twitter @DylanZero0615 - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER Don't forget to check CultIcon's article on Lucha Underground as mentioned on the show: https://howtheyplay.com/individual-sports/LU-Promotion-of-Tomorrow And info on "Blue Demon": www.univision.com/series/blue-demon
Lucha Talk returns as always with the hombres talking a light week of news, but a great week of action with CMLL's Three Kings Day show living up to the hype as well as a true blue match of the year candidate in Tijuana that gets broken down in depth between Hechicero & Caifan. Lucha Underground returns as well with more goofy storylines and we still have no clue where Pentagón is and why Sexy Star keeps getting singles matches on the show and why the Técnicos seem to shoot themselves in the foot so much. That said, a light at the end of the tunnel comes in next week with the All Night Long announcement. In addition the FantasticaMania cards are ran down with some of our favorite matchups given. Plus Rayo de Jalisco Jr. is back in CMLL for some reason. Not to mention the BIG NEWS from the greatest promoter in pro wrestling history, as Lucha Memes dropped its announcement as promised and we have the reaction to it here. The 2nd in the two part promotion exclusive series airs this week as the regular Trios tributes the promotion of the week by expanding to an Atomícos as we welcome our first ever guest on Lucha Talk, the renowned Lucha expert and video maker, Highspots' biggest hockey fan, and explosive twitter personality, Rob Viper! The crew run down AAA from the beginning with interesting pit stops along the way including When Worlds Collide, the exoduses to WCW, a look at Promo Azteca, then the heyday of Los Vipers and a few years of epic angles and praise of Antonio Peña's vision and starmaking ability including a must-hear breakdown of Los Barrio Boys, Los Vipers, & Los Warriors. Konnan's rise to power in the mid-2000s and some of the promotion's more telenovela style angles back then, all the way to the downturn of the company in 2015 to today and a critical eye looking to the future of the company and its current roster, with Rob offering his take on if the TripleMania 2017 main event Apuestas match between Psycho Clown & Dr. Wagner Jr will actually take place. The usual rundown of the show takes a bit of a break this week as we debut part one of a special 2 part series covering the big modern day Lucha Libre companies, with this week's supercharged edition focusing on the oldest wrestling promotion in the entire world, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, CMLL. All sorts of fun tidbits and behind the scenes prospects of the modern day version of the company. Is Paco Alonso as bitter as people make him out to be? Why do Lucha Titles mean so little? Why are masks so important? What is Informa? Just who are the main eventers in CMLL and what are some of their backstories? A lot is covered on this mega sized edition of Lucha Talk from the intracies of the style, how the show is run, business successes and so much more. A highly important show to listen to if you're a new or casual fan of CMLL and want to get into it more and even longtime fans get the Trios' unique takes on the company and many of its top stars. (Sadly Leono nor Luciferno quite got an in depth breakdown) Keep an eye out for next week's show chronicling Arena México's competition, AAA. Follow us at @DylanZeroPS - @therealfredo - @LIGERFEVER for translations and assorted Lucha and wrestling related fun.
Lucha Talk continues its monumental run with the usual recaps of the weekly Lucha shows from Lucha Underground, AAA, & CMLL, as well as an extended look at the recent show from The Crash with questionable fancam work and even more questionable wrestling from Teddy Hart. The shocking Sexy Star Lucha Underground Title switch gets another spotlight again with booking that had everyone shaking their heads. CMLL gets a spotlight to close the show with the recent Bobybuilding Contest defying all the odds and getting an extended segment before discussion of the very cool Dynasty Tournament as well as future plans in the company, with news and notes around the world in Lucha closing out another wild week in Lucha Libre. Follow the guys on Twitter @DylanZeroPS @therealfredo @LIGERFEVER as well as keep US indy Luchador Gringo Loco in your thoughts as he suffered a heart attack after a match recently in Chicago. (He should be fine! But still. Heart Attack.)
A big week in Lucha comes in with a bang as the shocking winner of Aztec Warfare took the twitter world by storm. The Trios go over the Aztec Warfare match itself, highs, lows, and plants galore. But none topping the controversy surrounding Sexy Star and the reaction afterwards. The LT Crew has their take. Despite getting made to look like a geek yet again in LU, Pentagón Jr. has a strong week in AAA, capping off a solid main event with Dylan & Liger Fever getting a tad uncomfortable translating his raunchy (but awesome) promo. DTU announced its first iPPV with an amazing main event of Negro Casas vs. Flamita which sounds great! ...If it airs. Elite held its swan song which gets universally panned and laughed at by everyone up and down this card. At least they decided against airing the infamous Blue Demon Jr. episode. The king himself Ultimo Guerrero rules CMLL yet again, in a surprisingly fun Leyenda de Azul. Talk about the CMLL bodybuilding show and next week's Dinastia tournament closes out a packed Lucha Talk. Happy Thanksgiving! *Special note: If interested check out the brand new Lucha Talk Playlist on youtube if you want to see some of the best matches of the week in Lucha all in one place! - youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsRqe-vJk_uDTw7dHAc0ni-K8FQOURl9
The Trios champions of podcasting return through thick and thin to deliver another trés caidas of Lucha Talk. As always the crew goes through the weekly shows highlighted by a great Lucha Underground main event in Grave Consequences. Everyone gets other topics including but not limited to: - Máscara Dorada's emotional farewell to CMLL and where it ranks as one of the best moments of the year. - Elite's back! But maybe not for much longer... - What's the deal with Lucha Memes, powerbomb.tv & CMLL? - Who's gonna win Aztec Warfare? (Spoiler, a particularly bold host makes the case for Dario Cueto to exit the temple with Lucha Underground Aztec gold. You heard it here first. Also there's research into who Pindar is and the real life result may surprise you.) - The show closes with the most fired up segment in Lucha Talk history revolving around Sexy Star of all people and her issues with AAA and her name, AAA's handling of Sexy Star and Rey Fénix since their departures. Well wishes from all of the Lucha Talk family to Máscara Dorada in his future in WWE! Lucha Talk returns with an episode for the ages. (Make sure to listen to the end for a blooper that saw Chad Johnson get inexplicably referenced in the original start of the show...it's been a hard week, people.) And on that note we cover a match with a finish so dumb it embarrassed us to give publicity to, as between that, a great brawl between Black Terry & Hijo de Diablo which featured a mid-match purse theft, and powerbomb.tv's signings with Black Terry Jr. & Carxyus, the indie scene was busy this week and it's all here. Lucha Underground & AAA both had their weekly shows, and more love for Dario Cueto & Averno ensued, as well as talk of the debuting Máscara de Broncé as well as optimism for the coming weeks of Lucha Underground. CMLL closes things out this week with talk of Máscara Dorada as he nears the end of his run in México, as well as one of the best Lucha matches of the year with an amazing moment as the torch was passed between generations before our eyes with Hechicero winning his first title in CMLL. This week's episode revolves around much of the shows that took place this week, kicking off with the man of the hour and the upset of the year in CMLL as Valiente was crowned the Universal Champion. The Dia de Muertos shows and concept is analyzed, and the Trios tries to make sense of why Ultimo Guerrero gets after his meaningless main event win on Sunday. FantasticaMania lineups were announce and they're covered all the way. Moving on to Elite we saw one of their best overall episodes including an espectacular Trios match, and the shocking throwing down of his Volador Jr. Fanclub headband by one host, who aligns himself with Rey Escorpión, who gets much praise. AAA also has a surprisingly solid show this week that gets broken down in depth including Psycho Clown's "return" and smart angles to build up their Team Trump angle. Lucha Underground is ran down as always and no punches are pulled at the effort this week from Boyle Heights. All that and a roundtable discussion on the streaming services for wrestling and the effect and the role we think Lucha promotions will play coming off the news of RIOT getting picked up by powerbomb.tv as well as rumors of FloSlam looking into México for content, with big news seemingly on the horizon down the line that we look ahead and speculate on. #PorraReyEscorpión
Lucha Talk is back continuing in its record breaking streak of Lucha podcasts with a loaded show in which all 4 weekly shows in Lucha get ran down from the perspective of los hombres, with Lucha Underground, AAA Worldwide, CMLL on ClaroSports, and Elite all get ran down, with the prevailing opinion on 3 of the 4 shows that next week will be better. Not on Lucha Underground though as it's declared one of the best episodes of the season. (Outside of one performer being anointed as the Cibernetic Robot Ghost of Christmas Past of wrestling by a certain host) In other big news, there's an extensive breakdown of Rey Fénix's painful injury, and a spirited discussion of Jack Evans alleged firing by AAA, the fallout from it, and the unfortunate circumstances surrounding it. Rush & La Máscara to WWE rumors are fired up yet again and differing opinions shine through on the likelihood of Los Ingobernables reuniting. The main event of the show features the Volador Jr. fanclub convening as they discuss Volador's big win in his Block of the Universal tournament to set up the final of the tournament as Sky Team faces off to main event the Friday Dia de los Muertes show. Don't forget to rate, subscribe, & talk to us all on twitter! @DylanZeroPS @therealfredo @LIGERFEVER . Gracias, mis amigas y amigos.
Dylan, Fredo, and Raul return with all sorts of Lucha hijinks including kicking off with news on a La Parka impersonator that legit made headlines in México from his prison cell, with responses from original Parka LA Park and the current La Parka. Things go right to CMLL with the upset of the year in the Universal tournament and a mystery man in a new gimmick of Drone that got a wacky debut which leads with Ángel de Oro gets rave reviews in his ROH debut to the delight of one of the hosts. Lots of Heroes Inmortales talk follows on the AAA end including a disappointing lack of Argenis in the Copa Antonio Peña and an excellent ladder match. Lucha Underground follows with more love of Dario Cueto and Jack Evans and how we all knew he was a star right away. Elite talk closes things out and groans follow at Lucha cagematches. All sorts of news all around in between round out episodio de cinco of Lucha Talk!
Lucha Talk is back for episode cuatro, running down all the major topics of Lucha Libre, plus update on Alberto El Patrón's Ring Attire in the UK. ROH bringing in a Luchador for Glory by Honor, CMLL's embarrassing faux pas in it's Universal tournament, and the great Zeuxis' prospects after her recent WWE tryout. Lucha Underground gets full coverage after the show get called out by a listener (Unknown via DM that Dylan deleted) for being too harsh on the Boyle Heights crew. (And all 3 men praise this week's LU episode anyway) Things take an unexpected turn after expected ELITE madness with IWRG updating their youtube after years, and Dylan & Fredo offer insight into wacky indie Lucha gimmicks to close out a fun hour+ of the show. Also of note, as the title says, check out Raul/Liger Fever's new tumblr with his awesome interview translations, and help support him and the show with rating & subscribing Lucha Talk in support of the show and Lucha Libre! - ligerfever.tumblr.com
Dylan, Raul, & Fredo are back for episode tres of Lucha Talk, breaking down the Alberto El Patrón-less Heroes Inmortales results, including Dylan's misfire on Australian Suicide and how everyone else was right. From there we break down a so-so Lucha Underground with the highlight to one host being Dario Cueto's hug with Cortez Castro. CMLL comes up with the excellent rivalry between Volador Jr. & Cavernario and then a surprising twist with a breakdown of Niebla Roja, old En Busca de un Idolo episodes and how much we miss it, and many CMLL midcarders who have lost motivation. The show closes out with talk of Elite, Shocker's announcing abilities as well as his car and finally AAA Star Battle in Japan with Odo featuring a Triple Threat and a tag match that should be must watch. Not to mention in Lucha Libre outside of México, Dragon Lee faces Kamaitachi in ROH in a great match that both Dylan and Raul saw and break down to cap off a loaded and at times strange edition of the show, that could only end with a RobViper shoutout.
Lucha Talk's back with "The Lionel Richie of Lucha" Fredo Esparza, "Liger Fever" Raul Rodriguez, and "Peña Nieto's Worst Enemy" Dylan Harris in a return to form talking about Alberto El Patrón's leave of WWE, return to the main event scene of AAA, and a preview of AAA's Heroes Inmortales card, with the Trios then speculating on where LA Park could fit in. (With one of the 3 calling for Park to join Team Trump) After a brief foray into Gran Metalik/Máscara Dorada and his greatness, the team run down the episode of Lucha Underground with equal parts praise of PJ Black & lament of Dragon Azteca Jr.'s opponents list in LU and Matt Striker irritating everyone yet again. Finally los hombres break down CMLL's recent history lesson with its Leyendas show, the greatness of Reyes del Aire ending with Volador vs Cavernario and the potential fun of Volador vs Mistico. Afterwards a breakdown of the CMLL & ROH relationship, how underrated Matt Taven is, who gets helped more and potential people ROH should look at. With a grand finale of the insanity that is ELITE, it's a hectic and action packed show again.
Lucha Talk has arrived, and the Trios is here on week 1 breaking down the biggest shows in the Lucha calendar! First TripleMania comes up with people who have left the company already in Taurus & Hijo de Pirata Morgan, a main event that a brave soul speaks out in favor of, but unfortunately English speaking commentary nobody would speak out for. More questions arise about what exactly "OGT" means as well as a confusing storyline centered around Donald Trump in México, and in fact Fredo sets the record straight on how hated the Méxican President is in comparison. A quick detour to Lucha Underground follows with talk of the first episode of the new season, and the mismanagement of Pentagón Jr. in both México as well as LU as Dylan especially laments the change in attire for Pentagón Dark started at Ultima Lucha Dos. CMLL Aniversario comes up next with talk of how over the exotíco Máximo is, Carístico hijinks, Máscara Dorada's greatness. and a great main event overshadowed by an incredible Rush promo & swerve and where we hope it goes. Finally the Trios goes into an in-depth breakdown what many consider the match of the year in wrestling with Canis Lupus taking on the son of the legendary Negro Navarro, Trauma I, why it was so great, as well as the unforgettable post-match available on the TV version. Follow los hombres on twitter and keep the conversation going @DylanZeroPS - @therealfredo (as well as Fredo's great site Luchaworld.com ) - @LIGERFEVER Also check out thecubsfan's youtube for every bit of Lucha going on, including the Canis Lupus/Trauma I epic (+LuchaTV has the full match but the tv version features the emotional post-match) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko2wNEo4k60
