David's rise and fall in the Bible is a captivating narrative of triumph and tragedy. Initially anointed by the prophet Samuel, David's ascent began when he defeated Goliath, earning renown and favor with King Saul. As a valiant warrior and skilled leader, he secured victories, united Israel, and established Jerusalem as its capital. David's reign epitomized prosperity and divine favor, symbolized by the covenant with God promising an eternal dynasty. However, his fall was marked by moral lapses, notably his affair with Bathsheba and orchestrating the death of her husband, Uriah. Despite repentance, consequences haunted David, including the rebellion of his own son, Absalom, leading to turmoil and sorrow. Yet, amidst the turbulence, David's legacy endures, characterized by faith, poetic psalms, and the enduring promise of redemption.

When Alecia Hill met her late husband, she believed she had met the man of her dreams. After a few passionate years of dating, the pair married. A few months into the marriage, however, Hill’s husband lost his libido and the passion vanished. For the remainder of her marriage, the couple did not have sex.
Nonetheless, Hill stayed in the marriage. The union lasted 12 years, ending not in divorce but, rather, with the passing of Hill’s husband. Today, Hill calls her marriage successful and fulfilling, and will tell listeners: * She first reacted to her husband’s lack of sexual interest by searching for a paramour who didn’t exist.
Hill felt the urge to look outside her marriage for sexual satisfaction but resisted the temptation.
Pride can get in the way of a couple talking about the lack of sexual intimacy. Hill’s husband was proud, and more than five years passed before he was willing to talk about the issue.
Communication is key to making such marriages work.
Another key is to find a common goal that a couple can work together to achieve.
Professional help is sometimes needed.
And so much more.

But what are jealousy and rivalry? Jealousy generally refers to the thoughts or feelings of insecurity, fear, and concern over a relative lack of possessions or safety. Jealousy can consist of one or more emotions such as anger, resentment, inadequacy, helplessness, or disgust. Wikipedia Rivalry is the state of two people or groups engaging in a lasting competitive relationship. Rivalry is the "against each other" spirit between two competing sides. The relationship itself may also be called "a rivalry", and each participant or side is a rival to the other. The term, “peculiar,” in the common language of today means, “strange; queer; odd,” or it can also mean, “uncommon; unusual,” or even, “distinctive in nature or character from others” (Random House Webster’s College Dictionary). Did Jesus die to make us “strange” or “queer” or “odd”? Definitely not. In a sense, He did die to make us uncommon or different from those in the world around us and He did die to give us a distinctive character from others. All of this may be gleaned from many passages of Scripture (cf. Gal. 1:4; 1 John 2:15-17; James 1:27; 4:4).
