Jeremy Harrison is the Founder and CEO of OneTable Strategy, which is based in Ashland and has a 2nd location in Tiffin. The company got started as "Spire" around 20 years ago and this summer announce the name change to "OneTable Strategy. The goal of OneTable Strategy is to help businesses grow. Eric Thiel is the CEO of Cabinet Restylers in Ashland. The company got started back Eric's father back in the late 1960's (1967). His business manufactures kitchen cabinets and cabinet doors and ships them all across the United States. Brice Eyerly is the Executive Director of CHAP, Community Health Access Project. The organization was formed in 1999 and helps people in several area counties: Richland, Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox and Morrow.
CHAP helps individuals remove risks like food insecurity, lack of housing and transportation by linking people with community health workers.

Jeff Franks is the president of JBF Distribution, which is based in Wooster, Ohio. The company was started by his father back in 2011 and distributes plastic products for the agriculture industry, mainly for hay and straw production. Matthew Scruggs is the new Chief Executive Officer of the North End Community Improvement Collaborative. Scruggs was named CEO of NECIC in May of 2025 and shares how excited he is for the role and to help the community. Matthew was born near Pittsburgh, and has lived all over the country in working in the hospitality industry. Dr. Michael Benson is the Executive Director of the Richland Academy of the Arts in downtown Mansfield. He is heading into his 3rd year in the role for the organization, which started in 1991. Benson shares about all of the wonderful programs they offer at the Richland Academy of Arts, which draws students from multiple counties in the area. The Academy is currently underway with a capital campaign to raise funds for a big renovation of their buildings. Kevin Long is the plant manager for Step2 in Perrysville, Ohio. The company is a toy manufacturer, and well known for children's toys, but also offers many other products like wagons, cars, play kitchens chairs and tables. Step2 was started 35 years ago in Streetsboro, Ohio, which is where the headquarters are located. They also have a facility in Warren Ohio. All of their manufacturing is done in Ohio and they ship products all over the globe.The Perrysville location has been open for 30 years. Jim Cutright is the President and CEO of the Ashland County Community Foundation. The organization now in their 30th year making grants and scholarships to benefit the Ashland community. Jim, better known as "Cutty", is in his 13th year in the role and has been living in Ashland for the last 45 years. Cutright was born in Mansfield, attended Plymouth High School and is a graduate of the University of Akron. The Community Foundation is located on College Ave, near Ashland University and has a great staff that helps improve the quality of life in the local community. Andrew Schraedly is co-owner of Charles Mill Marina and Pleasant Hill Marina in North Central Ohio. Charles Mill is on the east side of Mansfield and Pleasant Hill Marina is located in Perrysville. Each location docks about 300 boats, mostly pontoon boats and they offer rentals, along with sales and service.
Andrew's father and grandfather started the business back in 1972 Andrew has been co-owner for the last 5 years, but has spent many years working in the family company. Joe Reep is the president of Comfort Control, which is a full service heating, air conditioning, plumbing and fireplace contractor. The company was started in 1980 by Joe's parents, Jeff and Joy, and is based out of Ashland, plus a 2nd location in Wellington. Comfort Control has close to 40 staff members and their service area is roughly a 40 or 45 mile radius from Ashland. The business has customers in Ashland, Richland, Knox, Lorain and Wayne Counties. Nate Shultz is the CEO of the Spreng-Smith Insurance Agency, which is based in Ashland. The company is a full service independent insurance agency and got started in 1950. 2025 is a big year as they are celebrating their 75th anniversary. They offer commercial insurance, along with home, auto, life and health insurance too. Nate has been the CEO since 2016 and overall has been with the company in 1999. Spreng-Smith Insurance has clients in Ashland and across Ohio, along with multiple states from New York to Nebraska.
Julie Schwartz is the executive director of the Ohio Bird Sanctuary, which is located on Orweiler road in Mansfield. The organization is a wildlife rehabilitation center, as they take in 500 to 600 birds a year, along with education for area schools. Annually, 12,000 people make their way through the Ohio Bird Sanctuary, which got started 37 years ago and has a tree house classroom and hiking trails. Jeff Downs is the president of MHS Industrial Supply in Mansfield. The company, located near the airport in the industrial park on Sawyer Parkway, is family owned and is a distributor of Industrial supplies to businesses in a 40 mile radius. MHS got started back in 1940 and helps local manufacturers keep going with products and services like sandpaper, nuts, bolts, water, safety supplies, boots and more. Brian Hawk is the owner of FreshAire CPAP & Supplies, LLC, which is based out of Wooster. DeLee Powell is the president of Baker's Collison, Glass, and Service Centers, which is located on Fifth Ave in Mansfield. The company was started by DeLee's parents in 1953 and it has continued to grow over the years. DeLee bought the business in 2008 and they provide basically everything from collision repair to brakes, A/C and more. Baker's even has a complete glass center at their location. Robin Ganzert, Ph.D., serves as president and CEO of American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization and the first to serve animals, whenever and wherever they are in need of rescue, shelter or protection.
She is the executive producer of the acclaimed documentary, Escape from Extinction, narrated by Dame Helen Mirren, and its follow-up, Escape from Extinction Rewilding, which features narration by Oscar winner Meryl Streep. She is also the executive producer of the annual American Humane Hero Dog Awards which aired for ten years on Hallmark Channel and most recently aired on A&E and fyi networks.
Additionally, she is the author of The Humane Table: Cooking with Compassion, Mission
Metamorphosis and Animal Stars. Her next book, Escape from Extinction, is set to come out in
2025. Dr. Ganzert serves on the board of Loro Parque Foundation, the Lois Pope LIFE Foundation
and is a member of The Explorers Club, the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce Trustee Program,
and the International Women’s Forum. She has been awarded the prestigious Gorilla Prize by
world-renowned zoological organization Loro Parque for her efforts in conservation.
Dr. Ganzert is frequently highlighted in prominent national news and media platforms as an
authoritative advocate for animals. In the recent season, she made appearances on shows like
Good Morning America, Fox & Friends, Fox News Saturday Night, and America’s Newsroom,

missions to help the animal victims of catastrophic disasters from Superstorm Sandy to
Hurricanes Harvey and Ian; creating a groundbreaking clinical trial documenting the efficacy of
therapy dogs in helping childhood cancer patients; founding the bipartisan Congressional Caucus
for the Humane Bond; and, securing a major legislative victory with the passage of language in the

Dr. Ganzert holds a B.S. in Business & Accounting, an MBA and a Ph.D. She previously served
as the vice chair of the governing board of the National ALS Association. Prior to her appointment
at American Humane, Dr. Ganzert directed philanthropic services and charitable giving at The Pew
Charitable Trusts and Wachovia Wealth Management.
Dr. Ganzert resides in South Florida and Washington D.C. with her beloved cats and dogs and
enjoys spending time with her three wonderful children.
Terri Wood is the co-founder, and CEO of Hot Shots Shooting Center. The company was established in April of 2024, and is located on Baney Road in Ashland. Terri ,and her business partner, also own and run Classy Chassis in Ashland. Hot Shots has 4 indoor ranges, and offers indoor simulation shooting ranges. Wood said, they offer education and training for the public, all ages and skill levels, plus law enforcement. The facility can also host private events and is open Tuesday through Saturday. Dawn Wisdom is the board president, and interim director of the Raemelton Equestrian Center. The organization is a 501(c3) non-profit organization that was started back in 1995 and is located on Trimble Road in Mansfield. There are 17 horses at Raemelton, which has students that range in age from 2 years old to adults, and serves 130 individuals per week. Michele Giess is the Superintendent of Richland Newhope. The organization started back in the 1960's and supports individuals in Richland County who have a developmental disability. They work with other partners in the community and families to support the individual, along with helping them access other services. Michele has been with Richland Newhope for 35 years, and has been Superintendent for 7 years. The organization in total has around 200 staff members.

Colleen Rice is the executive director of the Domestic Violence Shelter, serving Richland County. Rice has been in the role for just over a year, starting in August of 2023. The organization started in the late 1970's and has a staff of around 26, some part-time and full-time. In 2023, the organization provided over 7,500 nights of shelter to adults and children, who needed a safe place to stay. Brady Groves is the director of the Milliron Foundation. The organization has been around for many years, which was established by Grant Milliron. Grant was a local business owner and philanthropist, which donated to help so many local organizations in Richland County to help with fire stations, schools etc. Groves shares more about the Milliron Foundation, and Grant's work to help improve the lives of local residents, on the podcast.
Simon Clark is the head of school at Discovery School in Mansfield. Simon was born in the U.K. and first moved to the US in 2006 to teach in North Carolina. He has caught in various states, and other countries, before coming to Ohio and Discovery School in 2018. ANNOUNCEMENT: Leadership Transition at NECIC
The NECIC Board of Directors is announcing an important leadership transition at the North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC). After eighteen years of dedicated service, Deanna West-Torrence will step down from her role as CEO and assume the title of Founder. Deanna has been a driving force behind NECIC since its inception in 2006 and her legacy in the North End community is profound. A longtime resident and community leader, she has dedicated her life to improving the quality of life and economic landscape of the North End.
Her journey with NECIC began with a vision of a resident driven plan to address the numerous challenges faced by the neighborhood. Having served on Mansfield City Council as the Fifth Ward council representative, she recognized that there was no comprehensive plan that addressed the issues residents wanted solved. As early as 2005, following her council service, Deanna was hired under former Mayor Lydia Reid, to be the Director of the city’s Department of Regional Community Advancement (formerly the Neighborhood Youth Corps). It was then that she began conversations with the then Fran and Warren Rupp Foundation and they suggested convening a group of residents and community leaders to address the challenges faced by the neighborhood. Under her leadership, NECIC has become a cornerstone of community development, empowering residents and fostering sustainable growth. The Community Economic Development plan was the first of its kind, laying the groundwork for future community planning efforts such as Mansfield Rising that also encompassed parts of the North End. Under Deanna’s leadership, the organization has delivered three iterations of the Community Economic Development Plan and has accomplished many of the goals of the program through its programming that has grown to include the African American Leadership Initiative, neighborhood small grants, blight elimination projects, elder and youth programming, civic engagement programs, housing related services, small and minority business development, an alternative staffing agency, community garden grants program, a teaching garden, and urban farming. All of these efforts were part of fulfilling the residents’ wishes and building on the assets available. Most recently, the organization launched an effort to build a Community Impact Center which is a long-term goal that will provide healthcare, mental health arts, education, recreation, and office space to several partner agencies who have come together to impact the community, even beyond the neighborhood.
Deanna recently relocated to San Diego to be with her family, including her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Although she is stepping back from her role as CEO, she will continue to provide her invaluable wisdom and guidance to NECIC as its Founder. In this role Deanna will focus on strategic mentorship of the incoming CEO, program development and innovation, managing special projects, and supporting grant writing and fund development efforts. This role allows Deanna to leverage her deep institutional knowledge and community connections to ensure NECIC's ongoing growth and success while empowering the new CEO to lead independently.
We are also pleased to announce that Tony Chinni, our current Research and Development Manager and the longest-serving staff member at NECIC, will be stepping into the role of Interim CEO. Tony joined NECIC in 2007 as its first intern, even before the doors were officially open. He has played a critical role in helping Deanna establish the organization and has been at the forefront of our community development planning efforts ever since. Tony has served as the CommunityDevelopment Manager, Housing Coordinator, and most recently its Research and Development Manager.
Born and raised in Mansfield, Tony graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1994 and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in European History from The Ohio State University in 2007. Throughout his time at NECIC, Tony has been the primary author of the North End’s Community Economic Development Plans, the key documents that have guided our work in the community. He is currently leading the latest update to this plan, ensuring that our efforts continue to reflect the needs and aspirations of North End residents.
“As I step into this role, I am deeply honored and humbled to continue the incredible work that Deanna and I dedicated ourselves to over the past seventeen years,” Tony Chinni stated. “Deanna has not only been a mentor but also a dear friend, whose leadership and vision have profoundly shaped this organization, this community, and me personally. Together with our incredible team, we’ve worked tirelessly to strengthen our community, and I am committed to upholding the values and progress we’ve achieved. I look forward to leading this agency with the same passion and dedication that Deanna has instilled in me, as we continue to foster economic growth and opportunity for the North End and beyond.”

From our committed investors and donors, strategic partners, amazing staff and boards since 2007, we have been able be incredibly impactful in our work. Tony has always been a critical part of our success since his days as NECIC’s first intern. Supporting him during his tenure as Interim CEO will be an honor, and I am grateful to remain on board to continue working for him with the same level of dedication and commitment that he has demonstrated for me since the first day he walked through the door. I am thrilled to see him share his incredible institutional knowledge and talent in this new way, and I am confident in his leadership to keep advancing our mission. The transition process for hiring a permanent CEO officially ends with the goal of having a new CEO in place by July 1, 2025. NECIC’s Board of Directors are forming a Transition Committee, have engaged a consultant specializing in nonprofit executive searches and capacity building that will also support our staff development during this time. This plan emphasizes a smooth leadership transition while ensuring that NECIC’s mission and vision continue to thrive under new leadership.

Primrose Retirement Community is located on Millsboro road in Mansfield. Primrose, which has 82 units and 14 villas, opened in 2007 and offers independent and assisted living to seniors in the community. Dennis Riggans is the owner and CEO of Aire Serv. The HVAC company, which handles refrigeration, heating and cooling for residential and light commercial, is located on Illinois Ave South in Mansfield. Aire Serv has been in operation since 2014 and serves Richland, Ashland, Morrow, Marion, Huron and as far south as Licking county.

MANSFIELD, Ohio The Ohio State University has selected Jason Opal as its next dean and director of The Ohio State University at Mansfield, effective Aug. 15. Opal currently serves as associate dean of graduate studies in the Faculty of Arts at McGill University, one of Canada’s leading public research institutions. A scholar and historian of early America and infectious diseases, he is a professor in McGill’s Department of History and Classics with 20 years of academic experience.
At Ohio State Mansfield, Opal will lead efforts to extend and amplify the university’s commitment to student success, innovation in teaching and learning, research opportunities and community engagement.“
Jason is an experienced leader who is passionate about improving the student experience,” said Ryan J. Schmiesing, senior vice provost for external engagement. “I look forward to collaborating with him as our regional campuses continue to engage with stakeholders across the state to identify opportunities, enhance student outcomes and fulfill workforce needs.
”In addition to his scholarship, Opal will bring extensive administrative experience to the Mansfield campus. In his role as associate dean at McGill, Opal is responsible for overseeing graduate programs and improving the student experience for McGill’s largest academic unit. Before joining the dean’s office, Opal served as chair of the Department of History and Classics, the largest department in the Faculty of Arts. Before joining McGill in 2009, he was an assistant professor at Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
“The Mansfield campus combines all the good things of a small campus with all the benefits and resources of a powerhouse university,” said Opal. “That’s a rare combination, and I wanted to be a part of it.”
Ohio State Mansfield is a thriving model for sustainability, experiential education, and hands-on research. The campus has a 20-acre sugar bush for maple syrup production; vernal pools, pine plantations, wetlands and stream heads; and an EcoLab in collaboration with the School of Environment and Natural Resources.
More than 1,500 first-year Ohio State students start their academic journeys on a regional campus. Students can complete the first one to three years of any of Ohio State’s 200-plus majors on the Mansfield campus before transitioning to the Columbus campus to complete their degree. Twelve majors can be completed at Ohio State Mansfield.
Opal also looks forward to being part of the Mansfield community and serving in Ohio State Mansfield’s smaller-campus environment, known for its strong faculty-student connections and holistic student support.
“My first teaching job was at such a campus, and I love the creative interactions and supportive feel that those kinds of schools can provide,” said Opal. “The faculty and staff at Mansfield are passionate about their students, their writing and their projects. My goal will be to share that enthusiasm and to enable the faculty, staff and students to flourish.”
Opal earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and his master’s and doctoral degrees from Brandeis University. He has published or edited three books, written numerous scholarly articles and chapters, and been tapped by American, Canadian and French radio and TV networks to provide historical clarity to pressing issues.“We are grateful for all who supported the search, including the search advisory committee, chaired by David Horn, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences,” said Karla Zadnik, interim executive vice president and provost. “We are also especially appreciative of Eric Anderman and his dedicated service as interim dean and director of Ohio State Mansfield over the past two years.”
Myles Parsons is the Executive Director of Wayfinders Ohio, former known as the Harmony House in downtown Mansfield. The temporary shelter assists folks who are homeless or are in danger of becoming homeless. The shelter, which can hold 58 people and has two floors, helped over 620 people in 2023. Dr. Melissa McRae is the CEO of Vitality Natural Wellness, which has two locations in Mansfield and Powell. The company was started back in 2007 in Mansfield and is now located on Lexington Avenue in town. Vitality Natural Wellness focuses on many things like gut health, hormone heath, Thyroid and stress management.

Matt Weekley is the owner of Weekley Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram in Butler. The dealership has been around for over 100 years and was started by Matt's grandfather (1921). Weekley's is the oldest Chrysler dealer in the state of Ohio and the 6th oldest in the United States. Kris Knapp is the new mayor of the city of Ontario. ASHLAND, Ohio – Jon Parrish Peede (pronounced PEE-dee), former chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, has been selected as the next president of Ashland University and Ashland Theological Seminary. The AU Board of Trustees unanimously approved Peede’s appointment following a thorough search process conducted by a presidential search committee that included trustees, alumni, faculty, staff and a student representative. Peede will begin his role as president on June 1, 2024.
With more than 25 years in leadership positions in higher education and federal agencies, Peede brings a diverse set of experiences to Ashland. He has been a faculty member, fundraiser, public speaker, fiscally sound manager and strategic communicator. He is a proven consensus builder and thoughtful leader who develops relationships with a variety of stakeholders to achieve common goals.
Peede also maintains a value system that is in alignment with Ashland’s vision. In addition to being a champion for the liberal arts, he clearly grasps the value of the university’s graduate and professional programs. He believes that improved access to education, civil discourse and intellectual diversity of thought on campus, experiential learning opportunities for students and shared governance are all markers of institutional excellence.“

”Peede’s career has spanned six institutions, and his impressive credentials are headlined by a term as chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities in Washington, D.C. He led the agency from July 2017 to January 2021. The NEH chairman position is presidentially nominated and Senate confirmed—Peede was unanimously confirmed within seven weeks of nomination, an example of the bipartisan support he received.
As NEH chairman, Peede had sole authority of awarding approximately 1,000 annual grants and managed a $237 million annual budget and 170-person full-time staff. He awarded $500 million in support of liberal arts education, undergraduate and graduate curriculum innovation, museum and library programming, documentary films and multimedia works, cultural infrastructure projects and humanities scholarship.
“I am honored to serve the Ashland students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees and supporters. I admire the university’s steadfast commitment to its Christian heritage, liberal arts core, graduate programs and high teaching standards,” said Peede. “I look forward to building upon the momentum of Dr. Campo’s administration. ”As a high-ranking government official focused on public policy on the liberal arts, Peede spoke at dozens of campuses about the current direction of higher education. He partnered with leading academic bodies and private foundations to create innovative solutions, such as the “Cornerstone: Learning for Living” project with the Teagle Foundation. Inspired by a Purdue University program, Cornerstone reimagines the general education curriculum to develop students’ communication and creative thinking skills and broaden their perspective on the world.
Peede’s appointment is the culmination of a search that began last fall, following Carlos Campo’s decision to become the CEO of the Museum of the Bible after nine years leading AU. Peede emerged from a pool of more than 60 highly qualified applicants for “his years of service in higher education, his creative leadership and academic acumen and his fundraising experience over his 25-year career,” according to Steven Cole, an AU board member and co-chair of the search committee.
Paul McKnight, the other co-chair of the search committee, added that “Peede had researched AU the most and presented a full slate of ideas for the future.
”While having spent his life in the South and on the East Coast, Peede is not a stranger to Ashland University. He served as a visiting faculty member of AU’s acclaimed MFA in Creative Writing program, and he has spoken in Ohio at numerous public events.
“Whether speaking with a conservative Ashbrook scholar at a congressional event or a progressive novelist on your campus, I found the same foundational beliefs, namely a firm commitment to intellectual rigor, freedom of expression and mutual respect,” Peede recalled.
Peede is currently an educational consultant and a faculty member in the department of English and foreign languages at Mississippi Valley State University, a historically Black college and university. Since 2022, he has been co-director of the American Civics Project, which provides K-12 educators with resources and professional development opportunities.
Peede’s professional career has also included time at the University of Virginia where he was the publisher of the award-winning “Virginia Quarterly Review,” a national journal of literature and discussion. At the National Endowment for the Arts, he served as director of “Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience,” director of literature grants and counselor to then-NEA chairman Dana Gioia. At Millsaps College, Peede was the director of communications, and at Mercer University Press he edited academic books. A scholar of southern literature, he is co-editor of the essay collection “Inside the Church of Flannery O’Connor: Sacrament, Sacramental, and the Sacred in Her Fiction.
”Originally from Brandon, Miss., Peede’s passion for education and literature led him to Vanderbilt University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English. He also holds a master’s degree in Southern studies from the University of Mississippi and will complete a doctorate in English pedagogy at Murray State University in May 2025. Of note, Peede is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and American Mensa.
Peede, 55, is married to Rev. Nancy Hollomon-Peede, who has been a spiritual director and minister for various denominations and churches during her 35-year career in ministry. She also served as a chaplain at Harvard University. They have a daughter, Somerset, who is pursuing a postgraduate viola performance degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Australia.

MANSFIELD - Brady Groves has announced his retirement as president of the Richland County Foundation after serving 13 years in that position. The RCF Board of Trustees has named Senior Community Investment Officer Allie Watson as the incoming president at the organization.
Watson will become president on April 16.
“We believe that Allie’s leadership will not only sustain but elevate the Foundation’s mission. She brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the community,” said Hiner.
Watson has been with the Foundation since 2012 facilitating grants and supporting nonprofit organizations. Watson helped to create the Osborne Meese Academy, a capacity building workshop for nonprofit organizations and Mansfield Rising, an investment plan for the Central Business District. Successes of the plan include upgrades to the city’s main thoroughfares, a community branding campaign, creation of public art, facade improvements to downtown businesses, free public Wi-Fi, and free outdoor movies.
“I am excited to lead such an exceptional organization that contributes in a significant way to the betterment of our community. In every corner of our county, RCF has touched individuals, neighborhoods, and communities in some way,” said Watson.
Watson is a native of Mansfield and has a strong commitment to the Foundation’s mission which is to improve the quality of life in Richland County through strategic philanthropy and community leadership.
Watson graduated from St. Peter’s High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master of Science degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Jason Bammann was sworn-in on Friday, March 22nd, as Mansfield Police Chief.
Mansfield, OH—Mayor Jodie Perry is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason M. Bammann as Chief of Police for the City of Mansfield. Bammann replaces Chief Keith Porch who was appointed Safety Service Director on February 28th.
Chief Bammann began his career with the Mansfield Police Department in August 1999 as a Patrol Officer in the Community Services Bureau on both the afternoon and night watch patrol shifts. He was promoted to Sergeant in September 2014 supervising the Traffic Section before returning to Patrol. Bammann was then promoted to Lieutenant in February 2018 and was assigned to the Administrative Section where he began working with grants, supervised the 911 Communications Center and the Drone Unit, and served as the department’s Incident Commander. In December of 2019, Jason was reassigned as the METRICH Task-Force Commander, and in June 2021 he was promoted to Assistant Chief helping to oversee the entire agency including Dispatch and Records.
Jason is a lifelong resident of Richland County graduating from Madison High School in 1992. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice & Corrections in 2017 and completed his Master of Public Administration in 2019. He has been married to his wife Stephanie since 1996 and has two children.
“Chief Bammann is a fantastic leader who will continue to take the Mansfield Police Department into the future with strong respect and confidence,” said Mayor Perry. “I am excited for this next chapter and eager to work with him to continue our focus on improving safety.”

Rollie Harper, who is Mansfield's new law director, was elected in November of 2023 and took office in January of 2024. Keith Porch was recently named Mansfield's Safety Service Director at the end of February of 2024. Porch retired after 30 years in law enforcement, 25 in total with Mansfield Police, and the last 5, as Chief. Keith, also spent 5 years working for the Richland County Sheriff's Office. Doug Cooper is the founder and owner of Goldberry Roasting Company. The business has two locations, Ashland on Franklin Ave and the other, on the Oberlin College Campus. Doug founded the business back in 2010 and they have grown over the last 14 years. Cooper said, they sold coffee to people in 43 states in 2023 and roast coffee beans from all over the world. ”Glass has been the director of the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and part of the ATS faculty since 2018. She possesses almost 20 years of clinical experience in various settings, including a school system, private practice and professional advocacy. She believes in incorporating faith into the counseling experience and her studies examine how religiosity positively impacts the daily stressors of life.
“Dr. Glass has proven herself as a compassionate, visionary leader,” stated AU President Carlos Campo. “Her experience, integrity and collaborative, godly approach will help our seminary continue to have a positive impact on the world.
”Glass has experience in counseling children and adolescents, marriage counseling, case conceptualization, supervision, ethics, multicultural counseling, group counseling and diagnosis. She has collaborated with law enforcement, school administration, educators, medical professionals and social service agencies to provide the best possible care for clients.
Glass holds three degrees from Kent State University, a bachelor’s in biology, a master’s in community counseling and a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision.
Glass’ vision for ATS is to continue its legacy of being a place where people begin to answer their call as they learn and also a place of community and a key partner in their spiritual formation. She wants to prepare students to advocate for mental health as a vital component in the success of our society.

The ATS prepares students to be leaders and counselors in a wide variety of ministry and professional settings by offering a range of flexible degree programs. There are eight master’s degree programs to choose from and a doctor of ministry, as well as certificate programs in theological studies.
