Look At My Records Live! is a freeform radio program that showcases an eclectic variety of music both old and new, with a strong emphasis on the local music scene. Host Tom Gallo conducts candid interviews with area bands and asks them to curate a playlist from his very own record collection. What typically results is an in depth conversation that unveils influences, past experiences, plenty of nostalgia, and even the occasional mutual fawning. You can also catch the occasional live in studio performance and hear special recorded performances from “The McKenzie Tapes” vault, which contains a plethora of live performance at various NYC venues over the course of the last 40 years.
The November 30th edition of Look At My Records! features a chat with Jess Adams and Jannek Zechner. The songwriting duo just released their latest single, "LUIH," and are prepping for the release of their debut full-length, "Riverstone." It's due out in February! Tune in to hear all about it. November 9th marked the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and Tom was thrilled to chat with Berlin-based musician and visual artist, Mark Fernyhough! Tune in to hear all about Mark's music, including his latest single, “Divided Cities,” which encompasses themes of division, Brexit, and The Berlin Wall. Plus, some fun stories about his upbringing in a haunted house, Mark's relationship with Brett Anderson of the legendary Brit-pop band Suede, and his experiences in his adopted home of Berlin.

The February 16th edition of Look At My Records! is the first in series of episodes previewing the upcoming New Colossus Festival. This episode features the Brooklyn noise-rock duo, Russian Baths! The band released their excellent EP, “Penance” last year and are slated to play The Bowery Electric on March 9th as part of the New Colossus Festival. We chatted all about the evolution of their sound, which progressed from wanting to sound like Yo La Tengo to kind of sounding like a shoegaze/Big Black hybrid.
The band is heading to SXSW next month and have plans to release a full length in 2019, so keep your eye on this duo!

On the August 11th edition of Look At My Records!, Chicago's Clearance stopped by the Radio Free Brooklyn studios to chat all about their brand new record, "At Your Leisure." The band talked at length about the recording process behind their latest release, working with engineer Dave Vettraino, their origins, the Chicago music scene, and many other fun topics. Clearance picked some very fine tunes from Tom's record collection, including one of his all-time favorites, "Only Life" by The Feelies.
Clearance are currently wrapping up their August tour with gigs in Detroit on August 16th and Grand Rapids on August 17th, so go see them live!
