Saul and David were real people. They had real fears, real anxieties, real insecurities...just like you and me!
Join me as we take about 20 minutes each morning to dive deeply into the lives of these two deeply flawed men. Rather than just reading their stories for facts and information, we will slow down enough to try to feel their experiences alongside of them. Instead of simply judging or celebrating them, we'll attempt to empathize with them.
Maybe we'll learn a thing or two about ourselves along the way!

Today, Samuel gives his farewell speech to the nation of Israel. We discuss the difference between "being afraid" and "fearing the Lord".
Today, Saul is empowered by the Lord and proves his high capacity as a military and political leader, winning the approval of the people of Israel.
Today, Saul hides with the supplies in order to avoid being declared the first king of Israel.
Today, we go back in time to see a horrific event that happened in Saul's hometown. This major event surely would have had a reverberating impact on Saul's family and would have significantly affected the way that Saul viewed himself and the world.
Today, we meet Saul, a tall, attractive guy in his late-20's. We get to meet his family and see the first signs of his insecurity.
Today, we set the stage for the stories of Saul and David. We are introduced to Samuel and see Israel crying out for a king.
Thanks for being a part of this little experiment! This is a project I've been dreaming about for a couple years now. The current unexpected circumstances of my life my have provided me with some unanticipated space to try to actually develop this idea. My main goal is to help ME connect more deeply with the heart of God as I walk the stories of Saul and David, but I hope it can be helpful for you as well!
