Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life & Liberty Minute. The Supreme Court has locked itself in its own prison, called precedent. It’s the view that whatever position the Supreme Court takes on one case must become the ruling position until the end of time, whether that ruling is right or wrong. Precedent is the only thing propping up Roe v. Wade. Not even Ruth Ginsburg thinks Roe was rightly decided. In a majority opinion this week, Neil Gorsuch blew precedent up and left it lying in smoking ruins. Said Gorsuch, referring to a precedent that’s 58 years old, “No one on the Court today is prepared to say it was rightly decided, and stare decisis isn’t supposed to be the art of methodically ignoring what everyone knows to be true.” We pray God this is the beginning of the end for Roe v. Wade.
