Bollywood Weekly is India's first ever podcast dedicated to Bollywood. Every week, we review the latest big theatrical release, and also provide views, opinions and random observations about the latest films, trailers, industry news, digital media and other relevant topics. Thoda funny or light-hearted rakhne ki bhi koshish kartein hain! There is only rule: no gossip, rumors, who’s dating who or any of that! We only focus on the things that matter - the movies themselves.
In part 2, host Aditya Pisharody and the panel continue to discuss the OTT streaming space - including their favourite underrated YouTube gems, and why it's so hard for Indian shows to sustain quality over multiple seasons or episodes. The heart of this episode though is an impassioned debate about the unscripted reality TV space, how it has evolved and why FOMO culture is changing the way we consume content. Gold is a simplistic movie of cliches - but it's a good watch. Strong performances and a beautifully nuanced treatment of India-Pakistan relations do enough to cover up the flaws and cringe-worthy moments that occasionally find their way into the script.
Was there really any point in re-making Sairat? Dhadak adds a whole lot of glamour, but completely sucks out all the emotion of the original Sairat. Part 1 (3:10) - Why Veere di Wedding is a terrible film, despite all the plaudits and success it's been receiving. While its unabashedly female-first approach to storytelling is great, it is let down by the lack of any actual story to tell and sub-par acting performances.
Part 2 (18:09) - Bhavesh Joshi had all the makings of being a good film and a true DC Comics-style 'origin story', but eventually fell short. We also discuss what makes a superhero, and the importance of editing in a film.

Nawazuddin is Freaky good as Freaky Ali, but the rest of the movie, script and direction fail to match his high standards - though it has its moments.

Why 'Baar Baar Dekho' is in fact a one-time watch - but still deserves at least that one watch. While the acting and script leaves a lot to be desired, the overall concept and message - plus the cinematography - deserves to be applauded.
