Cracked Slippers

As kids primarily women we are taught we are helpless princesses that have to be rescued by a Prince Charming. We are taught especially southern girls be perfect and display perfection sweep your dirty laundry under the rug. Once my cousin got a divorce and one of her friends called her family a broken family and that pissed me off and had revaluation of how many people didn’t have the husband , mini van and Facebook picture life or even kids who had not so fairytale lives being called broken is not accurate. Broken is permanent. I like to think we are just cracked. Cracked enough to let love and light shine thru and make us each authentic. Everyone is a little cracked and being vulnerable enough to share the root of your cracked places helps other heal and US as individuals heal and become a better version of ourselves if not the best Cracked and all.
