Derbyshire were crowned as the 2nd division Champions after they beat Hampshire by six wickets meaning they pipped Yorkshire to the title in spite of their 239-run win in Essex.

Just two games remaining in this round. Middlesex's Toby Roland-Jones took six wickets as his side fought back on day two against Sussex while in division two, Leicestershire have work to do to avoid the follow-on against Northants.
Warwickshire move 21 points at the top of the table after beating Worcestershire by 7 wickets. Their main rivals may not be Sussex who had another excellent first day against Middlesex in Hove. In division two, Essex beat Kent by 7 wickets.
Durham eased their relegation fears by beating Surrey by an innings while Warwickshire turned the tables on Worcestershire. In division two, Gloucestershire and Hampshire drew in Bristol.
Phillip Hughes carries his bat for 135 against Warwickshire who are struggling against lowly Worcestershire. There were four other games, too, across the country.

Nottinghamshire's Andre Adams claimed his 40th wicket of the season and the 600th of his career while Stuart Meaker took 3 for 3 as Surrey fought back in the six overs that were possible in Horsham.

“We've won this Test series already,” Flower said.
“I've heard people argue that it would be nice to get his Test-wicket tally up. We don't select people to get their Test tally up, or their Test run record up. We make decisions in the best interests of English cricket.”
Flower added: “There is no system that's absolutely perfect.
“We know Anderson is one of the best fast bowlers in the world and, all being well, he will be back in to face South Africa in the first Test. Whether he bowls in this Test isn't going to affect how he bowls against South Africa.”
