Hey everyone! We are continuing our daily devotions by looking at Genesis chapter 5. This section of Scripture is one of those that a lot of people skip over in their bible reading because it is a geneology list. However, it contains some amazing information on the Israelite people and through the life of a man named Enoch we can learn together how to walk more closely with the Lord. I hope you enjoy!

Here we continue our daily devotions by taking a good look at Genesis 4. We see in this chapter of the bible the first recorded sacrifice to God, the first mention of sin in the bible, the first murder, and the beginnings of pagan civilization. It is my prayer that in viewing this podcast we can learn to bring our very best into the presence of God when we worship. I hope you enjoy!

This video is an introductary video checking out the new ability to have Everetts Baptist Church video teachings on the web. Tonight January 16 2008 we will be having our 1st business meeting of the new year and I believe we are called to live according to God's purpose and vision for our lives and for our church. Proverbs 29:18 says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish!" Everetts Baptist church has this one overwhelming vision which should lead us in everything we do, "We exist to connect people with God, with other believers, with a ministry, and with the lost."

This is the first blog I've ever done and the reason I'm taking my simple words to the world via the internet is that I really need to know if I am the only one wrestling with what it means to be a Christian in America. It seems like the abundant life of love, service, and power has been traded for a comfortable and convenient Cultural Christianity. I want to know what other Christians in our country really believe it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. For me above all else it means that we are called to love Jesus Christ more passionately and intensely than anything else in our life. Jesus says we must do this if we are to be His disciples in Luke 14 and right after that He says that anyone who wants to be His disciple must take up his cross and follow Him. I may be wrong but it seems Jesus is saying that we must be like dead men and women walking. Why is it that as a young 27 year old Baptist pastor I see that most Christians (including me sometimes!) completely feel as though we can ignore these clear teachings of Christ. Let me know what you others who call yourselves disciples think. Is the cultural niceguyness that defines most Christians what we are really called to be?
