Coach Matt Ridge shares his journey from being a standout basketball player at Ledford High School to playing on the University of North Carolina JV team, to becoming one of the winningest NJCAA basketball coaches in the country.
After sustaining an injury in high school his recruitment was derailed and that led him to UNC and trying out for the JV team. Following two season playing for the JV team, he stayed on as a Student Assistant for the JV team, and soaked up as much knowledge from the staff - including being a fixture behind the bench during the varsity games learning from the late Dean Smith.
Coach Ridge coached high school basketball prior to taking a leap of faith and joining the coaching staff at Guilford College (NCAA DIII) in 2006, and was on staff for their run to the "Elite Eight" featuring players like Ben Strong, Tyler Sanborn, Justin Strickland, and Caleb Kimbrough.
[Then] Davidson County Community College hired him to be the first head basketball coach in program history and he quickly assembled a talented roster than was ranked as high as 9th in the county and finishing the season as co-champions of the Tarheel Conference regular season.
The program moved up to NJCAA Division II and hasn't missed a beat. Coach Ridge has led the Storm to back-to-back National Championship games, followed by a 5th place finish, and a 3rd place finish in the NJCAA DII National Tournament in the last 4 years. His players have gone on to have great success at the four-year level as well.
The Storm has won 466 games in 17 years, against just 83 losses. The 466 wins are the most wins by any National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II or Division III program in the nation over the 17 years. Coach Ridge's Storm have an 84.88% winning percentage - also the highest winning percentage in the country during that time frame - including winning 93% of their home games.

Coach Tysor "Ty" Anderson shares his journey from growing up in a basketball family to becoming a successful college basketball coach in his own right.Ty Anderson's grandfather was a legendary coach and a Naismith Hall of Famer [Charles "Lefty" Driesell] and his uncle is Chuck Driesell. Coach Anderson has blazed his own trail after being a PWO and Student Assistant at Georgia Tech, he's probably the only NCAA Division I coach who served in the Peace Corps.He got his first college coaching job at South Georgia State College before going to Cambodia with the Peace Corps. When he returned to the United States, he became a Graduate Assistant at North Georgia College in the Peach Belt Conference.Coach Anderson became the Head Coach at South Gwinnett High School in 2016 and led them to a 32-22 record during his two seasons at the helm. After South Gwinnett he accepted the same role at Holy Spirit Prep in 2018. At Holy Spirit Prep he coached future 1st Overall Pick in the NBA Draft - and future NBA All Star [and Olympian] Anthony Edwards. The team finished the season with a 20-14 overall record, including a perfect 10-0 mark in the region.Coach Ray Harper added Ty to his coaching staff at Jacksonville State as the Coordinator of Basketball Operations, and eventually was promoted to an Assistant Coach. Coach Randy Phillips shares his journey from growing up in Jackson, Mississippi to playing basketball at the professional level, and now coaching NCAA Division I basketball at UNCG.
He started off his college career at East Central Community College before transferring to Radford where he played for Coach Mike Jones. Phillips and future NBA player Carlik Jones went on to win the 2018 Big South Conference Tournament and won their First Four game in Dayton.
After graduating from Radford he played professionally in Canada, France, and Switzerland. In 2021 he retired from playing professionally and joined the UNCG coaching staff working under Coach Jones.Sponsored by FastModel

Coach Ethan Kahn shares his journey from growing up in Arizona to becoming a Student Assistant at the NCAA DI level, and eventually becoming an Assistant Coach at Bemidji State University (NCAA DII).
Kahn served as a Student Assistant at Northern Arizona from 2017 until 2021 and moved across the country to become a Graduate Assistant in North Carolina at Catawba College. He served as the Director of Basketball Operations and Video Coordinator in addition to being in graduate school.
Coach Kahn helped with all aspects of the program at Catawba and during the 2022-23 season he served as the Head Developmental Coach for the Red team.
In 2023 he was named an Assistant Coach at Bemidji State University in Minnesota.

Coach Jarren "JD" Dyson shares his journey from being a DIII student athlete at Emory & Henry (now NCAA DII) to becoming a D1 Assistant Coach
Dyson served under Coach John Krikorian at Christopher Newport University and helped lead the CNU to back-to-back conference championships and a run to the program's first-ever Final Four appearance in 2016.
Following a 99-19 record and three conference championships during his time at CNU, Coach Dyson landed an Assistant Coach position at Lafayette College - he went on to spend five seasons at Lafayette under the legendary Coach Fran O'Hanlon.
After Lafayette he returned to Christopher Newport for one season - and helped them win the NCAA DIII National Championship. Following that feat he returned to the Patriot League to be an Assistant Coach at Army on first year Head Coach Kevin Kuwik's inaugural coaching staff.

Coach Billy Bales shares his journey from growing up in Elizabethton Tennessee to becoming a coach at the NCAA DI level.Bales played college basketball at Lenoir-Rhyne under three different head coaches (John Lentz, Ryan Odom, and Everick Sullivan). In 2016 he led the Bears to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA DII Tournament. He remained at Lenoir-Rhyne as a Graduate Assistant under Coach Everick Sullivan and again helped them reach the NCAA Tournament. After completing his master's degree at Lenoir-Rhyne, Bales was hired by Coach Ryan Odom at UMBC and he spent one season coaching at UMBC before going with Coach Odom to Utah State as the Director of Player Development. Coach Steven Asher shares his journey from growing up in Maryland and playing Club Basketball at JMU, to becoming a NCAA DI women's basketball coach at Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne.
After graduating from James Madison University he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at the University of Maryland under Coach Mark Turgeon. While at Maryland he was a part of a program that advanced to the Semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament and the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
Coach Asher accepted an Assistant Coach position at Lycoming College (NCAA DIII) and helped them win their conference tournament and advance to the NCAA DIII Tournament. From Lycoming he moved onto Catawba College where he served as an Assistant Coach for Coach Rob Perron. While on staff at Catawba, they advanced to the NCAA Tournament in both 2019 and 2020 while winning the South Atlantic Conference in 2020.
Following a successful at Catawba, Coach Asher joined the women's coaching staff at Rice University and aided them to a Women's National Invitational Tournament Championship. Rice finished with a 23-4 record including a 12-2 Conference USA record.
In 2021 Coach Asher joined the coaching staff at Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne.

Coach Soloman "Sol" Zurier shares his journey from growing up in Maryland to becoming the Director of Basketball Operations at USC Upstate.
He attended West Virginia University and started the WVU Men's Club Basketball program that he served as the Head Coach for as well as serving as an Assistant Coach with Morgantown HS. Coach Zurier also interned with the WVU Strength & Conditioning department during his time at West Virginia.
In 2014 he joined the staff at St. Mary’s College of Maryland as an Assistant Coach and remained there until 2019 when he moved onto International Sports Academy (ISA) in Willoughby, Ohio as both an Assistant and Head Coach for their boy's varsity basketball teams.
Coach Zurier accepted the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations role at USC Upstate and after one season Head Coach Dave Dickerson promoted him to their Director of Basketball Operations. He enters his third season in Spartanburg this season.

Coach Keith Oddo shares his journey from growing up in Roanoke, Virginia to becoming an Assistant Coach at IUPUI.
Oddo accepted a Preferred Walk On spot at Richmond where he played for Coach Chris Mooney, during his senior year he earned an athletic scholarship. He graduate transferred to Louisville where he was a Preferred Walk On for Chris Mack's Cardinals team for the 2019-2020 season. He was part of a Louisville Cardinals team that was ranked #1 team in the nation and finished with a 24-7 record prior to COVID ending their NCAA Tournament-bound season.
After exhausting his playing eligibility, he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at Akron under Coach John Groce, and the following season he worked for the Brooklyn Nets as a NBA Summer League Team Assistant. Following that experience he accepted an Assistant Coach position at Bridgewater College and spent the next two seasons. In addition to his coaching responsibilities at Bridgewater, Coach Oddo became the General Manager and Head Coach of the Louisville alumni team in The Basketball Tournament (TBT).
In August he was hired as an Assistant Coach at IUPUI under Coach Matt Crenshaw

Coach Riley Welch shares his journey from playing NCAA DIII basketball for the University of Mary Washington to becoming a Graduate Assistant at Lynchburg.
After being a standout for West Springfield High School, Welch attended the University of Mary Washington and was one of the most prolific three point shooters in program history. He elected to remain in college for his 5th season of eligibility since he did not have a season in 2020-21 due to the COVID pandemic.
Coach Welch is entering his 2nd season as a Graduate Assistant for Coach Hillary Scott and the Hornets of Lynchburg University.

Joe Cristy shares his journey from growing up in Baltimore to becoming the new Public Address Announcer for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
He played baseball at High Point and was a member of the Panthers during their transition from NAIA to D2, and ultimately to D1. He began working High Point’s women’s basketball games, and quickly became the voice of the High Point Panthers athletics. Joe worked for nearly twenty years as the PA Announcer for High Point as well as working such events as the the 2019 NCAA Men's Soccer College Cup, the 2022 ACC Men's & Women's Soccer Championships, the 2023 New York Life ACC Men's Basketball Tournament, and many more tournaments.
Recently he was named Public Address Announcer for Wake Forest University Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball and Volleyball.

Coach Jason Allison shares his journey from growing up in Lincolnton, North Carolina to becoming a NCAA D1 men's basketball coach.
He was a student-athlete at Liberty University and began his coaching career at Lynchburg Christian Academy. Coach Allison went onto coach at Lees-McRae College, Gaston Day School, and King College prior to joining the coaching staff at VMI.
Allison spent nine seasons in Lexington working under Coach Duggar Baucom as the Associate Coach/Recruiting Coordinator. During his tenure at VMI, he helped lead the Keydets to three appearances in the Big South Tournament title game and to the semifinals of the 2014 CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Known for their high-octane offense, VMI led the nation in scoring six times. The Keydets eclipsed the 20-win plateau twice in Allison’s nine seasons with the program, a feat that VMI achieved just three times in the 97 years prior.
Coach Jim Fox hired him to be on his coaching staff at Appalachian State and spent his first four seasons as App State as an Assistant Coach, before being promoted to Associate Head Coach for the 2018-19 season. After Dustin Kerns was named the new Head Coach, Allison remained on staff as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach in 2019-20. In 2020 Coach Allison took over the men's golf program at App State and had great success.
This past June he was named the Chief of Staff for Men's Basketball at Drexel under Coach Zach Spiker.

Coach Bob Gallager shares his journey from growing up in Elbridge, New York to becoming an Assistant Coach at Bowling Green [State University].
He attended St. Bonaventure and after his sophomore year he served as a Student Manager under Coach Mark Schmidt. After graduating from St. Bonaventure, he remained in Olean as a Graduate Assistant for the Bonnies. Coach Gallager accepted an Assistant Coach position under Coach Chad Myers at Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia. He helped the Post Graduate team go 32-3 including an appearance at the National Prep Tournament Final Four, the team had a number of Division I players including future NBA player Dereon Seabron (New Orleans Pelicans).
Gallager reunited with Coach Chad Myers at IMG Academy where he again served as his Assistant Coach, the following season he landed a Special Assistant position at Southern Utah under Coach Todd Simon. The Thunderbirds went 24-13, including an appearance in the CBI Semifinals. Simon was named the Head Coach at Bowling Green and hired him to serve as an Assistant Coach for the Falcons.

Coach Dwight Perry shares his journey from growing up in Durham North Carolina to becoming a walk-on at the University of Kentucky - and now the Head Coach at Wofford College.
Perry walked-on for Coach Tubby Smith at the University of Kentucky and following his graduation from Kentucky he went on to intern with the Stanford University Men's Basketball Team under Coach Johnny Dawkins. Following his time in Palo Alto he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at VCU under Coach Shaka Smart. After earning his Master's Degree from VCU he remained on staff as the Video Coordinator for one season before accepting an Assistant Coach position at Furman under Coach Niko Medved.
After a nice run at Furman under both Coach Niko Medved and Coach Bob Richey - including back-to-back CIT appearances, he moved to Spartanburg to become an Assistant Coach at Wofford College. He was a part of a Wofford program that won games at North Carolina and Georgia during his first few seasons on staff. Coach Perry was promoted to the Associate Head Coach in 2021 and in December of 2022 he was named the Interim Head Coach. During his time as the Interim Head Coach he led Wofford to a win at Texas A&M - which was their only loss at home all season, and as the six seed in the SoCon Tournament the Terriers knocked off third seeded UNCG.
Dwight Perry was named the Head Coach at Wofford College in March of 2023.

Coach CJ Lee shares his coaching journey and how his decision to transfer from a scholarship student-athlete at Manhattan College to a walk-on at Michigan has impacted his life.
Lee was a standout high school player who was a member of Manhattan's team that won the MAAC Regular Season Championship and knocked off FDU and Maryland in the NIT. When he transferred to Michigan he sat out due to the NCAA transfer rules during Coach Tommy Amaker's final season in Ann Arbor, he earned a scholarship from Coach John Beilein and was a co-captain during his senior season at Michigan.
After exhausting his NCAA eligibility he joined the coaching staff as their Administrative Specialist, and then promoted to their Director of Program Personnel. Coach Lee was a part of the coaching staff that took Michigan to multiple NCAA Tournaments including the NCAA Championship in 2013.
Mike Maker hired CJ to be an Assistant Coach on his inaugural coaching staff at Marist. Coach Lee was tasked with staying on at Marist until they hired a new Head Coach when they did not retain Coach Maker. CJ's wife accepted a position as an Assistant Professor at UNCG so he put his college coaching ambitions aside for her and accepted the Head Coach position at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point North Carolina. He won over 40 games at WCA and when the Director of Basketball Operations job opened up at UNCG he applied and was hired in August of 2022.

Coach Jason Martinez shares his journey from growing up in Saratoga Springs New York to becoming a Strength & Conditioning Coach at the NCAA Division I level.
Martinez graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in Exercise Science, from there he went on to intern with Clemson and Penn State. After his internships he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at Lindenwood University where after two years he parlayed that into a job at Wake Forest under Coach Danny Manning. He worked under Coach Ryan Horn and was instrumental in designing a state-of-the-art athletic performance facility at Wake Forest.
East Carolina hired Coach Martinez in 2020 and he spent two seasons on Coach Joe Dooley's coaching staff as their Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for Men's Basketball. He returned to New York when Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino hired him to his staff at Iona. Coach Martinez also assisted the women's basketball program while working at Iona.
In May of 2023 Coach Martinez was hired at North Texas to be the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Mean Green.

Coach Bradley Fey shares his journey from growing up in Indiana to becoming the Director of Basketball Operations at App State.
After growing up in a basketball family he went on to play college basketball at DePauw under the legendary Coach Bill Fenlon. In 2016 Fey accepted a Graduate Assistant position at Jacksonville University under Tony Jasick. He spent two years in the ASUN and played a part in coaching JD Notae - who would later transfer to Arkansas and be named an All-American third team.
Shortly after accepting a JUCO coaching position he was offered the Director of Basketball Operations at Presbyterian College working under Coach Dustin Kerns. Fey was a part of a Presbyterian College Blue Hose team that won twenty games and advanced to the CIT Quarterfinals. Kerns accepted the Head Coach position at App State and brought the entire coaching staff with him.
Coach Fey has been an integral part of the Mountaineers success - which includes the third NCAA Tournament appearance in the 100+ year history of the App State men's basketball program.

Coach Cole Wakefield shares his journey from growing up in Katy Texas to becoming a Graduate Assistant at the University of Louisiana.
Cole became a Student Manager at Texas Tech during his sophomore year. He served under both Chris Beard and Mark Adams. During his time with the Red Raider they went 59-32 including a Sweet Sixteen run in 2022.
After graduating from Texas Tech in 2022 he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at the University of Louisiana under Coach Bob Marlin. In his first season in Lafayette the Ragin' Cajuns went 26-8 with a perfect 14-0 at home, and a Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship. For much of the season Louisiana was ranked in the Top 10 of the Mid Major Top 25, and for the first time in nine seasons Louisiana made the NCAA Tournament.

Coach Miles Lester shares his journey from growing up in Kansas to becoming a PWO who earned a scholarship at Rice before transferring as a PWO at Wake Forest who earned a scholarship during his senior year - and now is currently a Graduate Assistant for Coach Kelvin Sampson's Houston Cougars.
Lester moved to Wilbraham, Massachusetts in high school where he was a stand out basketball player and as a senior was named All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Honorable Mention. He decided to attend Rice - where he would start five of the 29 games he played in for the Owls.
After his freshman season he transferred to Wake Forest to play for Kansas legend Danny Manning. He gave up a scholarship at Rice to be a Preferred Walk-On for Wake Forest and had to sit out during the 2018-19 season due to the NCAA Transfer rules. During his time in Wake Forest he played for Coach Manning and then his final two seasons were under Coach Steve Forbes.
Miles was a Team Assistant during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas before landing a Graduate Assistant at The University of Houston. In his first season at Houston they won both the AAC Regular Season Championship before reaching the Sweet Sixteen of the 2023 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Coach Molly Bachand shares her journey from growing up in Fairway, Kansas to becoming a Director of Basketball Operations for a NCAA Division I men's basketball program.
She got her first experience working the Roy Williams Camp at Kansas while still in high school and eventually became a Student Manager while at Kansas under Coach Bill Self. After graduating she accepted a position at-then Big 12 member Colorado and spent one year there before returning to Kansas. Molly spent two years at the University of Kansas before accepting a Director of Equipment role at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama.
Coach Danny Manning brought her to Wake Forest as the Director of Equipment Services for both the men’s and women’s basketball programs, when the change in leadership took place in 2020 she found herself out of a job as well.
In 2021 Coach Justin Gray hired her as the Director of Basketball Operations at Western Carolina.

Coach Ashley Howard shares his journey from growing up outside of Philadelphia to eventually being the Head Coach at Drexel from 2018 until 2022.
Ashley was recruited to Drexel and played basketball until a heart condition wouldn't allow him to continue his playing career, he then transitioned into a Student Assistant. In 2004 Dr. John Giannini hired him to be an Assistant Coach on his coaching staff at La Salle.
After four seasons at La Salle he returned to Drexel working under Coach Bruiser Flint - who was the Head Coach while he was a Student Assistant at Drexel. He was part of a coaching staff that led the Dragons to consecutive 20-win seasons, including a school record 29 victories in 2011-12.
From Drexel he went onto Villanova and was an integral piece of team that was two National Championships during a span of five seasons at Villanova. Each season the team advanced to the NCAA Tournament - while also winning four Big East regular season titles and three Big East Tournament championships during his time at Villanova. All together, Villanova won an incredible 92% of their games during his five seasons there (294-24).
In 2018 he was named the Head Coach at La Salle and led the Explorers, currently he's spearheading the "Friends of Nova" NIL collective which helps provide compensation to student-athletes at Villanova.

Coach Ivan Thomas shares his journey from growing up in Norfolk, Virginia to becoming a highly successful high school basketball coach, and coaching at Providence College under Coach Ed Cooley.
Thomas graduated from Norview High School and then went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from VCU. He moved to Illinois and served as an Assistant Coach at Schaumburg High School where he aided their state championship. Coach Thomas returned Virginia to pursue a Master's Degree from VCU. He moved to Northern Virginia and earned a second Master's Degree from George Mason University while also serving as the Head Coach at Edison High School. After having great success at Edison, he accepted the Head Coach position at TC Williams (now Alexandria City), the Titans went 75-9 during his three seasons at TC including a three-peat as District Champions - including a state championship in 2008.
Along his coaching journey he developed a friendship with Boo Williams and helped coach with Boo Williams AAU program, when he returned to Virginia Beach to became the Head Coach at Kecoughtan High School from 2008 until 2015 while also coaching the Boo Williams 17U boy's basketball program.
In 2015 Ed Cooley hired him as the Associate Director of Player Development/Video Operations at Providence, the following season he was promoted to an Assistant Coach. He's been instrumental in their success and is highly respected within coaching circles. Last season the Friars went 27-6, including 14-3 in Big East play, won the regular season title and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen before losing by single digits to the eventual National Champion Kansas Jayhawks.

Joel Justus shares his journey from growing up in North Carolina to becoming one of the most heralded Assistant Coaches in the nation.
After growing up around college athletics, Joel went on to play college basketball at UNC Wilmington. He helped the Seahawks capture two Colonial Athletic Association titles, make three postseason appearances (NIT in 2001 and NCAA in 2002 and 2003) and was team captain his senior season in 2003-04.
Justus started his college coaching career as an assistant coach at Elon University from 2004-08, where he helped guide the Phoenix to a Northern Division title in 2006 and the Southern Conference championship game in 2008 under Coach Ernie Nestor.
Prior to the 2014-15 season he was hired by Kentucky as their Director of Analytics. UK became the first team in college basketball history to start a season 38-0, the following season he was elevated to Special Assistant to the Head Coach for the 2015-16 season. In 2016 he was again elevated - this time to an Assistant Coach. In his first season as an Assistant Coach, Kentucky won both the SEC regular-season and tournament championships while advancing to the Elite Eight. He played a key part in securing what the Recruiting Services Consensus Index calculates as the best recruiting class ever in 2017 and the No. 1 class in 2020.
In 2017-18, Coach Justus helped UK win their fourth straight SEC tournament championship. The following season Kentucky advanced to another Elite Eight,
Justus helped Kentucky to another Southeastern Conference regular-season title in 2020 and was a key part in what many tabbed as the best recruiting class in the country in 2020. Highlighted as one of the top young assistants in the country, The Athletic tabbed Justus one of the top 40 people in college basketball under 40 and ESPN named him one of the nation's top 40 coaches less than 40 years old in 2020.
After seven seasons in Lexington Coach Justus accepted a similar position at Arizona State under Coach Bobby Hurley. This past offseason he returned to his home state as an Assistant Coach at NC State under Coach Kevin Keatts.

Coach Will Jones shares his journey from growing up in Moncks Corner, South Carolina to being a Head Coach at the NCAA Division I level.
After playing college basketball at South Carolina State he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at Tennessee State. After earning his Master's Degree from Tennessee State, he accepted an Assistant Coach position at Lemoyne-Owen College during the 2005-06 season. He would return to South Carolina State as an Assistant Coach, after one season his Head Coach was let go and the staff wasn't retained either.
Coach Jones joined the NJCAA ranks at what is now known as Northwest Florida State College. The program went 48-11 during his two years on staff. He accepted a Head Coach position at Motlow State but they declined it so that he could join the coaching staff at Charleston Southern.
From Charleston Southern he continued down south to Florida, to coach Jacksonville University under Cliff Warren. After Coach Warren wasn’t retained he became a first-time Head Coach at West Nassau High School, and the following season he returned to the college ranks at Florida A&M during the 2015-16 season under Bryon Samuels. In July of 2016 and joined the coaching staff at North Carolina A&T. He served under Coach Jay Joyner’s coaching staff and was instrumental in the Aggies having one of the best turnarounds in NCAA Division I history. N.C. A&T improved by 17 games from the 2016-17 to the 2017-18 season after going 20-15 overall. Coach Joyner promoted him to Associate HC prior to the 2018 season, and then in December of 2019 Coach Joyner was suspended indefinitely and he was announced as the Aggies Interim Head Coach. Coach Jones went on to be named the MEAC Coach of the Year as an Interim HC.
This past August Coach Jones and North Carolina A&T parted ways, he finished his tenure with a a 37-35 overall recording including leading the Aggies to a MEAC regular season championship during the 2020-2021 campaign.

Coach Jordan Surenkamp shares his journey from growing up in the Hoosier state and playing NCAA Division III basketball to becoming the Head Coach of the Greensboro Swarm.
After graduating from Wabash he served as a Graduate Assistant at South Alabama before being hired full-time as their Director of Basketball Operations. He was hired by the Long Island Nets in 2017 and later went on to join the Charlotte Hornets franchise. The Greensboro Swarm hired him as their Head Coach and this past summer he coached their Hornets Summer League team in Las Vegas.

Coach Jeff Strohm shares his journey from growing up in Marshall Illinois to becoming a highly successful men's basketball at the NCAA Division I level.
After coaching two seasons at the high school level he spent the next six seasons at Northern Illinois. From there he landed an Assistant Coach position at Utah under the legendary Coach Rick Majerus. They helped transform Utah into a nation powerhouse, in 1998 they played in the NCAA National Championship with players such as Andre Miller and Michael Doleac. Coach Strohm was instrumental in recruiting and developing Andrew Bogut. From Utah he moved back closer to his family and coached under Tom Crean at Marquette from 2002-05, he coached six players who would go onto play in the NBA - including Dwyane Wade.
He served as the Head Coach of the Vermont Frost Heaves Premier Basketball League (PBL) in 2009-10. Coach Strohm resumed his college coaching career at Tulane under Ed Conroy, he helped them win 20 and advance to the 2nd round of the CIT. In 2016 he became the Director of Basketball Operations at Loyola Marymount under Mike Dunlap and after requesting to stay at the DOBO for a season, he accepted a promotion to Assistant Coach in 2018.
This past offseason he accepted an Assistant Coach position at San Jose State under Tim Miles.

Coach TJ Ryan shares his journey from growing up the son of a college coach who has made a name for himself as the Director of Scouting at Texas A&M under Coach Buzz Williams.
TJ played one season at Franklin College in Indiana before deciding to transition to a Student Assistant. TJ has worked numerous camps across the country including Butler, Liberty, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Xavier (among others) and has had internships in Spain and Germany.

Coach Ryan Kardok shares his journey from growing up in Florida, playing JUCO then continuing his playing career at South Florida to eventually becoming the Director of Player Development for his alma mater.
Kardok played at Broward Community College before transferring to South Florida. He became a Graduate Assistant at the University of Miami from 2013 to 2015 under Naismith Coach of the Year Jim Larranaga. After completing his master's degree from the University of Miami he accepted the Video Coordinator position at Bowling Green under Coach Michael Huger. He was promoted to the Director of Basketball Operations from 2016-19 and also had a stint as Interim Assistant Head Coach from February-July 2018.
Coach Kardok served as an Assistant Coach at James Madison University from 2019-20 under Coach Louis Rowe prior to becoming the Head Coach at Parrish Community High School from 2020-22. He guided his team to a 20-8 record in 2022, marking the first 20-win season in program history. Kardok guided Parrish to back-to-back district championships for the first time in school history. He was named the District 16 4A Coach of the Year as well. He returned to his alma mater as the Director of Player Development in June of of 2022.

Coach Joshua Heyliger shares his journey from being born in Delaware, moving to New York, and eventually becoming an Assistant Coach at Davidson College.
After moving to New York at a young age he attended boarding school at The Hill School in Pennsylvania prior to attending Stonehill College, he was a four year letter winner and a member of team that reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight during his junior season. He worked a few camps after graduating and he landed his first coaching job at The Hill School as the Head Coach of the JV team, as well as assisting with the varsity program.
Coach Heyliger became a Graduate Assistant at Dartmouth under his former college coach David McLaughlin. Following a season at Dartmouth Coach Heyliger accepted the Director of Basketball Operations position at Davidson College under the legendary Coach Bob McKillop. In four seasons at Davidson the team has gone 80-40, making two NIT appearances and a NCAA Tournament appearance this past season. He was promoted to an Assistant Coach this past May and he's helped Coach Matt McKillop with the transition from Associate Head Coach to Head Coach.

Coach Bryan Bender shares his journey from growing up in Wisconsin to becoming the Head Coach at Ellsworth CC.
He was a Student Manager under Tubby Smith at Minnesota and eventually worked his way up to the Video Coordinator before entering the JUCO ranks at Missouri State University-West Plains. After the season at West Plains he moved onto Boone, NC to be the Director of Basketball Operations at App State under Jim Fox.

Coach Michael Fly shares his journey from growing up in Kentucky to becoming a NCAA Division I Head Coach at Florida Gulf Coast University.
He got his first coaching experience under the living legend that is Happy Osbourne at Georgetown College during his undergraduate years at the University of Kentucky. From Georgetown College he moved onto the Charlotte Bobcats (now Charlotte Hornets) and worked under Michael Jordan and alongside the likes of Dell Curry, Phil Ford, Jeff Capel, and Bernie Bickerstaff. After spending a season in the NBA ranks he moved down to Tallahassee to serve as the Video Coordinator at Florida State under another legendary coach in Leonard Hamilton.
Andy Enfield was named the Head Coach at FGCU in 2011 and Coach Fly moved to Fort Meyers to serve as one of his Assistant Coaches. As an Assistant Coach under Coach Enfield he was a part of six ASUN championship teams, including the 2013 team who reached the Sweet 16. When USC hired Coach Enfield he had the opportunity to join his coaching staff, but decided to stay and serve under newly named Head Coach, Joe Dooley.
In 2018 when Coach Dooley returned to East Carolina, Michael Fly was promoted to Head Coach at Florida Gulf Coast University and spend four years as the helm. He led the Eagles to the third most wins in program history (22) and set program records for non-conference wins, three-pointers, three-point attempts, blocks per game and total blocks. Coach Fly also coached the ASUN Newcomer and Defensive Player of the Year in 2021-2022. Prior to the TBC postseason tournament FGCU made a coaching change, but Coach Fly stayed and coached his team, leading them to the 2nd Round.
Coach Fly reunited with Coach Dennis Gates and multiple other former Leonard Hamilton disciples at Mizzou when he was named the Director of Scouting & Analytics in May of 2022.

Coach Laura Harper shares her journey from growing up in Elkins Park, PA to becoming a Head Coach at the NCAA DI level.
She led her high school team to a state championship as a freshman and then went on to lead Maryland to a NCAA National Championship in 2006 as well, she eventually was drafted eighth in the first round of the WNBA Draft and played professionally until 2013.
After her playing career ended, Harper joined the coaching ranks at Loyola Maryland (2013-2014) before moving onto High Point (2014-2016) and then returning to the DMV when she joined the coaching staff at George Washington (2016-2017). Coach Harper accepted an Assistant Coach position at Florida (2017-2019) before getting her first job as a Head Coach at Montverde Academy (2019-2020) in the Sunshine State.
Coach Harper was named the Head Coach at Coppin State in 2020 and spent two seasons at the helm, Harper and her staff flipped the program by winning 13 more games that they won in her first season under her. She was named the MEAC Coach of the Year in 2022 and on April 20, 2022 was introduced as the Head Coach at Towson.

Coach Jonas Hayes shares his journey from growing up in Atlanta and going to high school with TI to becoming a D1 Head Coach at Georgia State.
Him and his twin brother [Jarvis] attended Western Carolina during their freshman season before transferring to the University of Georgia to play for the Bulldogs in their home state. Jarvis went on to play in the NBA and Jonas began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at Morehouse State then South Carolina State before spending the next five seasons at Belmont Abbey College.
The University of Georgia offered him a job in 2012 and he left Belmont Abbey to be on Mark Fox's coaching staff and he remained there until 2018 when he moved on to Xavier where he would be promoted to Associate Head Coach, and then named the Interim Head Coach during the 2022 NIT, Coach Hayes led Xavier to a NIT Championship going 4-0 as the Interim Head Coach despite Archie Miller being hired to be the next Head Coach at Xavier starting in the 2022-23 season.
Coach Hayes was introduced as the Head Coach at Georgia State University on April 6, 2022.

Coach Alex Church shares his journey from growing up in Hedgesville, WV to coaching at Marshall and UAB.
After playing for his father [Kelly Church] at Hedgesville High School, he became a Student Manager at Marshall University where he helped them advance to the NCAA Tournament - where they went on to upset Wichita State before falling to West Virginia in the Round of 32. Coach Church accepted a Graduate Assistant position at UAB under Coach Rob Ehsan where they went on to have a 39-28 overall record with a winning record in C-USA competition. That first season in Birmingham they accepted a postseason bid to the CBI, and despite going 19-13 the following season, the staff was dismissed after advancing past UTSA in the 1st Round of the Conference USA Tournament - which ultimately ended due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Coach Bob Williams talks about growing up in New York and being the son of a highly successful coach. He played for his father and then transferred to Ithaca College and after playing his junior season decided to transition into coaching. He served as a Student Assistant Coach at Ithaca and after graduating he was named the Head Coach at Indian River High School in New York prior to being hired as an Assistant Coach at NCAA Division III Potsdam State (NY) from 1990-94. Coach Williams served as the Associate Head Coach at Jefferson Community College during the 1994-95 under his father before succeeding him for two years compiling a record of 53-14. Glenville State College hired him as their Head Coach and from 1997-2002 and left the program in much better shape than he found it. He went on to spend the next 17 seasons as the Head Coach at West Virginia University Tech, Williams led West Virginia Tech to the NAIA National Tournament in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The Golden Bears were 30-5 in his final season at Tech in what amounted to Williams' most wins in a single season. During the 2018-19 season, Tech was ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation (NAIA DIII). The squad was also crowned the River States Conference regular season champions as well as claiming the River States Conference Championship. Williams was voted "Coach of the Year" three times, recorded his 403rd career win with five 22-win seasons, produced 14 All-Americans and won three conference championships at West Virginia Tech. The recipient of three "Coach of the Year" honors, who has amassed 400 career wins, has mentored several current coaches and professional players, and a member of multiple Hall of Fames, Coach Bob Williams is a basketball lifer who share tremendous insights and what he's learned along the way.

Coach Patrick Crarey shares his journey from growing up in the DMV to becoming a successful college basketball career who is currently the Head Coach at St. Thomas University (NAIA).
After playing at Takoma Academy he went on to be a student athlete at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. He would eventually return to serve as the Head Coach at Takoma Academy before being named the Head Coach at Washington Adventist University. Coach Crarey led the Shock to new heights as both the Athletic Director and as their Head Coach.
In May of 2021 Coach Crarey was named the Head Coach at St. Thomas University.

Coach Carter Heston shares his journey from growing up in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin to becoming the youngest Assistant Coach in the NCAA DI ranks. Coach Heston graduated from Alabama and quickly started his journey coaching at Texas A&M Texarkana (NAIA) and helped led them to the NAIA Tournament. He's worked with some high profile skills trainers before and after getting hired as the Director of Player Development at North Alabama (NCAA DI). This past June after roughly nine months on staff he was promoted to an Assistant Coach for the Lions. Coach Brian Johnson shares his journey from growing up in Annapolis to becoming a college basketball coach.
After being one of the top players in the history of the University of Delaware he went on to start his coaching journey at nearby Goldey Beacom College (D2). After one season at GBC, Coach Johnson was hired at UMBC as their Director of Basketball Operations. He was promoted to Assistant Coach after one season as the DOBO, and spent four years total in Baltimore before taking over Prince George's Community College (NJCAA D3). Coach Johnson had success as a Head Coach at PGCC which led to him taking over at Southern Vermont College (D3). From SVC he was hired at Binghamton (D1) in 2019 under Tommy Dempsey.
Currently Brian is the Associate Head Coach at Binghamton. He's coached every level of NCAA men's basketball and provides excellent insights as well advice for coaches of all ages.

Coach Jamion Christian shares his journey from growing up in New Kent, Virginia to becoming a NCAA D1 Head Coach.
He led his high school to an undefeated season culminating in a state championship before playing college basketball at Mount Saint Mary's under the late Jim Phelan. His senior year he played for Milan Brown, after graduating he started his coaching career at [then D3] Henry & Henry College under the late Bob Johnson.
Pat Flannery hired him to be his Director of Basketball Operations at Bucknell, where they won the Patriot League regular season title. Coach Tony Shaver hired Jamion to his coaching staff at William & Mary as an Assistant Coach where he remained on staff for three seasons before accepting a job at VCU under Shaka Smart.
Coach Christian helped lead the VCU to a Colonial Athletic Association Championship, and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2012. His alma mater hired him to be their Head Coach in 2012 and he spent six seasons there. He implemented his "Mayhem" style of play, which led them to the NCAA Tournament twice.
He accepted the Head Coach job at Siena where he led the largest turnaround in Division I that season before leaving to become the Head Coach at George Washington University. Coach Christian spoke very candid about his tenure at GW including his dismissal at the conclusion of his third season at the helm.

Coach John Thompson shares his journey from growing up in Durham, North Carolina to becoming a Hall of Famer who's won over 400 games at the college level.
After finishing his playing career at UNC Greensboro he embarked on his coaching career. He's been the Head Coach at North Carolina Wesleyan since 1995 after previously serving as an Assistant Coach at St. Andrew's, St. Lawrence and Guilford College.
Coach Thompson spent 20 years as the Athletic Director at North Carolina Wesleyan, but in 2018 he stepped down from his AD duties so that he could focus on coaching the men's basketball team.
He is one of the most well-respected coaches in the industry and as a result, he has been involved with USA Basketball. He provides excellent insight for coaches of all levels.

After growing up a Kentucky Wildcats fan, Austin attended UK and rather than being a manager he served as a Volunteer Coach at Transylvania University.

Coach Dennis Harrington shares his journey from growing up in New Jersey to becoming a college basketball coach at DePauw University.
Upon graduating from Marquette University he coached at Southern Regional School District in Manahawkin, New Jersey before moving to Florida to serve as the Recruiting Coordinator and Operations Manager - and an Assistant Boys Varsity Coach, JV Head Coach and Skill Development Trainer for the Impact Basketball Academy.

Coach Jack Meriwether shares his coaching journey from going the scouting route rather than playing or managing at the college level to becoming a Head Coach at the college and high school levels.

Coach Mike Jarvis shares his journey from growing up in Cambridge Massachusetts to becoming a NCAA D1 Head Coach. After finishing his playing career at Northeastern he joined the coaching staff there and then Harvard before becoming the Head Coach at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. He coached Patrick Ewing, Rumeal Robinson, and Karl Hobbs in high school including winning three-consecutive state championships (1979-1981), including a remarkable 77-1 record during that run. Coach Jarvis was named Massachusetts HS Coach of the Year in each of those three seasons.
Boston University named him their Head Coach in 1985 and he led them to two NCAA Tournament appearances. He led the Terriers to a 101-50 record during his five seasons at the helm before accepting the Head Coach position at George Washington.
Coach Jarvis lead the George Washington University to three NCAA tournament appearances, including the Sweet 16 in the 1993 NCAA Tournament. He made history by being the first African American father-son coaching team. Coach Jarvis led the Colonials to two wins over number one nationally ranked UMass - including at home with President Bill Clinton in attendance. In 1997 Coach Jarvis served as the President of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. After accumulating a 143–100 record at GW, he was hired at St. John's. He coached at St. John's from 1998 to 2003. In 1998 Coach Jarvis was named ‘National Coach of the Year ‘by the Black Coaches Association and that same year he would be named ‘Father of the Year’ by Ebony Magazine. Coach Jarvis coached guys like Ron Artest and took St. John's to the Elite Eight in his first season as Head Coach. They won the NIT in 2003 and after leaving St. John's he worked for ESPN and Yahoo before returning to the sidelines at Florida Atlantic for six seasons.
At Florida Atlantic he guided them to the NIT in his third season. Coach Jarvis has written three book (Skills for Life, Everybody Needs a Head Coach, and The Seven C’s Of Leadership). Currently he works at South Florida Bible College and Theological Seminary in addition to pubic speaking.

Coach Josh Gross shares his journey from growing up in Maryland to becoming a standout player at UNCG, embarking on a professional basketball career, and now coaching college basketball. He played at UNCG under current Iowa Head Coach Fran McCaffery and shares his experiences and what he learned from the UNCG coaches. Coach Gross played in the NBA D-League (now G League) as well as numerous other countries before breaking into the coaching ranks at the HS level. From there he moved onto Belmont Abbey (NCAA D2) under former UNCG Assistant Coach Billy Taylor. He returned to the HS ranks as a Head Coach for a couple seasons before returning to Belmont Abbey. During their NCAA Tournament run he was named the Head Coach at Johnson & Wales (NC) and he speaks candidly about what it was like to coach a team, but having it announced that he was named the next Head Coach at another school. The 2021-22 season was his first season at the helm of Johnson & Wales, and he's certainly exceeded expectations. Coach Ben Tanoff shares his journey from growing up in Michigan and running cross country and track at the NCAA DIII level at Kenyon College to now being on the men's basketball coaching staff at NCAA DI Presbyterian College. After accepting a teaching position in South Carolina straight out of college, he began serving as the co-Head Coach for the JV and Varsity basketball teams at the school. Following a successful stint in South Carolina he moved on to the University of Pikeville to be a Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of Pikeville. The Bears made back-to-back NAIA national tournament appearances and were Mid-South Conference champions in 2017-2018. Upon completing his master's degree from Pikeville, Coach Tanoff served as an Assistant Coach at Maine Maritime Academy. After one season he moved on to Georgia Tech in the ACC. Georgia Tech won the school's first ACC Championship since 1993 during his time with the Yellowjackets. After meeting with Coach Pastner after the season and expressing his desire to coach basketball in more of an expanded role, he ended up at Presbyterian College as their Director of Basketball Operations - ironically enough in the same conference that he had accepted a position with before moving back to the Palmetto State. Coach Tanoff is such a genuinely nice person and really great basketball mind, he has a very bright future in this profession!

Coach Joanne P. McCallie (Coach P) shares her journey both in basketball and as a mental health advocate.
At the conclusion of the 2019-20 season she stepped down at Duke after a 28 year head coaching career including 13 seasons in Durham.
Coach won 628 games at the NCAA D1 level which is 35th all time and coached in Elite Eights, Final Fours and even the NCAA Championship. In 2005 she was named the Associated Press National Coach of the Year.

Coach Evan Manning shares his journey from growing up the Kansas to being on staff in the ACC, to now working under Mark Few at Gonzaga. After being a walk-on at Kansas and winning four Big XII regular season titles, two Big XII tournament championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances (including the Elite Eight during his senior season) he briefly coached youth basketball before joining his father's coaching staff at Wake Forest. Evan shares what it was like to try and tune out negativity at Wake Forest while they didn't meet the standards of some fans. He doesn't hide the fact that Danny Manning is his dad, but he's making a name for himself in the coaching ranks.

Robert Burlingham shares his journey from bagging groceries to becoming a coach at the NCAA Division One level.
He began his coaching career as a student manager Nick McDevitt at UNC Asheville in 2013. He transferred to Western Carolina - where he continued serving as a student manager - this time under [the late] Larry Hunter. After graduating in2016 he returned to UNC Asheville and spent the spring and summer there before accepting an Assistant Coach position at Spire Academy. Coach Burlingham remained at Spire until January of 2017 before moving onto Carolina Day School.
WVU Tech hired him as the top Assistant Coach and he helped Bob Williams guide the Golden Bears to a 30-5 record, River States Conference regular season and conference tournament championship, and advancement to the NAIA National Tournament second round. Following the historic run at WVU Tech, he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at Central Michigan under Keno Davis, where he remained until 2021 when he was named the Director of Basketball Operations at McNeese State.

Coach Will Long shares his journey from playing JV basketball at Reinhardt University to recently being hired as an Assistant Coach at Oglethorpe University.
After playing JV basketball at Reinhardt he was moved up to the varsity team as a senior, after graduating he went on to be the Head Coach at multiple high schools - including his alma mater, Howard School.
He's spent time coaching at Emmanuel College and Reinhardt University as well, Coach Long has a knack for teaching the game and being a detail oriented coach. He's worked camps at UNC, Kennesaw State, Mercer, and Nike Basketball in addition to having worked in radio.
In addition to coaching at Brandon Hall School the past few seasons, he married his college sweetheart, served as the Assistant AD earned his MBA in sports management from Shorter, and became a father! A lifelong learner, Will has genuine relationships with his coaching peers and all of his players.

Coach Dwight Thorne II shares his journey from growing up in Texas to having a stellar career at Colorado, playing professionally - and now as a college basketball coach.
He was a standout at Colorado under Ricardo Patton and Jeff Bzdelik before embarking on a professional basketball playing career in Germany, the NBA Development League, Athens, and then Croatia.
Brian Gregory hired him as a Graduate Assistant at Georgia Tech and after the season he decided to move on to the University of Denver to serve on Rodney Billups coaching staff as their Director of Basketball Operations - and later as an Assistant Coach.

Coach Tyrone Nesby shares his journey from JUCO to UNLV and eventually to the NBA. He shares how his JUCO experience impacted his career and what it was like to led UNLV to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since Coach Tarkanian led the Runnin' Rebels to the Final Four against Duke. After going undrafted he played in the CBA and eventually signed with the LA Clippers. He was on the team while Donald Sterling was the owner, Elgin Baylor was the General Manager and coaches like Alvin Gentry, Dennis Johnson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were on staff. He was traded to the Washington Wizards where he would play alongside Michael Jordan, Coach Nesby talks about that first practice when MJ came out of retirement and what it was like to play alongside MJ. After his time in the NBA he played overseas before finishing his career in the ABA. Coach Nesby transitioned into coaching AAU and then took over at Muhlenberg HS in Pennsylvania, where he coached a team that had very little success and took them into state championship. Three years after being hired he was named Coach of the Year on the Pennsylvania Sportswriters Class 5A All-State team. Coach Nesby stepped down as the Head Coach at Muhlenberg HS to move out west and pursue college coaching opportunities. Currently he's training players in Las Vegas and working on some projects, he provides tremendous insights as a player and as a coach!

Coach Donny Lind shares his journey from attempting to walk on at Loyola Maryland to becoming one of the highly touted up-and-coming coaches in NCAA Division 1. He was a Student Manager under Jimmy Patsos at Loyola Maryland before being hired as a Graduate Assistant at VCU under Shaka Smart. Coach Lind was eventually promoted to Video Coordinator, while at VCU they had unprecedented success winning 84 games, a CAA Championship, and appeared in the NCAA Tournament in each of his three years on staff. In 2011 the Rams advanced to the Final Four. Jamion Christian hired him at Mount St Mary's where they would win the NEC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in Lind's first season on staff. In April of 2016 Coach Lind was named to National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Under Armor 30-under-30 list and subsequently moved on to Radford to be an Assistant Coach under Mike Jones. During his five seasons at Radford he was an integral part of their regular season and post season success. He was instrumental in the development of Carlik Jones and was named one of the top 50 Impactful Low Major Coach in DI and the third best AC in the Big South by Jeff Goodman, Stadium Basketball Insider. After Wes Miller accepted the job at Cincinnati, Mike Jones was named the Head Coach at UNCG and Coach Lind went with him.

Coach Chris Richardson shares his journey from growing up in West Virginia to spending 10+ years as a D2 Assistant Coach, and finally returned to West Virginia to be the Head Coach at Wheeling University. He didn't take the typical Manager route, he covered the men's basketball team for the newspaper and helped out at Fairmont State while being a student at West Virginia University. Coach Mason Padgett shares his journey from coaching youth basketball while he was in HS to coaching a 5 start on ESPN2.
For someone under 30 years old he's probably coached more talent than coached who've coached for 30 years might ever coach, while running cross country at Catawba he also was an Assistant Coach for the men's basketball team under Jim Baker. After serving as an Assistant Coach for a few years he took over Lake Norman Christian and quickly turned them into a small "mom and pop" private school team into a nationally ranked team that scheduled teams like Oak Hill.
Coach Padgett talks about coaching Mikey Williams and his eventual parting of ways from Lake Norman Christian, as well as what he's learned from that experience. Coach Ernie Nestor shares his journey from growing up in West Virginia to being a NCAA D1 basketball coach for over 50 years!
The West Virginia native talks about how he got in start as a high school coach before breaking into the college ranks at James Madison University. Wake Forest hired him (for the first of three stints) and he coached Muggsy Bogues before moving across the country to coach at California to reunite with former JMU Head Coach Lou Campenelli. George Mason hired him to be their Head Coach after Rick Barnes left for Providence, Coach Nestor led them to their first NCAA Tournament in school history in only his second season in Fairfax. After GMU he returned to Wake Forest where he coached Tim Duncan, Josh Howard, Randolph Childress, Rusty LaRue, Darius Songaila, Rodney Rogers, and other Wake Forest greats. Once Coach Odom departed for South Carolina he went with him before eventually being named the Head Coach at Elon.
Coach Nestor eventually became a NBA Scout for the New Jersey Nets before accepting a position at Penn State under Ed DeChellis. Frank Haith hired him to be an Assistant Coach at Missouri - which was in the only Power 5 Conference that he hadn't coached at yet. While at Missouri he coached Kim English who is currently the Head Coach at George Mason. The veteran coach reunited with Ed DeChellis at Navy and remained there until he retired in 2017.
The NABC "Guardian of the Game" recipient came out of retirement to coach alongside Brad Greenberg with the Kosovo National Team and when Danny Manning called him about returning to Wake Forest, he returned to Winston Salem.

Her journey has taken her from coast to coast and multiple time zones, she talks about getting married an the sacrifices that were made to make the marriage work. Despite being a diehard North Carolina Tar Heels fan, he's become a fixture in the small college basketball landscape. He has been at Lees-McRae for ten years, previously Coach Hardin has been a coach on both the men's and women's side, including the the NCAA D1, D2, and NAIA levels.

Coach Patrice Days shares his journey from growing up in Baltimore to moving multiple times, coaching at multiple schools at multiple levels. After cutting his teeth at New Orleans he moved to Charlotte where he was their Director of Player Development. Despite being at the NCAA DI level he decided to move to Florida and coach high school basketball. He coached at Arlington Country Day School and helped turn them into a national powerhouse before moving on to Vermont Academy. Coach Days would get his first Assistant Coach position at the NCAA level when Joe Golding hired at Abilene Christian, from there he moved onto Wright State, and then Southern Utah. Cliff Ellis hired him to his coaching staff at Coastal Carolina where they advanced to two postseason tournaments in four seasons. Coach Days talks about working for a legend, and what made him decide to become an Assistant Coach at East Tennessee State after they'd been getting bad press as of late.

Coach Pat Monaghan shares his journey from growing up in Chicago to becoming a NCAA DI Assistant Coach. After high school he attended Harper and earned a 3rd Team NJCAA All American honor in 2004 before transferring to Lewis University (DII). When his playing days were over he became a Graduate Assistant at Wayne State College. He returned to his JUCO roots after finishing his GA program at Wayne State, he accepted an Assistant Coach position at Coffeyville CC from 2008 to 2010. Coffeyville won the Jayhawk East Conference Championship in 2009, and during his time there the team went 46-20. He had a homecoming of sorts when he was hired at Loyola Chicago. Coach Monaghan shares his memories of Sister Jean. After being let go at Loyola Chicago he landed at Minnesota State (NCAA DII) - where the team advanced to four NCAA Tournaments and won a paid of Conference titles. UW Milwaukee hired him and he spent two years at the Horizon League program. During his two years there they were one of the few teams who beat nationally ranked Loyola Chicago in 2017-18 prior to their "Cinderella" run in the NCAA Tournament. In 2019 Southern Illinois hired him and he's remained on Coach Bryan Mullins' coaching staff ever since. In addition to coaching at Southern Illinois he is also active in "Rising Coaches".

Coach Graham Bousley shares his journey from playing high school basketball with future NBA players to coaching NCAA DI basketball.
After growing up in California he decided to attend Wisconsin and be a Student Manager under Bo Ryan. Things didn't go as planned, but he did eventually help the Badgers make a NCAA Tournament run as the Head Student Manager.
From Wisconsin he moved onto VCU where he was the Graduate Assistant under Shaka Smart. During his two years in Richmond they made back-to-back NCAA Tournaments. Mike Rhodes was named the Head Coach at Rice and he brought Graham with him as the Director of Basketball Operations.
Jamion Christian hired Bousley as an Assistant Coach at Mount Saint Mary's, and he has coached alongside him during his tenure at Siena - and now at George Washington. Coach Bousley speaks about the struggles of the 2020-21 season and the optimism about the future of George Washington University men's basketball.

Coach Randy Peele shares his journey from growing up in Virginia to becoming a college coach for nearly 40 years!
After graduating from Virginia Wesleyan he accepted his first coaching job at St. Michael's College (VT) before moving on to Tennessee Martin under Tom Hancock. From Tennessee Martin he took a pay cut to get his first taste of coaching NCAA DI basketball at Campbell. Coach Peele ended up leaving for conference foe UNCG where he would eventually be promoted to Head Coach.
He took UNCG to the NCAA Tournament after winning the conference tournament in his first season as Head Coach. Virginia Tech added him to their coaching staff but after three years there was a coaching change, he was out of coaching for a year before Gregg Marshall hired him at Winthrop in 2003. He succeeded Gregg Marshall after he took the Wichita State job and in his 1st season at Head Coach his team beat Georgia Tech, a ranked Miami team and won the Big South Regular Season and Tournament Championship. Coach Peele is still the only coach in the history of the Big South Conference to lead two different schools to the NCAA Tournament!
Winthrop decided to fire him despite a very good tenure at the helm, Mark Byington then hired him at Georgia Southern 2013-14, and his former co-worker Dana Ford hired him as the Associate HC at Tennessee State. After a four year stint at TSU he moved onto coach at Texas Southern under Johnny Jones. Coach Peele is a true basketball lifer who speaks very candidly about being a white coach at a HBCU, being fired, his relationship with Gregg Marshall and his desire to become a Head Coach again!

Coach Steve Howes shares his journey from playing JV basketball as a junior at Our Lady of Good Counsel to becoming the all time winningest coach in the history of Catholic University basketball. I proudly served under him from 2017 to 2019 at Catholic University!
After transferring from Frostburg to Catholic University he played for Coach Mike Lonergan. After graduating from Catholic he returned to his old high school stomping grounds and coached at Our Lady of Good Counsel HS. Eventually Coach Howes returned to Catholic University to coach with his mentor [Mike Lonergan]. He helped to recruit most of the 2001 NCAA DIII National Championship winning team and then returned to DC and served as an Assistant Coach. He would later succeed him after Mike moved on to be an Assistant Coach at the University of Maryland.
During his time coaching high school he coached future pro basketball players such as Roger Mason Jr, James Gist, Chris Monroe and others. While coaching at Catholic University he also coached future pro basketball players.
He's now the Athletic Director as his alma mater [Our Lady of Good Counsel] and is one of the few people who can say that they've only worked at their alma maters. His legacy lives on at Catholic University as well as his impressive coaching tree. In this interview he explains why he took a chance on hiring me when no other college programs did, and what he misses about coaching.

Coach Ryan McIntrye shares his journey from growing up in Northern Virginia to being the Video Coordinator at West Virginia University. He became a Student Manager and eventually became the Head Student Manager at WVU under Bob Huggins. After graduating he moved onto the University of South Carolina where he helped them reach the Final Four as a Graduate Assistant. After his time serving under Frank Martin he moved onto Austin Peay as their Director of Basketball Operations under Matt Figger. Coach Huggins offered him the opportunity to return to West Virginia as their Video Coordinator. He's learned from some BIG time coaches and is a rising star in the profession!

Coach Wyckoff shares her journey from growing up in Ohio to WNBA player and eventually becoming the Associate HC at her alma mater [Florida State University]. She talks about playing HS basketball at the start of the ABL and WNBA's inception and her decision to commit to FSU - even after a coaching change took place. After FSU she was drafted by the Orlando Miracle (now the Connecticut Sun) and played nearly a decade of professional basketball alongside the likes Rebecca Lobo (Connecticut Sun) and Sue Bird (USA Basketball) and for great coaches such as Mike Thibault. Once her playing days were over she was an Assistant Coach at a Lakota East HS in Ohio for two years before returning to Tallahassee to be on staff at Florida State under her college coach [Sue Semrau]. She was promoted to Associate HC in 2018 and also started the "Moms in Coaching" organization after becoming a mother to her daughter Avery, the group currently has about 60 coaches and they meet at the Final Four each year. Coach Wyckoff shares her thoughts on men coaching women's basketball and women coaching men's basketball as well talking about what rules she'd like to see changed at the NCAA level.

Coach Rob Burke shares his journey from growing up the son of a college basketball coach to becoming a successful college coach in his own right. Coach Burke played at Chowan after they transitioned from NJCAA to NCAA DIII, but grew up with the likes of Nate McMillian playing for his father [the late but GREAT Bob Burke]. He followed in his father's footsteps when he was a player/coach overseas and then entered the college ranks at Limestone working under Larry Epperly. From Limestone he moved onto Campbell before becoming a Head Coach at Spartanburg Methodist College (JUCO). His teams at SMC went 117-67 and he helped send 32 players D1 & D2. He was named the NJCAA Region 10 COY in 2008-09. From Spartanburg he moved onto be an Assistant Coach at The Citadel. After a four year run at The Citadel he joined Mark Byington's coaching staff as the DOBO at Georgia Southern and helped to turn that program around. CB McGrath was hired at UNC Wilmington and hired Coach Burke as his DOBO, each season he was promoted - eventually becoming the Interim HC after starting the season as the "3rd Assistant Coach". Ultimately the staff was dismissed and he took an unpaid Assistant Coach position at Colorado College (NCAA DIII) in January of 2021. After the season he was hired for his dream job - the Head Coach at his alma mater where he'll coach on the "Bob Burke Court". This was recorded PRIOR to the Chowan HC job opening and him being hired

Coach Rich Corsetto shares his coaching journey from growing up in New Jersey to playing JUCO basketball and baseball in Maryland before a Hall of Fame career at Southern Mississippi, and eventually winning over 700 games at the HS and JUCO level. During his year at Harford County Community College he averaged 38.2 PPG. Between 1990-96, he led PCCC to two NJCAA National Tournaments, and in 2005 he coach PCCC to a fourth-place finish nationally. Coach Corsetto was named NJCAA Region XIX Coach of the Year three times (1991, 1993, 2005). He was inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame in 2013, on his hall of fame career he's coached 28 All-Region players, 6 All Americans and 32 All Garden State Athletic Conference players. His overall coaching record 747 wins 322 losses in 38 years including 455 wins at the college level.

Coach Pete Quinn shares his journey from growing up in the Bronx to becoming a college basketball coach.
Just like so many of us, Coach Quinn has made countless sacrifices to coach basketball, he's worked a number of odd jobs and worked crazy hours to allow him to coach the game that he loves.
His career is anything but conventional, he's coached at various levels and has served in multiple coaching roles.

Coach Darris Nichols shares his journey from growing up in Radford Virginia to playing for both John Beilein and Bob Huggins at West Virginia then becoming a NCAA DI coach.
His first two seasons West Virginia reached the Elite Eight and then the Sweet Sixteen, Coach Beilein left WVU after his junior campaign and Coach Bob Huggins was hired. Shortly after his professional playing career ended, Darris returned to Morgantown to beging his coaching career.
After finishing his GA program at WVU he moved onto Northern Kentucky where he spent a couple seasons before joining Coach Mike Young's staff at Wofford. Coach Mike White hired Darris at Louisiana Tech and Coach Nichols spent the season there before going with Coach White to the University of Florida.

Coach Patrick Wallace shares his journey from growing up in the "Hoop State" to being a coach at Loyola Chicago.
He grew up in the Charlotte area, then spent a year of post-grad at Brewster Academy. Patrick committed to be a preferred walk-on at NC State and eventually transferred to Charleston Southern and played there on a full scholarship.
After a successful playing career he became a Graduate Assistant at Northwestern under Chris Collins and remained there for two years while completing his master's degree in sports administration.
Porter Moser hired him to be the Video Coordinator at Loyola Chicago and he completed his second season on staff at the MVC powerhouse. We talk all things from being in the NCAA Tournament "Bubble", Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and of course - SISTER JEAN!

Coach Justin Bradley shares his journey from growing up in North Carolina and being a Student Athlete and then a Student Assistant at Guilford College (NCAA DIII) to becoming the Associate Head Coach at Dartmouth.
After graduating from Guilford he became the Director of Operations at NC Central and Coach LeVelle Moton promoted him to Graduate Manager the next season. The role/promotion was calculated - and Coach Bradley's decision!
Dartmouth hired him in 2015 and he served as an Assistant Coach before the Head Coach was let go. Despite most of his friends encouraging him not to "drop down" to NCAA DIII, he accepted a position on staff at Williams College. After two years at Williams he returned to Dartmouth and was promoted to Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

Coach Evan Lavery shares his journey from playing JUCO and eventually becoming the Head Coach at a JUCO, and now serving as an Assistant Coach at Emporia State.
He helped build Rock Valley College (NJCAA DIII) into a national powerhouse that won multiple NJCAA National Tournament Championships. After Craig Doty accepted the Head Coach position at Graceland, Coach Lavery took over and had a successful run in his own right. Coach Doty offered him a job on his staff at Emporia State and he's been on staff the past three seasons as an Assistant Coach.

Coach Tony Shaver shares his coaching journey from being a Student Assistant with the UNC JV Team while also playing for Dean Smith to becoming the all time winningest coach in the history of Hampden-Sydney as well as William & Mary.
While playing in Chapel Hill, UNC went 95-26, including a pair of trips to the NCAA Tournament in 1975 and 1976. During the 1975 season, the Tar Heels won the ACC Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16. During the 1973 and 1974 season, UNC made the National Invitational Tournament.
The High Point, NC native talks about coaching at Episcopal HS in Alexandria Virginia and what led him to chase the dream of being a college basketball coach. At Hampden-Sydney College (NCAA DIII) he coached many student athletes who went on to coach basketball (Andy Gray, Ryan Odom, Griff Aldrich, Dee Vick, Russell Turner and lots more) and he wore multiple hats. The three-time ODAC Coach of the Year led them to 358 wins including 207 wins in the ODAC, during his 17 years at the helm. During his tenure they made 11 NCAA Tournament appearances including 7 trips to the Sweet Sixteen and 2 trips to the Final Four. They were the runner up of the 1999 NCAA DIII national championship after suffering a double-overtime 1-point loss to Bo Ryan's University of Wisconsin–Platteville team in the national championship game.
He left H-S as the all time leader in coaching victories to become the Head Coach at William & Mary. In Williamsburg he was a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year and was twice selected as a finalist for the National Mid-Major Coach of the Year. The Tribe has posted four of its nine 20-win seasons under Coach Shaver.
W&M recorded three-straight 20-win seasons in 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16, marking just the second streak of three years in program history. The Tribe captured the CAA regular season Championship in 2015. Twice, Shaver led the program to berths in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), only the second and third post season bids in program history. His teams reached 4 CAA tournament championship appearances and even notched victories over ACC programs Wake Forest and Maryland. His win total at William & Mary is more than twice as much as any other coach in the history of the program.

Coach Kenton Aubrey shares his journey from growing up in Shepherdsville, Kentucky to being on the coaching staff of a Rick Pitino disciple, and now coaching at a top tier NAIA program. After originally starting out as a college athlete, Kenton quickly found his calling as a basketball coach. He coached HS and took his college courses online before transferring to Western Kentucky (NCAA DI) where he served as a Student Manager under Ray Harper. Upon graduating from Western Kentucky he was hired as a Graduate Assistant at Purdue Fort Wayne (NCAA DI) and eventually worked his way up to their Director of Basketball Operations. Coach Kenton moved onto Arkansas State as their Director of Scouting for the 2019-20 season before returning to his NAIA roots at Indiana Tech. In his first season at Indiana Tech he helped them win their conference tournament and advance to the NAIA National Tournament.

Coach Aaron Goodman shares his coaching journey from growing up in Maryland to becoming the Head Coach of a NCAA basketball program.
The Boston University graduate is currently the Head Coach at Washington College (NCAA DIII) after getting his start in coaching at the Sandy Spring Friends School in Olney, Md., where he also served as a junior high school Physical Education teacher. From there he moved onto Marymount University (NCAA DIII) and spent four seasons there before moving onto the US Naval Academy (NCAA DI) where he served on both Billy Lange and Ed DeChellis' coaching staffs.
On top of his Assistant Coach role, Coach Goodman was the HC of the Navy Basketball Development Team (the Academy’s junior varsity program) for three years. The Development Team’s record went from 5-8 to 10-5 to 12-3 over his three seasons as HC. Goodman also served as an Active Duty Human Resource Operations Officer for the United States Navy for five years.
After nine years in Annapolis, he was named HC at Washington College. Last season the Shoremen earned their second consecutive Centennial Conference Tournament bid, the first time the program has done that in twenty years. He's one of the hardest working guys in the business and is someone who's paid his dues.

Coach Andrew Sachs shares his coaching journey from growing up in Maryland to coaching at the NCAA DI, DII, DIII, JUCO & HS ranks.
After playing NCAA DIII at Salisbury he began his coaching career as the GA at his alma mater. He eventually moved onto Virginia Wesleyan where he coached tennis and basketball while also serving as the SID. From Virginia Wesleyan he moved onto Indiana University of Pennsylvania (NCAA DII) where he had great success. Coach Sachs moved back to Maryland where he coached Rudy Gay at Archbishop Spalding HS and worked for AND1. Following a great run at Spalding he moved onto the NCAA DI ranks at Holy Cross serving on Ralph Willard's coaching staff. Following NIT & NCAA Tournament appearances Coach Sachs was hired at Bethany College as the Head Coach at Bethany College (NCAA DIII). He transformed that program into a nationally relevant program while also serving as the Head Coach of the Men's Tennis program at Bethany. When his alma mater [Salisbury] offered him the Head Coach position it was a dream job that he couldn't turn down. He led the Sea Gulls to a 59-24 record in his three seasons at the helm. After they made a coaching change he became the Head Coach at Chesapeake College (JUCO). In his first season he turned a team that hadn't posted a winning record in seven seasons to a 18-9 record.

Coach Matt Elkin shares his coaching journey. In October 2020 he was hired as the DOBO for Yale Men's Basketball. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2014, during the 2011-12 season he served as a student manager for the UW men’s basketball team. The Badgers finished 27-10 overall and reached the Sweet 16 of the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Coach Elkin also served as Head Manager and Student Assistant for two seasons at Edgewood College (NCAA DIII) where he helped the Eagles reach the NACC Championship in 2014.
He earned his Master’s degree from Northeastern in 2016, where Coach Elkin served as the Graduate Manager for the men’s basketball team. In his first year, the Huskies posted a 23-12 record, captured the CAA Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Coach Elkin spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach and teacher at Vermont Academy in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). While at VA, he helped mentor 13 student athletes who went on to play Division I college basketball, including McDonald’s All-American Simi Shittu, currently playing with the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League, and first team All-ACC selection Jordan Nwora.
After Vermont Academy he moved to California and was an Assistant Coach at the Windward School in Los Angeles. In his two seasons, Windward posted a 53-15 overall record, made back-to-back Division I state tournament appearances and captured the 2020 CIF Southern Section Division I championship. In addition, he served as head coach for Windward’s eighth grade boys basketball team and taught middle school physical education.
During his time in Los Angeles, he also worked with West Coast Elite, one of the premier event operators and grassroots basketball programs in the nation.

Coach Brian Hoberecht shares his coaching journey from growing up in Oklahoma to becoming the Head Coach at Kilgore College (NJCAA D1). Brian is in his 21st year as a Head Coach as at the college level. He began his coaching journey as a Graduate Assistant at Emporia State where he then spent four seasons before accepting the same position at Dodge City Community College in 1997. Coach Hoebrecht became the Dodge City CC Head Coach in 2000 and even coached some minor league basketball in the offseason. He remained in Kansas until 2008 when he was hired at Kilgore College, he's taken Kilgore to new heights, in 2012-13 he was named Region XIV Coach of the Year after leading KC to a 27-6 record, finished 15th in the nation. His teams are routinely ranked nationally and in 2013-14 his team finished with the #2 ranking in NJCAA D1. His former players have not only had success at the four year level, but he's coached over 100 professional basketball players. Coach Hoberecht has been a clinician at NABC Final Four Championships, Nike Championships and has even coached in the Grand Bahamas during a summer camp 2004-05. Coach shares his philosophy on balancing recruiting and helping his current student athletes recruited by four year programs and so much more in this interview.

Coach Butch Estes shares his journey from growing up in High Point, NC to being on cusp of notching his 600th win. After playing on the Freshman team at the University of North Carolina he became a Student Assistant under Dean Smith. Upon graduation became an Assistant Coach at The Citadel, East Carolina, and then Rice. His first Head Coach experience was at Presbyterian, where he spent five seasons before accepting the same position at Furman. After being let go at Furman, he served as a basketball analyst for Fox before Guilford College hired him to lead their program. His first coaching experience at the JUCO level was at Miami-Dade CC where he went 69-22 during his time there before accepting an Assistant Coach position at The University of Miami under Frank Haith. After his wife accepted a job in Washington, he became an Assistant Coach at Seattle before returning to Florida where he took over at Palm Beach State. Coach Estes spent three seasons at the helm before Barry University hired him. He's coached at the NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO levels. Coach Estes has won 11 Coach of the Year awards in his career, including each stop in his coaching career.

Coach Melissa D'Amico shares her journey from growing up in New York to playing under the legendary Coach McGraw at Notre Dame and then eventually becoming an Assistant Coach at Wake Forest.
She was a part of four NCAA Tournament teams during her college years - including a Sweet Sixteen appearance her senior season. After her college playing days she played overseas while also helping out with a pair of Czech Republic junior national teams, DSK Karlin in Prague and Slovanka in Vodochody. In her final season playing overseas she realized that she wanted to become a coach, the story she shares is wonderful.
Once her playing career ended she became a coach, her first college job was at Colgate under former Big East foe Nicci Hays Fort at Colgate University. From Colgate she went on to serve as an Assistant Coach at Yale before joining Coach Jen Hoover's coaching staff at Wake Forest.
Coach D'Amico discusses what led her to start her own nonprofit and how her and her fiancé Matt Graves (Assistant Coach at Mount St. Mary's & Friend of the podcast) make the long distance relationship work + how both of them coaching adds to the dynamic.

Coach Andrew Brown shares his coaching journey from growing up in Pontiac, Michigan to becoming a NCAA D1 Assistant Coach at Gardner-Webb University. After a successful HS basketball career he went the JUCO route before moving onto and graduating from Mercer. He returned to Mercer as the Graduate Assistant under the legendary Bob Hoffman. Coach Brown coached at the JUCO level before Richie Scheuler hires him as his Assistant Coach at St. Andrews. Eventually Coach Brown was named the HC and the team increased their win total each of the three seasons at the helm. From St. Andrews he went on to be a full time Assistant Coach at Winston Salem State. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach prior to the 2016-2017 campaign and then served as Interim HC following the 2017-2018 season. Jay Joyner hired Coach Brown to be on his coaching staff at North Carolina A&T in 2018 and he was a big part of their 19-13 record, including their 13-3 record in the MEAC. Tim Craft hired Coach Brown just prior to the 2019-20 season for his coaching staff at Gardner-Webb. Each day Coach Brown commuted roughly four hours round trip and did that for about the entire season. He's one of the good guys in coaching and values genuine relationships.

Coach Lance Egnatz shares his journey from playing at two NCAA D2 programs to becoming the Interim Head Coach at Clayton State University.
He began his college basketball AND baseball career at Penn State University – Beaver before transferring to and Lynn University. After graduating he moved to Florida began working at Somerset Academy as the HC, Assistant AD and ran the strength & conditioning program. Polk State hired him for his first collegiate coaching job. While at the D1 JUCO he helped turn that program that went 13-16 in his 1st season to 25-5 record and earned a #4 ranking in the State of Florida.
Coach Egnatz reunited with one of his former Assistant Coaches from Lynn University when Josh Schertz hired him at Lincoln Memorial University. From 2008 to 2012 he helped elevate the program from a 14-14 record in their first season to national powerhouse over his final three seasons in Harrogate.
He got his opportunity to join the coaching staff at Tennessee-Martin (NCAA D1) from 2012 to 2014, in his 2nd season he was promoted to Associate HC. Coach Egnatz shares how his former coach and boss helped him after being let go at Tennessee-Martin and what he did during his year away from coaching college basketball.
Currently he's in his 6th season in Morrow, Georgia. During his time at Clayton State they've made three NCAA Division II Tournament Appearances (2 Regional Semifinals, 1 Regional Quarterfinal).

Coach Josh Merkel shares his journey from his playing days to his numerous individual and team accolades he's received as a NCAA Head Coach.
He played HS basketball at St. John Prospect Hall and then continued his career at Salisbury. While at Salisbury he played under two Head Coaches and had a successful college basketball career. After graduating cum laude in 2001 you returned to St John’s Prospect Hall and coach the JV team and assisted with the Varsity from 2001-04.
Coach John Beilein hired him as a Graduate Assistant at West Virginia and he parlayed that into a GA position at Eastern Kentucky - where you remained on staff afterwards as an Assistant Coach for five seasons.
He returned to his D3 roots joining the coaching staff at Randolph Macon during the 2010-11 season under Nathan Davis. After a successful stint at R-MC as an Assistant Coach his alma mater named him Head Coach after his former HC retired.
After four successful seasons in Salisbury, Randolph Macon hired him their Head Coach - just the 5th for the R-MC Basketball program since 1956. He discussed how tough of a decision it was to leave his alma mater and what led him to leave for Randolph Macon.
In his 1st season at R-MC the team posted a 13-3 conference mark and shared the ODAC regular season title with Guilford. The Yellow Jackets went 17-9 overall. In his 2nd season he was named the ODAC Coach of the Year after leading R-MC to a 12-4 record in conference play as well as winning the ODAC regular-season title. The 2018-19 season resulted in a 27-4 overall record including a 15-1 ODAC record, the team's 3rd straight regular season title and R-MC returned to the NCAA Tournament advancing to the Sweet Sixteen. You’re again named ODAC Coach of the Year
This past season the team goes 28-2 (15-1 in the ODAC) prior to COVID ending the NCAA Tournament prematurely. Coach Merkel talks about he's been able to transform R-MC into a team routinely ranked high in the NCAA rankings not being able to finish the the NCAA Tournament after capturing both the ODAC regular-season and tournament titles after winning their 1st two NCAA games.

Coach Brian Eskildsen shares his coaching journey from playing JV basketball at WT Woodson High School to becoming the top Assistant Coach at Harvard.
Brian grew up in Fairfax, VA and attended WT Woodson High School where he was cut from the freshman team, led the JV team in scoring, and then was cut from the varsity team. After graduating in 2005 he attended Tennessee and tried to walk-on the team, after not making the team he began playing intramurals and caught the eye of the Lady Vols coaching staff. They invited him to be a practice player and serve on their "Scout Team". He shares some stories about the late Pat Summit and how he was a member of two NCAA National Champion teams.
In 2009-10 Joe Pasternack hired him for his first college coaching job at the University of New Orleans as their Director of Basketball Operations, he plateaued that unpaid coaching job into a full time position at Stanford University working under Johnny Dawkins. After serving as their Video Coordinator and helping them to back to back NIT appearances - including winning the 2012 NIT Championship. After leaving to become an Assistant Coach at Rice University, Stanford benefited from the foundation he helped build and Stanford made the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
At Rice University they didn't have the level of success that they had hoped for, but he gained experience recruiting and working at another high academic college basketball program. Fellow WT Woodson graduate Tommy Amaker hired him to join the coaching staff at Harvard and they've gone on to have unprecedented success in Cambridge. Recently Brian was named one of the top assistant coaches in the Ivy League in a poll of Ivy League coaches. The Crimson are recruiting nationally ranked players and consistently playing in the postseason.

Coach Chuck Henry shares his journey from growing up in the DMV area and how basketball has taken him around the world and now is the Head Coach of the Fairmont Heights Hornets (2017 Maryland 1A State Champions).
Coach Henry grew up in the DMV and excelled at multiple sports, he ended up going to Morris College and then transferring to Barton College where he played under the legendary Ron Lievense, After graduating from Barton he ended up playing overseas where he averaged nearly a triple double, including a league best 33PPG, 16RPG, 8 Steals in 2008-09. He also recorded 4 triple-doubles and had three 50-point games, while in Germany he began coaching and training youth basketball.
He returned stateside after an injury and joined the coaching staff at Barton College under Coach Lievense, Coach Henry helped lead them to a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA D2 National Tournament before moving back to the Washington DC area where he became a teacher and coached at Catholic University under Steve Howes.
After coaching at the NCAA D2 and D3 level, Coach Henry got hired at Longwood (D1) and shares how that was arguably the lowest point on his life. He shares in depth about the depression he suffered from after the first time in his life that he didn't achieve a high level of success. He began coaching at Caesar Chavez HS as an Assistant Coach and then taking over at Fairmont Heights HS the following season. Coach Henry has already led them to one state championship and he continues to pour his heart and soul into coaching those young men - as well as the Team Takeover AAU team that he coaches too.

Coach Chris Cottrell shares his coaching journey from growing up in New York to becoming a NCAA basketball coach and now being back in New York and running his own HS basketball program.
Chris is the son of a coach, and always knew that he wanted to coach basketball at some level. He attended High Point University and became a Student Manager under Bart Lundy during his first season at HPU. While at High Point he worked alongside guys like Josh Schertz, Don Burgess, Sean Woods, Justin Furr, and some solid managers. He quickly took on the role of a Student Assistant, he was able to manage his time with being in a fraternity, being a high academic student, and working long hours with High Point MBB. Coach Lundy gave Chris the opportunity to become the program's first Graduate Assistant in the long and storied history of HPU Hoops.
When Josh Schertz was named the Head Coach at Lincoln Memorial University (D2), Chris was one of his 1st hires and worked relentlessly to build LMU into the national powerhouse that it is today. Coach Cottrell accepted the HC position at Davis & Elkins College (D2) in West Virginia in 2013 and he did a very good job during his tenure. We talk about him offering me my first college basketball coaching job and reminisce on working camps together. Chris left D&E and took a year off from coaching, then returned to LMU for one final season before moving back to New York.
He left the NCAA ranks to takeover a HS basketball program and become a teacher. Recently Coach Cottrell began The Bonafide Basketball Podcast which is dedicated to covering and promoting NCAA D2 basketball.

Coach Ryan Saunders shares his coaching journey from growing up in Florida to becoming the first HC is the history of Converse College's men's basketball program.
After a successful high school playing career, he attended Barry University and was a three-year captain, helping led them to their first-ever NCAA Division II tournaments appearances. Ryan finished as the all-time assist leader at Barry University after playing under the late Cesar Odio. He stayed eight addition years on staff coaching under Coach Odio for six seasons, and then his final two were under Coach Butch Estes before accepting an AC position at Belmont Abbey. While on staff at Belmont Abbey he served under Martin Unger, Billy Taylor, and then Dan Ficke. eight addition years on staff under Butch Estes before accepting an AC position at Belmont Abbey. Coach Nate Loesner shares his journey from growing up in Cedar Falls, Iowa to eventually being an Assistant Coach for the Chicago Bulls.
Nate was born without his left hand, but he never let than hinder his love of sports. He went on to earn 11 varsity letters in four sports during his playing days at NU High School. After meeting Tim Floyd at a summer camp, he stayed in touch and decided to attend Iowa State as a Student Manager. Nate attempting to be a walk-on for the Iowa State baseball team he was cut but continued to play in wood bat leagues where eventually he caught the attention of the coaching staff and earned a spot on the team as a senior.
After graduating from Iowa State he returned to NU High School as the Head Coach for both the boy's basketball team as well as the baseball team. He then went on to coach at Ames HS before chasing his dream to coach college basketball. Coach Larry Eustachy met with him prior to moving down to Southern Miss and he agreed to hire him as a Graduate Assistant - he quickly was promoted and ended up spending a total of six years on the coaching staff at Southern Miss.
Fred Hoiberg hired Nate to be a Graduate Assistant at Iowa State, he was then promoted to the Director of Player Development before joining the Chicago Bulls as their Video Coordinator after Coach Hoiberg was hired as the Head Coach. He quickly established himself as a hard worker and the following season he was tasked with being the first Head Coach in the history of the Windy City Bulls (NBA G League), where he had players from other NBA franchises on his roster and was in constant communication with the Chicago Bulls coaching staff and management.
Coach Hoiberg made him an Assistant Coach of the Chicago Bulls in 2018 and despite Coach Hoiberg being let go, Nate was retained and his contract was extended. He's a terrific example of a coach's coach who's also a player's coach at the same time. Coach Loesner will be back on a coaching staff and continuing to impact lives in no time.

Coach Will Martin shares his journey from growing up in Tennessee and going to Kentucky and eventually becoming a Student Manager at UK under John Calipari. He was a part of teams that reached the Elite 8 on three occasions, the Final Four on two occasions and during his time as the Head Manager - the 2012 National Championship! Coach Martin also served as captain of the University of Kentucky Ethics Debate team from 2009-2011.
After Kentucky he helped train the 1st pick of the NBA Draft [Anthony Davis] and lived with him in New Orleans. Coach Martin went on to serve as the Graduate Assistant and Video Coordinator at the University of Tulsa from 2013-2015. He served under Danny Manning during the season that the team won the Conference USA Championship, and then under Frank Haith during his seconds season. If being a Graduate Assistant and Video Coordinator on top of taking care of business in the classroom, Martin also served as Senator for the College of Education during his time in Oklahoma.
From Tulsa Coach Martin moved to San Francisco to be the Director of Basketball Operations on Rex Walters' coaching staff. After San Francisco he drove 30+ hours home to Nashville, then sold real estate and trained kids for free. He was the 4th Volunteer Assistant Coach at his alma mater - Battle Ground Academy and then served as the Director of Athletic Admissions and Assistant Coach at Martin Methodist.
Coach Martin is also involved in a prison ministry project – “Against the Grain” – where he serves as a volunteer teacher of the “180 Project.”

Coach Brandt Danals shares his coaching journey from growing up in a "canoe town" [Loudounville, OH] and now being on the coaching staff at North Alabama.
He played at Ashland University (D2) under the late Roger Lyons before becoming a Student Assistant under him. After Coach Lyons retired, John Ellenwood was hired and Brandt met with him and expressed a desire to play again so he suited up his senior season.
Crestview High School hired Brandt to be their Head Coach straight out of college at the age of 23, after a few seasons he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at Indiana Tech (NAIA) and after seven days he was promoted to the Assistant Coach position . Not only did he serve as an Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball, but he also would later serve as the Head Coach for Men's & Women's Tennis in addition to his basketball position.
Coach Danals accepted an Athletic Director and Head Men's Basketball Coach job at Silver Lake College (which became Holy Family College) and led the program to success during his tenure. Due to COVID the school shut it's doors, he discusses how he found out and what his mindset was like. Coach Danals talks about how he landed at North Alabama as their Director of Basketball Operations.

Coach Corey Schmidt shares his journey from growing up in Nashville to becoming a becoming an Assistant Coach at Southwest Mississippi CC. He got his start as a Student Manager and then Graduate Assistant under the legendary Rick Byrd at Belmont.
After Belmont he accepted an unpaid position at the University of New Orleans and eventually was the paid Director of Basketball Operations during his four seasons under Coach Mark Slessinger. After many NCAA and NIT appearances he accepted the Video Coordinator position at Wake Forest under Danny Manning, he talks about what made him leave a successful program like UNO for a team that had struggled as of late [Wake Forest].

Coach Cabral Huff shares his journey from growing up in Atlanta to becoming a Head Coach at Voorhees College (NAIA). He attended Morehouse and then coached high school basketball at multiple schools. He talks about how he learned to block out the JV game afterwards so he was able to devote all of this attention and effort to the Varsity game that followed. After becoming a Head Coach at Cedartown HS then American International School he took over as Head Coach of two semi professional teams.
He spent six seasons at the Head Coach at Saint Francis HS where he coached multiple players who would go onto play at the NCAA D1 and NBA levels. Just like so many other coaches, he aspired to coach at the college level so he took a pay cut to be the DOBO at Georgia Southern. After one season he became an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Alcorn State, and inherited a team that was being penalized for APR.
Coach Huff returned to Georgia to takeover at Duluth HS and then Holy Innocents' Episcopal School (HIES). He was hired as the Head Coach at Voorhees College in late October. Coach Huff is a true student of the game and is constantly working on his craft.

Coach Ronnie Hamilton shares his story from being a football player at Duke to becoming an Assistant Coach at Ole Miss.
Following his NFL training camp experience with the New York Giants he coached multiple sports at the high school level before accepting a Graduate Assistant position at UNC Pembroke. Upon finishing his Master's degree he accepted an Assistant Coach position at Tarleton State (then D2) in Texas. He went on to coach at Citadel, Tulane, Houston and then under Kermit Davis at Middle Tennessee State and now Ole Miss. He's coached at schools that have changed conferences and talks about how that effects their recruiting. Chris Sause shares his journey from growing up in Durham, North Carolina to becoming an Assistant Coach at Averett University (D3).
He played alongside Jay Huff (University of Virginia) in high school and knew early on that he wanted to be a coach, he attended North Carolina Wesleyan and played under John Thompson while also serving as an intern and Administrative Assistant for the team during his four years in Rocky Mount.
Coach Sause worked as a scout and social media reporter for the Phenom Hoop Report for a over a year and later accepted an Assistant Coach position at Averett University.

Coach Tim Sparks shares his journey from not playing HS basketball to becoming a college basketball Head Coach! He talks about growing up in Virginia Beach and his experience as a white male attending a local HBCU (Norfolk State). Coach Sparks has been at the D1, JUCO, D3 and HS levels and still teaches during the day and still manages to work full time hours at The Apprentice School. Jason Eaker is the Head Coach at Oklahoma Baptist University and he shares his coaching journey. He started off playing for five different Head Coaches during his playing career at multiple colleges.
Upon graduation he reunited with the Bob Hoffman - the Head Coach who recruited him to play for him at OBU. He served as his Video Coordinator at Texas Pan-America before going with him to be on staff at Oklahoma under Kelvin Sampson. Coach Eaker served as a Graduate Assistant for a year before being hired at Liberty University. He spent eight years at Liberty serving under three different Head Coaches [Randy Dunton, Dale Layer, and Ritchie McKay] and met his wife there. Coach Eaker is a religious person and so being at Liberty University was a perfect fit.
Just like so many in coaching, Coach Eaker didn't leave Liberty on his own terms, he was arrested. He speaks very openly about the circumstances and how it changed his life. Again he would reunite with Bob Hoffman, he joined his coaching staff at Mercer and they experienced lots of success! Coach Eaker talks about returning to where it all started [OBU] and the various things he's learned during his one-of-a-kind coaching journey.

Coach Trevor Dorsey shares his journey from growing up in West Virginia to becoming the Head Coach at Peninsula Catholic HS in Newport News, Virginia. He attended Marshall University and earned both his bachelors and masters degree from there. We talk about how we met while I was recruiting a player he coached back in 2018, and how he's gone about building his program into a program that has increased their win total by 3 each of the past two seasons - including beating one of the traditional state contenders. Coach Brett Ferguson shares his coaching journey and how he ended up in Cullowhee, NC coaching at Western Carolina University. In September he was promoted to an Assistant Coach after spending the previous two seasons as WCU’s Director of Basketball Operations.
He got his start in the business as a Student Manager at Michigan State University under Tom Izzo. Coach Ferguson was a was a part of back-to-back regular-season Big Ten Championships and consecutive Final Four appearances in 2009 and 2010 while serving as a Student Manager at MSU.
Following his time in Lansing he interned for the video department of the Big Ten Conference office in Chicago where he worked with both the football and basketball officials including organizing clinics. In 2012 he accepted a GA/Video Coordinator position at Winthrop and the next season he was hired at his alma mater to serve as the Video Coordinator at Michigan State and was a part of their 2015 Final Four run.
After serving as the Video Coordinator at MSU he went to work with Powerhouse Hoops, an official member of the Under Armour Association (UAA) in Phoenix, Ariz., as a coach and personal basketball skills trainer for kids ages six through high school. Coach Ferguson also was an advanced scout for two NBA teams – the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks.

Coach Shawn James is the DOBO at Eastern Washington (NCAA D1) and shares his journey from playing HS in Texas before becoming a student-athlete at The University of Redlands (NCAA D3) before embarking on a coaching career. He coached at Dallas Christian College (NCCAA) and then worked the camp circuit before accepting an Player Development internship with the Dallas Mavericks where he became fluent in various film breakdown software and sparked up a friendship with Dirk Nowitzki - who apparently is one of the best trash talkers that nobody knows about!
Shawn accepted a GA position with Eastern Washington and after graduating was hired as their DOBO. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, he not only was hired full time, but was recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend. He is as anti "coach talk" as they get, and one heck of a great guy. Coach Craig shares his journey from growing up in Bethlehem, PA to becoming a State Championship winning HC in Virginia.
He attended Lehigh University for his undergrad and then received his Master's degree before moving to the Washington DC area. Coach In 2000 he began teaching at WT Woodson High School in Fairfax Virginia and joined Mike Pflugrath's coaching staff the following season. When Coach Pflugrath accepted the position at newly opened South County HS he interviewed to succeed him as the HC at Woodson. Doug Craig was named the 4th HC in the storied history of WT Woodson Boy's Basketball in April of 2005. After helping numerous players go on to play at the college level - including a number at the NCAA D1 level, he made school history winning the State Championship in 2017 after back-to-back Regional Championship and Regional appearances.
WT Woodson has had it's share of tragedies including the suicides' and deaths of students, Coach Craig and his program have been an integral part of the community that has rallied around them during those devastating times. He shares how he's dealt with it as both a coach and a teacher, any other coaches who have gone through similar circumstances can learn from how he's tried to navigate those type of situations.

Coach Kevon Davis shares his journey from JUCO player to D1 Assistant Coach. We talk about how we the NABC Coach's Convention in San Antonio during the Final Four in 2018 and talk about his playing and coaching career. He's entering his 1st season on staff at Maryland Eastern Shore after spending the 2019-20 season at Indian Hills Community College. The team went 30-3 and were Region XI and District XI Champions and earned a number two seed in the NJCAA Tournament prior to COVID-19 cancelling the tournament.
Prior to Indian Hills, he spent three seasons at California Poly as the Director of Player Development for his first two seasons before being elevated to an Assistant Coach prior to the 2018-19 season. Before Cal Poly, he was an AC at Casper College where he helped them go 47-18 during his two seasons. His first coaching position was at his alma mater [Harcum College] in 2010. The team went 100-29 during his four-year tenure and reached the semifinals of the NJCAA national tournament in 2014.

Coach Scott Greenman shares his journey from player to coach. He was a All-Ivy League player at Princeton before embarking on a professional playing career for B'nei Ha'sharon in Israel. Coach Greenman then became a coach at his alma mater and was named HC of the U.S.A. U-18 Maccabiah Team in 2009. After Princeton he moved down to DC to be on staff at Georgetown and then at American University. He was recently named the 3rd best Assistant Coach in the Patriot League via a poll among the coaches in conference. Coach Greenman got to know the late John Thompson who's son was Scott's college HC and then his boss at Georgetown - he shares a funny story about him. Not everything has been sunshine and rainbows for Scott and his family, he opens up about the loss of their newborn Eliana. After her passing him and his family have been very active with the "March for Babies" campaign.

Coach Davis shares his journey from coaching HS and AAU basketball and then college basketball. His energy, passion, and work ethic are some of the best in the business. He is highly motivated even authored his own book as well as a brand. He worked a various HS programs prior to getting into the JUCO ranks - and made quite a name for himself in the recruiting aspect of coaching! Coach Davis has recruited and signed 18+ players on multiple occasions. After reaching out to college coaches about working their camps, he connected with Jayson Gee while he was at Longwood University and instantly hit it off, he was hired and worked his way up from Assistant DOBO to Video Coordinator in his 2nd year. After Longwood be got on staff at Owens CC in Ohio and currently is their HC. They were one of the schools that made the decision to suspended athletics this past spring and so he's recruited a full class and had to get creative on how to coach a team without having practices or games this season. If anyone can do it - Donte Davis can!!

Coach Bialkoski is the Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Maryland. He started his coaching journey as a Student Manager at Georgia Southern before being promoted to Head Student Manager under Jeff Price. From there he moved onto UNC Charlotte where he started off as a Graduate Manager under Bobby Lutz and remained on staff as the Program Assistant then DOBO under Coach Alan Major. Coach Bialkoski is entering his sixth season in College Park working under Mark Turgeon and his third as DOBO after starting off as the Video Coordinator for his first three seasons. He's worn a number of hats in the college basketball coaching profession and has worked for - and with great basketball minds. Coach Bialkoski is a coach who truly wants to help fellow coaches and "grow the game".

David Muchnick shares his unique coaching journey. Growing up in New York he fell in love with basketball and went on to play at SUNY Genesco before embarking on a college basketball coaching career that has span over 15 years. He started off as a Graduate Assistant at SUNY Cortland and was on staff there from 2005-2008. After SUNY Cortland he moved onto to Denison University in Ohio for two years before returning to New York as an Assistant Coach at the United States Merchant Marine Academy - he eventually became the Head Coach in 2014 before accepting a HC position at the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, ME. Coach Muchnick stayed for three years before resigning due to health reasons.
Coach Muchnick went back to being an Assistant Coach who was working side jobs to make it work as an AC at the small college level in 2017. He was hire by Ryan Hyland at John Jay College where he helped build that program into a CUNYAC powerhouse before accepting a full-time AC position at NYU. He's gone through many highs and lows both in the profession - and in his personal life. Coach Muchnick is one of the good guys in the business who I look forward to seeing get another shot at being a HC at the college level.

Coach Thompson shares his journey from HS Assistant Coach to coaching in the ACC, SoCon, SAC and Sunshine State Conference prior to becoming a the Head Coach of a NCAA Men's Basketball program.
He's worked under Mike Madagan, Ben Miller, Seth Greenberg, Josh Schertz, Duggar Baccum, and Mike Dement over the course of his career. Coach Thompson has coached at the NCAA D1, D2, and D3 levels in addition to his HS coaching days during his time as an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech. He was hired as the HC at SUNY Canton in 2016 while still continuing to serve as an AC at Lincoln Memorial University during their postseason run to the NCAA D2 National Championship. After three years at SUNY Canton he accepted the same position at Emory & Henry College, a homecoming of sorts for the Southwest Virginia native.
His father Rick is an accomplished coach as well, his Lebanon HS team won the 1991 VHSL State Championship and was named VHSL Coach of the Year - Rick serves as an AC for Ben at Emory & Henry.

Coach Griggs shares his journey from playing D3 basketball at Centre College to becoming the 1st Head Coach in the history of Mary Baldwin University's Men's Basketball program. After concluding his college basketball playing career he became a Graduate Assistant under Pat Kelsey at Winthrop. After completing his term as GA he was retained as the Video Coordinator and remained there until Clay Nunley hired him as his full-time Assistant Coach at Roanoke College (D3). Coach Nunley eventually promoted him to the Associate Head Coach prior to him being hired by Mary Baldwin University to be their inaugural HC.

Coach Kevin Carroll shares his coaching journey. He's currently an Assistant Coach at Lipscomb after spending two seasons as an AC at Virginia Military Institute. He has nearly twenty years of coaching experience, including ten seasons as a head coach at the collegiate and high school levels.
During his time at VMI, the Keydets showed marked improvement, nearly doubling their win total over a two-year span and capturing the program’s first SoCon Tournament victory in sixteen seasons in 2019. He was instrumental in the recruiting efforts of the 2019 SoCon scoring champion and 2018 Freshman of the Year Bubba Parham (ended his career at Georgia Tech as a Grad Transfer).
Prior to his arrival at VMI, Carroll served as the head coach at NCAA Division II member, Maryville University-St. Louis, from 2010-2017. His tenure began on the tail end of the program’s transition from NCAA Division III to Division II and was highlighted by setting a program record for wins in a season and being the only coach in school history to record wins against nationally ranked opponents. After rebuilding the program in his first two seasons, he led the 2012-13 team to the most wins in the 43-year history of the program and the first 20-win campaign in 34 years.
Carroll came to Maryville after serving as an AC for three seasons at the United States Air Force Academy from 2007-2010 under Jeff Reynolds. Before coaching at Air Force he served as an AC at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2006-07.
Before moving to the college ranks, Carroll served as the head coach of St. Pius X High School in Atlanta, Ga. In three seasons as head coach, he amassed a 49-38 record while rebuilding the program into one of the most successful in the state.
Carroll was a four-year member of the men's basketball team at Berry College (Rome, GA) where he earned his degree in math education while helping guide the Vikings to three consecutive 20-win seasons. He played for Lennie Acuff - who is now the HC at Lipscomb.

Coach Matt Graves is an Assistant Coach at Mount St. Mary's. He's entering his 2nd season at Mount St. Mary's after serving as the Director of Basketball Operations this past season. Previously he served as an Assistant Coach at his alma mater, Belmont Abbey for six seasons. Coach Graves was a big part of their success which included a 23-8 season in 2018-19. He served under four HCs, and also served as the Head Coach of the men’s basketball program’s Developmental team. Prior to Belmont Abbey, Graves was an assistant coach at McDaniel College. A 2012 Belmont Abbey graduate, Graves played for four years under Stephen Miss - currently Belmont Abbey's Athletic Director. After graduation, Graves was awarded the prestigious Victory Scholarship from Sport Changes Life. The Victory Scholarship Program assists deserving students from the USA in obtaining a scholarship package to study at Masters level throughout Ireland. While in Ireland, Graves graduated with a Masters of Business Studies from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, in 2013. He served as head coach for the Ulster Elks Premier League Men’s Basketball team in Northern Ireland. He was the captain of the Ulster Elks National League Basketball Team and was an E-Hoops Counselor with Sport Changes Life. Coach Graves recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Melissa who played at Notre Dame and is currently an Assistant Coach at Wake Forest - he discussed how they make it work long distance and both being college basketball coaches.

Coach Perron the the Head Coach at Catawba College (D2) in North Carolina. I got to know him this past season and he showed me great hospitality. He's guided them to back-to-back 20+ win seasons, NCAA Tournament selections and wins over nationally ranked teams. In six years at Catawba he's won 100 games out of 176 total games coached. He came to Catawba after serving as associate head coach at Newberry under Dave Davis. Prior to Newberry he was the Director of Basketball Operations for the Charlotte 49ers from 2006 to 2012. Coach Perron first worked with Coach Davis at Pfeiffer before going to Charlotte. as their DOBO. He was head coach at his alma mater St. Andrews from 2002 to 2005 and took a 2-25 team prior to his arrival to the CVAC Tournament semifinals in his first season. He started his coaching career at his St. Andrews as an assistant in 1997.

Coach Caputo shares his coaching journey and gives great advice to aspiring coaches. He grew up in New York and went on to play D3 basketball at Westfield State before beginning his coaching career. Coach Caputo began his coaching career at George Mason University after graduating from Westfield State and served in a variety of roles under Jim Larrañaga and would eventually move on to the University of Miami with Coach Larrañaga. Him and Coach L have worked together for 19 years and have had great success. George Mason had a Final Four run in 2006 and tons of success while Coach Caputo was on staff, he's been recognized as one of the top Assistant Coaches in the nation by his peers and multiple media publications.

Coach Heather Macy shares her journey from growing up in a small town in North Carolina to becoming the all-time winningest HC at East Carolina and now serving as the Head Coach at Spartanburg Methodist College (NCJAA D1) in South Carolina. She was inducted into both the Starmount High School and Greensboro College Hall of Fames as a player.
She began her coaching career as an AC at Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne before entering the NCAA D1 coaching ranks as an AC at High Point University and UMBC. During her time as an AC she earned her Master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Coach Macy took over as the HC of Pfieffer and then at Francis Marion University having great success at both schools, she led a high octane offense that was one of the best in the nation. She became the HC at East Carolina and would remain there for eight years and finishing 134-117 including three consecutive seasons with 20+ wins and WNIT appearances.
She's the author of “Two Feet Forward” and also the founder of the non-profit "Influence and Impacters". Coach Macy is one of only 300 coaches in the country Macy received a Certification in Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in 2016.

Coach Doherty talks about growing up in New York and playing HS basketball under Bob McKillop and then playing basketball at North Carolina under the legendary Dean Smith alongside players such as Michael Jordan, James Worthy, and Sam Perkins. He's a member of the 1982 NCAA Championship team and had a successful career with the Tar Heels. After being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers he experienced adversity being cut and he wanted nothing to do with basketball. He went on to work on Wall Street for three years before moving to Charlotte and slowly getting involved with basketball. Coach McKillop offered him an AC position at Davidson and for three years he was on staff at Davidson. In 1993 Roy Williams offered him an AC job at Kansas and Coach Doherty was a part of some very successful Jayhawk teams during his seven years in Lawrence. Notre Dame names him their HC in 1999 and he led them to a 22-15 record - including an appearance in the NIT Championship game. He was named the HC at North Carolina - his alma mater in mid-July and in his first season was named the Associated Press National Coach of the Year after winning the ACC regular season championship and finishing 26-7. Although his tenure at UNC didn't go as well as he hoped it would, he took his year out of coaching to take courses at Darden School and the Wharton School of Business so that he could better prepare himself to be a more effective coach. Florida Atlantic named him HC in 2005 and he led them to a 15-13 record - including a 14-6 mark in Atlantic Sun play. He took over at SMU and coached their for six seasons before stepping away from coaching to do some NBA scouting, ESPN play-by-play, and a two year stint as the Atlantic 10 Conference's Associate Commissioner for Men's Basketball. Coach Doherty is one of the most humble coaches I know and while he's had his share of adversity during his life - he's found his calling doing Executive Coaching, Public Speaking and Consulting with the "Doherty Coaching Practice". He shares plenty of advice for coaches of all ages and talks openly about his experiences and how he's learned from them.

Coach Dixon shares his journey from growing up in a small town in North Carolina to being one of the most respected Assistant Coaches in the country. He transferred a few times during college and graduated from UNC Wilmington, and eventually landed an AC position at Belmont Abbey before spending two years at Queens University in Charlotte. From Queens he joined the coaching staff at Stetson for a couple years before he joined Billy Donovan's coaching staff at Florida and spent two years in Gainesville. After Florida he coached at three different D1 programs in Louisiana in five years before joining the Wyoming coaching staff for a year. For four seasons he would serve as UNC Charlotte's men's and women's Technology and Scouting Assistant. Coach Dixon went to Lenoir-Rhyne along with Ryan Odom and helped lead them to the Quarterfinals of the NCAA D2 National Tournament in their lone season in Hickory, NC - he also talks about how great the coaching is in the Southern Athletic Conference. After moving on to UMBC with Coach Odom they have been able to sustain success and obviously made history as the first #16 seed to knock off the top seeded University of Virginia in the NCAA Tournament back in 2018. Coach Goldsmith grew up in North Carolina and was a standout basketball who won four state championships before continuing her basketball career at Lynchburg (D3) where she became one of their all time best players. After her senior season she attended the prestigious "So you want to be a Coach" program hosted by the WBCA. She became a Graduate Assistant at Virginia Tech and met her now boyfriend Josh Chambers (friend of the podcast and currently on staff at Texas A&M). Coach Goldsmith talks about how they've made a long distance relationship between college basketball coaches work. After being the full time Assistant Coach at Emory University for two years she recently accepted the Head Coach position at Allen Academy in Byan, Texas.

My pal Vince Johnson shares his journey from moving from NoVA to New Mexico and then ending up at Catholic University. Vince has a twin brother who also attends Catholic University. He started off as a Student Manager and quickly became a Student Assistant after taking on addition responsibilities. On top of taking 18-21 credit hours each semester, he's a valuable member of the Catholic University Men's Basketball program! He has worked under two Head Coaches in Steve Howes and Aaron Kelly, and has learned from both of them. We also touch on a tragedy that devastated the university - the murder of 20 year old Daniel Anderl. Vince is going to be very successful in life and I hope he continues to stay involved with coaching basketball in some way, shape or form.

Andre Gray shares his coaching journey and a ton of advice that will benefit coaches of all ages! Coach Gray is synonymous with basketball in the state of North Carolina! Starting his career as a MS and HS coach, he's coached at the D1, D2, and D3 levels. He's been a part of some great coaching staffs and has worked under some tremendous coaches such as Wes Miller, [the late] Larry Hunter, Rick Scruggs, and Buzz Peterson just to name a few.
Coach Gray has coached in the SoCon, Conference USA, Colonial, Atlantic Sun, USA South, CIAA, and the SAC. He's a true "Guardian of the Game" who helps grow the game by mentoring and sharing experiences with younger coaches.
Recently he was named one of the top Assistant Coaches in the SoCon by a poll of his coaching peers in the conference conducted by Stadium.

Coach Tommy Strine shares his coaching journey and how he's been able to advance up the coaching ranks. From being a scholarship level prospect in HS prior to a serious injury and continuing his career at the DIII level prior to transferring to IPFW so that he be President of Teams for Spiece Basketball in Fort Wayne, IN. During his time at Spiece, he oversaw the logistics and development of over 100 AAU teams while also running camps and working out some of the top players in Indiana. He coached HS basketball before getting into the college ranks at Concordia University in Ann Arbor. After Concordia he moved onto the University of Richmond to serve as a Video Coordinator for Chris Mooney. He was unpaid at Richmond and did such a great job that he was hired at American University as their DOBO, he spent four seasons in Our Nations Capital before moving closer to home at Cleveland State University. Coach Strine was named the DOBO at Lamar University in Texas. He was recognized as an Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team this past June.

Coach Mike Blaine takes us through his long and unique journey from growing up the son of a member of the military to nearing two decades in college basketball coaching. He graduated from Bishop Ireton HS in the legendary WCAC and was a key contributor for a upper echelon DIII basketball program at Johns Hopkins under the great Bill Nelson. During his college years he worked numerous camps and made lifelong friendships. After graduating from Johns Hopkins he decided to pursue a career in coaching basketball rather than work on Capitol Hill. He accepted the DOBO position at James Madison (CAA) where he spent the 2003-04 season before accepting an AC position at Army (Patriot League). Coach Blaine remained at Army for two seasons before returning to Virginia where he was an AC at Radford (Big South) under Bryan Samuels for a season. After Radford he landed the full-time AC position at DIII Hampden-Sydney (ODAC), After the season he was offered an AC position at Maryland Eastern Shore (MEAC) and spent two years at the HBCU prior to spending four years at Cornell (Ivy League).
In 2014 Coach Blaine accepted the HC position at Medaille College, a DIII school in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. He took them to great success before being named HC at SUNY Plattsburgh in October 2019. I'm positive that listeners will learn a ton from this interview!

Coach Ryan Wise takes us through his coaching journey. For a coach under the age of 30, he's been at multiple levels and served under some solid coaches. He didn't take the traditional Student Manager route, instead he coached middle school, high school and AAU while he was in college at West Virginia University. After graduating from WVU he accepted a non-paid Assistant Coach position at West Virginia Tech and helped them earn an At-Large bid to the NAIA National Tournament. He worked a few camps including UNC and Virginia Tech and maintains relationships with the camp staff to this day. The next season he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at Mercer under the legendary Bob Hoffman and got his first taste of NCAA DI basketball in the highly competitive SoCon (Southern Conference). Unfortunately when Coach Hoffman was fired, his replacement [Greg Gary] was unsure if he'd retain him, Coach Wise was offered a full-time Assistant Coach position at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and accepted it. This past season Coach Wise served under Terrence Smith and helped the Bearcats get selected as preseason favorites in the PAC as well as have multiple win streaks including a season-high six game win streak. Coach Wise talks about his decision to be represented by an agency as what they've done for him as far as professional development.

Coach Abar Rouse shares his journey from moving from New York to Texas when he was growing up and then his decade of coaching college basketball at the DI, NAIA, D2 and JUCO ranks. He was a Student Manager at Midwestern State before transferring to Baylor to and immediately being named Head Student Manager and then returned to Midwestern State after graduating. His coaching dream took him to multiple states in different time zones just trying to move up the ranks. After having a tremendous squad at McClennan CC and interacting with numerous college coaches like Bob Knight, he accepted a job at his alma mater as Baylor's Director of Basketball Operations under Dave Bliss.
In 2003 a murder took place and one of their players [Patrick Dennehy] was the victim. Dave Bliss not only paid the tuition of multiple players and tried to make the late Patrick Dennehy out to be a drug dealer. Despite the potential allegations of extortion, obstruction of justice and witness tampering, no criminal charges were filed against Bliss.
Coach Rouse sought advice from coaching mentors and friends in the business as well as lawyers. He was threatened by his boss [Bliss] to go along with the scheme or he would be fired, and ultimately took the advice of his coaching mentors [some of whom are still in the business] recorded Bliss instructing players to fabricate the story of Dennehy being a drug dealer to the University's investigative committee and also said that talking to the McLennan County, Texas Sheriff's Department would give him the opportunity to "practice" his story. The tapes also showed that Bliss and his staff knew that Dennehy had been threatened by two of their teammates when they publicly denied such knowledge.
Afterwards Coach Rouse was the lone member of the staff who did not receive a show clause penalty from the NCAA, yet was essentially blackballed by the coaching fraternity. One of his idols Mike Krzyzewski, was one of the prominent coaches who publicly criticized him yet Coach Rouse didn't blame Coach K since he didn't have all of the facts. He managed to land back at Midwestern State for a third stint under Coach Jeff Ray, but ultimately left the business on his own terms after a successful season there. He began a career with overseeing and managing prison which was much more stable and allowed him to develop.
I personally look forward to Abar Rouse coaching basketball again after he can retire from his non-coaching career. He provides great insight for aspiring coaches as well as shares his opinions on the Adidas scandal as well as other current events.

Coach Agumagu shares his journey from leaving Nigeria at the age of three to move to Miami. FL and then becoming a NCAA DI Assistant Coach. He grew up in Miami and enjoyed it so much that he accepted a Preferred Walk-On spot at Barry University in nearby Miami Shores. The team had unprecedented success under Head Coach George “Butch” Estes. He helped the Buccaneers win a school record 26 games, a Sunshine State Conference regular season championship, the program’s first Regional Championship, as well as an Elite Eight berth for the first time in program history. In his three years with the Buccaneers, Agumagu had a hand in 70 wins and a plethora of AP Top 25 rankings. After graduating he stayed in South Beach accepting an Assistant Coaching position at St. Thomas University, an NAIA school in Miami Gardens, Florida. In his first year of coaching, Agumagu was the lead assistant for Head Coach Patrick Gayle. Agumagu assisted the Bobcats men’s basketball program to a 20-9 overall record, as well as multiple Top 25 ranks, including a ranking as high as fourth in 2016-17 with wins against NCAA DII Nova Southeastern (2) and eventual NAIA National Champions, Union College. His hard work and genuine relationships led to him being offered a DOBO position at NCAA DI Coppin State University under Juan Dixon. After just one season he was promoted to a full time Assistant Coach and has been a part of increased win totals in each of his four seasons on staff as well as tying a school record for most non-conference wins with four (Loyola Chicago, James Madison, East Carolina, and Cornell). Coach also talks about having their season cut short due to COVID19 and what it's like to work for a former NBA player who was drafted by - and played alongside Michael Jordan!

Coach Bentley shares his journey of overcoming so much and keeping a positive attitude throughout everything. He was born with Achondroplasia Dwarfism, but refuses to let that get in the way of his desire to coach college basketball. After realizing that he was not going to be able to play at the HS level he told the HC that he was going to be their manager. In his first season as a Student Manager the team won the state championship! Coach Bentley originally had big dreams of being a manager at Clemson, but after meeting Coach Jason Taylor - he was encouraged to be a Student Assistant Coach at Anderson University. In his five years at Anderson (AC during his 5th year) the team made it to the NCAA D2 National Tournament three season. They racked up an Elite 8, Sweet 16 and a SAC Regular Season Championship during his time there. The program's success was a testament to the hard work that the coaching staff and players put in. Coach Bentley continued to grow as a basketball coach by working campus such as Wake Forest, Wofford, Texas, and numerous others and did a tremendous job of networking and building genuine relationships. In addition to coaching at Anderson, he's been involved with AAU basketball serving as the HC of the Upward Stars program based in South Carolina. He's done a great job recruiting and coaching his players. Unfortunately he had a minor setback when the doctors told him that he needed to go under the knife for surgery to repair the Spinal Stenosis of the lumbar vertebrae that had developed and didn't have insurance to cover it. Coach was encouraged to start a GoFundMe page and was able to raise enough money to get medical insurance to cover the surgery and various rehab treatments - former Duke and NBA player Jay Williams reached out to Coach Bentley and he graciously donated towards the cause and developed a friendship. The past five years Coach Bentley as been on staff at Hargrave Military Academy, winning a national championship in his first season. He's continued to become a better coach and refuses to let anything get in his way of pursuing his dreams.

Coach Benator takes us through his coaching journey and how he's been able to sustain success. He started his coaching career as a Student Manager at The University of Georgia. Benator spent the 2008-09 season at the University of North Georgia as a Graduate Assistant Coach. After the season he served as the Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 2009-12 - while also completing his Master's Degree! Coach Benator was the Associate Head Post-Graduate Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Fishburne Military School - all 16 members of the post-graduate team earned 4-year college scholarships, including 12 NCAA Division 1 schools. After Fishburne he accepted the Assistant Coach position at Young Harris College. He has been the Assistant Coach at the University of West Florida since 2015 and has been a part of great success. In 2019 he was one of 11 coaches selected to participate in the Jay Bilas Skills Academy Coaches Leadership Academy.

Coach West shares his journey from serving our country to becoming the Head Coach at Prince George's Community College. He got his start in coaching the Yokosuka Pro Traveling Team in Japan during his time serving in the military. When he got back to the United States he began coaching high school and grassroots basketball - including coaching on the boys and the girls side. Coach West was the Friendship Tech Prep High School boy's varsity head coach for the 2014-15 season, leading the team to a league-best 20-4 record. He was named the Coach of the Year by the league after guiding the squad to a division title as a first-year program. West also served as the boy's junior varsity head coach at Laurel Senior High School from 2011-14 that included leading the team to consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 2005-06. After Coach Brian Johnson was hired at Southern Vermont College, he was named Interim Head Coach for 2018-19 and won the NJCAA Region XX Championship in addition to being named HoopDirt Coach of the Week among other honors.

Coach Tankelewicz shares his journey from player to coach. He was a standout player at Middle Creek HS and then Charleston Southern before transferring to Western Carolina. After his college playing days were over, he played one season (2014-15) professionally with the KB Bashkimi Prizren Basketball Club and was named to the All-Kosovo Super League Team. After returning to the United States he began working and coaching youth basketball, an opportunity presented itself to be a Graduate Assistant at UNCG under Wes Miller and he accepted it. After finishing his Master's Degree he served as Video Coordinator for the 2018-19 season before being promoted to Director of Basketball Operations. Coach Tankelewicz isn't the only member of his family in the UNCG Basketball program, his younger brother Ryan is on the team and you'll have to listen to the interview to find out who the better shooter is! Tom provides excellent advice to younger coaches and is one of the good guys in the business.

Coach Dominic Parker shares his journey from being a 150lb HS senior to being a D1 Assistant Coach and everything in-between! Dom is one of the most optimistic and hard working coaches I know, he started off his college career at Lincoln Memorial under the legendary Josh Schertz as part of his inaugural recruiting class. He was awarded the "Freshman of the Week" twice during his first season at LMU. Dom transferred to Virginia State University to be closer to home and help care for his mother during a health scare, he managed to not only graduate Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Health, Physical Edication, and Recreation - but he finished a two year Master's degree program in just over one year. He served as the Graduate Assistant at VSU in 2012 where he helped VSU to their best record in six years. After receiving a Master’s of Science Degree in Sport Management in 2013, Dom became the Assistant Coach at Richard Bland College (NJCAA D2) and won the Region X Conference Championship and the NJCAA Division II National Championship in 2015. From Richard Bland he moved onto Shenandoah University (D3) in Winchester Virginia and remained there for two years. Following his time at Shenandoah, he landed at Christopher Newport University (D3) in Newport News, Virginia. In two seasons as an Assistant Coach at CNU from 2017-19. CNU went a combined 51-11 during his tenure. The team won the Capital Athletic Conference regular season title in each season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament each season including a trip to the Final Four in March 2019. He was named to the 2017-18 Under Armour 30 under 30 team during his time at CNU. Coach Parker was hired at University of Maryland Eastern Shore after his tenure at CNU as part of Jason Crofton's inaugural coaching staff.

Coach Justin Bauman shares his journey from growing up in Canton, IL to being in college basketball coaching for 16 years! He started off being a scholarship player at Lincoln College (NJCAA) and being named an All Academic Region XXIII before transferring to Kansas to be a Student Manager. Justin was a Student Manager under both Roy Williams and Bill Self and eventually became a Graduate Assistant at Kansas. After Kansas Coach Bauman spent two years on Rex Walters' staff at Florida Atlantic as his Director of Basketball Operations before joining him when he took the San Francisco job. During his four years on staff at San Francisco, he was the Director of Basketball Operations for two seasons before being promoted to an Assistant Coach during his third and fourth season at USF. Coach Bauman joined Danny Manning's staff as Director of Basketball Operations at Tulsa where they had two postseason tournament appearances - including a bid to the NCAA Tournament! From Tulsa he went with Coach Manning to Wake Forest and spent six years on staff including a stint as Interim Assistant Coach. You'd be hard pressed to find a harder working coach than JB!

Coach Little shares his journey of playing high school basketball in the Virginia Beach area and his recruitment prior to playing basketball and running track at Virginia State University. He played one year before enlisting in the military, Coach Little ended up serving in BOTH the Air Force and the Army. Coach Little also played professional basketball overseas in multiple countries as well as playing on the base teams. He became the Head Coach of the All-Army Team and had great success coaching as well as helping players with college eligibility when it came to getting recruited by college coaches. When he was stationed in Georgia he became an Assistant Coach at Columbus State University where he helped them from 2013-2017. During his time with the Cougars, the team won their first regular season title in over a decade in 2015, while also making three consecutive NCAA D-II tournament appearances. Adam Balog shares his journey from Student Manager at Cleveland State, to not being selected as a Student Manager at Ohio State after transferring to eventually landing at Florida State under legendary Head Coach Leonard Hamilton. He is the Operations Assistant for the Florida State men’s basketball team after spending two years as the Graduate Assistant. Adam is a veteran of the camp circuit and spent time working with the Cavs Academy (Cleveland Cavaliers) as awell as a sports agency. Howie Schwab is best known as the sports trivia expert and final adversary on ESPN's Stump the Schwab show. We talk about growing up a sports fan and how he became involved with so many different sports. He reflects on his time at St. John's University where he wrote for their student newspaper and covered practically every team at St. John's. After college he served as the editor-in-chief of College & Pro Football News Weekly in the 80's before joining ESPN in 1987. Howie reminisces on the relationships he had with his co-workers at ESPN and discusses his relationships with such personalities as the late Jim Valvano, Dick Vitale, and the late Stuart Scott. By the 90's, he was the coordinating producer for ESPN.com as well as later on becoming coordinating producer for ESPN studio production, which included shows such as "SportsCenter" and "Outside the Lines". He is most famous for his role on “Stump the Schwab” from July 2004 to September 2006. After being laid off by ESPN and the passing of his first wife, he talks about how relationships paved the way for his next venture - joining Sports Jeopardy! as a consultant and writer working with Dan Patrick. Recently Howie worked with Dick Vitale and Dick Weis on the book "The Lost Season" and is involved with "WinQuik" - a FREE trivia app where you can win great prizes (including $$$). Sean Dempsey takes us through his coaching journey and reflects on each of his experiences as a coach. I worked along Sean at Centenary College and I’ve never known someone who forms meaningful relationships with players so quickly, Sean truly has a gift. He’s experienced some depression over the years - especially after his best friend committed suicide. Coach Dempsey opens up and even shares his first impression of meeting me. Coach Radcliff discuses how attending four different colleges helped shape him into the man he is today. He finished his eligibility at Thomas University and Coach Brent Crews quickly moved him from Student Athlete - to Student Assistant. Not only did he serve as a practice player, he was on the road recruiting - which resulted in six commitments! His HC trusted him so much that he gave him ten scouts this past season! National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Famer Danny Manning discusses growing up with a father who was playing in the NBA (and later ABA) as well as his career as a player as well as a college basketball coach. His legendary playing career including a State Championship at Lawrence High School, a NCAA National Championship, playing for USA Basketball and 15 year NBA career - including two All Star appearances and the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year Award! After his playing days were over Danny returned to Kansas to serve on the Bill Self's coaching staff. After he was elevated to an Assistant Coach, Kansas won the 2008 NCAA National Championship. In 2012 Coach Manning was named the Head Coach at Tulsa, where in his second season won the C-USA regular season championship, C-USA Tournament championship and was named the C-USA Coach of the Year! Coach Manning moved back to North Carolina after being named the Head Coach at Wake Forest in April of 2014 and remained as Head Coach until 2020. Coach Manning shares how he looks to hire Graduate Assistants and support staff + how he's been able to face adversity in both his playing and coaching careers. He offers great advice to coaches looking to move up the ranks and gives insight to who he is outside of basketball.

Coach Frederick takes me through his journey from HS to playing at THE University of North Carolina under HOF Coach Dean Smith. He played alongside a number of future NBA players and went to back-to-back Final Fours. Coach Frederick helped Phil Ford coach the Carolina JV Team as a junior while also playing on the varsity team. After his playing days he joined Kevin Stalling’s coaching staff at Vanderbilt where he spent 14 seasons before returning to North Carolina where he just completed his sixth season including the 2017 NCAA Championship. Coach Easley takes us through his coaching journey after talking about how he's having conversations with his team during these times of racial injustice. Coach Chambers shares his story of being a military brat who's father developed ALS and while Josh cared for him - he began doing graphic design to take his mind off things. Josh became a student manager at Virginia Tech and worked under Buzz Williams as a senior. Upon graduation he accepted a job at HOF Coach George Raveling's right-hand-man. Buzz Williams offered him a job and Coach Chambers moved back to Virginia after living in Los Angeles. Coach Chambers has served on Buzz Williams' coaching staff at both Virginia Tech and Texas A&M.
