In our April meeting we discussed a variety of opportunities to be involve in the neighborhood through committees and upcoming events, and had guest speakers present on Future64, a transportation study and project within the central corridor of St. Louis.

In our March meeting, we motioned to approve last month's bylaw changes, 2022 events, call for Dog Park Committee members and availability of Chouteau Garden beds, the and revival of the Infrastructure Committee.

February was a busy month! Discussions and updates included: 

  • Alderwoman Pihl on ward business and development
  • The Tower Grove – Cortex Connector Phase II, the portion that will run along Vandeventer and through FPSE along Sarah St
  • A short presentation from Jami Cox of Reform St. Louis (Prop R), a ballot measure concerning redistricting and conflicts of interest on the Board of Aldermen, which will be on the ballot this Spring
  • Block Captains - an effort to restart the Block Captain program to improve communication and foster community in our neighborhoods
  • The Board is looking at becoming a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization in order to make your donations go farther and provide additional benefits to you or your organization
  • Bylaw changes - We have heard from our members and the desire for the Association to be a better voice for the community. We will be discussing changes to the Association's bylaws that will allow us to serve and represent you better
  • Call for Dog Park Committee members - The dog park in Chouteau Park has openings for its committee.

In October 2021 the FPSE Neighborhood Association hosted a meeting for Lux Living to respond to community feedback on the 144 unit apartment proposal. After the meeting, the Association hosted a community discussion for residents to voice their thoughts and opinions.

In this month's meeting, discussions and updates included the neighborhood crime report,  COVID updates from the City, status of Drury discussions, information on a medical marijuana dispensary in FPSE at 4108 Manchester, and guest speaker Viki Englund: Nominee for Missouri State Treasurer.

Discussions included the January crime report, a call for treasurer nominations, a call for volunteers to join the Hospitality Committee, Chouteau Park updates, Cortex-Tower Grove Connector Project plans, requested reforms to the FPSE Development Committee, and Drury updates.

The Association conducted two workshops for residents to continue December's discussions about the neighborhood and Drury's proposed community engagement process for possible redevelopment along the western edge of the neighborhood and Kingshighway. Officer Ed Slade gave a crime report, the Infrastructure Committee shared info on the Cortex-Tower connector project and Chouteau Playground, and the Board looks to conduct voting in February to approve a Code-of-Conduct in the by-laws and a change in membership dues.

Drury and H3 discussed the opportunity, assumptions and approach for planning a community & development review process for possible projects along the South Kingshighway Frontage. The community Q&A followed the presentation.
