San Francisco based comedian Paco Romane has appeared on many television shows, films, commercials, plays and podcasts. He and is a critically acclaimed an award-winning comedian and filmmaker in addition to being an actor, voice actor, director, writer, musician, and producer.He was twice voted “Best Comedian” by the San Francisco Weekly and San Francisco Bay Guardian. On Wednesday, March 11th Paco recorded his debut comedy record “Shaped Like A Thumb” at Doc’s Lab the home of the legendary Purple Onion in San Francisco. The legendary venue has been the setting for recordings by The Smothers Brothers, Zach Galifianakis, Bob Newhart, Phyllis Diller, and many others. He has established himself, as one of the favorite comedians in the San Francisco comedy scene and his energetic, self-deprecating comedic style is a hit with audiences across the country. Paco can use his experience as an improv/sketch comedian to take just about any live moment and spin it into his act. He has been described as a mix of your favorite uncle with just a pinch of Jack Black. Bookers have called Romane, “a favorite with crowds because he brings energy, improv and great observations into his act and he is one of the most engaging comedians!” In a recent interview KQED recently wrote, “Paco keeps audiences coming back with gigs and TV appearances.” NBC Bay Area added, “Years of success have kept Paco Romane at the top of the Bay Area comedy scene” In a recent interview Digital Journal remarked ‘to call Paco Romane an original is no exaggeration’ while SF Sketchfest producer, Cole Stratton weighed in, “…Paco is a mash up of all things funny — sketch, stand-up, improv, you name it. We’re thrilled to shed some light on Paco’s stand-up, which is really strong.” The SF Haight-Ashbury Beat commented “Paco Romane is a genius when it comes to developing characters.” Paco was recently on Comedy Central’s Drunk History and has written for the Gilbert Gottfried roast and is a company member of Killing My Lobster (SF’s Premier Sketch Comedy Group). He has performed in many films, plays, and commercials. He can be seen in these recent national XFINITY, IBM and ARCO ads and heard doing the voice-over for this national VISA commercial. Paco is also the producer and host of the Romane Event Comedy Show. One of San Francisco’s longest running and most beloved comedy shows. The Onion hailed it as “hilarious”.
