The song is complete, but I was looking for feedback on the panning. I am using DefleMask in the GB soundchip. SQ1 is set to left, SQ2 is both, Wave is right, and Noise has no effect. I had to do that because the Wave sound conflicted with all the sounds and I do not have enough experience with the program yet. A short, yet complete. experiment using my new nanoloop mono (GB) and nanoloop 2 (gba) synced together and seeing I could achieve. I enjoyed employing the 'only play sometimes' feature for particular steps, and using a short sequence with a random play order to inject a little chaos is an otherwise ordered chord sequence. I hope someone (other than me) enjoys it.

The reason I made this track is for multiple reasons. I love chiptune music, I've been a fan of video game music ever since I've been growing up playing Mario bros and megaman, I've been listening to a lot of it in chiptune compilations and it's wonderful, and I wanted to put my cards on the table and give an honest shot at making something enjoyable, I would put it up anyways even if I didn't. Because whether or not I like the track, their is always someone out their who can find enjoyment in it that I may not be able to, and that's one of the many things that excites me about the prospect of creating art.

Composed in 2019. I made this song using as the only instruments' source a very low-tek toy-keyboard: MS-003 (also called Music Fairy, hehehe). It's an extremely cheap and extremely plastic machine (also in its sound :-P ). It is actually sooo low-tek, that it has no headphones output! Hence I had to sample sounds via microphone - later I used MilkyTracker as a sequencer. Cannot play by hand this time, as the keyboard's clicks would be audible. But MilkyTracker does do the job perfectly.
I recorded all the instruments + some loops, noise-gated them, normalized - and so on. The toy-keyboard has no bass (at least not for the user to play with), so I had to sample the lowest possible note of the guitar and later I used it here as the bass :-) ).
Also - actually I always wanted to try this method of using toy-keyboards - to sample those lo-fi instruments and put them into some normal, modern sequencer.
Btw, the toy was a Christmas gift from my girlfriend, haha! ;-) Thanks!! :D

My another casio-core song - only machine used: CASIO CT-670 home-keyboard from 1992. But this time - also with a sequencer - ATARI 520ST with Cubase 2.1 (both from 80s). It's kind of synthpop / italo-disco. I always wanted to have the CT-670 to see what it can do. Well, there's many interesting instruments + some synthesizer section. Still, there's only 4 channels of MIDI and therefore usage of the MIDI itself it's not comfortable and - moreover - unclear (but possible to use, nevertheless). Casio-core for life!!!!!!!

I composed a chiptune remix album of an experimental pop album I recently released. This is the final song from the album - it's the big climax and a long dragged-out affair on the original album, but here it's a short and sweet chiptune track. This is modern chiptune, or fakebit, or whatever you want to call it - I played all the parts with a keyboard into Ableton and all of the sounds were produced with Plogue's chipsounds plugin.

Created this little chippy track in Bitwig Studio today. The content comes from a sample of an iElectribe factory default called ChipTune 2. I took that loop and mangled it, sliced it, build some samplers, etc. Quite liking Bitwig. I haven't opened Live since I got it.

This is a 2017 piece I did that was heavily inspired by Russian orchestral aesthetics. In fact, the working title was "Anastasia", but I dropped it because when it was done it didn't feel very Russian outside of the chorus. Nevertheless, I like how it turned out, and this is still one of my favorite pieces to perform. What do you think?

I've been working on a short album of songs that use NES sounds paired with acoustic drum loops. The idea was to keep within the physical limitations of NES mostly but also have drum loops and some fx etc where i felt it was appropriate. It was done in Renoise using single cycle NES waveforms from Adventurekid:https://www.adventurekid.se/akrt/waveforms/ (His site is awesome I really recommend checking it out if you haven't, lots of free samples etc.)

A dungeon synth tune originally made for the Dexed DX7 emulator. Recreated and ported to the Sega Megadrive (Genesis) console with Deflemask. Recorded from original Megadrive1 console.

Again - the only toy used - CASIO CT-670 home-keyboard from 1992. Also with a sequencer - ATARI 520ST with Cubase 2.1 (both from 80s).
The CASIO has only only 4 channels and no volumes, so constructing those songs with MIDI is kinda tricky. Multitracking on PC is required. Still, I don't change the original Casio's sound. :)

Been a while share my music here, and I'm back.
So, me and some chipartist have participated to the first PSG Cabal challenge compilation. The goal of the challenge was to make a song between 40 and 50 in tempo in LSDj. From there, you had a choice : make a slow song with a lot quantization, or a faster one with less quantization and more constraints !

The music itself was designed by sampling the start-up sound from a GameBoy Advance. We used that sample to create a lot of the chord structure and synthesis backbone melodies of the song! Pretty cool eh?
We really wanted to make the song an experience so we hired our friend Nikki who is a talented screenplay writer to create a short story based on the artwork, music and lyrics.
What she came up with was an amazing tale about a dating simulator sprite that becomes self-aware and falls in-love with her user.
We created EarthBound-esque game text-box gifs to promote the single and tell the tale of our sentient love- sick Dating Sim. We released a tweet a day with a snippet of the story until it’s fruition and release of the song.
We encouraged readers to share her “transmissions” to help find her user–making the listeners part of her tale. ☆

I always wanted to have the CT-670 to see what it can do. Well, MANY interesting instruments + some synthesizer section: nice. Still, there's only 4 channels of MIDI and also usage of the MIDI itself it's highly unclear here (but possible to use nevertheless).

Hi! This is my very first attempt to creating any kind of chiptunes (if you don't count playing around in the GBA game Pocket Music). I used Famitracker which I had to watch guides on youtube how to even get sound out of, so I'm a complete and utter beginner. Anyway, I'm aware the song is pretty... conformative and straight on, there's no real groove to it (during the verses at least) if you ask me. I'd love to hear advice on how to achieve more "soul".

my first finished project of an Overdrive Original with the help the VST's FMDrive and SPSG- this... breaks so many limits. this would not fit on a Megadrive, maybe 32x but need another psg.... so 2 Megadrives - - - MD: 5 instruments- 4 pcm samples: 1-vocal sample 2-drum samples 1-crash. PSG: 3 Tones(1-normal 1-1MhzTone 1-Arp)- 1 noise(hi-hat) unnecessary? ya. worth it? oh yes!
and I'm also wanting to know from all of you: sound, musicality, and other fixes I know can be put into this. rant away!! good or bad, I'll take it!

This is a song for an ongoing videogame project, Where Cowards Dare. I used a fair amount of third party instruments in this one, but I applied some customizations, particularly in the lead guitar sound with the palm mutes and the pinch harmonic, and the growl that mostly follows the bassline.
Yet again, I'm not fully convinced by the audio mixing, my biggest problem being the differences between the stereo perception with headphones as opposed to the speakers. I'm taking suggestions!

Sometime Between uhh...like, October or November of 2014? 2015, Thats the one. 01xPSP-LGPT (Main Theme @0:00, Vocals&Drums@0:33-Onward) 01xDMG-2Channels(@1:17) Both the PSP and the DMG ran into a cheap Yamaha 3 channel mixer with an additional Mic port treated as the 4th Input in an attempt to retain stereo panning. Those 4 inputs were then converted from 1/4 inputs to a singular 3.5mm Aux and were ran into the Mic Jack on a generic 4gb-ram Hp laptop (didnt know much about that one) and were recorded through Audacity. As a result of such strange limitations we had available; this recording is nowhere near mixed, edited, engineered....or any other medium used for mastering. Its safe to say what you know, we don't. As a result this "mixed and mastered" file was recorded in what take live, the sound ranges are all over the place (its quite audible @0:53) and the song was unfinished (hence the fade-out). Still, if we are to start sharing with all of you wonderful people whom which we have wished to make contact; we must start somewhere. Why not 2 years ago? It may not be great, but don't be too quick to judge us and think to yourself,"oh..these untalented assholes", in the midst of scrolling. There is so much stuff that has never been shared or touched since conception that I guarantee whatever comes next...will be a mix of good, and bad. Okay, so a quick rundown of how this song was made:

I programmed the entire song in LSDJ

I recorded each channel separately with a run-of-the-mill field recorder

I loaded the recordings into a DAW and carefully re-aligned them

I used the DAW to add a little EQ and FX, as well as pan each channel as I saw fit

Here's a little thing I made with Nanoloop 1.7.6. Really enjoying using nanoloop for actual songwriting, something some people claim it's not well-suited for. Working hard to proove them wrong!

It has been a really long time since I last posted some music online (technically nothing since 8bc went down). So I am back ! This track is some months old now, but I felt like sharing it.
NES track, 5 channels, no FX, no EQ, nothing extra added. 4th version of "Plastic", possibly not the last. For some reason I find it has an Amiga/ST feel. The volume may be a bit low, no post treatment, it may not be extra bassy or whatever young people say nowadays (wobbulent?). Feel free to EQ it a bit ! A nasty triangle kick past the middle at least. No steroids or full throttle WAV channel gritty bass. Famitracked. One day I will use my hardware for NES also, promised.

Hi guys. I thought I'd share one of these, a track from a forthcoming project of mine called "Digital Bass 2017" It is reminiscent of the old school bass CD's, which for those that don't know, were popular in the late 80's thru the late 90's. It is instrumental electronic music with excessive loud and low digital bass with the purpose of pushing serious car audio setups nice and hard. It probably took a certain type of person to listen to that music for general listening, and I so happened to be one of those (reference the likes of Bass Mekanik, Techmaster PEB, Beat Dominator, etc.)
It was done entirely with Nanoloop on iOS. Basically, if you don't have a system in your vehicle, you won't be hearing tunes like this the way they were meant to be. In the case of this tune, it is just my style and it will probably undergo a few tweaks and adjustments for being put on the retail CD release. I do occasionally work with other stuff besides just chiptune :) Hope someone can enjoy it. See ya! --BitPusher

As a gift to their kickstarter contributors, an album of SNES style RPG songs was commissioned to provide background ambience for the dungeon crawling adventures. I was heavily inspired by the SquareSoft SNES-era RPGs such as Secret of Mana and FF6. 2x nanoloop 2 (2.7.2 and 2.7.8) on game boy micro Boss RPS-10 KP3+ Alesis Midiverb III
One copy of nanoloop dedicated to bass/chords/melody, one copy mostly percussion, but a bit of melodic work. The RPS-10 does a nice job of fattening up the FM percussion :D

As an aspiring writer of battle hymns and war cries, I find love songs to be trivial, sickeningly overused and devoid of everything they're trying to evoke. Naturally, I decided to write one, and (unnaturally) I ended up liking how it turned out. I actually wrote this a while ago, but I was still on the fence about releasing it until today.
