Ever wondered if you could have an instant erase button for the stuff that trips out your mouth ? Or if you could unhear what others say in your presence or that is directed at you ? Learning how to speak to others in a kind and considerate manner is a life skill. Learning to have the conversations NOW that matter is something we will all have to consider the weight of. If you don't learn that lesson you end up with regrets that last a lifetime.

Be nice, be heard, help others, educate, cosset and cherish the emotions that matter, and remember we only get one life.

This is a one off special recorded in 2017 but re-released to celebrate living with autism and ASD and those who care for, love and celebrate those with special powers. This episode was originally downloaded 103k times between 2017 and 2023 on another show from our stable. It is, however, extremely powerful radio that talks about living with autism, the differences that make us stronger, the challenges and society.

Recorded with the best podcast co-host I ever had the pleasure of putting a microphone in front of who was a consumate broadcaster, a total natural who could and should have ended up at Voxiferi. Voxiferi is created because she always made me feel like I could do anything if I put my mind to it. And for that I am forever grateful.

Enjoy - you'll never hear us talk on-air again.

This is for our children Christopher and William, you made us unique. We love you more than words can ever express. Sorry we fucked up, humans suck. Try always to do better than we did, we didn't do very well at all, we did try but it wasn't really ever going to work. We were too different by far and a generation apart. However we did make magic by creating you two and what amazing young men you became. Proud as punch, proudest parents in the galaxy. Listen to us talking sense. We didn't do it very often....

Loneliness is a major problem that is only now just being afforded the focus it needs from a support perspective. Chronic and situational loneliness, isolation and how to offer solutions and exercises to deal with climbing out of that position are difficult to sometimes comprehend.

We tackle it head on with honesty.

Sometimes we crave acceptance and we crave to be heard. We want to be listened to, but it's equally necessary and important to learn the importance of being able to LISTEN and be HUMBLE.

Living in the moment and understanding that focus is all important, and learning that being able to demonstrate our place in the world is as important as being able to show we can stand back and hear.

We explore how that can work, why it's important and why it's a skill as much as a shield or defence mechanism

Depression was recently described on BBC Radio 4 as a "mood swing", which is about as ridiculous and as insulting as it gets.

To understand ourselves we need to understand how depression affects us, mentally, psychologically, medically and the effect on those around us.

How we present, what other societal impacts that can be isolated to show causal impact and how depression affects our work, our intimacy with others and often our lack of appreciation of those effects.

Listen in and we go on an hour long deep dive...

We are all fragile, complicated and need to assess and re-assess to be able to find our way.

Sometimes we need to reboot and find our happy place we can unwind and climb down from, in private and often, it's the last place we think of.

It has been the year to end all years. The pandemic, globally, has caused our lives to change. Make that Change was there to help and provide support to people affected by change and loss.

As we head through Summer 2021 a year on from the first episodes I have decided to record another three shows for publication late August and early September after emails from listeners.

If you haven't subscribed - go do it, if you want to share the word then please help do so.

In mid June and early July I recorded Episodes 1-6 of Make That Change.

Since that time this show has reached every corner of the world pushed and promoted by support groups, bereavement groups, Reddit and two major mental health charities in the UK and the US.

I have received over 1300 emails from listeners about the show and asking if I would record more episodes.

Faced with my own recovery challenges and legal stuff I've been working on in my personal life alongside work I haven't had the time to do so until things started to get quiet in the run up to Christmas 2020.

So now I've made time to record Episode 7.

Where does this sit in the scheme of things ? I have had to ask for the very help that I was trying to prescribe to the listeners of the show and there is nothing wrong with honesty. If I can't be honest with over a million listeners on the journeys of change that we are all on then there is no honesty or emotive reason to continue with a charade or this audio journey.

This is a longer show than normal but I talk you through dealing with depression and coping skills and introduction to where we are going in Episodes 8-10 which will be out in the direct run up to Christmas.

Come back soon for Episode 8 next week.

This is the final episode in this podcast series !! In this episode we talk about the need to forgive, to heal and to move on. It doesn't mean that we need to forget transgressions or to not feel danger or alarm, or recognise abuse or to forget. The first step in healing is to actually have your own value of self worth and to stop your aggressor, be it a business partner, a sibling, a colleague, a sporting partner, a lover, an ex husband or wife continue to be empowered, to abuse you or rent space in your head. Forgiveness is power. Power to move on with YOUR life and learning how to forgive is critical to the end stage of this journey we have been throughout these six podcasts. I sincerely hope that you have enjoyed these podcasts and have got a lot out of them.  New audiobooks available soon on Audible !! I will be releasing the first in a series of three audiobooks available on Audible.com, the first one out in the fall and the next one out in January 2021 that will be more detailed and granular and also feature specific meditation exercises. Priced at £3.99, a fraction of the price of other titles, my mentality is that in the current climate people do not have money to burn and I would rather people enjoyed my output and recommended my work and came back for audiobook two and three.  In the meantime, if you do want to contact me if you need one on one help please reach out to me via email.  Record Date 9th July 2020, Copyright Richard Morrell 2020 All rights reserved

Change is hard, change is not natural to human beings, asking for help is hard, knowing who to ask is even harder.

Meditation and mindfullness can really help.  Before you reject it out of hand listen to this podcast and understand that there is a logical state of mind about acceptance and how we need to act as a pressure release valve to listen to our own thoughts and feelings. When we are bereaved, lose our career or deal with loss of relationship or divorce we will all feel the emotion of anger.

In this weeks show I explore how to best deal with that and how to build coping methodologies to turn away from negativity.

I also touch on the health implications that will result if you fail to take my advice and to seek help, if needed, to turn towards the light.

Anxiety impacts on so many peoples lives that often it is mislabelled stress. I talk about the causes of anxiety and discuss some home cooked help you can use or others around you or in your family or workgroups to deal with.

If you are not affected by anxiety, listen anyway, you may be helpful to others who do, but also you may also end up realising that that thing you do, might just be because of anxiety. Copyright Richard Morrell, record date 16th June 2020

Let's talk about change. Let's talk about how we adopt change, how we step through the process. How do we get there ? What does it mean ? How do we start to become better people as we evolve through difficult times of life.

I want you to think about the rationality of change, how we climb over the blocks that stop us being happy, how to really understand what change could mean as part of the new you. But lets not kid ourselves. Change is tough, it can suck, however the end goal is making you more a happier, calmer and inspired you.

Think I'm talking crap ? Listen for yourself as we learn to be happy in a more insecure post Covid world. Copyright Richard Morrell, record date 15th June 2020

This is the first of six episodes of a new series from the UK written and recorded by Richard Morrell, seasoned and award winning podcaster of over 250 podcasts, radio broadcaster and journalist of more than two decades. This series of shows aims to fill a huge hole where Richard himself struggled with coping with feelings of loss, anger, depression, sadness and anxiety over divorce and bereavement.  Are you going through a problem divorce ?  Have you lost a loved one or someone you cared about ?  Have you felt affected by Covid19 and can't afford therapy or are unable to get help from your doctor or health professional ?

Do you not know where to go to get help or you feel isolated and you have nowhere to go to get help ?  This podcast is for you. It won't talk down to you or offer you a miracle cure, but it may help you find your feet and help you start afresh. Keep coming back each week for new episodes and I hope that this provides you solace, support and give you some of the tools you need to reboot.
