The sermon examines the final centuries of Judah to illustrate that outward religious reform cannot substitute for genuine inward spiritual transformation. By analyzing the reigns of kings like Hezekiah, Manasseh, and Josiah, the message demonstrates how the nation experienced cycles of revival and rebellion while their hearts remained unchanged. The preacher argues that relying on the faith of leaders or cultural surroundings results in a fragile belief system that collapses when circumstances shift. Ultimately, Judah's destruction serves as a sobering warning against superficial piety and highlights the necessity of personal, wholehearted devotion to God.
The sermon explores the biblical account of Jesus walking on water to reach His disciples during a violent storm, emphasizing that trials often occur even when believers are following God's will. It highlights the futility of relying on human strength or self-effort to navigate life's chaos, contrasting this with the sufficiency of Christ's divine presence. The central message asserts that Jesus reveals Himself as the 'Great I Am' before removing the storm, teaching that His presence is more vital than the resolution of circumstances. Through personal anecdotes and theological reflection, the preacher urges listeners to place their complete trust in Jesus rather than merely acknowledging His power. Ultimately, the text calls both believers and non-believers to find true peace and eternal salvation by surrendering to Christ as the sole solution for sin and fear.
This sermon addresses the destructive nature of contention, identifying it as a heart issue rooted in pride and anger that divides communities and honors Satan rather than God. Drawing primarily from Proverbs, the speaker explains how contentious individuals act like fuel for a fire, escalating conflicts through selfishness and a desire to be right. The message contrasts this spirit with the biblical call to humility, urging believers to become peacemakers who overlook minor offenses and respond with soft answers. By surrendering to the Holy Spirit, Christians can overcome their natural tendencies toward strife and actively choose forgiveness and unity in their families, churches, and workplaces. Ultimately, the preacher encourages listeners to leave behind the 'gasoline' of contention and instead carry water to extinguish fires, reflecting the character of Christ.
The sermon explores the feeding of the five thousand in John chapter six, emphasizing that Jesus is more than sufficient to meet human needs. It highlights four key discoveries about Christ: His perception of our needs before we recognize them, His ability to use small offerings for great purposes, His provision of abundance beyond expectation, and His ultimate purpose as a spiritual Savior rather than an earthly king. The preacher contrasts the crowd's desire for material blessings with the deeper need for salvation through faith in Jesus. The message encourages believers to trust in God's provision, practice frugality, and love Christ for who He is rather than just what He can do.
The sermon examines the fall of the Northern Kingdom of Israel through the lens of 2 Kings 17, illustrating how God repeatedly sent prophets as warning signs to call His people to repentance. Despite numerous warnings from figures like Elijah, Amos, and Hosea regarding their idolatry and rebellion, Israel hardened its heart and refused to turn back to God. The preacher emphasizes that God's patience and mercy are intended to lead to repentance, not to condone sin, and warns modern believers against ignoring spiritual convictions. By comparing the nation's gradual descent into corruption with personal choices, the message urges listeners to heed divine warnings before reaching a point of no return. Ultimately, the historical account serves as a sobering reminder that rejecting God's word leads to inevitable judgment and exile.
God warns the Delaying today's responsibilities eventually produces tomorrow's disasters. Every believer must learn to replace procrastination with prompt obedience. Proverbs warns us that the danger of slothfulness isn't just that we waste a day; it is that we can gradually waste a life. Join us as we Stop Hitting Snooze on Life.
This sermon explores the divine authority of Jesus Christ as revealed in John chapter five, emphasizing that His voice brings hope to the helpless, life to the spiritually dead, and power over the final resurrection. The preacher contrasts the physical healing of the paralyzed man at Bethesda with the spiritual reality of eternal life available through faith in Christ. Key theological points include the distinction between different resurrections for believers and unbelievers, the nature of judgment, and the danger of relying on religious tradition rather than biblical truth. The message urges listeners to actively respond to Jesus' invitation for salvation and to continually heed His voice for guidance and correction in their daily lives.
1 King 12 is one of the great hinge chapters of the Old Testament. It explains how one United Kingdom became two nations, why the Northern Kingdom immediately went spiritually wrong, and how God remained in control even while proud and fearful men made sinful choices.
This sermon explores the biblical concept of a merry heart as a product of divine wisdom rather than mere personality or circumstance. Drawing primarily from the book of Proverbs, the message outlines three directives for cultivating joy: recognizing its outward expression, understanding its healing benefits, and actively nurturing it through obedience and gratitude. The preacher emphasizes that lasting cheerfulness is developed gradually by aligning one's life with God's truth and maintaining a spirit of contentment regardless of external conditions. Ultimately, possessing a joyful heart refreshes others and strengthens the believer physically and emotionally. The central call is to choose gratitude and cooperation with God to transform one's outlook on life.
This sermon surveys the rise of Israel's monarchy through the lives of Saul, David, and Solomon to illustrate that God evaluates leaders by their internal heart condition rather than external appearance. It contrasts Saul's unsurrendered pride and disobedience with David's faithful reliance on God despite his flaws, while warning against Solomon's drifting devotion caused by worldly compromise. The central message emphasizes that true leadership requires a surrendered heart and complete obedience to God's will. Ultimately, the narrative points beyond these flawed human kings to Jesus Christ, the perfect King whose heart was fully aligned with the Father. The preacher urges listeners to examine their own hearts, pursue surrender, and find hope in the eternal kingdom of Jesus.
The sermon explores Jesus' intentional pursuit of the Samaritan woman at the well, illustrating how Christ seeks out those who are lost or spiritually dry. It highlights four key aspects of this divine interaction: Jesus actively seeks individuals regardless of social barriers, draws them through gentle inquiry, confronts their sin with grace, and offers restoration through living water. The message emphasizes that salvation is not achieved by human effort but received by trusting in Christ's sacrifice for sin. Ultimately, the preacher urges listeners to recognize Jesus' relentless love and respond to His invitation for eternal life.
This sermon explores practical biblical wisdom regarding finances, emphasizing that money is a spiritual tool requiring godly stewardship. The preacher outlines four key principles: honoring God first through tithing, valuing personal character over wealth, avoiding the bondage of debt, and practicing generous giving. By referencing Proverbs and other scriptures, the message argues that integrity and faith must guide all financial decisions to ensure God remains the primary priority. Ultimately, surrendering one's heart and resources to God transforms money from a master into a servant, leading to true spiritual freedom and blessing.
The sermon surveys the book of Judges, contrasting it with the preceding conquest in Joshua to highlight Israel's rapid descent from victory into moral anarchy. It identifies the central problem as spiritual apathy and self-rule, summarized by the refrain that every man did what was right in his own eyes. The preacher explains how partial obedience and tolerated sin led to a downward spiral of idolatry, bondage, and civil war. Despite this national failure, God's persistent grace is shown through the raising up of judges and the preservation of the lineage leading to King David. Ultimately, the message points to Jesus Christ as the true King who offers deliverance from the cycle of sin and self-rule.
The sermon centers on John 3:16-21, emphasizing God's sacrificial love as the foundation for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. It contrasts the spiritual darkness of sin with the illuminating power of Christ, arguing that humanity naturally prefers darkness due to evil deeds but is offered a cure through divine grace. The preacher critiques Calvinist theology by affirming universal availability of salvation and stresses that genuine belief results in immediate eternal life and a transformed lifestyle. Believers are urged to recognize their past sinfulness, remain confident in their secure salvation, and actively walk in the light by witnessing to others. Ultimately, the message calls both the lost and the saved to embrace Christ as Savior and live faithfully in His truth.
This sermon explores practical Christian living through the lens of Proverbs, emphasizing that true wisdom manifests in everyday interactions with neighbors. The preacher outlines four key behaviors for believers: actively helping those in need, maintaining integrity and trustworthiness, choosing peace over conflict, and extending generosity to others. By applying these principles, Christians can demonstrate their faith through tangible acts of kindness and reliability in their daily communities. The message encourages listeners to look beyond theological complexities to focus on immediate, actionable ways to serve and bless those around them. Ultimately, the goal is to become a good neighbor who leaves a wake of blessing rather than strife.
This sermon connects the celebration of American independence with the spiritual liberty found in Jesus Christ, using the Liberty Bell and Leviticus 25:10 as foundational symbols. The preacher argues that true freedom is purchased by Christ's blood and must be protected from both legalism and totalitarian political ideologies. By contrasting earthly fragility with the indestructible nature of soul liberty, the message urges believers to serve one another in love rather than seeking temporary worldly comforts. The central theme emphasizes that while national freedoms are valuable, the ultimate and lasting liberty is the spiritual freedom granted through faith in Christ alone.
This sermon traces the biblical narrative of redemption from Genesis through Joshua, framing it as a journey from bondage to promise. It emphasizes that God hears the cries of His people and delivers them through the blood of the Passover lamb, which points ultimately to Jesus Christ. The message highlights the holiness of God in Leviticus and the necessity of faith over unbelief as illustrated in Numbers and Deuteronomy. It concludes by affirming that God keeps every promise, urging believers to leave Egypt behind, trust in His provision, and live faithfully in the land He has given.
This sermon introduces a series titled "The Bible Road Trip," using the metaphor of Route 66 to illustrate the unified narrative of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. The speaker emphasizes that Genesis serves as the foundational map for understanding the world's origin, the entrance of sin, and God's initial promise of a Savior in Genesis 3:15. By examining key figures like Abraham and Joseph, the message highlights that God's redemptive plan relies on His faithfulness rather than human perfection, ultimately pointing to Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of these ancient promises. The central theme is that despite human failure and brokenness, God remains committed to restoring fellowship with humanity through a specific lineage leading to Christ.
This sermon explores the profound impact of human speech, emphasizing that words possess the power to bring either life or death. Drawing primarily from Proverbs 18:21 and James 3, the preacher illustrates how careless language can wound relationships while wholesome speech offers healing and encouragement. The message outlines four key truths: words can wound or heal, they reveal the condition of the heart, they produce lasting consequences, and true control requires surrender to God. Through biblical examples and practical applications, the transcript urges listeners to guard their tongues, speak with grace, and recognize that only the Holy Spirit can tame the unruly tongue. Ultimately, the goal is to use speech to edify others and reflect Christ's love in daily interactions.
This sermon concludes the book of Ruth by exploring how God transforms ruin into redemption through the faithful actions of Boaz and the patience of Naomi. It highlights three key truths: redemption is completed with integrity despite obstacles, celebration is restored through public praise and divine provision, and hope is revealed in the messier genealogy leading to King David and Jesus Christ. The preacher emphasizes that God works behind the scenes during seasons of waiting, using broken lives and difficult histories to fulfill His redemptive plan. Ultimately, the message points to Jesus as the ultimate Redeemer who pays the price for salvation and brings joy where there was once sorrow.
This sermon explores Ruth chapter three, using the narrative of Ruth approaching Boaz as a metaphor for taking the next step of faith. The preacher emphasizes that true faith involves obeying wise counsel, approaching the Redeemer with humility and honesty, and trusting in His character even when the outcome is uncertain. Key themes include the distinction between seeking God's gifts versus seeking God Himself, the importance of moral integrity, and the necessity of waiting patiently for divine provision. The message concludes by encouraging believers to rest in the finished work of Christ, who acts as the ultimate Kinsman Redeemer.
Ruth chapter two reveals a profound narrative of divine grace unfolding in ordinary circumstances, as a destitute widow, driven by need and faith, steps into a field of providence where God's sovereign care directs her steps to Boaz, a godly man who exemplifies grace beyond obligation. Though Ruth enters seeking only sustenance, she encounters protection, favor, and dignity through Boaz's compassionate leadership, reflecting God's character as the ultimate provider and redeemer. The passage highlights how God's grace is not merely a transaction but a transformation, seen in Ruth's humility, Boaz's integrity, and the broader redemptive plan that points to Christ. It calls believers to recognize God's hand in everyday life, to act with compassion, and to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, where true grace is found.
The passage in Ruth 1 reveals a profound truth: even in the midst of public ruin, personal bitterness, and deep emotional emptiness, God remains sovereign and at work. Naomi's return to Bethlehem, marked by her sorrowful renaming as Mara and her declaration of being empty, reflects a life seemingly at an end, yet it is precisely in this moment that God's providential plan begins to unfold. Though Naomi sees only loss and despair, God has already positioned her at the right place—Bethlehem, the 'house of bread'—at the right time—the beginning of the barley harvest—where provision and redemption are about to emerge. The presence of Ruth, the Moabite daughter-in-law who has chosen to follow Naomi and her God, becomes a divine instrument of hope, foreshadowing God's greater redemptive purposes that extend beyond human understanding. This chapter ultimately calls believers to trust that God's timing is perfect, His provision is certain, and no season of pain defines the final chapter of one's story, for where humans see endings, God is preparing new beginnings.
The sermon centers on the transformative power of encountering Christ, illustrated through the Samaritan woman at the well whose life is reordered after a profound spiritual encounter. It emphasizes that genuine salvation immediately reshapes priorities, leading to a radical reordering of life, as seen in her abandoning her water pot to proclaim Christ to her city. The passage underscores the urgency of spiritual awareness, challenging believers to 'lift up their eyes' and recognize the 'fields white unto harvest'—souls ready for salvation—before it is too late. While the disciples, focused on physical needs, nearly miss the spiritual reality, the woman's simple testimony sparks a citywide response, demonstrating how one transformed life can ignite a movement. The sermon calls the church to active participation in missions, reminding listeners that God has already been at work, and every believer, regardless of status or gifting, plays a vital role in sowing seeds that others may reap, urging a life of surrender, urgency, and faithfulness in sharing the gospel.
The book of Ruth opens not with joy, but with a famine—a painful season that reveals how life's crises often begin beyond our control, yet lead to consequential decisions driven by pressure rather than faith. Though Elimelech's move to Moab seemed reasonable for survival, it led to spiritual compromise and a decade of exile, illustrating how temporary choices can become permanent patterns of separation from God. The narrative unfolds through progressive loss—first the husband, then the sons—leaving Naomi utterly empty, a widow with no inheritance, no future, and no sense of security, mirroring the emptiness sin leaves in every human heart. Yet even in this darkness, the story points to a greater truth: God is at work behind the scenes, orchestrating redemption through a Kinsman Redeemer, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who steps into our brokenness to restore what was lost. As the book progresses, it becomes clear that ruin is not the end, but the necessary beginning of a divine redemption story that culminates in hope, restoration, and the lineage of the Messiah.
The sermon centers on the transformative power of the resurrection, calling believers to live not merely in memory of Easter but in its ongoing reality. It emphasizes that true Christian life begins with a new standing before God—no longer relying on personal righteousness, but being found in Christ through faith. This new standing leads to a new power, as believers are invited to experience the resurrection life daily through surrender, relationship with Christ, and the Holy Spirit's work, not self-effort. The journey includes embracing the fellowship of Christ's sufferings, recognizing that trials deepen intimacy with Him, and pursuing a purpose-driven life marked by intentional forward motion, leaving behind past failures or successes. Ultimately, the Christian life is a pressing toward a future prize—eternal glory secured by Christ's resurrection—where every act of faith and obedience is made meaningful by the certainty of what lies ahead.
The sermon centers on the profound truth that even in the silence and despair of 'Saturday'—the day between crucifixion and resurrection—God is actively at work, though unseen. It emphasizes that while the disciples felt hopelessly buried, their grief was not the end, for God had already accomplished salvation through Christ's finished work on the cross and was preparing resurrection victory in the unseen realm. Drawing from personal testimony and biblical narrative, the message reassures believers that God's silence does not mean abandonment, and that even in life's darkest moments, divine activity is ongoing. The resurrection is presented not merely as a historical event, but as the foundation of living hope, transforming despair into new life for the lost and restoring faith for the struggling. Ultimately, the sermon calls listeners to respond in faith, recognizing that Sunday—resurrection day—is coming, and that Christ's victory is real, personal, and eternally transformative.
This sermon explores the timing of Christ's crucifixion—whether on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday—using Scripture as the sole basis for evaluation, emphasizing that while the exact day is not foundational to salvation, the manner in which believers discuss such matters is crucial. It establishes the non-negotiable gospel truths: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, with the resurrection confirmed on the first day of the week. The central message transcends chronological debate, calling the church to contend for the faith with grace, humility, and gentleness, reflecting Christ's own spirit, and warning against the destructive nature of a contentious or censorious attitude, which undermines the gospel's witness more than any doctrinal disagreement.
Psalm 107 presents a powerful testament to God's enduring mercy, illustrating how He rescues His people from every form of distress—whether spiritual wandering, bondage to sin, self-inflicted suffering, or uncontrollable trials. Through four vivid narratives, the psalm reveals that when individuals cry out in their need, God responds with deliverance, leading the lost to safety, breaking chains, healing the sick, and calming storms. The central message is that God's mercy is not only a past reality but a present and active force, sustaining and restoring even in the midst of life's changing seasons. The proper response to such mercy is not silence, but praise and testimony—calling the redeemed to remember where mercy found them, what it brought them through, and how it continues to work in their lives. Ultimately, the psalm calls believers to recognize God's faithful, loving kindness, to live as living testimonies of His grace, and to proclaim His goodness with joyful, unashamed witness.
The sermon centers on Jacob's transformative encounter with God at Bethel, illustrating how a life marked by deception and flight can become one of worship, reverence, and commitment. Through a divine dream revealing God's presence, covenant promise, and the heavenly bridge of Christ, Jacob experiences a revelation that shatters his apathy, igniting awe and fear before the holiness of God. This encounter produces not only a reverential response—marked by setting up a pillar and naming the place Bethel—but also a heartfelt vow of commitment, including the promise to tithe, demonstrating that true faith responds to God's grace with sacrificial stewardship. The preacher emphasizes that such a turning point is not a one-time event but a lifelong orientation toward God, calling believers to move beyond nominal faith into active, selfless devotion, where the question is not 'What can God do for me?' but 'What can I do for God?'—a shift that reorients the entire life toward divine purpose and eternal significance.
The sermon centers on the transformative power of prayer as the essential ingredient missing from many modern churches, arguing that a genuine praying culture—marked by turning to God first in every circumstance, walking together in intercession, and believing in God's active involvement—can ignite spiritual revival. Drawing from James 5, it contrasts routine religious rituals with fervent, faith-filled prayer that moves God, using examples from Scripture like Elijah's intercession and the early church's prayer meetings to illustrate how prayer is not a last resort but the very foundation of spiritual power. Prayer is not merely a personal discipline but a communal, corporate act that aligns hearts with God's will, fosters dependence on Him, and enables miraculous breakthroughs, urging the congregation to prioritize prayer in their homes, ministries, and church life as the key to lasting spiritual growth and divine movement.
The sermon centers on the tension between divine blessing and personal irritation, using Rebecca's distress over her sons-in-law as a lens to explore how minor frustrations can distort perspective and overshadow God's greater promises. Though blessed with covenantal heritage, spiritual lineage, and divine assurance, Rebecca becomes consumed by her discontent, allowing emotional reactions to eclipse gratitude and trust in God's sovereignty. The message emphasizes that life's irritations—like a persistent alarm or a disliked habit—are inevitable but must not eclipse the overwhelming weight of God's blessings, which include eternal hope, divine purpose, and spiritual gifts. It calls for a transformation of the mind through renewing faith, guarding one's heart, and focusing on eternal realities, warning that unchecked irritation leads to poor decisions and spiritual immaturity. Ultimately, the sermon urges believers to prioritize God's overarching plan over temporary frustrations, trusting that His grace enables endurance and that true joy comes from aligning one's thoughts with His will.
The sermon centers on the imperative to accurately interpret Scripture through diligent, literal, and contextually grounded study, emphasizing that believers must 'rightly divide the word of truth' to be approved by God. Drawing from 2 Timothy 2:15, it argues that the responsibility to understand the Bible correctly is universal, not reserved for scholars, and warns against the dangers of spiritualizing or allegorizing passages, which leads to error and doctrinal confusion. The message contrasts dispensational theology—upholding the distinct identities of Israel and the Church, a literal interpretation of prophecy, and a premillennial view of Christ's return—with covenantal theology, which it critiques for blending Israel and the Church and promoting symbolic interpretations that undermine biblical clarity. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a return to a literal, historical-grammatical method of interpretation, urging believers to resist trendy theological shifts and instead let Scripture speak for itself, ensuring doctrinal stability and a clear vision of God's redemptive plan.
The sermon centers on the spiritual unraveling of King Saul, illustrating how gradual disobedience, pride, and impatience erode character and leadership despite initial promise. Drawing from 1 Samuel 15:22–23, it emphasizes that obedience to God's will is more valuable than ritual sacrifice, warning against substituting pragmatism for principle, and highlighting that partial obedience is still disobedience. The preacher uses vivid metaphors—like a sweater unraveling on barbed wire and a bleach-damaged blouse—to illustrate how pride, self-reliance, and the desire to maintain image can lead to spiritual collapse, as seen in Saul's rejection by God and loss of divine favor. The contrast with David, a man after God's own heart who repented sincerely, underscores the necessity of humility, genuine repentance, and faith in Christ alone for salvation. Ultimately, the message calls listeners to prioritize faithful obedience over visible success, to embrace God's timing, and to turn to Jesus as the only true Savior, rejecting all self-justification and religious performance.
The sermon centers on the enduring value of Christian service, anchored in the hope of resurrection, divine review, and eternal rest. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 15:58, it affirms that labor for the Lord is never in vain because of the future resurrection, which guarantees a glorified body free from suffering and decay. It further emphasizes that believers will face a judgment seat of Christ not for salvation, but for rewards based on their faithful service, where works done in faith and for God's glory—symbolized by gold, silver, and precious stones—will endure, while those done for self or in vain will be consumed like wood, hay, and stubble. The message also highlights the present peace and rest found in Christ, contrasting earthly weariness with the eternal rest awaiting believers, where their faithful deeds will follow them and be rewarded. Ultimately, the sermon calls Christians to persevere in service, not for temporary recognition, but because eternal significance is secured in Christ's victory over death.
The sermon centers on the transformative encounter between Jesus and Zacchaeus, illustrating that true salvation is not found in religious activity, social status, or moral performance, but in a personal, faith-filled response to Christ's initiative. Though Zacchaeus was spiritually lost, financially successful, and socially ostracized, he was drawn by a quiet curiosity that revealed God's prior work in his heart, demonstrating that Jesus actively seeks the lost. Hindered by crowd prejudice and his own physical and emotional limitations, Zacchaeus nonetheless responded with urgency and humility, climbing a tree to see Jesus—symbolizing the lengths one must go to encounter Christ. Jesus, in turn, personally called him by name, accepted him without condition, and invited Himself into his home, affirming that salvation is a divine act of grace, not earned by restitution or religious effort. The resulting transformation in Zacchaeus—evidenced by his immediate commitment to justice and restoration—reveals that genuine faith produces a changed heart and life, not as a condition for salvation, but as its inevitable fruit. The sermon concludes with a powerful call to personal faith, emphasizing that no one is beyond redemption, and that the same grace that reached Zacchaeus and countless others is available to anyone who, in sincerity, turns to Christ in trust.
The sermon presents a clear distinction between two opposing sources of wisdom: earthly, sensual, and devilish wisdom rooted in envy, strife, and self-interest, which produces confusion and division, and heavenly wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, merciful, and sincere, producing righteousness and fruit in the life of the believer. Drawing from James 3, it emphasizes that true wisdom is not measured by knowledge or eloquence, but by the character and conduct it produces—evidenced in meekness, humility, integrity, and consistent obedience to God's truth. The sermon challenges believers to examine their hearts and lives, asking whether their decisions and relationships reflect the fruit of divine wisdom or the chaos of worldly thinking, and calls for a daily reliance on God through prayer and Scripture, recognizing that only His wisdom, available to all who ask, can transform the heart and produce lasting, godly fruit.
The sermon confronts the pervasive yet often unrecognized danger of worldliness—a subtle spiritual condition where affection for the world's values, desires, and systems gradually displaces devotion to God. Rooted in Scripture, particularly Romans 12:1–2 and 1 John 2:15–16, it defines worldliness not by external behaviors alone but by the heart's allegiance, highlighting the threefold enticement of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. The message warns that worldliness operates insidiously, infiltrating through cultural conformity, compromising convictions, and dulling spiritual sensitivity, ultimately leading to spiritual stagnation and divided loyalty. Yet it offers hope through transformation by the renewing of the mind via Scripture, surrendering to Christ, and living by faith, emphasizing that true holiness is not legalism but a heart transformed by love for God, which naturally rejects worldly values and produces a life that demonstrates God's good, acceptable, and perfect will.
The sermon centers on James 1:19–25, emphasizing that true transformation comes not from merely hearing the Word of God, but from faithfully doing it. It warns against the self-deception of being a hearer only—agreeing with truth intellectually while failing to obey—illustrated by the metaphor of a man who sees himself in a mirror and then forgets what he looks like. The passage calls for a life of consistent, obedient faith, rooted in daily engagement with Scripture, where hearing leads to action, and obedience becomes a mark of genuine freedom and blessing. Drawing from historical examples like Charles Spurgeon and biblical narratives, it underscores that spiritual growth is not accidental but requires intentional, sustained practice of God's Word, beginning with a teachable heart and culminating in a life transformed by faithful obedience.
What if the greatest threat we face isn't the enemy we can see, but the limited vision that prevents us from seeing God's provision? This powerful exploration of 2 Kings 6 takes us into a moment of crisis where Elisha's servant wakes to find Syrian armies surrounding them on every side. His panic is understandable—the threat is real, the danger imminent. Yet Elisha remains perfectly calm, not because he denies reality, but because he sees a greater reality. When God opens the servant's eyes, he discovers that the Lord's hosts—chariots of fire and angelic armies—have been there all along, vastly outnumbering the enemy. This isn't just an ancient story; it's a mirror reflecting our own struggles. How often do we wake up with dread in our stomachs, seeing only the bills, the diagnoses, the broken relationships, the overwhelming circumstances? We're not being told to ignore reality or pretend problems don't exist. Instead, we're being invited to pray a simple but transformative prayer: 'Lord, open our eyes that we may see.' Faith doesn't deny what's visible; it recognizes what's invisible but infinitely more real. The message challenges us to understand that God's deliverance isn't something we need to summon—it's already in place before we even recognize the danger. Our bank account may look dire, but perhaps we've forgotten about the deposit that's on its way. The enemy may be real, but God's presence is more real still.
This powerful exploration from James chapter 1 confronts us with an uncomfortable question: why isn't the Bible changing more lives? We all acknowledge Scripture as the most powerful book ever written—penned by 40 authors across 1,500 years, yet telling one unified story of redemption. Kings have tried to destroy it, empires have fallen, yet God's Word remains unchanged and unchanging. So if the Bible is that powerful, why do so many of us remain stuck in the same patterns, the same worries, the same struggles? The answer isn't that Scripture lacks power—it's that we often hear without truly receiving. James reveals that the problem lies not in the seed but in the soil of our hearts. We need a teachable spirit that's swift to hear, a restrained tongue that's slow to speak, and a yielded spirit that's slow to wrath. Before God's Word can take root, we must clear out the moral clutter—the filthiness and overflow of wickedness that clogs our spiritual hearing like wax in our ears. Just as a gardener must pull weeds and prepare soil before planting, we must confess sin and create space for Scripture to sink deep. The Word must be received with meekness, welcomed rather than resisted. When conviction comes, our natural tendency is to argue, defend, or push back—but that anger never produces God's righteousness. Real transformation begins not with doing but with the attitude we bring when we open God's Word. Are we coming with hearts ready to be changed, or are we already forming our defenses?
Welcome to Liberty Baptist Church's Midweek Bible Study and online broadcast! We're so glad you've joined us. We pray you are encouraged by the message. Praise flows naturally from a heart that rightly sees God's character, as exemplified in David's psalm, where worship is not duty-bound but a spontaneous overflow of gratitude rooted in God's majesty, greatness, goodness, grace, and mercy. The sermon emphasizes that genuine praise is persistent, passionate, and personal—refusing to be outsourced or diminished by hardship—because every day brings fresh evidence of God's faithfulness, from deliverance to daily mercies. It is not merely emotional but deeply theological, arising from a clear vision of God's glory and the transformative reality of His grace, which calls for continual, heartfelt worship. This praise must be passed on across generations through intentional teaching and living, ensuring that faith and gratitude are not confined to private moments but become a public, joyful testimony. Ultimately, the believer is called to live in constant awareness of God's presence and provision, offering praise as the natural fruit of a life redeemed and sustained by grace. This message takes us to the shores of Galilee where we encounter a profound truth: Jesus meets us in our moments of failure with warmth, not condemnation. The story from John 21 reveals disciples who are discouraged, uncertain, and returning to their old lives after Jesus' crucifixion. They've fished all night and caught nothing—a perfect picture of our own futile efforts when we're disconnected from God's presence. But here's the beautiful part: when they reach the shore, Jesus has already prepared a fire of coals, bread, and fish. He didn't wait for them to get their act together or prove themselves worthy. He met their physical needs first—warmth and food—before addressing their spiritual restoration. This teaches us something revolutionary about God's character: He prepares comfort before we even know we need it. The fire of coals is especially significant for Peter, reminding him of the fire where he denied Christ, yet now becoming the very place of his healing and restoration. We learn that God doesn't discard His servants when they fail; He rekindles them. Before demanding service, Jesus offers fellowship. Before correction comes compassion. This message challenges us to receive God's warmth when our hearts are cold, to allow Him to meet us at our point of failure, and to trust that He's already prepared what we need for our restoration and renewal.
The sermon, drawn from Luke 11, calls believers to a deeper, more intentional prayer life in 2026 by emphasizing three essential principles: prioritizing prayer through dedicated, distraction-free spaces; cultivating passion in prayer by recognizing its transformative power and longing for personal testimonies of answered prayer; and practicing persistent, importunate prayer, illustrated through Jesus' parable of the midnight request, which affirms that God delights in the faithfulness of those who keep seeking, asking, and knocking. Rooted in the example of Christ's own prayerful life and the promise that 'those who persist in prayer prevail,' the message urges believers to persevere in faith, trusting that God answers not only in timing but with greater abundance than expected, especially in times of crisis and long-term need.

Welcome to Liberty Baptist Church's Sunday Evening service and online broadcast! We're so glad you've joined us. We pray the message is a blessing and encouragement to you. Esther 5 is full of irony, strategy, emotion—and divine fingerprints. One person steps forward in surrender. Another spirals into pride. One risks her life to save others. The other plots a murder to protect his ego. This chapter presents a powerful contrast: one decision is bold, prayerful, and led by faith. The other is driven by pride, rage, and self-importance. One path leads to favor—the other, to a fatal fall. Give online: lbcsearcy.com/give Prayer request: lbcsearcy.com/pray Begin a relationship with Christ: lbcsearcy.com/heaven

Esther 3 records a dark turn in the story—an evil plot against God's people led by a prideful man named Haman. Though God's name is not mentioned, His hand is silently at work. This chapter reminds us that even when wickedness seems to rise unchecked, God is still sovereign, still faithful, and still in control. When Jesus met the woman at the well, He didn't just save her — He sent her. Her story reminds us that abiding in Christ always leads to action. Like her, we're called to leave the waterpot…and share the Savior.
The Christian life is not a passive experience—it's a pursuit. And if we truly want to reflect Jesus Christ, if we want to live the life God saved us to live, we have to put off the old life and put on the new.
Though Acts ends, the work of God continues through His people. Paul's final days remind us that God's mission is not finished; every believer must continue the work. Support our media ministry by giving at www.LBCSearcy.com/give

God will be faithful to His chosen Nation, Israel, and He will be faithful to every New Testament believer according to His promises.
God did not save you just to exist—He saved you to abide, grow, and make an eternal impact. In John 15:12-17, Jesus reveals three unshakable realities of an abiding Christian: You are redeemed by His sacrifice, called into a personal relationship with Him, and sent to bear fruit that remains. This message will challenge you to evaluate your walk with Christ and embrace the life of purpose He has ordained for you.
When everything around us seems to be falling apart, God is still teaching, leading, and preparing us for what's ahead.
Sermon Summary: Prayer is not just about asking for things; it is about yielding our hearts to God's will, preparing ourselves to pray rightly, and trusting in His response. When we abide in Christ, we will pray frequently, effectively, and powerfully, and God will respond in ways that bring Him glory. Series Summary: John 15 is the personal invitation from Jesus Christ to believers to abide in Him daily. This close relationship with Jesus is essential to a victorious, fruitful Christian life. In this intimate, personal, abiding relationship with our Savior, we experience His love in its fullness. Journey with us as we unpack these biblical truths! Persuasion is a powerful force in our lives. Every day, we are bombarded with messages that seek to persuade us—advertisements, news reports, social media influencers, and personal relationships. Some persuasion is beneficial, while other influences lead us astray. In Acts 26, we see three different responses to Paul's message: Festus dismisses it, Agrippa hesitates, and Paul is fully persuaded. The question we must ask ourselves today is: Who do you allow to persuade you?
Sermon Summary: Lasting joy isn't found in circumstances but in abiding in Christ. Even before the cross, Jesus promised a joy that remains, overflows, and is only found in Him. We'll see His challenge to stop chasing temporary happiness and start living in His abiding joy. Waiting is one of the hardest things in life. We live in a culture that values speed—fast food, instant messaging, and same-day shipping. But God's timing often operates on a different schedule.
Sermon Summary: Abiding in Christ isn't just a concept—it's something that should be visible in the way we live every day. If you were arrested today for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? Series Summary: John 15 is the personal invitation from Jesus Christ to believers to abide in Him daily. This close relationship with Jesus is essential to a victorious, fruitful Christian life. In light of all that spiritual warfare is, there is the God of grace It is the grace of God that equips and enables us. In this last part of the 1st Peter epistle, he reminds us us that grace is not something but someone. It is the Lord Jesus Christ. We have all that He is which is more than enough to take us through every season of difficulty. -When we see things through a spiritual and heavenly perspective, nothing can separate us from the love of God. We have supernatural strength and our faith becomes immovable.
Whatever is not of God is of the enemy. We need to understand our enemy and the victory we have in Christ Jesus. He made an open display of defeating Satan at the cross.-Peter gives us a description of the devil so that we can discern who he is, his activities and the way he works.-If you are saved today you have the ability, through the Holy Spirit, to try every spirit to see if they are of God. You try every spirit by the truth of the Word of God.
What does submission and trusting look like in the body of believers-- God so works in our lives that no matter what He calls us to, God is sufficient to cause it to be accomplished in our lives.-We submit by the acceptance, affection for, appropriation of and awareness of God's sovereign rule.-And we know that, from the day of our salvation, God cares for each and every facet of our lives.
Do we understand God's design for His church-- What the role of pastors, deacons and laity is-- The pastor is a God-called man to shepherd the flock of God. His primary call is the Word of God. -He is to provide truth and protect the flock through that truth. One of provision and protection.-The goal is to feed the flock of God to where they don't have to be dependent on the pastor...they can be dependent upon God. Finally, he will have to give account for everything he said and did.
If the righteous, the believers, have to endure difficulty how much more the ungodly and sinners---The greatest testimony to a lost world is how God deals with His children. From that judgment is how God will deal with the lost.-In days of persecution is when the world sees who the church really is...who Christ really is...who God really is. They will see who they really are.
Man's view of trails, afflictions or difficulties is totally different than God's view. Instead of coming unglued and dismayed , we can rest and even rejoice in the midst of them.-Understanding the character and nature of God will help us see things from God's perspective.
All god was going to do and all He was going to say was based on two commandments- Love the Lord your God with all your heart mind and soul. And love your neighbor. Love that is being demonstrated is God being glorified through Jesus Christ. It is His love that is manifested.-Every born again believer has the gift to love with His love.
We live on the eve that the Scriptures have laid out. There is coming a point where God will fulfill all that He was going to do and, at that time, God is going to pull His people out in the rapture.-Peter exhorts us to live every moment of every day in great anticipation, awareness and alertness. -When we have godly thinking and spiritual alertness prayer will be a crucial priority in our lives.
Self governs our lives before God saves us. We satisfy and protect ourselves. What influences us the most-- Is it self or is it the Lord-- With salvation it is no longer the joy of self but now it is the joy of the Lord.-It is good to remind ourselves of who we used to be to better understand who we are now. A biblical testimony is- -this is who I was, this is how I met Christ and this is who I am today-.
Are we willing to obey God no matter the cost-- Christ was willing to obey, not so much the suffering, but in obedience to God, the Father. because His obedience would cause our redemption.-The battle ground for the Christian life is the mind, not the heart. The battle ground is, in fact, the way we think. -Having the mindset of Christ requires us to be equipped with the proper weapon..that is truth..so we can be prepared for whatever may come our way.
When God saves us, He doesn't just give us something. He places us in something...in Christ. And places Christ in us. So whatever is true about Christ can be true about us too.-Salvation is through Christ, by Christ and due to Christ which gives us access to a Holy God. -There are times that God allows us to go through trials and tribulations. But these cannot in any way be compared to what Jesus went through on our behalf. But, praise God, Christ had to suffer only once and never again.
Our conscience is bent toward the world and toward self. But Jesus Christ does a work in us upon salvation. The blood of Christ purged it and made it new- our conscience has been delivered.-The conscience is the means or the road through which the Holy Spirit 's conviction travels. We exercise our conscience by knowing and obeying the Word of God.-A good conscience before the Lord will cause you to walk in the reality of the life you received in the Lord Jesus.
Surrender and submission to the Word of God are true evidence of a child of God. The submissive Spirit is lived out so that all the world will know that you belong to Him.-When the spirit of God has control of your ways, your words and your witness, the favor of God begins to rest upon you. Remember that the promised land is not heaven one day..it is the life of Christ in you now.
There is a difference between occasional or casual fellowship and continuous fellowship with God. Do we desire and delight to be in His presence---Can we be at rest without intimate fellowship with God-- Who can live in His presence, in intimate fellowship with Him-- -He that lives out the righteousness of Christ before God and before others, both upwardly and outwardly. One who speaks the truth in his heart. One who has a heart that is consumed and consistent in truth.
This message describes what it means to be a biblical husband in a biblical marriage according to God's design.-There was great responsibility laid upon Adam as the head of God's design for the home. It can never work when self is at the center. God sees husbands and wives the same way through Christ.-There is joint surrender and submission. Just as a wife is to submit to the authority of a husband as God has designed, there is also submission for the husband to his wife.
The principle of submission and surrender is evident in Genesis to Revelation. We can't walk in the reality of the Christian life without this principle and it carries over to the home.-The only way to have a biblical family and home is to trust and put God first. This does not make a women a lessor person, it makes her a biblical person. How a women lives speaks much louder than words. -No one can do this of themselves. It is only through the Lord Jesus that this can become a reality in a women's life.
Christ lives in and through the believer and, like Him, we are going to be mistreated.-The only way our salvation and righteousness could be achieved was Christ submitting to wrongful treatment. -Christ, as man, constrained Himself when He was reviled but reviled not. His life said what words would never have to say in submission to His Father. He was constrained to willfully, and passionately submit because of His confident peace in the Father.-The greatest evidence of the life of the Lord Jesus in the believer is the constraint, through the grace of God, they show in how they respond to mistreatment.
In our flesh we do not want to submit to anyone we disagree with. But if we are saved, we are free to obey God which allows us to submit to those who God has allowed us to be under.-We are yielded and submitted to Him in such as way that God controls our emotions, our wills, and conquers who we are. -How does the world know that we're submitted to the Lord if we don't submit to the authorities the Lord has placed over us.-While we don't deserve to be mistreated because of our faith Instead of responding in the flesh and in anger we respond in grace. The same grace that God showed to us.
If I am dead to who I was but now alive unto God, set free from sin and myself, then I am also set free to obey God. The Liberty of our salvation drives us to more holiness.-We are to submit, to place, ourselves under the authority of the institutions that God has allowed to be placed over us. As Christians we are obligated to submit if it does not go against the mandate of God.
What should be our response in light of how God sees His children and what He has done in and through us-- A Christian's lifestyle and conduct before a lost world tells the truth about who we say we are. Let our lives be honest about who we really are. -If we walk in the flesh we cannot do what we would like to do but if we walk in the Spirit we will not do what we shouldn't do.
Our greatest need is to know who we became when we became a child of God. We first need to know how God sees us, who are saved, before we can see ourselves. -God sees us as a Holy Nation set apart unto Him for His glory. A separate and sanctified people set aside for His possession.-Ian Thomas once said -As a child of God, filled with the life of God, we should be an audible and visual representation of who God is to a lost and dying world-
The part that all of our Christian lives is built upon is Jesus Christ, the cornerstone. When we surrender to Him by faith we will never have our hopes dashed or be disappointed in Him. We will find hope, peace and happiness nowhere else than in the chief cornerstone, Jesus Christ.-Once saved, the obedience of faith becomes the outflow of our lives. People see that obedience to truth and do not see it in themselves. By our example the cornerstone has been laid and when God plants the cornerstone within them, their Christian life can begin.
Do we understand who we became when we became children of God---God sees us in a greater light than just being forgiven, just being His children, more than being saved, more than being redeemed. He sees us as His spiritual building that He has put together piece by piece, saved by saved, one by one with Jesus Christ as the living Cornerstone.-The foundation of the building is truth. Christ, the cornerstone, is the truth made flesh, the truth lived out.
Since we have experienced that the Lord is gracious and merciful we desire to know Him even more. We have tasted and have found that the Lord is good.-If we do not have a burning desire for the sincere milk of the Word of God can we say that the Spirit of God does not live in us-- -The role of the Holy Spirit is to instill that desire within us. As we desire, indeed crave, the Word of God we will continue to grow day by day.
Can we love others, even those who are against us, in the the same way God loves us-- These verses speak of the motivation, the miracle, the means and the message God has for us to -love one another as I have loved you-.-God sees us in all our failures and wickedness -the reality of who we were- yet loved us unconditionally and sent His Son to take our place so that we would be able to love one another as He loved and loves us.
Have we lost the awe of our redemption-- Redemption not only delivers us from sin and self, it also delivers us from religion -performance to appease God-. -The redeemed are not surrendered to the facts of the Lord, but rather to the person of the Lord. He is the source and sufficiency of our faith and hope.-Tom Watson, a Puritan of old, said great was the work of creation- greater still is the work of redemption. Creation was the work of God's fingers and Word- redemption is the work of His arm and heart.
He is always God but to the redeemed He is Father. It is a privilege of grace granted only to the redeemed. We will be continuously calling upon Him as Father with a heart of worship, not asking for anything of Him, but just to be alone with Him and praise Him for who He is.-As we grow in grace and knowledge we become more sensitive to what looks like the Father and what does not. We are called to be holy by He who is holy, reminded that as pilgrims, this is only our temporary home.
Do we resemble a Holy God-- Peter admonishes us to stay focused on our salvation, not on fleshly thoughts. If we think wrong, we will live wrong. He encourages us to keep a biblical perspective of what God had given us, who we are and who He is. Focus on the hope and grace we have in Jesus Christ. He reminds us to not let the world conform us back to who we used to be.-Peter reminds us that because God is holy we will also be holy. In Leviticus 11-44-45, 19-2, 20-7 and 20-26 God reveals that holiness cannot only be a reality but is God's standard.
The most blessed person on earth is a born again child of God indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God for the glory of God.-What the prophets tried to expose in the Old Testament became a reality in the New Testament. The Spirit of God came upon the prophets, enabled the prophets, spoke to them in visions and signs, moved the prophets and inspired them.-What we know by experience they only knew by revelation. They longed to experience what we experience today. What they were trying to tell us in the Old Testament has become real to us.
Can we rejoice even in the midst of difficult trials-- God is trying to teach us to trust and lean on Him alone. In our humanity trials are hard, they hurt and are sorrowful but when we realize that what ever God allows or initiates, He is trying to do a good work in us. -Many true Christians have the same difficulties the lost world has in walking through tough times because they don't see that God is at work- they only see the hurt. Charles Spurgeon once said that it takes little faith to take our souls to heaven but it takes great faith to bring heaven to our souls.
These three verses speak of exaltation, expectation and excitement as we look to the mercy and grace of God.-Only God alone deserves praise and adoration as we give our all to Him. He is, after all, the Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The saved are to praise on the basis of our salvation but there is even more yet to come. -We have little idea of what we have in Christ and therefore enjoy very little of it. We have no idea of the inheritance that is ahead of us in our hope and therefore let trials dismantle us.
How important is our salvation to God-- It took the whole triune Godhead to make our salvation a reality. the Father thought it, the Holy Spirit wrought it and the Son brought it.-If we are saved today it is because God initiated our salvation and enabled us to be saved. Could we have rejected Him-- Yes. Did the Spirit of God sanctify and made us pure before God-- Yes. Is obedience a natural outflow of what God did in us-- And cleansed us-- Yes.
What does -elect according to the foreknowledge of God, the Father- mean-- This statement has confused and even divided many churches.-The father, Son and Holy Spirit all have a part in our salvation.-Just because God knows who will be saved and who is going to reject Him does not mean that God does not give opportunity to those that will reject Him. -Through creation, consciousness and conviction every man, women, boy and girl will stand before God on the basis of what they did with the light He gave them. Here we see the mercy of God, the mind of God and the manner of God as He looks into every heart.
Was Esau truly repentant about forsaking his birthright for a meal-- Esau believed that he deserved to be blessed just as Jacob was. He begged, cried and wept. He was broken over what he did not have but wanted. He was broken over the wrong thing. He was never broken or repented over what he had done.-Esau never saw his sin. He blamed Jacob for taking his birthright from him. He wanted Issac to repent of giving the blessing to Jacob. But it was too late. The blessing could not be divided.
Incredible contrast between Mount Sinai and Mount Zion.-At Mt. Sinai God rested for a moment. At Mt. Zion God made it His dwelling place. At Mt. Sinai no one could touch the mountain, much less approach a Holy God. At Mt. Zion you are already in His presence.-A God that was unapproachable at Mt. Sinai, that brought fear before the people, is the same God that has ushered you into heaven and placed you at the right hand of the Majesty on high.-We can approach a Holy God because God made us holy in Christ. We now have the same access to God that Christ has.
Habakkuk understands the magnitude of what God was about to do. God would remove everything, in their minds, that was the source of their joy and contentment. As long as he knew that God was going to accomplish His perfect will he understood that God was greater than any of his physical needs.-Joy is not resting in circumstances. Joy is resting in the Person. Joy is letting that Person work in you whereby His joy overrides the circumstances.
Here Habakkuk begins to sing about the mighty worker and not so much the mighty works as he elevates God.-Habakkuk knows what God is going to do. He knows what is coming and what the outcome will be. At the same time he equally knows that his God is a mighty God and that He can use whatever is at His disposal to correct and bring Judea back to their land.-He confesses that at first he had only an outward look which caused trembling and desperation within himself. Now he also confesses his upward look and could rest, patiently waiting with great trust.
Habakkuk knew that God would shake the nations and bring Israel out of Babylonian captivity as He did with Egypt. No nation can stand against God's sovereign will. But there is coming a day when God will shake the nations one last time.-Here Habakkuk speaks of the care of God, the claims and control of God. Further he sings of the conquering and character of God.-When you have an understanding of who God is by His Word and His Holy Spirit He will shake you if you are not saved. if you are saved, God will continue to shake you.
We see Habakkuk's prayer in verses 1 and 2. In verse 3 he begins a song composed of several stanzas. He begins his song singing of the presence of God, His purity and holiness, His power and penetration. He sings of the glory of God in the heavens.-He knew that God was going to come, to deliver them but not before dealing with the sins of both nations.
Here Habakkuk acknowledges and accepts what he heard from God. He is also in awe about what God said about Himself and about what God said He would do. -Habakkuk's attention is not on Judea or the Chaldeans but only on God. Instead of being confused about God's ways he is now confident in God's ways. He now accepts what God is up to. He is anxious for it to take place in his lifetime but asks Him to be merciful in His wrath.
God is telling Habakkuk that He will do what He said He would do. The Chaldeans will take their land and property because Judea has sinned against God. He reminds Habakkuk that because He is sovereign, He can use an evil people like them as a tool of grace in the life of Judea. He will not look over their sin. The Chaldean's sin will be their downfall.-Here God speaks of their sinful pursuits, pride, practices, pleasures and sinful praise that will lead to their eventual downfall.
In verse 5 God begins to tell Habakkuk that He knows Babylon and Belshazzar. That they relentlessly pursue what they want but have no rest. Their sins know no bounds. -Their quest for more and more of the sin in their lives will do them in. Sin will betray and deceive them. But, they do not know it yet.
The just shall live by His faith. We don't know how long Habakkuk was waiting for God to speak after his complaints at the end of chapter one. Here he begins to hear God speak. -We are reminded that God knows what is best and when it is best. When we don't understand what and why God is doing, he remains faithful at all times.-But we have a blessed hope. With that hope we can continue to walk and wait by faith.
Did Habakkuk know what it meant to -be still and know that I am God--- Be watchful and focused on God and not on what is going on around us. The greatest evidence of our faith being real is that we can wait and not be discouraged. If we lose focus and become discouraged, we quit listening to the voice of God and, many times, quit praying.-God is always speaking but we need to be in a place where we can receive and respond.
Does God seem to be confusing at times-- Habakkuk does not understand why God would use a nation much less righteous than his own as a tool of grace. He has not lost faith in God but is bewildered and confused at how God could use a wicked nation and still maintain His own holiness.
In answer to Habakkuk's cry, God teaches him to focus at what He was doing through another nation. God gives revelation here but not explanation since He previously told Israel what was about to take place.-Habakkuk needs to learn of God's ways and His willingness to go to any measure or any depth to work repentance in His people.
Habakkuk saw the desperation, the destruction and degradation of Judea through the eyes of truth. -What the people of Judea learned to accept as being -okay- was unacceptable to Habakkuk, the prophet. But to Habakkuk what God said made no sense to him. What God did not do made no sense. What God was going to do made no sense.-He had to learn to embrace the Lord by faith even when he perceived that God made no sense to him whatsoever.
Hebrews 11-7 provides a full glimpse from God's Word of what faith is, it is manifested and what it brings. -Faith's full picture is painted in the portrait of Noah. Noah's life and witness by his faith lived out exposed and condemned this world. This is what faith looks like, how it begins, how it is demonstrated, how it is steadfast and how it continues on year after year..
Enoch was walking with God in a time when every man was self-centered and self-satisfying. He had a testimony and faith that pleased God when no one else wanted anything to do with Him.-In this message Pastor Mack Tester describes the repentance, the reality and the rapture -or translation- of Enoch.

Jesus and Peter are using the same word, but they are talking about different things. What does the word Christ mean- Who and how do you define it-
There are some things that creep into our minds and heart that can make Christ unrecognizable to us. Be careful when deconstructing your faith that your questions are not the conclusions.
Humans face disaster, demons-evil, disease, and death. Does Christ care about our crisis-
How would you define your relationship with Christ- Truth is, His demands define the relationship rather than our opinions. In Mark 3 we encounter 5 groups in relational orbit around Jesus. Which one are you-
A group of disgruntled people seek a Savior in the wilderness. Finally he emerges but immediately he is confronted by a sick and evil world. How will the Savior fare against such forces- The past couple of years have been pretty bad in our times. What difference does Jesus' time on earth make in a world like this-
Psalm 111 celebrates what God is doing in the life of HIs people. It is an enthusiastic, public giving of thanks. Paul does a great job of this in his NT writings. He is always thanking God for what He is doing in the lives of people. Here are 4 groups of people for whom you need to give thanks.
Psalm 107 tells 4 comeback stories. When we cry out to God for deliverance, the answer is always -Yes.- God's power is always available and God's people return from various places. Let's thank God for our comeback stories.
We are more careful with our decisions when we have -skin in the game.- Skin in the game is putting your money where your mouth is. It's not an audacious promise, but a calculated action in which there is risk. So how does God end the message of Leviticus- He doesn't call for promises. He calls for His people to put skin in the game.
If a loving, all-powerful God exists then why does he permit so much evil and suffering in the world- There are various responses to that question. The Bible answers the question by revealing the loving interaction of a good God in an evil world. The message of Leviticus is that God is so ready to bless that He is willing to curse so that you and I would turn away from sin and turn to Him for salvation.
What if I were to pitch to you an economic plan in which once in a generation property is returned, debt is forgiven, poverty is eliminated by redistributing wealth, and agricultural lands were allowed rest from environmental impact, how would you respond- It's not an economic plan from any political party. It isn't socialism and it isn't the Green New Deal. It's an economic plan from Leviticus 25. Following these principles will help you eliminate debt, build savings, and put money decisions in proper perspective.

Leviticus 12-15 are strange chapters of Scripture about rashes, skin discoloration, blood issues, and diseases. When sick, God did not send His people to a physician, but a priest. Is the Bible superstitious and unscientific- What does it mean to be truly healed-
The dietary laws in Leviticus 11 seem arbitrary. What is their purpose- The answer comes in verses 44 and 45. This is a diet for spiritual schizophrenics to help us get a grip on the reality of an ever-present God. The borders of holiness expand from the Tabernacle to the table.
We have a worship problem. The correction is found in the question of a brokenhearted father who has just lost his sons in a tragic worship fail.
What is the profile of a person so bad that even God has given up on them- You may be surprised because you see it all the time. This the mugshot of blasphemy.
Is your time with God cookout or takeout- For southerners, cookouts are about swapping sauces and stories. It's about eating and getting together. The peace offering in Leviticus is unique in that the offerer gets to eat it. It's about being in the presence of God and enjoying fellowship with Him.
Leviticus 2 is a recipe for bread. What are you supposed to get out of this chapter of the Bible- The answer- NOTHING. Leviticus 2 is the essence of an offering. It is something you bring to God out of obedience because it pleases Him.
When we ask for forgiveness, is this just a free pass to sin again- What exactly is God doing when we ask for forgiveness- The burnt offering in Leviticus shows the worshiper what happens to our sin when we trust Christ as our sacrifice for sin.

The goal of singleness isn't marriage. If not, then what is it- Many churches get it wrong when it comes to singles ministry. The goal of singles ministry should be the same as the Biblical goal of singleness.
Women and men are equal, but not the same. God distinctly created a female version of the -image of God.- In a culture in which the gender lines are being blurred and women are to be treated the same as man, the Bible stands in stark contrast.

People struggle with the purpose of God in suffering. Why do we suffer- Why does life hurt so bad--In addition to dealing with our broken bodies and our broken brains, those who seek to follow Christ will suffer rejection, persecution, and criticism from both inside and outside the church. -In 2 Corinthians 4 a man who was -afflicted on every side- gives us an eternal perspective on suffering. It is what keeps him going. It is the encouragement we need to realize that in Christ, our suffering is not an eternal waste of time.
Is it wrong to want nice things- Is it wrong to be ambitious or successful- A man requested that Jesus intervene in a dispute with his brother other their inheritance. Jesus refused. Jesus' reason was that the decision would be dangerous for the man's future. Covetousness is desire on fire. It promises a false future we cannot secure.

For a person to be saved they must first realize that they are lost. The Romans Road is a simple gospel presentation using verses from the Bible's Book of Romans. It is a good way to help a person realize they are lost and how to be saved.
If you were out on a lake and someone fell out of the boat, would you throw them something to save their life or would you lecture them on how life jackets are made- Obviously, you would do everything you could do to save their life.--A gospel presentation is not a full explanation of Biblical Christianity. It won't answer the tough questions and it is not an apologetic that will help you explain your faith to an atheist. A gospel presentation is a life vest. It is enough to use for those who realize that they are in danger and need salvation.--In the 1950's, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, developed a simple way to share your faith called The Four Spiritual Laws. In this message I survey these important principles of the gospel.--Here is your challenge. Tell someone that God loves them. Throw them a life vest. Every 1 matters- Share your faith-
