May 28, 2020 - We are back! After a month and a half hiatus, we have returned in light of recent events involving race in our country. In this episode, the focus will be on interracial relationships and whether they are Biblical or not. We need to see color and appreciate the differences but see our common humanity. We need to fight against racism, both blatant and subtle. We all need to look at ourselves and assess whether we are helping or hurting the cause.

Edit: Somehow I completely missed that I misspoke in my initial recording where (starting at 11:10) I made it seem by my misspeaking that somehow it is wrong for Christians to marry other Christians, which could not be further from the truth. What I meant to communicate from that little section was if you are a Christian then God is opposed to you marrying non-believers (you can read more about this in my book which I hope will come out soon). If you are a Christian and you want to marry someone from another race then nothing in Scripture is opposed to you doing so as long as they are a Christian themselves. I apologize that I misspoke and I apologize for anyone who heard it and was maybe led astray in their thinking due to my comments, which I had mixed up. I considered taking the episode down but wanted to leave it up for the sake of the valuable conversation and I trust that I can be forgiven for my error and that people could determine where I truly stood on the topic based off the context of the rest of the episode.

March 25, 2020 - Christians are notorious for having an overcomplicated and hyper-spiritualized dating culture. In this first episode of a multi-part series on dating cultures, host Landen Swain discusses the phrase "God Told Me..." and how it affects the dating culture around us. This content is taken from his upcoming book on Dating Cultures, which he is currently writing. Note: the line about "hide people from what be my opinion" is not a call-out of any particular teacher and I believe it to be a good prayer to pray but we must recognize that God's written Word carries His authority, not the articulations of man. Even Scripture can be distorted and we must be mindful of that. We also want to note that we don't want to completely limit God in saying He can't speak to people and guide them, but we do hold to the belief that God speaks and guides mainly through His written Word. We go further into talking about how God guides us (both now and in Scripture) in the book, but did not fully address it here. Switching subjects entirely, we hope you like the now shortened opening and closing theme song.

All Scripture is read from the English Standard Version unless otherwise noted.

March 17, 2020 - This pilot episode of the Converswaintion Podcast, hosted by Landen Swain, vulnerably discusses the struggles and biblical implications of beauty. Either we or someone we know struggle with self-image issues. But what does the Word of God have to say about the topic of attractiveness? How should we see ourselves in light of Scripture? Bouncing between multiple passages such as Psalm 139 and Exodus 4, this opening podcast episode goes deep into the difference between how God sees us versus how the world around us sees us and then ends with practical advice on how to love those who struggle with self-image issues. Be sure to follow us on Instagram to keep up to date with all the upcoming episodes. We hope you enjoy this episode and it helps you praise the Lord and trust Him further as you contemplate beauty.  (All scripture is read from the English Standard Version unless otherwise noted.)
