"Good day, Steve and Colin,
I know that you have addressed Impressionism and how to achieve it using pastel pencils (thank you!). I have just recently been introduced to oil pastels, and naturally they lend themselves to Impressionistic artwork.
My question for you, Colin: Have you ever worked with oil pastels, and if so, do you recommend them? Would you ever consider doing a video using oil pastels?

Robyn sent in her picture of the Peaches project asking for some advice. Robyn writes:
"So...a few things...
1. I am still new at pastels and so I'm not always sure if I'm pressing too hard;
2. Blending edges is hard for me. I didn't have as much trouble blending inside the peach, but the outsides look very "fake" to me;
3. What sharpener does he recommend for the pencils? His seem a lot sharper than mine will get.
4. Again...I keep trying for that "realistic" look - but I'm still a novice. I draw from scratch instead of using the print-out for practice. I guess it all takes time.
Also, I had my paper turned the other way...the teeth ran up and down even though my picture was horizontal. Lol. That also made it hard."

Paul, who is one of our members, sent in his picture of the Two Pretty Birds for some advice. This is one of the bonuses to joining our membership. Paul writes:
"Hi there, just finished the course “Two Pretty Birds” which are Black Masked Love Birds. I reduced the size to A5 as this is nearer the actual size of the birds and looks cuter. I also added a pupil to the bird on the right left eye. The tree branch was difficult and also getting the claws to stand out, I know they should have been in shadow but this made them disappear from sight.
