These verbs, which combine a basic verb with one or more particles (prepositions or adverbs), often carry idiomatic meanings that cannot be easily deduced from the individual words. By understanding and mastering phrasal verbs, learners can significantly improve their fluency and comprehension, enabling them to express themselves more naturally and understand native speakers more effectively.

Although not commonly used in the English language, I often get asked about the word "Shall" by a lot of my English Learning Students.

They want to know how to use it and when to use it.

Sometimes they even use it incorrectly.

So I decided to make a lesson about it since I have been teaching about Modal Verbs as of late, I felt this would be the perfect time to address this word.

"Shall" can be used to find out if someone things a certain suggestion is a good idea.

In the US, if you use this word, people will not find it strange, rather they will know you are not a native speaker of the English language, unless you are British or perhaps from another English speaking country where "shall" is used more frequently.

But in the US, it is not common to hear this word used often and is sometimes considered an outdated word or a word from much older times.

Here are 10 common phrasal verbs that every English learner should know.

These phrasal verbs are used among native English speakers and for those of you who are learning to speak English, this is a great place to start learning phrasal verbs.

A phrasal verb is a word that consists of 2 or 3 words together and they have a specific meaning or sometimes, two or more meanings. The phrasal verb is a verb and a preposition or two put together. Phrasal verbs with 3 words are called: three part phrasal verbs.

In this English class, I will teach you what these phrasal verbs mean, how to use them in a sentence, and give you examples of ways you can use them in your speech. I also encourage you to write some sentences in the comments using these phrasal verbs so you can begin using them now.

After the video, leave me a comment and tell me if you have already heard of some of these phrasal verbs and which ones are new to you!
