One of the common themes I've learned over the years and after over 200 episodes is that business is business. The same principles apply for most businesses starting out and the keys to success are basically the same. So when I had a chance to interview Michael Silva, I jumped on the opportunity.
Michael is a business coach who is trying to save the physical therapy profession. During this episode, it became quite clear that health coaches and physical therapists are industries that have many common struggles. As both occupations have similar missions as wellness practitioners, they also share business struggles from building client relationships to managing pricing and business growth.
Michael joins the show to share his passion of helping physical therapists build the practice of their dreams. He empowers private practice owners to create fulfilling and profitable businesses by niching down, targeting their ideal market, and delivering exceptional experiences. Michael also shares how his journey began as a sports medicine physical therapist and quickly becoming disillusioned with the traditional healthcare model. The turning point came when he decided to start his own practice, driven by the support of his wife and the desire to create a more meaningful career.
This decision led to great success and fulfillment, inspiring him to help others do the same. Through his journey, Michael developed the 5 O's Method, a unique approach to helping physical therapists build successful private practices. Now, Michael is on a mission to transform the profession, one private practice at a time.
When we hear about successful businesses, we often hear stories about the strategies that got these businesses to where they are. Whether that was a brilliant marketing campaign, or a unique branding idea. But we often don't get a glimpse of the mindset shift required to make radical changes in ourselves, especially when we are coming from traditional 9 to 5 jobs or corporate settings.
In this episode, we dive deep into the mindset transformations essential for unlocking your entrepreneurial potential. We explore how shifting your identity from a traditional employee to a proactive entrepreneur is key to business success. You'll learn how to reframe limiting beliefs, embrace new habits, and adopt the mindset of a leader. Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your business to the next level, this episode will guide you through the psychological and emotional shifts required to become the CEO of your own life and business.
To share how to shift, we invited Rashi Nayar to the show. Rashi is a business coach and IIN alum who helps driven coaches scale to 7 figures through done for you marketing and content creation organically.
Podcast guesting is a powerful strategic tool for personal branding and business growth. By appearing on other people's podcasts, you can easily expand your audience, establish authority in your niche, and build meaningful connections. Podcast guesting also allows you to leverage these appearances to amplify your message, enhance credibility, and ultimately drive more opportunities to your business.
In this episode, we invited Sam Brake Guia to the show to discuss his experience in the podcast guesting world. Sam is the Co-Founder of PodWritten, a podcast guest booking service who aims to helping health and wellness professionals get booked on podcasts. He is also the host of the hit podcast Mics to Millions.
The number one complaint health coaches have when starting out in their practice revolves around client acquisition. How do we get consistent clients, especially when we are brand new to the game? How do we get clients when we aren't established and we might be on a tight budget as well? This dilemna is the main reason why health coaches never get their businesses off the ground and end up putting their certifications in the attic.
In this episode, we invited Michael Krug back to the show to share his brilliant strategy on getting consistent clients. Mike leverages Facebook groups to demonstrate his expertise and ends up getting paying customers readily willing to jump on his offers. Listen in as Mike gives a step by step approach on this art and how this cost effective approach has been the backbone of his business.
Imagine the power of having insider corporate financial strategies for your health coaching business? How much of a powerful infusion that would be! In this episode, Danielle Hendon shares insights on applying these strategies to small and medium-sized businesses. There's a lot that can be learned when you are working at Fortune 500 companies that can be transferable to a small business. These valuable insights help you mold your vision at a significantly broader scale and allow you to put into practice the successful strategies that these large companies routinely employ.
In this episode, Jennifer Lackey shares her expertise in helping businesses achieve sustainable growth and scalability. Drawing from her experiences at McKinsey and Company and Nike, as well as her education from Harvard Business School, Jennifer discusses key strategies for building strong foundations for long-term success.
As a health coach, I really love data. We are often at a disadvantage when it comes to data because unlike doctors, we generally don't have easy access to testing or labwork. But what if we can actually access critical information that has huge health implications right from wearable tech? With the help of heart rate monitors that are easily accessible on our phones or other wearable devices, we can get to know our clients body better and help them gain better control of their stress balance and their autonomic nervous system. To share his insights on the benefits of capturing your heart rate variability, we invited Dr. Torkil Færø to the show. Dr. Torkil is the author of The Pulse Cure and joins the show to describe how tuning into your heart rate variability can show you how your personal constitution reacts to specific stressors and help us tailor what is needed for optimal health.
How quickly we forget! Once upon a time, the online fitness and coaching world wasn't a thing. Then the world changed. We all adapted to a world where we moved our lives online. Still, that transition isn't easy and there's a lot of mistakes a health coach or a trainer can make that can stall their success.
To demonstrate how he navigated the transition and how he built a booming online business, we invited Cody Watkins to the show. Dubbed the “King of Transformation,” Cody is a renowned online fitness coach with an amazing story. Starting his fitness journey at 15, he quickly rose to become a top trainer and then boldly launched his own online coaching business, which he has now scaled worldwide. With a holistic approach to health and fitness, Cody empowers others to overcome their challenges and transform their body, mindset, and life. His influence extends far and wide, with over 75,000+ followers on Instagram and thousands of clients all over the planet.
Health coaches are naturally helpers. We authentically care about our clients and are out for their best interests. This puts us at a distinct business advantage! Putting clients first is essential for building a successful business. This approach fosters loyalty, trust, and positive word-of-mouth referrals. When clients feel valued and understood, they are more likely to remain loyal and recommend your services to others. This client-centric approach not only enhances customer satisfaction but also drives business growth and sustainability.
Stephanie Fusnik joins the show to drive this point home. Stephanie is nutrition coach, personal trainer, manual osteopathic and neurokinetic therapist, public speaker, and CEO of VitalityOET. VitalityOET is a women's nutrition, health, and fitness company that focuses predominantly on women's hormones, particularly during perimenopause and onwards. The company's mission is to teach women about how their bodies change during this period of their life so that you can finally reach your health and fitness goals, feel in control and at home in your body again, live a life full of vitality, and really understand how to take care of this new body.
One of the most popular life phrases is, "It's not what you know, it's who you know". This holds true for successful health coaching practices as well. By building your network, you can get one of the most sought after leads any business owner would desire: referrals. To this day, nothing beats a referral. And mastering how to network in a way that gets you referrals will only build your bottom line.
To explain how to properly leverage your current network, we invited Kenneth Tinglum to the show. Kenneth is a nutrition expert and a National Trainer at BNI. His mission in both roles is to empower and uplift—whether it's helping business owners and professionals expand their networks and increase their revenue through building relationships and helping eachother, or guiding individuals towards their optimal health and wellness. Since 2007, he has been deeply involved in both, nurturing dynamic business networks and creating better health.
Is organic traffic dead? Not exactly. However, it isn't free. It costs a ton of time. So if you want to grow your business fast, you should consider spending money over spending your time. Health coaches can use paid ads to find more people by using ads on a variety of platforms from Facebook to Google and get themselves in front of their ideal clients in a hurry. But this is an art and we would never recommend haphazardly throwing money against the wall with ads either.
So to guide us through the world of paid ads, we invited Yuri Elkaim to the show. Yuri is the CEO of Healthpreneur and a New York Times bestselling author. Yuri overcame early health challenges and a career in professional soccer and built an online health empire, impacting over 500,000 lives and authoring three bestselling books. After selling his business in 2018, he launched Healthpreneur®, guiding health professionals in creating successful virtual practices. Since then, he has helped over 1300 entrepreneurs earn over $217M in collective revenue.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. It's a phrase that is often said for many reasons and it fits the current world of marketing just the same. No matter what the latest fad method of marketing that comes out, the basics of marketing tend to stay the same. Basically, what problem do you solve and what do you do to solve it?
To dive into this simplistic formula, we invited Tiago Faria to the show. Tiago help coaches, mentors, consultants and other help professionals systematically uncover premium dream clients using their current contact/follower/subscriber lists. He is a former Google employee and worked as a Google Ads specialist and consulted for some of the biggest companies in Europe and the Middle East. He joins the show to share how the basics of marketing are timeless principles and you can start getting more leads at whatever point you are in your business.
Running a business is only one aspect of your life, even if it seems like it consumes everything else. How many times have certain areas of life were neglected in order to keep our businesses afloat? Has our health suffered? Our relationship with our loved ones? Has our connection to spirit taken a hit? Like it or not, these aspects of ourselves need to be shored up in order for any business venture to thrive and that balance is key to any profitable practice.
So to discuss how this plays out in real life, we invited Dedee Cai to the show. Dedee is the founder and a performance coach of FIT TO PROFIT, a company that utilizes psychology, cognitive science, holistic wellness to help entrepreneurs get holistically fit to attain peak level of performance in their life and businesses. She recently published a book The Overcomer: Conquer Your Fears to Achieve Your Goals in hopes for others to seize their own opportunities for success. DeDee married her love for living an optimal lifestyle, and business to create FIT TO PROFIT. She believes that your self-worth is your net worth, and she’s on a mission to empower women to live up to their own potential unapologetically while changing the world.
I know the legal aspect of health coaching isn't the first and foremost thing on the mind of a health coach. But we do live in a litigious society. With that being said, we need to protect the business that we are creating. The great thing about it is that it isn't that difficult to put in place, especially when you have Cory Sterling in your corner.
Cory is the founder of Conscious Counsel, a law practice that provides legal counsel for creative, ambitious and heart-leading business owners who build communities and make the world a better and healthier place. His passion is to make the law fun and not something to be overwhelmed by and to make sure safeguards are in place for our businesses to thrive.
When you continuously get acknowledged for your career path, there's definitely something there. Accolade after accolade counts for something as well. And when it comes to peak performance, there's only a few coaches who can share the same air as Brett Baughman.
With more than two decades as an award-winning business and life coach, including being recently voted as the Top Coach of 2023 by Apple News, Brett joins the show to share innovative ideas and clear action steps to improve our own coaching businesses. He is passionate about helping his clients discover their unconscious passions and learn how to develop a daily routine and lifestyle that keeps them inspired and build momentum for their futures: mind, body, and spirit.
Fascia is an awesome tool to have in your health coaching toolbox! Although our understanding of fascia is an ongoing process, it's popularity continues to soar! This fascination with fascia allows for a unique selling point on a cutting edge modality that can be very beneficial to any health coaching practice.
To share how to incorporate fascia into your business, we invited Anna Rahe to the show. Anna is the founder of GST Body and has partnered with top athletes, surgeons, physicians, and celebrities, while also being featured in various publications such as The Wall Street Journal. She joins the show to share how fascia has drove her business to new heights and other profitable business tips.
I'll be honest. I think niching down is the hardest thing a health coach can do. Even to this day, I feel a lttle funny fully committing to a specific niche no matter how many people tell me the same exact advice and the amazing benefits of gaining that clarity. But, when it comes to creating a business, the importance of niching down can't be overlooked.
Jalene Szuba joins the show to share her business journey and some of the key benefits that she discovered while choosing her niche. Jalene is a sleep coach who helps exhausted and overwhelmed business professionals who want to sleep better so they can boost their energy and focus. It really is amazing how there's such a stigma around using a ghostwriter. People get help in the area of writing all the time! I myself use my virtual assistant to do my show notes. I use my copywriter to create my sales pages. But for some reason, even I feel a certain way considering using a ghostwriter to help out with any future books I intend to write. And this is after the fact that countless celebrities use them to get their books out! But maybe we are looking at this whole ghostwriting thing the wrong way.
To demystify the art of ghostwriting, we invited Lynn Smargis to the show. Lynn is the owner of Write For You, a company that creates content for content experts. She joins the show to share the many benefits of using a ghostwriter to not only assist you with your regular book, but to also work with you on book editing, book formatting, and book publishing.
Yoga and health coaching are two modalities that share many common threads, especially when we look at how they play such critical roles in how to transform people’s lives. So it doesn’t come as a surprise when we learn that many health coaches actively practice yoga and even incorporate yoga into their health coaching practices. So when I had the opportunity to invite Kim Tang to the show, I immediately jumped on the opportunity.
Kim is an Internationally recognized Master Yoga Teacher and the Head Coach of the International Yoga Sports Federation. Kim is inspired to inspire others and is empowered to empower others in their ability to expand and transform their minds, their bodies, their relationships with themselves, and the consciousness with which they conduct not only their practice, but their lives.
As we close in on our 200th episode, I look back at all of the amazing business tips that our awesome guests consistently deliver. But what about some of the latest approaches on how to get our clients healthy? To help us with some tips on how to get our clients healthy, we invited Isaac Ho back to the show! Isaac is one of our regulars and usually shows off how he is the master of all things sales. But, in this episode, Isaac shares his true passion of health coaching and talks about some of the strategies that he incorporates in his own practice that get his clients results.

True success lies not in products or technologies, but in the power of people. Why do some companies have loyal, cult-like followings while others blend into oblivion? If we look around, we begin to notice that traditional marketing is losing its edge and many entrepreneurs are struggling to stand out. It becomes clear that a thriving community can be your biggest asset. This breakthrough has launched Lloyed Lobo to new heights and led him to coin the phrase: " If you build a community, you won't become a commodity!".
Lloyed joins the show to reinforce this message. Lloyed is an entrepreneur, podcast host and community builder. So..... Let's talk about the elephant in the room. ChatGPT. At this point, I feel that I can say that everybody has at least heard of this or other AI applications out there that seemingly threaten the very existence of mankind. That's the dramatic feel around this new technology. A lot of creatives are truly stressed out about this. But just like any other technology that we've seen, this can be quite an exciting tool, especially for health coaches.
So to discuss this topic, we invited Natalie Gensits back to the show. Natalie is a my personal copywriter and she isn't concerned about Chat one bit. In this show we discuss Chat's uses as well as where we see the technology going in the future.

After over 180 episodes, I think I finally understand the purpose of niching down. I know that sounds bizarre, and I did get the concept of a niche superficially, this episode was the one that I truly had that aha moment. When put into practical terms, the niche is not about you. Yes, you can probably help all different types of people. But, the niche is for the consumer. They are doing the looking, not you.
So the man who opened up my eyes clearer than ever before is Ren Jones. Ren is one of the true pioneers in the online coaching space and founder of Fitness Jones Training. I know we don't like to talk about it, but the legal part of a health coaching practice is super important. At the end of the day, they are essential tools for professional and ethical health coaching practices.

How are we going to grow a successful health coaching practice, or sell an amazing course, or promote our newest book if nobody knows about it? This is a very common obstacle that many entrepreneurs struggle with. The truth is, that if you're hiding your business or brand from potential customers, it's time to take action and start marketing because marketing is crucial to increase brand visibility, attract new customers, and ultimately grow your business.

Keeping up with current events is something that health coaches are going to need to start doing! So, when fitness influencer Brittany Dawn popped into the news for being sued by the state of Texas, all health and wellness professionals’ ears should’ve popped up. The allegations included using deceptive business practices and not delivering on her promises to her customers really hit home for us who are trying to establish ourselves in the online space hoping not to fall into the same pitfalls as Brittany has alleged to have done.
To discuss this and a few other current events, we welcomed back Isaac Ho to the show. This episode will begin a regular series where Isaac and I dive into the new and relevant topics that pop up in the wellness arena.

No sales, no money. It's that simple. But what's simple, isn't easy. And selling is an art that only a few have a true expertise in. The good news is that as health coaches, we can learn this skill and get really good at it, especially when we learn what to say and when to say it!

Thankfully, as health coaches, we have found our passion. Now, we need tips on building a brand, marketing ourselves, establishing a solid client base, and creating a sustainable business model. He offers invaluable advice for anyone looking to turn their passion for health and wellness into a successful career.
One of the most common beliefs in the health coaching space is that we exist in a saturated market. This belief has made many health coaches hesitant to step out in their space and get moving with their business. The key solution to this is to step out and be an outlier in your demographic. So, the question is, how can you establish yourself as different in your particular market?
To help us stand out and succeed, we invited Nida Leardprasopsuk to the show. Nida is a serial entrepreneur, top-tier business consultant, self-identity reinvention coach, and former Fortune 500 executive with more than two decades of experience in business. It can be a cultural perspectives around money, or even ideas that we have let seep into our subconscious that defines our viewpoint of money. What defines a successful podcast? What's interesting is that there's a common misconception that a successful podcast has to have millions of downloads. Actually, some of the most successful podcasts aren't internationally known. The goal of a podcast can be to drive clients to your business and one of the best ways to do this is to have a locally based podcast that highlights your taget audience in your immediate area.
To discuss this strategy, we invited Corey Hiben to the show. Corey is the host of the super successful, locally based podcast called the Health Hustle Podcast based out of Austin, Texas. Corey shows how he leverages his podcast to connect with a community of wellness professionals who share their unique skillsets and creates business opportunities in the Austin area.
Let's face it. You can only be one place at a time. The traditional one on one coaching model makes it difficult to scale your coaching practice unless you have ways that help you manage your current initiatives while seamlessly welcoming new business. Automation allows you to continue to keep doing what you do best all while watching your business thrive!
To discuss how we can use automation, specifically the Engagement Rx platform offered by Avidon Health, we invited Clark Lagemann to the show. Clark is the CEO of Avidon Health and is a passionate entrepreneur and three-time Iron Man finisher. He has helped both individual health coaches and large organizations scale wellness programs. Avidon Health is a Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Company for 2022.
When the economy gets a little shaky, we tend to re-evaluate some of the things in our lives and consider whether they are truly necessary. We might look at our subscription services, like Netflix or whether we need all of the premium channels from our cable provider. We might consider cutting back on our vacations or our nights out. So the reality of any downturn is that a client who is buying your programs may look at your services and think twice about it. Is your program a nice thing to have, or is it an absolute necessity? In other words, is your health coaching practice a vitamin or a pain killer?
To position our services into the pain killer category, we invited Racheal Cook back to the show! Racheal is a business strategist who supports health coaches to create offerings that can survive and thrive no matter what state the world is in. She is the founder of the CEO Collective and the host of the Promote Yourself to CEO Podcast.
Many health coaches jump into coaching because of something that they have personally overcome and felt compelled to share what they have learned with the world. There then comes a point where you realize that you can actually get paid to help people overcome the very same things that you did. Then, a business is born!
Brian Gryn did just that. Brian took what began as a personal exploration into fasting and turned it into a thriving business, helping middle-aged men make intermittent fasting simple and doable. Brian is known as an intermittent fasting expert, wellness coach, author, human movement specialist, and host of the Get Lean Eat Clean Podcast. Through his Integrative Institute of Nutrition education and 10 years of group training/coaching, Brian learned that eating is integral in helping the body heal itself and all it takes are some small daily changes to make the biggest impact.
It's a common occurrence to see health coaches shelving their certifications. In fact, that is why I created the Health Coach Academy Podcast in the first place. After over 150 episodes, clues have emerged that have set up a pathway to have a coaching practice on a full time basis.
To discuss the strategies to accomplish this, my main man Isaac Ho rejoins the show! Isaac has been a health coach for 17 years and is an owner of a fitness, therapy and coaching company. He regularly commands anywhere from 30k-65k for coaching his clients, so if anyone can figure out how to make enough money as a health coach, it's Isaac!
Email marketing is making a comeback! With the news of the issues around social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook, ownership of an email list has jumped back in the spotlight as a vital part of a marketing strategy. No matter what happens with the future of these platforms, email allows us to stay connected to our potential clients.
To discuss the importance of email marketing, we invited Kyle Stout to the show. Kyle is the founder of Elevate & Scale, a leading digital marketing agency that helps
7-figure product-based entrepreneurs elevate their brand and scale their growth. Kyle is an authority on how leveraging email marketing can vastly increase revenue by improving customer retention, increasing average order value, and driving repeat purchases.
As health coaches, we often recommend products to our clients that have had positive health benefits in our own lives. Imagine being able to create these products ourselves? In today’s show, we are going to take a glimpse into what needs to be done to get a product based business off the ground.
Jenn Ditzhazy actually did that! Jenn founded ThePerfect3 Collagen after struggling with her own health for many years and discovered the life-changing power of food to heal her own body. Her mission was to create a company that could be a trusted & transparent source for high-quality products while advocating for women's health and improving the food industry.
One of the best things about having a podcast is the connections you make and the discussions you have outside of the actual recording of the shows. You really get to know your guests on different levels, and some of the conversations are worthy of their own shows! So when Isaac Ho and I first started having discussions off air, it was immediately evident that we had a lot in common, including our passion for health coaching and a desire to make a living off it.
So in this episode, we switch it up a bit and took a dive into what drives us as health coaches and some of the struggles that shaped our own health journeys and inspired us to become health coaches. We kept it casual and intended to provide a glimpse into each of our stories while delivering insight on what motivates us to believe that health coaches are needed in our broken system.
The entrepreneurial mind is quite a fascinating thing. As we all know, being an entrepreneur isn't for everybody. And those who succeed have a mindset that success is the only option and they'll do whatever it takes to make the dream of their business come true by any means necessary.
Olly Wood joins the show to share the benefits of this steadfast approach. Olly got started in the business world after
7 years as an independent personal trainer. He pivoted to the online space and saw his company rapidly grow into a multi 7 figure company that helps thousands of clients.
Does productivity feel like a dirty word? For many, productivity and what it actually means is quite elusive. For many entrepreneurs, rather than feeling good about getting things done, some are left with just feeling bad about themselves and their effort. This is because productivity is designed to meet the needs of other people, not our own needs.
To highlight this point and to get a better grasp on how to properly define productivity, we invited Sandra Halling to the show. Sandra is a systems expert who helps develop better work habits by aligning your work with your values so you can prioritize what matters to you and your business.
Can you have a thriving health coaching practice as a second career? Absolutely! In fact, it's possible that you've gathered an immense knowledge and tons of transferable skills that fit nicely into being a successful health coach. Not to mention, as an experienced adult, you bring additional wisdom that can only be learned through life experience.
To discuss this topic, we invited Bill Vogel to the show. Bill is a Certified Health and Longevity Coach specifically for men and women over 50. He identified that the over 50 segment is the most metabolically unhealthy age group as they have typically spent their lives raising their children and building wealth, often at the expense of their own health. He carved out this niche and created his practice so that he could support this group through his coaching.
Sure, I'm partial. But I believe podcasting is a great way to build your business and your brand. It helps you stand out as an authority in your industry and gives you instant credibility. But having a podcast is only one side of the story. Being a guest on podcasts is another. This side of the coin also provides a lot of benefits that can boost your business as well.
To break down the benefits of podcast guesting, we welcomed back Di-Di Hoffman to the show. Di-Di is the host of The Badass Wellness Coach Show and shares his experience with perfecting the art of becoming an ideal guest that leads to gaining clients.
Health coaching is an evolving profession. There are many schools and certification programs that prepare you to go out and help clients meet their health goals. So it is always a pleasure to get to look behind the scenes with one of the premier programs out there, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN), with its founder, Reed Davis.
Reed joins the show to discuss how health coaching and FDN have evolved over the past couple of years and how health coaches can position themselves to take advantage of the new landscape.
It is often said that what we are naturally good at, should be what we are monetizing. And when we are naturally good at it, we already have 90% of what we need in order to get started and it’s just a matter of implementation. Sometimes however, it isn’t something that we can easily see in ourselves. It often seems that we need to ask others what they see our strengths as since it sometimes is difficult to see the forest from the trees.
To put this into focus, we invited Racheal Cook to the show. Racheal is a business strategist and founder of The CEO Collective. She supports health coaches avoid entrepreneurial poverty by providing sound implementation strategies to get their businesses off the ground.
One thing that health coaches can utilize is more data. And since one of the basic tenets of health coaching is the concept of bio-individuality, nothing can give us more precise data than genetic testing. Imagine being able to help clients get specific results that are unique only to them, without the time it takes for trial and error? The value of this is priceless.
To discuss how a health coach can get their hands on this, we invited Joe Cohen to the show. Joe is the founder of SelfDecode, the ultimate biotech software platform for DNA and lab-based health recommendations. Joe leads a team of MDs, PhDs and engineers to help thousands of people take their health into their own hands with the health data they obtain through specialized testing.
It is really easy to fall into the trap that there’s too much competition in the health coach space. As you become certified and look all around you, it is easy to feel like the market is saturated. But, that’s simply a thought not necessarily based in reality. How many lawyers enter the workforce? How many doctors? How many plumbers? How many electricians. How many physical therapists? How come these markets aren’t considered saturated? Why is it that the mindset of these professionals are so different from a health coach’s mindset?
To discuss this idea and how to break out of this limiting mindset, we invited Dr. Aaron LeBauer to the show. Dr. LeBauer is the host of The CashPT Lunch Hour Podcast and author of The CashPT Blueprint. He has helped thousands of physical therapists scale their time, income and their impact despite heavy pushback from physicians and physical therapist.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has a very magically feel to it. When done right, it can drive traffic to your site opening up huge potentials for opportunity in our business. If done wrong, crickets. Yet, how many of us actually know how to get SEO right?
To break down the fundamentals of SEO, we invited Ken Marshall to the show. Ken is the Chief Growth Officer and Managing Partner at RevenueZen, a boutique B2B marketing agency for high-growth startups. He joins the show to share how SEO is paramount for growth and how it can lead to increased revenue opportunities.
Knowledge is power. However, knowledge isn't everything. Many health coaches get into a trap of always seeking additional knowledge and end up not taking action in their business. While there are many reasons why a health coach can fall into this trap, one of the main reasons that isn't really discussed is the fact that we can get stuck because we are not energetically aligned with to allow financial flow and freedom.
To discuss this very important topic, we invited Sheevaun Moran to the show. Sheevaun is the founder of Energetic Solutions, Inc. and has used her unique formula to help over 25,000 entrepreneurs achieve freedom and flow in their business and life.
If Albert Einstein were around and we asked him for a formula for business, it would look something like this: no sales = no money = no business. And while so many health coaches have a funny feeling about sales, it is the most essential aspect of our business that we need to get over. There's a lot of truth behind the fact that selling is actually serving and nothing serves more than a health coach and their ability to change lives for the better.
To demonstrate the importance of selling and how to properly shift our mindset around it, we invited Nicole Cramer to the show. Nicole is a sales coach who is passionate about teaching sales and money mindset to health and wellness entrepreneurs so that they can make this world a healthier place.
Even in the internet age, people still rely on referals for most of their goods and services. If someone can vouch for you, your credibilty is greatly enhanced. Social proof is a great way to boost your brand and highlights the fact that it isn't what is said about you, but who says it. Now imagine if a publication like Forbes or a television program like The Dr. Oz show gives you a shout out? That is truly powerful and would increase your bottom line.
To show us how this works and the value of PR, we invited Lewis Schenk to the show. Lewis is the founder of Boost Media, a PR firm that has successfully served over 1500 clients globally by leveraging the untapped potential of PR.
Research has shown that glucose is a major player in many of the health issues that plague our world. Most likely, you have a client who would benefit from having a better handle on it. And since health coaches are always looking for ways to get their clients results, a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)is an awesome tool that gives health coaches real time data in order to assist in achieving optimal health.
To discuss how a health coach can incorporate this in their practice, we invited Carlee Hayes to the show. Carlee is a registered dietitian and the lead dietician at NutriSense, a metabolic health company that utilizes GCM's technology to provide real-time data to clients in order to prevent and manage metabolic issues related to glucose.
How much extra time and effort does it take to close a $100 an hour health coaching package in comparison to a $25,000 coaching package? What if I told you that it doesn't really take that much more? Even though this doesn't seem to make sense, it isn't the first time this concept was introduced to me. One of the most frequently asked question we get from our audience is, what should be the first thing we do when we finally get our health coaching certification? The answer varies from perspective to perspective with compelling arguments for each and every answer. So what we should prioritize should naturally create the foundation of our business and allow us to attract the right clients and eventually lead to more business.
Lisa Haggis joins the show to convince us that branding is the first and most important step that a health coach should do. Lisa is the founder of Realize Your Brand and is a brand strategist. In this episode, Lisa shares tips on how to establish your unique brand positioning and how to display this through your promise and messaging.
Health coaches have a unique opportunity when it comes to webinars. They are a really good opportunity to pitch our services and give a prospective client a ton of value. Only problem is that you would have to do this same pitch over and over again. What if you can do that pitch one time and it’s available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? What if there was a way to automate these repetitive webinars and free up valuable time that can be better spent working on your business?
Well, thanks to eWebinar, there’s a way. To discuss this great tool, we invited the co-founder of eWebinar Melissa Kwan to the show. Melissa created this service after getting sick of giving the same webinar repeatedly while onboarding and training personnel while working at her previous company. Through automation, Melissa gives her clients the ability to get their time back and place themselves in position to do the things that really move the needle in their own business.
The used car salesman. The snake oil salesman. Is it any wonder why we have such a negative connotation surrounding selling? These images are burned into our subconscious to such a degree that it takes a lot of work to actually begin to not feel funny about selling. It will take a lot more work to begin to actually enjoy it!
To help us get over this idea and actually get us paid, we invited Annie P. Ruggles to the show. Annie is the founder of the Non-Sleazy Sales Academy. She joins the show to reiterate that successfully promoting a service and asking for sales are not the same thing, and in order to keep the lights on, we need to get comfortable with selling our services.
The proper mindset is required to succeed in any business over the long haul. Entrepreneurship exposes many of our deep rooted limiting beliefs and if we don't confront them and defeat them, our business will pay the price. We need a confident mindset for business results.

Health coaches who get to work with corporations are considered a big deal in the health coaching space. But you don’t have to work with a huge corporation to be wildly successful. In fact, there’s a huge opportunity to work with small to mid-sized businesses as well as local municipalities who are dying to offer wellness programs for their employees. And while these entities may not have the same budgets that a large corporation does, they are well positioned to offer health coaches opportunities to get paid and get in front of potential clients.
To talk about these opportunities, we invited Marcy Morrison to the show. Marcy is the owner of Healthy Fit Family and HFF Corporate, a corporate wellness consulting business that helps corporations and municipalities start and manage worksite wellness programs. In the past 11 years, she has managed to bring health and wellness professionals into these businesses to get in front of this select demographic in order to make a huge impact.

Paid ads get a bad wrap. Part of the reason is our obsession with the rare occurrence of organic traffic. Another aspect is many health coaches have had an unsuccessful experience with paid ads. The truth is, nothing accelerates your results better than a paid ad. Our issue lies with the fact that we most likely never properly crafted an ad, and more importantly, we never connected our ad to a quality funnel.
To get a better understanding of this powerful tool, we invited Jennifer Spivak to the show. Jennifer is the founder of the Ad Girls and she joins the show to share how to grow your health coaching business past referrals using ads. Jennifer has generated millions of dollars through Facebook ads, often earning her clients sevenfold return on ad spend.

To share how to execute this simple concept, we invited Dr. Barbara Hales, aka the Medical Strategist, to the show. Dr. Hales shares her story on how she took her practice from no patients to a booming 10,000 patient practice using simple marketing approaches and strategic planning.
What benefit can a health coach get if they were featured in major media publications, like newspapers, radio, TV news bulletins, podcasts, and blogs? Tons! Not only would you be looked at as an authority, your reach to new clients can be limitless. So what has been the biggest obstacle to small businesses taking advantage of this marketing strategy? Cost.
Mickie Kennedy joins the show to offer a solution to this. 22 years ago, he founded eReleases after realizing that small businesses desperately need a press release service they can afford. He used his PR experience to create an affordable way to have access to the creation of press releases that can meet anyone's price point.

Mike Ashie, host of the YouTube channel, Leadership with Mike, joins the show to share how his failure at multiple businesses lead him to his most successful and personally satisfying business yet.
Branding comes up a ton when you first start out as a health coach. Truth is, WE are the brand. Not our logo or our website. It's us. Our knowledge, our skillset, and our ability to get results. Joe Pardo joins the show to drive this point home. Super Joe, is a multi-time best selling author, award winning business coach, successful podcast host, and top conference organizer. He joins the show to share how health coaches can grow their businesses, brands, and client lists.

As many of us focus on just getting clients, Jackson redirects our focus to not only build a client base, but to build assets as well. This strategy sets us up for a lifestyle business that we would never want to retire from.
A health coach who is into beauty can take advantage of one of the biggest markets around. After all, our health is a direct correlation to how good we look. In the emerging markets of anti-aging and renewed emphasis on skincare, a health coach can show a unique approach in this market and can carve out a unique and profitable niche.
Chris Gibson joins the show to show how he did just that. Chris is a health coach who used his own struggles with his skin to create a successful business helping others overcome their own skin issues.
The amount of marketing options are dizzying. The more you listen to what the experts claim works in marketing, the more confusing it can get. Truth is, what works for them might not work for you. To discover what works requires a healthy amount of trial and error, but once you find out, your practice will soar!
To guide us on this concept, we invited Hanna Hermanson to the show. Hanna is the founder of Dream Life is Real Life Podcast and owner of the Done For You (DFY) Copywriting Agency.
If someone came into your life and told you that they can save you years of health mistakes, how much would you pay them? Sounds pretty valuable, huh? So many coaches make the mistake that they need to know everything in order to be an amazing coach. This could be the furthest thing from the truth! We tend to forget that the gap between what we know and our clients can be immense.
To hammer this point home, we invited Hope Pedraza to the show. Hope shares how this gap, no matter how small, is such a valuable piece to the coaching experience and worthy of awesome compensation!
Self-mastery is a tricky word. At first glance, it appears to be an individualistic ideal that is done by yourself. But anyone who has done anything in the way of this knows that it is a team sport and it isn't done alone. In fact, it is quicker to attain when you seek out resources and help.
To drive this point home, we invited Jonah Larkin to the show. Jonah is an executive coach and habit expert who specializes in the field of attaining peak performance and well-being. To help us find our marketing archetype, we invited Christina Frei to the show. Christina is the founder of Innate Marketing Genius and a podcast host whose goal is to help get clients by being your true self.

There's much debate on why this is the case, but it is an underserved market that is quite difficult to crack and to make a viable impact in. But if the last 10 years have shown us anything, this is slowly changing!
To discuss how to make an impact in this market, we invited Michael Krug to the show. Michael is a health coach and personal trainer who has perfected his marketing strategy to attract males who want to make healthy changes in their lives.

One of the most popular strategies health coaches employ in building their practices is the free consultation. This is where the coach and potential client get to see if they're a fit and where the coach can close the deal. So in order to really build a sustainable practice, we really have to seize the moment.
To show us how this is done, we invited Michelle Leotta back to the show. Michelle is the host of the She's Got Power podcast and founder of Healthy Profits University.

It was refreshing to discuss the early struggles of launching a health coaching business with Elizabeth DiCristofano. Elizabeth is the host of the podcast The Root of Our Health, a functional medicine health and wellness show for women over 40.
As a health coach, our main goal is to get our clients the results that they desire. We also understand that health isn't linear. Your client might be great on the nutrition side, but a terrible sleeper. They might crush it in the exercise world, but they don't drink enough water. Luckily, today we have a way to identify these shortcomings and help bridge these gaps: Gadgets.

We invited Jules Dan, host of the podcast Storytelling Secrets, to the show to share his tips on how to get people to not only open our emails, but how to consistently engage with our audience so that sales naturally follow.

Frank Daniels joins the show to share how TikTok is waiting for brave entrepreneurs to take advantage of its explosive popularity.
As 2020 ends, many of us have taken the time to really do some soul searching.
