The Holiday Season can seem like one big blurry headache sometimes. It seems like from Black Friday to Christmas Eve we are in a constant state of movement, doing ‘all the things’, yet not feeling fulfilled by the season. Advent beckons us to come to the manger in quiet reflection, and offers a different path to celebrate the holidays. In our final episode of the season we discuss how the themes of advent can and should come full circle in our Christian walk. How we can hope in the Lord, find peace, hold joy in the waiting and live out Love like Christ.

God will most certainly give you more than you can handle. Lets squash that age-old saying right now. If God never gave us more than we could handle, we'd have no reason to partake in His grace.

How do we find our place in the Great Commission? Everyone's position is different but integral to the end result. We are eternal beings living in a temporary world; created to be with the creator. But we have been given our time here to fulfill The Great Commission and to put a few more points on the board.

Entropy is a slow descent into disorder; which we are all in. We can choose to let the free-fall of entropy define who we are as humans and followers of Christ. We can choose to let it harden our hearts or we can choose to share in that inevitable chaos together with those around us. We are disciples creating disciples. And what better way to share in community than sharing that empathy we learn on our journey to and from the mountain top? https://app.emberplatform.org/store-single.php?store=beehive-global-collective-&product_id=237 (Nairibi Church Project) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS4Bpr2BgnE (Robot Video)

You can't stay on the mountain top. And luckily, the valleys are only temporary, too. In comparison, between the two, it's the valley that make the mountain top so much better. Without the two together, would we appreciate the spiritual mountain views we get to enjoy and would we learn to rely on Christ in our struggles? We have the ability to share in joy and in struggles; both with each other as fellow believers and with our maker. That doesn't always mean it will be easier or more enjoyable, but at the end of the climb up the mountain side, it makes the enjoyment all the more better. In our Christian walk, it's often difficult to accept what is the reality of our sin and the weight it holds. The Christian walk is dynamic; it’s a journey. We can easily feel like we are ‘stuck’, trying to find our way. Fortunately, Christ is always there, beckoning us back to our true calling in Him. Grace is sufficient and in it, we have the unique ability to offer insight and community to those around us who may very well be going through something very similar. “It is difficult to know the true spiritual state of those who have only known the mountaintop but never the valley, only ease but never pain. But there is strange encouragement in the distressing afflictions of the Christian experience. This is safe ground. For this is the path Christ walked, and in finding ourselves on that path we know we are not fair-weather disciples.” -Dane Ortlund

We're on our way to Miami. Driving. Looooong ride down. A healthy mix of sleep deprivation and random conversation make for a good episode. Our intention was for these Down and Back Again episodes to have a bit of structure, but setting up to record in the truck proved to be a little more difficult than anticipated. In this very late night episode, you'll hear pretty much nothing but rambling. This is a 40-minute look at pretty much how our entire car ride down to Miami went. Almost like you're right there with us......

The refining process is never easy. More often than not, it's incredibly uncomfortable and maybe even painful. The good thing is, it brings our lives one step closer to being more like Christ. We have the privilege of participating in The Great Commission. The plan is moving forward, we only have to choose whether or not we want to be a part of it.

As Christians, every decision made should be to push the narrative of The Great Commission. It's easy to be reminded of our shortcomings, regrets, and missed opportunities in hindsight. But maybe things as simple as egg salad sandwiches at The Masters is all the reminder we need to live on mission.
